Hair Restoration Procedure

Hair restoration is the surgical procedure aimed at permanently correcting male pattern baldness. It is a generic term to define a number of methods used to restore hair to balding areas. Hair restoration methods involve topical, oral and surgical treatments.

Various methods of hair restoration surgery

There are various methods of hair restoration surgery for you to choose from. The two chief methods that you can opt for are - a.) Scalp Flap Surgery and b.) Scalp Reduction Surgery.

A.-Scalp flap surgery - It entails moving a flap of skin and underlying tissues from one scalp area to the other. The surgeon first cuts out a section of the scalp where there is no hair growth He then replaces it by a flap of hair-bearing scalp. The size and placement of the flap will depend on your requirements. You do not need to worry about the scar. It will be covered by the relocated hair.

The objective of this hair restoration method is used to rectify a non-traumatic cosmetic defect. It is also used to repair a traumatic injury site and restore its functionality and cosmetic appearance. Another use of scalp flap surgery is repairing a skin defect caused by congenital malformation. The advantages of this hair restoration surgery procedure include natural frontal hairline, proper hair placement in temporal areas, hair pattern distortion avoidance, etc. However, it runs the risk of certain side effects. They include permanent hair loss at donor sites, scarring at donor or recipient sites, blood supply failure to the flap, etc.

B.-Scalp Reduction Surgery - Scalp reduction surgery is the hair restoration procedure usually meant for people with posterior baldness. It is into removing bald scalp and bringing the half-bearing scalp closer to it to fill in the bald area in the scalp. In this hair restoration surgery the surgeon reduces the baldness by cutting out a segment of the bald scalp skin. The hair restoration process in scalp reduction surgery has two parts. The first part includes the surgical removal of the bald portion of the scalp. The other part entails hair-bearing scalp being upwardly stretched to replace the bald scalp that has been removed. You many need the scalp reduction surgery to be conducted in combination with the surgical procedure called brow lifting. This procedure removes the frown lines from the forehead and crow’s feet from around the eyes. In your case this surgical procedure can be carried out through scalp extension or scalp expansion device. In this technique the hair-bearing scalp skin is stretched causing better coverage to bald areas of the scalp. This hair restoration surgery is often combined with hair transplantation. What’s the objective? Well, one possible objective is to “fine tune” hair restoration in your anesthetically sensitive areas. One example of such an area is your frontal hairline.

The scalp reduction surgery can be conducted before, during or after hair transplantation. The appropriate time will be identified mainly on the basis of your need. How to decide which scalp reduction technique is correct for you? That depends on various factors like your hair loss degree, laxity of the scalp, donor hair amount, etc. The possible complications and side effects that you may face include scarring at the suture lines, scalp skin “stretch back” at the excised bald area and central midline scar called slot deformity.

C.-Recent advances in hair transplantation - The emergence of some relatively recent advances in hair transplantation techniques offer better surgery outcomes for pattern baldness. These new hair restoration techniques are less complicated and painful.

Follicular Unit Transplantation - At present it is considered to be the most reliable hair transplant technique. Its success rate is almost 10 per cent. A follicular unit is a physiological unit that needs to be extracted and transplanted as an intact unit. Its advantages include natural looking hair, more effective surgery due to the use of stereoscopic microscopes for dissection, avoidance of damage to the follicular unit, etc. However, it is a time consuming procedure.

Direct Hair Implant (DHI) - The minimally invasive hair transplant procedure for follicular hair transplant, DHI is free from the use of scalpel, stitches and a donor strip. The technique is based on the transportation technique named Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). FUE exemplifies the latest extraction procedure for follicular unit transplants procedure. FUE includes the use of custom-made, precise micro-surgical tools. There is direct extraction of follicular units one by one, instead of dissection. One main advantage of FUE is possibility of quality control during the transplantation procedure. Besides, it is a simple and painless procedure.

Choosing the right clinic

Be very careful while choosing your hair restoration clinic. A standard clinic will successfully help you realize your hair restoration dream. On the other hand the selection of a wrong clinic will lead to a faulty service. The various factors that determine the credibility of a clinic include the feedback of former patients, legal status (i.e. whether any lawsuits are pending against the clinic), the professional kills of the surgeon, etc.

Charles Browwn has been studying the hair restoration process for a number of years. He is associated with a number of clinics as counselor. Besides, she regularly writes columns on http://www.hairrestoration.info/follicle-unit-preservation.shtml) Hair Restoration Surgery in various magazines and newspapers.

Types Of Prescription Lenses

Your preferences are the best guides for you to find the perfect prescription glasses and lenses for your needs. You could make your own decisions about the various lenses, which are accessible to you when purchasing prescription glasses. You could probably start by considering your lifestyle, and thinking about when and how you going to use it. Then, it is must to read about prescription lens features, options, and other services that are offered. After which you would be able to choose from the menu of prescription lens options the features, which would most support your lifestyle.

