Rogaine - Does This Hair Loss Product Really Work?

After it was accidentally discovered that Minoxidil can induce hair growth, the product called Rogaine was born back in 1988. At that time, Rogaine, which is essentially Minoxidil in a lotion form that is applied directly to the scalp, was only available by prescription and the active ingredient was a low 2%.

Fast-forward to 1995: The food and drug administration deemed Rogaine to be safe enough to be sold without a prescription in most pharmacies as well as standard grocery stores. This spawned the creation of similar generic products that also contained the ingredient in Minoxidil. The owners of such products eventually increased the active ingredient dosage from 2% to as high as 5%, and this was a smart move because the higher dosage actually created faster results so both the customer and the product owners were happy.

What causes Rogaine to work?

As stated above, Rogaine causes hair growth as a result of the drug Minoxidil. Although we know that Minoxidil works well, researchers are still unsure as to the exact reason why it can create strands of new hair to grow on areas of the scalp that have been bald for years.

One theory was that Minoxidil had an impact on DHT levels better in the blood. If you are unfamiliar with DHT, it is simply a form of testosterone that affects sensitive hair follicles as a person ages. However, it became known that Minoxidil had absolutely no effect on DHT levels.

The one characteristic that Minoxidil has on the body is that it helps in large blood vessels, commonly referred to as a “vasodilator”. But, again researchers are baffled because it is not proven that hair growth is caused by any vasodilators.

What we do know is that the Minoxidil reduces the speed at which hair follicles shrink and it also causes hair follicles that have shrunk to start growing full-size hair strands again. This drug also keeps hair that is currently in a growth stage to remain that way for an extended period of time. In other words, minoxidil can help keep hair follicles in the “anagen phase” of hair regeneration longer than it normally would have.

Most importantly, if your hair remains in this growth phase of the regeneration process for a longer period of time, the results are thicker and longer hair.

Author Antony Wilton has tackled the hair loss battle with gusto.

The Passion Runs Through It

Moments in time are often ignored or forgotten, but reliving them through poetic words can bring them back to life and to the forefront of our minds. This is the gift a poet hopes to give to readers. In “The Passion Runs Through It…” by Deb Dietz, that gift is willingly shared and embraced.

Capturing a feeling and portraying it openly so that others can feel it is a talent few have. Relaying a moment so well that others can say, “I know how that feels; I’ve done that!” takes a talent that Deb obviously has. Taking everyday images, from ribbons of asphalt to spiral bound notebooks, she opens the eyes of her readers to all that is around them. In magical moments of solitude and moon gazing, and passionate portrayals of love, it is clear that the word can evoke deep feeling. These are not epic poems, but short works of art that reach out to many senses. My favorite is a poem titled, Label Envy, in which Deb examines how labels are slapped on people instead of discovering what they are really like. Another that I liked a lot was about standing up for what you believe in and not letting others assume things about you. The simpler things like a river winding to the sea, and glass tears on a china doll, round out this book with images of everday life.

Deb Dietz will feel like a friend whom you’ve shared moments with. My only complaint was that I wish the book were longer… I want more!

A Look at What Epoxy Flooring Is

Epoxy flooring is made from polymer materials will begin their lives as a liquid and then can be converted into a solid polymer through a chemical reaction. Not only are these types of floorings mechanically strong but they are also resistant to chemical elements once they become solid as well as being highly adhesive during the stage when they altered from liquid to the solid form that you see on many floors today. Plus there are a wide variety of basic epoxy chemicals which can be used in order to produce epoxy flooring.

But basically any type of epoxy flooring system is made up of 2 components a resin and a hardener.

1. Resin - This is usually light and is almost clear in color as well as being almost odor free.
2. Hardeners - This is much darker in color than the resin and will normally smell like ammonia.

Yet when these two components are mixed together in the correct way they react to each other chemically and begin to link together and you will find that once the change reaction starts it can not be reversed. Once the reaction has been completed they then form a rigid plastic material.

