Menstrual Cramps - Treat Your Menstrual Cramps

Cramps are a reality for most teens and women in their 20s and early 30s. They are caused by strong uterine contractions triggered by prostaglandins. These strong contractions cause the blood supply in the uterus to temporarily shut down and then increase the contractions and pain.

Menstrual cramps are the single biggest reason for lost school and work hours among women. Cramps can be mild to debilitating and don’t require a doctors attention unless the pain isn’t controlled by over the counter medications and other home remedies.

Women can use a menstrual calendar to predict their periods, chart their pain and emotional responses to the hormonal changes that happen each month. Using this calendar a woman can begin taking ibuprofen 2 times a day the day before she expects her period. Ibuprofen blocks the prostaglandin receptors in the uterus and significantly decreases the pain and cramping.

Some women also suffer from constipation during the beginning of their period. Eating 8 servings of fruits and vegetables and maintaining a healthy colon, at least 3 days before she expects her period, will decrease the pain and discomfort from constipation.

Another natural option to help decrease pain of cramping during menstruation is to include exercise in her daily routine. Exercise will improve blood and oxygen circulation to all of the muscle groups. Women should try not to use tampons during the first few days since they trigger more uterine contractions. Avoiding red meat, refined sugars and fatty foods will also increase the body’s ability to fight off the strong contractions.

Caffeine will constrict blood vessels and contribute to stronger contractions while cayenne pepper is a vasodilator and improve circulation. Stress reduction also helps women to cope better with the pain during her period.

Some researchers believe that chamomile tea, which has other health benefits, also helps to decrease menstrual cramps. Bilberry, found in dark skinned fruits, is a powerful anti-inflammatory and is also used to treat severe menstrual cramps by improving blood flow. Bilberry requires more studies to improve cramps but there are minimal side effects and good studies to show use for vision disease prevention.

Oral birth control pills have been found to decrease the amount of menstrual tissue formed and therefore lower the pain level of uterine contractions causing the cramping. This should be used only in women less than 40, who don’t smoke and who don’t have the risk factors associated with stroke and birth control pills.

Menstrual cramps take their toll on women. Several options are available to treat cramps that help to decrease the disabling pain and discomfort that some women suffer with each month. With a little planning and the ability to predict her cycles women are able to prophylactically treat the pain and avoid the symptoms.

Body Mass Index – A Slogan for Today’s Generation?

With winter fast receding for another year, the approaching summer brings with it the promise of longer evenings, warm sunshine and an opportunity for the kids to escape the confines of the home and emerge to enjoy playing outside during the long summer nights.

However, with the advances in digital entertainment and coupled with the fears faced by parents in letting their children play outside unsupervised, many youngsters will spend the coming evenings in front of the television or video games console rather than running amok outside with their friends. This alarming reluctance to venture outdoors to play tag, hide and seek, cowboys and Indians or the current game of choice is being widely attributed to the rising tide of obesity in our youngsters.

So far this year, the media have highlighted this topic by reporting on health risks involved in being overweight - not just in children, but also in adults. Individuals who are classed as obese have a much higher chance of developing life changing diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and osteoarthritis, to name just a few. Also, from the opposite end of the range, these obesity reports are coupled with the recent ’size zero’ outcry that has inundated our celebrity-obsessed culture. However, both extremes court numerous health risks and the current buzzword to assess whether you are ‘too skinny’ or ‘too fat’ is BMI - Body Mass Index.

BMI looks at the ratio between your weight and height to assess what your body weight should be. The guide can then be used to establish whether an individual is of ‘normal’ weight or not; but there have been numerous debates as to whether BMI is an accurate assessment of health relating to weight as not everyone can agree on the point when someone becomes ‘healthy’ or ‘unhealthy’. With confusion about what you should eat or how much you should weigh, are we becoming a society obsessed with image or the possibility of a health crisis when our indulgencies finally catch up with us?

For providers of healthcare, these life style trends can cause concern. If the NHS is struggling to cope with the illnesses of an active generation, how will it cope with the consequences of the current sedentary generation? Some private medical insurance providers have jumped on the bandwagon and reward those members who lead a healthy life style or have a ‘normal’ BMI by offering a discount on their premiums. Alternatively, loadings can occur if your life style is not so healthy or your BMI a little higher than necessary.