Types of prescription eyewear lens

Single vision lenses

Your eyes might require vision improvement only for distance, only for reading purpose, or even for both. If you require correction only for distance vision, then you probably only want single vision lenses. With single vision lenses, you could look through all areas of the lens and it is visible clearly. If you desire vision improvement only for reading and in case you do not have astigmatism, then you could even purchase non-prescription reading glasses. If you do have astigmatism, you should go for prescription reading glasses. In either case, these are only considered single vision lenses.

Progressive lenses

Progressive lenses are sometimes as well recognizedas no-line bifocals, which are in fact trifocal lenses without the visible lines. Progressive lenses were urbanized as many people required the convenience of not having to change their prescription glasses for reading purpose, but they did not like other people to see the visible line. Progressive lenses do have an additional benefit however, which is that you sense a soft transition when you move your eyes from far away objects to close up objects. With a lined bifocal, the transition among viewing areas could even be somewhat uncomfortable.

Multifocal lenses

If you require vision adjustment for both distance and for reading purpose, then you could use two pairs of glasses, and swap depending on what you require to see. Or, you could even choose multifocal lenses (bifocal lenses, trifocal lenses, or progressive lenses). Many people find it not convenient to swap every now and then to another pair in order to read something.

Multifocal lenses divide the lens, so that part of the lens is kept for reading and another part of the lens is kept for distance vision. Bifocal (two areas) and trifocal (three areas) lenses have visible lines, which separate the diverse areas of the lens.

Prescription reading glasses

Non-prescription reading glasses just enlarge objects that are close to us, like the letters in a book. Your eye doctor could only decide the magnification power, which is most excellent for you, or you could figure it out by yourself through test and error. A doctor’s prescription is not sometime necessary in order to choose a reading lens. Drugstore reading glasses are just eyeglasses frames with enlarging lenses pre-loaded in a range of powers with stock lens powers. It is typically less costly to buy reading eyeglasses this way, but stock lens powers hardly ever offer an optimal vision correction. For best results, reading lenses with magnification customized to your requirements could be installed in any pair of eyeglasses frames.

Do You Know About Blue-Thooth?

Blue tooth is initially conceived by Ericsson. The five founding members of the Bluetooth SIG are Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Nokia and Toshiba. On December 1, 1999, the founding members announced that 3COM, Lucent, Microsoft, and Motorola have joined the founders to form the Promoter Group with the founding companies. To date, more than 1,200 companies have signed on. Bluetooth is a standard for a small, cheap radio chip to be plugged into computers, printers, mobile phones, etc.

Blue thooth is a cable-replacement technology. It uses radio frequencies in the 2.45 GHz range to transmit information over short distances of generally 33 feet (10 meters) or less. By embedding a Bluetooth chip and receiver into products, cables that would normally carry the signal can be eliminated.

A Bluetooth chip is designed to replace cables by taking the information normally carried by the cable, and transmitting it at a special frequency to a receiver Bluetooth chip, which will then give the information received to the computer, phone whatever.

Bluetooth definitions

- Piconet: Devices connected in an ad hoc fashion that is, not requiring predefinition and planning, as with a standard network. Two to eight devices can be networked into a piconet. It is a peer network that is, once connected each device has equal access to the others. However, one device is defined as master, and the others as slaves.

- Scatternet: Several piconets may form a larger scatternet, with each piconet maintaining independence.

- Master unit: The master in a piconet whose clock and hopping sequence synchronizes the other devices.

- Slave unit: Devices in a piconet that are not the master.

- MAC address: Three bit address that distinguishes each unit in a piconet.

- Parked units: Piconet devices that are synchronized but don’t have MAC addresses.

- Sniff and hold mode: Power-saving mode of a piconet device.

Overview of Bluetooth characteristics

These are the features of the Bluetooth technology:

1. It separates the frequency band into hops. This spread spectrum is used to hop from one channel to another, which adds a strong layer of security.

2. Up to eight devices can be networked in a piconet.

3. Signals can be transmitted through walls and briefcases, thus eliminating the need for line-of-sight.

4. Devices do not need to be pointed at each other, as signals are omni-directional.

5. Both synchronous and asynchronous applications are supported, making it easy to implement on a variety of devices and for a variety of services, such as voice and Internet.

6. Governments worldwide regulate it, so it is possible to utilize the same standard wherever one travels.

How could Bluetooth be used?

Well, it’s very much up to our imagination. But the ambition is set high, indeed; practically all computerized equipment normally found in a modern office (and home) which do not use a synchronous communications protocol could be adapted for use with Bluetooth.