The great thing about most types of epoxy flooring is that they are very strong and are able to resist all household chemicals as well as being resistant to mechanical shocks as well as being scratched etc. Finally they are easy to both maintain and keep clean as well. Today there are three types of epoxy flooring available and these are shown below.

1. Industrial Floor Epoxy - This is normally thick and shiny and contains no solver or odors. However, it can become slippery when wet.

2. Water Bond Epoxy - This is thin compared to either the industrial floor or rough coat epoxy coating described below. Although it can not hide cracks or flaws in the flooring it is covering it is the most functional as well as being the most user friendly of all three types of epoxy flooring covering. It may in some times be used as a primer prior to the industrial floor epoxy flooring being laid.

3. Rough Coat Epoxy - This is a solvent based epoxy and again is thin but comes with an anti-slip grit mixed into it. Unfortunately this only comes in one color, tan, but it can be used either by itself or with other epoxy floorings.

The most commonly used type of epoxy flooring for the home is the water based version as it probably the easiest of them to use as it is made up both of the primer and/or topcoat and is certainly great for using in garage areas.

Commercial Debt Collection

Commercial debt collection is required when a company fails to pay for goods or services supplied on credit. Although the process of commercial debt collection is a stressful experience for you and your company, you must still treat the debtor fairly and courteously.

So Does this only apply to small companies? Not at all. The key is to find a commercial debt collection agency with whom you can develop a long term relationship, after all this will almost certainly not be the last time you need their services.

You will need to find an agency who are professional and dependable. Responsive, courteous. Speak with the person who is intended to become your account manager - the person who will be in direct contact with your debtors. Do you trade internationally? This is a crucial factor when choosing a commercial debt collection agency.

By employing a commercial collection agency you must be careful and guard against not opening your self up to a lawsuit. Professional agencies will protect you from this unwanted outcome. The agency will almost certainly wish to speak directly with your debtor or debtors , after all the time for written warnings will probably have been passed some time ago. The desire for action on your part will be strong. A good communicative agency will be able to verbally make your debtor understand the seriousness of the situation.

Many people hesitate before bringing in the services of a debt collection agency. They ask questions like ” How Long should I wait before bringing in a debt collection agency?”
“How many chances should I give a customer to pay before turning over the account to an collection service?”
The answers vary but in general the following is a good rule of thumb.
Time to wait - around 90 days unless you have had a bad experience before with this debtor in which case maybe 60 days would apply.
How many chances to pay - 2 or 3 is mostly enough. If you haven’t had payment by then, chances are you are in for problems.

If commercial debt collection is not part of your B2B business plan, your company is losing money.

Submitting Your Website To The Search Engines And Achieving The Best Listings

How To Get Your Website Ranked By The Search Engines

Starting a new website, and getting it listed in the Search Engines, is an important first step in being successful with an online business

However there are a number of steps you need to take, to make sure you will get the highest possible listing, when people do a search online

First of all, remember the Search Engines work, by making it easy for people to find information. You will always get a higher listing in the search engines, if the information on your website, is a “match”, to the search phrase, people type in when searching online

Therefore you should always concentrate on providing as much relevant information on your website as possible. It will also help if you make sure you keep adding new content as often as possible. You can also use RSS feeds for other sites, to make this easier

Target Your Webpage Content To Relevant Keywords

Many people start building their website without first thinking about what people are searching for online. Your website might look great to you, but what really matters is that you have carefully focused pages, which are each “niched” or “targeted” to rank highly for one main search phrase or keyword. If you put too much different unrelated content on your webpages, then the Search Engine “spiders” may become confused as to what your page is really about. Rather than having lots of different content on a single page, it is much better to split your content into several different pages, each of which should be linked together by a common menu system

Finding The Keywords People Are Search For

As a guide, the best way to put your website together, is to do some good quality keyword research. This can easily performed at the publisher site of yahoo.com or the Adwords section of the Google Search Engine. Both these services allow you to enter a general keyword phrase, and receive a listing of all the more specific keyword phrases that people have searched for in the last month. Once you know the keyword phrases that people are searching for, you can add carefully targeted content, to get the highest possible listing, when people do a similar search in the future