But if the experts can’t agree on what your BMI should be how can your private medical insurance provider be so certain? Health-on-Line, for example have recognised this confusion and have removed the questions relating to height and weight from their application process. Just tell them your age and what you wish to be covered for and you will receive a competitive quote for the same amount whether you are large or small.

Tips For Learning A Foreign Language!

The internet is littered with websites claiming to teach you the language within ridiculously short periods of time. However I’ve generally found there aren’t many shortcuts to be had. I found it extremely useful to first learn the basic grammar points. Although this may not sound like much fun, it doesn’t take too long, and it enables you to have a very solid template to which apply the language, and in the long term will actually save you time. For example, I studied the German language, when it comes to verbs there are perhaps 4 or 5 variations of the infinitive form, depending on the subject (I, You informal and formal, We). However the changes that are applied to the end of the verb are consistent with each and every verb, (par a few strong verb exceptions). Once you’ve learned these changes then additional learning only requires you to memorise one word, which you can then adapt yourself.

I also think its important to practice what you have learnt, although this is not always that easy if your not residing in a the same country as the language you are learning, there are a few other ways. There is the possibility of creating a pen pal relationship, through the internet. There are thousands of people around the world wishing to learn English, so finding someone in the country of your chosen foreign language shouldn’t be too hard.

For those of you not residing in your chosen language country a good method for increasing your knowledge of the language and keeping your skills active are by learning and practicing a new word each day. Simply reminding yourself a few times a day and practising in pretend situations should help keep your skills intone for when you get to next visit the country!

Burned by Supernatural Fire

Ouch! Sounds painful. Third degree burns?
No, it is by far deeper and better than that
This is that which Joel foresaw and prophesied
The unquenchable flames of fire from up on high
Coming down in power to break and make men cry
Melt their hard hearts and give them reason why
To believe, love, and live for their Creator in heaven
Not just attend a church service an hour on Sunday
But to live for God wholeheartedly every week day
To empty our hearts of distractions getting in the way
Quiet our souls from loud mouths talking furiously
Salesman seeking to occupy our pockets monetarily
Media trying to bombard us with excessive information
In Christ all that matters is Spirit life and a new creation
Which renews, revitalizes, and dramatically revolutionizes
When supernatural fire mightily manifests and materializes
The power of divine Presence changes and transforms
Stripping souls of fear and the evil tendency to conform
Skeptics, critics, cold hearts, and callous religionists run
Fervently to the altar of God wholeheartedly seeking some
A warm touch, kiss, and embrace from the One loving Father
Who by Christ’s blood and Spirit makes us sons and daughters
Ignites us with a passion to pursue Him and launch out boldly
To tirelessly build His kingdom, work, and win souls globally
Plundering hell aggressively and populating heaven happily
With supernatural fire that burns intensely and magnificently
All the joyous rage once everybody tastes and does fully see
That Jesus our God is a consuming fire that feels wonderfully
His Holy Spirit burns deeply and energizes like electricity.

New Cars - The Best Time To Go Shopping For One

Just like any other product that you buy there is a good time to buy it and a not so good. Usually the time to buy something is determined by the season and the seasonality of the product and the quantity of the products on the market. The car market operates in a similar fashion and the best time to be shopping for a new, and sometimes used, car is after the twenty-fifth of the month. Right around the twenty-fifth of the month the dealerships are looking at their inventory and determining how many cars need to be sold by the end of the month. If the dealership has had a slow month they may have a really large inventory to sell. That means a better savings for the buyer.

Having sold cars for a while I saw this go into effect month after month as the sales manager would call a meeting and announce that there were certain incentives on slow moving models. The slow moving models weren’t usually bad cars they were just not as in style as the newer models and may not have some of the accessories the newer ones do. You have to decide as a buyer whether those new gadgets are worth spending the extra money to have them or not. Most of the ones that I have seen, such as, a one hundred ten volt outlet inside the car to plug a shaver into, aren’t really worth the money and would rarely if ever be used. Some newer features are quite useful too like the side air bags. Something like that would be worth paying a little extra for. It could be a life saver.