Check this list:
Phones and pagers, Modems, LAN access devices, Headsets, Notebook computers,
Desktop and handheld computers, Printers, Fax machines, Keyboards, Joysticks etc

Virtually any digital device can be part of the Bluetooth system. Bluetooth radio technology can also provide a universal bridge to existing data networks, a peripheral interface, and a mechanism to form small ad hoc groupings of connected devices, away from fixed network infrastructures. The dynamic connectivity-nature of Bluetooth makes it possible for this system to replace USB, and it is an improvement on Plug-and-Play-systems, where the operating system has to be rebooted for the installation to take effect.

Basic Bluetooth functions

The Bluetooth technology is quite complex. This is not so surprising, considering the task it has to handle. It is mainly based on the IEEE 802.11 standard, briefly described at right. Of the 2 network modes described, Bluetooth uses the ad-hoc mode. This means that each station must observe “netiqette” and give all other units fair access to the wireless media.

The IEEE 802.11 communications standard defines the protocol for two types of networks; Ad-hoc and client/server.

  • The Ad-hoc network is a simple network where communications are established between multiple stations in a given coverage area without the use of an access point or server.
  • The client/server network uses an access point that controls the allocation of transmit time for all stations and allows mobile stations to roam from cell to cell. The access point is used to handle traffic from the mobile radio to the wired or wireless backbone of the client/server network. This arrangement allows for point coordination of all the stations in the basic service area and ensures proper handling of the data traffic. The access point routes data between the stations and other wireless stations or to and from the network server.

    How does Blue Tooth works?

Bluetooth uses frequency hopping in timeslots. Bluetooth has been designed to operate in noisy radio frequency environments, and uses a fast acknowledgement and a frequency-hopping scheme to make the communications link robust, communication-wise. Bluetooth radio modules avoid interference from other signals by hopping to a new frequency after transmitting or receiving a packet.
Compared with other systems operating in the same frequency band, the Bluetooth radio typically hops faster and uses shorter packets. This is because short packages and fast hopping limit the impact of microwave ovens and other sources of disturbances. Use of Forward Error Correction (FEC) limits the impact of random noise on long-distance links.

    Establishing network connections

In order to establish new connections the procedures inquiry and paging are used. The inquiry procedure enables a unit to discover which units are in range, and what their device addresses and clocks are. With the paging proce-dure, an actual connection can be established. Only the Bluetooth device address is required to set up a connection. Knowledge about the clock will accelerate the setup procedure. A unit that establishes a connection will carry out a page procedure and will automatically become the master of the connection.

For the paging process, several paging schemes can be applied. There is one mandatory paging scheme which has to be supported by each Bluetooth device. This mandatory scheme is used when units meet for the first time, and in case the paging process directly follows the inquiry process. Two units, once connected using a mandatory paging/scanning scheme, may agree on an optional paging/scanning scheme.

What kind of traffic can Bluetooth handle?

Bluetooth is specifically designed to provide low-cost, robust, efficient, high capacity, ad hoc voice and data networking with the following characteristics:

    1. 1 Mb/sec. transmission/reception rate exploits maximum available channel bandwidth.
    2. Fast frequency hopping avoids interference.
    3. Adaptive output power minimizes interference.
    4. Short data packets maximize capacity during interference.
    5. Fast acknowledge allows low coding overhead for links.
    6. CVSD (Continuous Variable Slope Delta Modulation) voice coding enables operation at high bit-error rates.
    7. Flexible packet types supports a wide application range.
    8. Relaxed link budget supports low-cost single chip integration.
    9. Transmission/reception interface tailored to minimize electric current consumption

    What about Bluetooth’s security?

Security can mean two things in this context:

    - A) We want to be sure that transmitted data arrives in un-corrupted condition to the receiver.

    - B) We also want to feel that this data has not been eaves dropped by parties for whom it is not intended.

Both of these issues are (of course!) addressed by Bluetooth.

    Safe transmission of data

Are transmissions secure in a business and home environment? Yes, they are supposed to be quite reliable. Bluetooth has built in sufficient encryption and authentication and is thus very secure in any environment. In addition to this, a frequency-hopping scheme with 1600 hops/sec. is employed. This is far quicker than any other competing system. This, together with an automatic output power adoption to reduce the range exactly to requirement, makes the system extremely difficult to eavesdrop.

  • SoulerFlare # 1 - Imagination and Curiosity

Today’s thought builds on two quotes by one of my favorite thinkers, Albert Einstein. He made his reputation as a scientist, but I believe he was as much philosopher as scientist-perhaps the key to his success.

    Einstein said:

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.”

“Imagination is more important than knowledge.”