Setting Up Your Menu Linking System

The best way to manage the internal links on your website, is to have an integrated menu system, which is repeated exactly on every page. This will make it easy for your users to navigate from page to page, but will also make it easy for the Search Engines to find the content on your website. The last thing you want is lots of great webpages which the Search Engines are unable to find, because your menu system doesn’t link to them on every page

If you have a really big website, then it will be impossible to list every page in this way. In this case you should simply place a link to a site map, where every page is listed, this should make it easy for the Search Engines to find all your pages

What Makes A Web Page Rank Well?

There are a few simple rules you should follow, in order to make your webpages rank well with the Search Engines. Good listings will not happen overnight, and you will need to be patient. It is a little bit like planting a seed in the ground. To begin with there are no results much to speak of, however eventually as the seed germinates and starts to grow, the green shoots appear.

Here are some simple formatting rules to follow for very webpage:

1) Place the title of your page in a H1 top heading on your page

This means simply putting the HTML code < H1> at the start of your heading, and the HTML code < /H1> at the end of your heading

2) Give your webpage the name of your main heading

For example if your webpage was “5 Simple Steps To Website Profits” then your webpage would be called 5-Simple-Steps-To-Website-Profits.html

3) Put the title of your webpage into the title tag of your HTML source

This means just finding the HTML code < TITLE>place your title text here< /TITLE>, and then changing the text

4) Review what you have typed into the META tags

Especially take care with the META tag “content”, and the META tag “description”

5) Any images should have an ALT tag

This should be of the type ALT=”describe image”. You can also place your main keyword in the ALT tag, for maximum effect. Remember that Search Engines cannot “read” the text displayed in your images

6) Use Paragraph Tags

Try to ensure you use paragraph tags in your HTML rather than just a double carriage return i.e. use rather than < BR>< BR>

7) Wherever possible use sub headings using the < H2> HTML code

This will make your webpages much more readable, but also give you the opportunity to “slip” your main keyword into a sub heading, where appropriate. Obviously don’t overdo this feature, or it will count against you

8) Try and start your first paragraph with the main keyword phrase you are targeting

The Search Engines will be looking at your keyword prominence i.e. how many times your keyword appears on your page. Obviously you must not overdo this, or your website will be removed from the index altogether. It can also help if you place your keywords in bold letters occasionally

Manually Submitting Your Website To The Search Engines

The best way to get started submitting your website to the Search Engines is to manually submit your main domain name to Google, Yahoo and MSN.

This means going to the Search Engine individually, and navigating to their website submission page. You can then simply enter your main domain name - you do not need to list any of your individual pages, all that is required is your domain name only.

There will be a random code that you must enter correctly, this is just to check that you are a real person entering the information, and not a submission script.

You may encounter some problems, such as the Search Engine submission page telling you that your webpage cannot be found, however simply ignore this message and re-submit, until you get a success message, indicating that your website has been queued for “spidering”, as and when the Search Engine next performs a search.

Websites That Drop Out Of Search Engine Listings

It is not necessary to keep re-submitting your website month after month. If your website gets dropped out of the index, there will usually be a good reason for this, generally related to the content on your webpages. Read through this article carefully to see what HTML code and formatting is missing from your webpages to correct this, then manually resubmit. Remember do not use other peoples content on your site, as this will be flagged up by the Search Engine Spiders as duplicate content. If you want to use free articles, then add some extra content on your page, such as a RSS feed, or say a simple definition of some term used in the article

Paid Website Submission Services

Be very careful of paid submission services, that claim to submit your website to “thousands” of search engines and directories. While some of these services may be occasionally worth using, in the main, you will get a reasonable search listing, simply by manually submitting to the main Search Engines. The “thousands” of directories may simply be Free For All link boards, which will probably do more harm then good to your main Search Engine listing