Unless you are a real automobile buff you are probably just looking for transportation so you don’t need all of the pricey add-ons. Those pricey add-ons have another effect on the price of re-sale of the car. They don’t contribute to it at all. You could pay thousands more for some add-ons that don’t add value to the vehicle. Things like stripes, fender flares, and ground effect options are all worthless when you go to sell or trade in the vehicle. A good example of this is a car that my wife had to have. The car had a special ground effect option which actually lowered the vehicle clearance to the ground making navigating curbs that much more challenging. She had to have the ground effect painted several times because she always ended running up on a curb in a parking lot. The ground effect in her case cost an extra five hundred dollars when she bought the car and only added five dollars when she traded it in. Even though the ground effect was restored to like new condition by a body shop it would have been cheaper to have them remove it than fix it and trade the car in.

So when you are looking for a car it will help save you money if you know what you really need and shop for a car that meets your needs. Plan to go after the twenty-fifth of the month for the best savings.

Should You Learn to Make Your Own Candles?

These days, there are as many candle companies as there are candle scents to choose from. Some companies have wonderful products, while others are less than desirable in both product and service. With decent candles available at local department stores and online, why would you want to make your own candles? Candle making is a fun and affordable hobby. Candle lovers spend hundreds of dollars annually on ready made candles, so why not learn how to make them yourself and perhaps not only save some money, but learn a new skill and develop a pleasurable past-time?

We are all familiar with the basic paraffin wax candle. There are, however, many different types of candle waxes that can be used to make candles. Beeswax, soy, and other vegetable blend waxes are available on the market that make candle creation easier and healthier for everyone. Natural waxes such as soy are safer not only in the fact that the wax does burn when touched, but also because when burned it does not emit toxic fumes into the air. There are also many decorative and useful containers that you can use to create candles in. Mason jars are a very popular candle container. You can also learn how to make decorative candles that look and smell like food and desserts. Your choices are really limited only to your imagination and ability level.

Some basic information about candle making is to have a safe area in which to make candles. Especially important when you’re first learning, a safe and ventilated area will ensure you learn the process correctly from the beginning and will not cause harm to yourself or your home. If you have a wax spill, just make sure to clean it up fast so you aren’t risking getting hurt from falls or having a big mess afterward.

Most people begin learning how to make candles with the simple votive candle. These useful little candles are easy to make and you can experiment with colors and scents. You can use this learning time to see what you like, what works and what doesn’t and also learn different wax temperatures and cooling processes. By starting off simple, you can enjoy learning and not risk getting frustrated and quitting before you become good at making candles.

Learning to make your own candles at home will save you money and give you a relaxing hobby once you have the process down pat. Don’t get frustrated if your first efforts at candle making are less than what you expected. Like anything, practice and patience will pay off with a beautiful, useful product that you can proudly display in your home or perhaps even turn into a profitable home business.

Mens Fitness - Find The Right Men’s Fitness Program Just For You

Men’s fitness programs are often designed differently than women’s fitness programs. Where women are mostly interested in weight loss and improved health and well-being men’s fitness programs are focused on adding mass and ‘bulking up.’

Men’s fitness programs give men two options - a solid buff body or a lean healthy body. Either reason that men choose to be in a fitness program they will receive many different health benefits. Research has shown that exercise will decrease cholesterol levels, decrease body fat, decrease risk for stroke, heart attack and cancer and improve circulation and an improved sense of well-being.

Before undertaking a men’s fitness program men should consult with their doctor. Although this may be against their basic feeling of immortality and ‘I can do anything’ attitude it is always better to check with the doctor to be sure that the planned activity will not interfere with a known medical condition or medication.

Men’s fitness programs can be accomplished at home or at a gym. This is a personal choice for men. There is no right or wrong answer. At home fitness programs are more convenient, take less time (no travel time to and from the gym), no membership fees and very private. You do have to purchase a couple of pieces of equipment that will do the job to achieve your goals.