Improving Your Search Engine Listing

One of the main ways that Search Engines assess the ranking to be given to your website, is by counting the number of one-way inbound links, pointing to your website. For the small website, it is not always easy to generate extra links. However the following are a few methods that will work:

1) Write as much new unique original content as possible

This will get noticed eventually by some of the not-for-profit directories, which manually visit sites and only add quality sites to their databases

2) Write lots of new articles

Remember to post them to the various free article directories

3) Write press releases

If you have any news to report which is directly related tpo your website e.g. new products or new services etc

4) Start an offsite blog

You can start a blog on blogger.com for free, and place a link to your website on your blog

5) Make posts on forums

There are lots of high traffic forums which can join, and simply help people by answering their questions about making money online, setting up websites, seo etc. You should make sure you place a live link back to your website, in your signature file. This will then be added every time you make a post.

Conclusion

All of these methods, over time, should make sure you get the possible ranking for your website, with the Search Engines. Always remember, that content, and especially new original content, which matches the keyword phrases that people are searching for, will significantly enhance your search listings. This does take quite a bit of work, but over time, will yield results.

How to Get Rich With Options

Exchange traded options are simply a wonderful investment vehicle, because they are just so flexible. If you buy shares, you usually do so with the hope the price of the share will rise over time and you will make a capital gain. But if the market goes against you and the price begins to drop, you are then faced with the “buy, hold and pray” scenario, where you have to wait it out until the price, hopefully, will move back to your original entry price.

Options are not like this. They are not uni-directional investments. If you know how options work, you also know that positions can be easily adjusted to accommodate what the market is telling you. Options are also much more interesting than buying shares or CFDs because they contain a greater variety of components. I’m going to show you how to get rich with options.

We need to discuss option characteristics, which are not available when just buying and selling stocks.

You can create an option contract out of nothing. This is called “writing” an option, which is another way of saying you’re “selling” it to the market. So you create, or write, an option contract and sell it to the market, all in the same transaction. This now gives you the choice whether you want to be on the buying or writing end of a market deal.

All option contracts have an expiry date. This being the case, the price of any option includes a “time to expiry” element, as well as any “intrinsic value” due to market price movements. Because the price of an option decays at an exponential rate as the expiry date draws nearer, you can take advantage of this factor by being on the writing rather than the buying side of the market. This is vital information if you want to know how to get rich with options.

Options can be used to take advantage of either an upwards, downwards or sideways move in the market price. Call options increase in value as the price moves north, put options do the same as the underlying security price drops. If you think the share, commodity or currency price is about to make a large move, but in recent times it has been moving sideways, you can buy the same quantity of both calls and puts and make a profit from whichever way the price eventually moves. This is called a “straddle”. You buy these when the option price is relatively low and you need to allow enough time to expiry (at least 90 days) for them to do their job - but with the right chart patterns, they work well. We say this only to demonstrate the flexibility of options. There is a better way than this, how to get rich with options.

Now, here’s where it gets interesting. If we were to imagine a graph, options contain both vertical and horizontal components. The vertical component is the price movement; the horizontal component is the “time value” based on impending expiry. Combining these two elements with the ability to write (create, sell) as well as buy options, gives us all the flexibility we need to get rich with options.

The ability to write (sell) options, allows us to create positions with very low risk, which can be easily adjusted if the market turns against us, until conditions are better to produce a profit. Combine this with good money management and you can’t go wrong.

All option contracts have what is called the “strike price”. This is the price at which you accept or give the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell the underlying security, by a given date. The relationship between the strike price and the current market value of the underlying security, affects the price of the option.

If you SELL a put option with a strike price that is close to, the current market value and at the same time, BUY another put option at a lower strike price - because the bought option is cheaper than the sold option, you create a position known as a “credit spread” because it puts an “up-front” credit into your brokerage account. As long as the share price stays above the strike price of the BOUGHT option strike price, by the expiry date, you get to keep the credit. This is one of the best strategies I have ever used. This is how to get rich with options.

Remember how the option price decays at an exponential rate as we draw near to the expiry date? If we have a credit spread in place, we are using this time decay to our advantage, because we are relying on our SOLD position to become worthless. For this reason, we only set up credit spreads with a short time to expiry, normally 4-6 weeks at most, sometimes less, but definitely not more than that. With rapid time decay, even if the underlying security price falls through our “sold” strike price, we can still make a profit at the expiry date. If it falls too far, we can adjust our position by what is called “rolling out” to a later expiry month and wait for the price to rise again. Or if it looks like the market price is going to crash, we buy back our “sold” put (for a loss) and just keep our “bought” put contract (which was very cheap to buy, being “out of the money” at the time) and let it make enough profit to compensate for the loss on the sold position.

Credit spreads are a very low risk investment strategy. With as little as $20,000 you can replace your monthly income, so imagine what you could do with $50,000 or more, trading the US markets? With a simple but powerful charting technique known as “channeling” you can easily identify opportunities, set up your positions and just wait for them to mature - then keep the money!

There’s more to discover about how to get rich with options using this strategy, including some sound trading rules, which can’t be covered in one article. For more information, visit How to Get Rich With Options

From Puppy To Adult - Start Your Dog Obedience Training On The Right Path

Puppy 2-3 weeks old

This is the stage where you puppy will start to respond to his environment. He will slowly start to crawl around, and recognize his “mommy” and “siblings”. Remember that before you ever start your dog obedience training, your puppy’s dog mom will start by teaching him doggy behavior.

Your Puppy At 3-4 Weeks

Your puppy will go through the sensory development stage. He will know his surroundings and recognize you and your family members. Try and be calm and not too loud around your puppy at this stage. Loud noises, lots of activity could have an impact on your puppy at this point in his development. Your puppy will learn to be a dog now, so do not remove your puppy from it’s four legged mommy and siblings. His doggy mommy will need her own time to train her puppy.

Your Puppy at 4-7 Weeks

At this stage your puppy learns manners from its doggy mother. He will learn all about the leader of the pack at this stage. It is at this stage that you can start to wean your puppy.

Start handling the puppies at this point, but, not for more then about 15 minutes at a time. Puppies that are removed to early can have “dog” development problems. Your puppy will need to stay with its doggy family till 7-8 weeks of age. This will give him optimum dog development time.

Make sure you let your puppy become a “dog”.

Your Puppy at 8 weeks to 12 weeks

Your puppy is learning about family life in your home. This is NOT the time for heavy duty training, or serious corrections. This is the time to gently start to teach your dog to fit into his family.

His bladder and bowel control will increase at this stage. More free time for you! You can begin to train your puppy for some easy commands like: come, sit, stay, and down. Leash training can also start at this stage. Do not isolate your dog because this is the time he learns how to interact in your environment.

Your puppy at 12-16 weeks, the rebellious age

This is the age where your puppy gets his own mind, ideas and he will try to outsmart you.

He will start play biting, and you will need to stop this right at the beginning.

This is a good time to play with your puppy. But, do not play rough games and teach your puppy to be rough with humans. He will believe that “winning” at these games means he has become the dominant in the human pack.

Your puppy at 4-6 Months

This is the stage where your puppy will test you to your limits. Be firm, but gentle! He will also go through that horrid teething stage. Do some internet searching on this subject for tools to help you both get through this intact. Frozen bones will sooth him during this period.

Teach him at this point to “play” gently with the kids. Never, ever let your puppy off a leash near traffic or near any place where he could get hurt. He may come back to you 3 times, but the fourth he WON’T!

This is the time for neutering or spaying, if that is the route you would like to go.

6-18 Months - The growing up to adulthood months

He is really learning everything YOU choose for him to learn. So, take advantage of this time period. What you teach today you will not have to correct tomorrow.