At a gym you give up privacy and convenience for trainers, top-notch equipment and other men for motivation and socialization. If you do decide to join a gym for your men’s fitness program be sure to evaluate your options thoroughly. Look at convenience of drive time, price, the number and quality of trainers, equipment, services, childcare if it’s needed and the hours they are open. Also check with your employer since some have agreements with gyms for cheaper fees. Men’s fitness programs benefit your employer as well since a healthy company often pays cheaper insurance fees.

If you want to use a home gym be sure to evaluate the equipment to meet the needs of your men’s fitness program. Look at the price of the equipment, the space you have available for use and storage, reliability of the machine, function, and the number and variability of the exercises that are available on the machine.

To be successful men’s fitness programs must be made a priority in your fast paced lifestyle. This can be hard to accomplish, especially at first. Other commitments are vying for time and energies. There are work and family commitments as well as friends and relatives who all want a piece of your life. Sometimes men complain that after a long day at work the thought of working out is too tiring but interestingly working out will actually give you more energy! You have to make a commitment to your health and fitness program to be sure that it is successful.

Men’s fitness programs are also successful when they incorporate sports or activities that you enjoy. Most men feel out of place doing aerobics or yoga but a good game of basketball, raquetball or tennis is just what the doctor ordered. If you enjoy these sports don’t depend upon the occasional game (1 x a week) to meet the needs of a men’s fitness program. You should also include other activities to prepare your body for the one time a week all out effort that these sports require. Without preparation and conditioning there is a higher risk of injury and a higher health risk since you won’t be involved in a program that prepares your body but rather doing activities that create stress once a week.

A good men’s fitness program will engage your mind and your passion and give you a reason to continue to workout week after week. This is a lifetime commitment to health and wellness that will decrease your health risks and give you a whole new outlook on life.

Network Marketing - Finding That Big Leader

I can’t count the number of times that I have had someone pitch a network marketing opportunity to me and promising total financial freedom once I land the big leader.

Joining a network marketing opportunity with finding the big leader in mind is sort of like playing lotto. Here you join this network marketing company and instead of you learning how to do the business yourself you are hoping for someone else to come along and build your organization for you. It just doesn’t really work that way in real life. If you want to recruit a big leader then you have to be an even bigger leader. Ask yourself this, if you were a very successful business person, and you had a lot of contacts and you were a connector, a person who got things done would you join a network marketing opportunity with someone just looking for a free ride? Probably not, why would you. If you were going to join a network marketing you would want to join with someone who is successful and has the same drive that you had when you were working in your traditional job.

So, if you want to join a network marketing opportunity and have people with leadership qualities in your organization then you are going to have to be a leader yourself to attract them. You stand a better chance of becoming a leader if you first find a network marketing company that you like and like the products. Some of the products that network marketing companies offer are edible, some are nutritional, and some are intangible similar to a insurance product. You have to look over each type of product and not only find one you like but one that you would be comfortable offering to people. When I started looking at companies I went for the intangible product, a discount plan, and found that I had to be selling all the time to make that one work and that wasn’t good for me since I was working my network marketing opportunity part-time. I have since switched to a edible product and that one is working quite well for me since there is a very low drop-out rate.

It is frustrating to build up an organization only to have it keep crumbling down on you. So you have to find the perfect fit with the right company the right product and the right sponsor. Your sponsor is the one that will train you to be a success in your chosen company. Once you learn the business and start having success of your own your chances of finding that big leader increase dramatically, but there is still no guarantee. So to have a leader on your team you be the leader. If someone comes along who happens to be a leader and joins your team great, but if not you will still be a success.

Find Out How to Get Rid of Pimples and Acne With Simple Methods

Treating Acne and Pimples can be a real pain: They attack in groups, and always seem to come back. I’ve put together simple tips to help you get rid of Pimples and Acne for good. Remember, the more active and persistent you are, the more improvement you will see.