Always be realistic. Teach yourself how to train your dog. There are good internet courses available. Teach your dog to be sociable also, take him to a training class to learn this.

And, do seek the advice of a dog professional for training and dog equipment. This is very important.

Affiliate Marketing Program Tip’s

Website owners are often the favorite target for Internet scammers. Odds are
you are paying a small fee to keep your site running. Do you not wish you could
make some additional money with the website you work so hard to maintain?
To a webmaster, affiliate marketing is almost always the answer to this dilemma.
By displaying adds from reputable companies you can send interested people to
there sites and perhaps purchase a product. When this happens you will earn a
percentage of the sale as a finder’s fee.

This being said there is a dark side to affiliate marketing that can jeopardize your
good name as a webmaster. For example, have you ever been surfing the web
and come across a website that touts an amazing nutritional supplement that does
it all? Weight loss for the overweight, hair growth for the bald, an increased sexual stamina for those lacking it and a host of other items are cured or corrected with
a pill after breakfast, lunch and dinner. These miracle cures are touted on the
website via a long list of testimonials, and you can almost always recognize
the feel of these sites simply by the long list of text they sport, the varying fonts employed, and also the different colors these words are written in. You may simply
shrug your shoulders at such a site until you see a copy of a commission check the webmaster has posted and suddenly he or she has your undivided attention.
The check is small enough to be realistic yet big enough to consider what you
could to with the extra money.

Once they have your attention, the spiel usually involves a site owner who is so
successful that he or she has decided to take on two or three qualified
novices and train them to do the business as well. This involves selling the
miracle product to your friends and neighbors and then just sitting back and
waiting for the money to roll in. Additionally, you will need to post
banners on your website. What has just happened, in a nutshell, is an
affiliate scam that ties your success directly into a multi-level marketing
scheme. While your links will attract more interested parties to the
originator’s website, you are meanwhile alienating your friends and families
by the legal drugs you are peddling. This is not what affiliate marketing is
all about, and it is important that you understand the implications of your
putting links or banners of any business on your website.

Searching The Web

Google, Yahoo, MSN, Alta Vista and so much more… There are so many search engines out there today that we sometimes don’t know which one is the best, or which one we should use.

The reality is, Google is the dominating search engine and it didn’t beat Yahoo for nothing. Google was the first to implement a conversion ratio together with click price in order to rank pay per click websites.

Every time you search on Google, ads appear on the right side of the page. Every time you click an ad like this, you are making Google money - and sometimes 1 click can make Google up to $5.

These are advertisers that have posted their advertisements for a per-click fee. Yahoo and many other search engines have this also - but in the traditional search engines, what made your advertisement be first on the page was your click price that you set.

So if Joe is advertising on a keyword for $2, but I advertise on the same keyword for $3, I’ll be ranked higher than Joe.

The problem here, that Google fixed, is that people might prefer Joe’s product to mine. So Google implemented a new way of ranking - mixing CTR and price per click. CTR is your click ratio - for example in 50 impressions, I get 5 clicks, which results in a 10% ratio. However if Joe gets 50 impressions with 10 clicks, he will have a 20% ratio.

A higher ratio means that the advertiser has given to the demand - if people click on the ad, it’s because that’s what they are looking for. Google has been trying to be the best at what they do, and they have done it.

So now, even if Joe is paying a dollar less than me, he will probably be ranked higher than me because he has a higher conversion.

This is only one way how Google tries to provide it’s users with quality content - and there are many more.

I’m sure that using Google is probably giving you quality results over the other search engines, and this is because of their effort in being good at what they do.

Google has started diversifying in their services - they now have Blogger and so many more services. Some people think that diversifying isn’t the way to go - that you should rather keep a constant effort in your service, in this case, providing quality results to users.

Google has swept the planet quickly and quietly - and now it is the #1 search engine, probably worldwide.
If so many people use Google to find information, just imagine how much power this company has. They can literally filter out information before it comes to you by choosing only certain websites to display.

This is actually what is happening in China.