Here’s how you can Get Rid of Acne and Pimples:

  1. Exfoliate & Cleanse: Exfoliating helps by removing layers of dead skin which can clog pores and make acne more severe. Exfoliate with scrubs after cleaning the skin. Use skin specific products (Oily / Dry / Combination).
  2. Live Oil free: Use oil-free lotions, cosmetics and sunscreens. Look for product labels that read Non-comedogenic, meaning they won’t clog pores.
  3. Medicate: Benzoyl peroxide is the most common topical treatment. Start with a 5% gel or lotion, apply once a day and gradually increase to twice a day. If Acne persists, consider using Antibiotics, Retin-A, or Accutane in extreme cases. Some of these medications have side effects and are doctor prescribed.
  4. No picking: Don’t pick, pop or squeeze, or otherwise mess with your skin. It makes acne worse.
  5. Keep it fresh: Wash your pillowcases and face towels as often as possible.
  6. Unclog quickly: Tight sport uniforms and sweat aren’t good for acne. Get undressed and shower as soon as you can after the workout. On the other hand, being active can decrease acne.
  7. Protect: The Sun is bad for acne and your skin in general. Use oil-free, non comedogenic sunscreen with 15-30 SPF.
  8. Follow directions: Not using the treatment as directed is the most common reason the treatment fails.
  9. Keep the peace: After exfoliating, use products that moderate sebum exertion and keep the pores unclogged.
  10. Be patient: It takes time to see improvement in most treatments, in some up to 6 weeks. Give each treatment enough time to work.
  11. Don’t overdo it: Too much scrubbing makes skin worse. Too much benzoyl peroxide or Retin-A cream makes your face red and scaly. Too much oral antibiotic may cause side effects.

It’s a fact that getting rid of pimples and acne is a lot more effective with the right arsenal. Want to find the best treatments & products? Read more at my blog. Good luck with the treatment!

Stop Loss Order - Are They Right For You?

I have been trading stocks now for over ten years and have never used a stop-loss order. There are several opinions as to whether you should use a stop-loss order or not but it comes down to your personal preference and trading style. If you are the type of trader or stock investor that takes long positions it really doesn’t matter just as long as you have quality companies in your portfolio.

During my years trading stocks I have set-up several accounts where I only paper trade to try out new techniques. The dummy portfolios range from tech stocks to under three dollar stocks. I also have dummy portfolios set-up for the various sectors that include the ETF’s for those sectors along with stocks of the most prominent companies in the sector.

The dummy portfolios where I have lost the most “money” is the three dollar and under stocks. It seems that the smallest companies where you could really make some money if they took off provide you with an opportunity to lose the most also. The stocks may seem cheap but if you look deep into the fundamentals of the company you will see that they aren’t really cheap at all. They just appear cheap because the stock is only three dollars. For someone who wants to trade those cheap stocks a stop-loss order would probably benefit you because if the economy itself doesn’t cause the prices of the cheap stock to go down the company usually has a secondary offering to raise cash that drives the stock lower.

If you are trading large high-quality companies you could actually be worse off from using a stop-loss. Let’s say that you had a hundred shares of XYZ company that you paid thirty three dollars per share for and you place a stop loss order to exit the trade if the price drops to thirty two dollars. Ok, so you are two days into owning your one hundred shares of XYZ corporation at thirty three dollars and it has already gone up five percent so you are making money on it then out of no where comes a newsflash that a terrorist may have a bomb in a key government building and a bomb squad is on the way..etc. Once the news hits the airwaves the stock market takes a big tumble and your shares of XYZ company drop to thirty-one dollars for one second and your stop-loss order is executed. One hour later the news comes back on and says that the terrorist threat was a hoax it was only someone working on the elevators in the building that scared someone into calling 911.

Three hours after you were taken out of your trade the price of XYZ shares go to thirty four dollars per share and continues climbing due to good news that the company just announced about a new product it is bringing to the marketplace. In that example you were whipsawed out of your position and turned what would have been a winning trade into a loser. In those cases instead of using a stop loss it would have been better to buy more shares of XYZ company as they went on sale if only briefly.

If you have a really profitable position in a stock and you are concerned about the recent quarters earnings report you may be better off just selling your position, but the next best thing in that case would be a stop-loss order to preserve some of your profits should the earnings news come out bad.