Einstein’s genius came from his ability to employ imagination to see things never conceived by other scientists. He was a master of “thought experiments”. While most scientists use test tubes and equipment to test hypotheses, the theories Einstein was pursuing were not testable in a laboratory.

He had to rely on imagination and curiosity to verify his ideas. He had to open his mind and expand his soul to see possibilities where others saw only emptiness. He literally gave birth to some of the greatest ideas in human history directly out of the cosmic void.

One example is the thought experiment that led Einstein to his special theory of relativity. He famously imagined himself racing with a beam of light. He reported an epiphany when he “saw” time slow as he approached the speed of light.

Einstein followed his curiosity. He abandoned old paradigms at a time when many of his colleagues believed those paradigms immutable. The new ideas that resulted fundamentally transformed the world and our conception of it.

What about you? You see, there was nothing unique about Albert Einstein. He was intellectually brilliant, no doubt. However, by his admission, the difference makers are curiosity and imagination.

Are you willing to allow your curiosity and imagination to carry you beyond the physical and mental horizons that have become your defacto life boundaries?

The power is right there within you. Release it today. Have some fun with it. Who knows how your curiosity and imagination will change the world. A hundred years from now it just may be your story of discovery inspiring humanity.

    Ruining Lives With Mis-Information

    Ruining lives with Mis-Information

During my school years, high school, college and some graduate school, I was always taught, that when writing a paper, or anything for that matter, your information should be correct, and that all sources should be checked. This has come up a few times in the past years, in some of our most revered newspapers and magazines. The problem, though, has become that this is not the same for the internet.

As noted on my website, I have been working for an airline, for a long period of time. It has been a big surprise to me about some of the nonfactual and other items that are not correct on some travel oriented websites. Even thought I have even sent e-mails to the webmasters of some very well known sites, they still do not change the information if it is wrong or different.

All of us in the “web making” community, must start to hold these people accountable for the wrong information they post. In the case of the website I am talking about, I believe that the airline I work for has lost money over the wrong information that has been made. This intern helps us lose passengers, profit for the company I work for, and in the end, raises for the people I work with, of which, affects our families.

I can promise on thing, if you see any information on our website that is incorrect, we will change it, but I do doubt this will happen, as we check our sources, again and again.

A Vital Understanding in Creating An Abundant Life - Nobody Deserves Anything

    Nobody deserves anything.

Disappointed? Don’t be! This may be one of the most important concepts you can wrap your mind around. It is a hugely important understanding to grasp if you are experiencing any lack in your life. Whether or not you have what you need and desire has nothing at all to do with deserving. It has everything to do with whether you are allowing it.

The notion of deserving or not deserving has no basis at all in Truth, and no reality other than that which we give it. In the eyes of the Divine, there is no such thing as deserving or not deserving. Source gives endlessly, consistently, impersonally and totally without judgment. The only one that withholds the flow of Life Force, Love, abundance or any desirable thing is the human ego.

Yes, the concept of deserving was concocted by the ego-mind as a tool for controlling-and primarily restricting-the flow of Source energy, the font of all forms of abundance. The criteria of deserving and of not deserving are just aspects of yet another form of ego’s favorite tool: judgment. Judgment is ego’s way of limiting the flow of Love/Life Force and holding us at lower vibrational frequency in the realm where it has power. The deserve/don’t deserve gimmick has been hugely successful for ego and is responsible for keeping multitudes of humans stuck in poverty and unhappiness.

If you are laboring under the notion that you must deserve something to have it, you are creating a block in the flow and not allowing the abundance of Source to flow to you the way it is naturally inclined to. You probably have standards in your mind for when you, or someone else, deserves something or not. Maybe it’s when you’ve done enough hard work, or you’ve been virtuous according to some moral code, or you’ve endured a certain amount of hardship. But none of these have anything to do with how much or how little abundance you have except that you are using them to decide whether to allow the flow or not.

All that we receive comes from Source through our willingness to allow it. The idea of deserving and not deserving the bounty that is always pouring forth from Source is a purely human device-a choice we make to withhold it from ourselves based on a faulty idea. Source is completely unconditional and gives freely; likewise, we are to receive freely and unconditionally. The more we align with Source and allow the flow of abundance, the happier and more prosperous we’ll be. Dropping the notions of “I deserve” and “I don’t deserve” allows us to receive all that Source has to offer.

The Science of Gayatri Yajnas - An Introduction

All activities of the entire cosmos revolve around the axis of Yajnas. Great Rishis of yore proclaim: “Ayam Yajno Vishwasya Bhuvanasya Naabhihi” (Atharva Veda 9/15/14). It means Yajnas are the central focus of this cosmos. The divine singer of Bhagwad Geeta i.e. Lord Krishna too says: “Sahayajnaahaa prajaahaa purovaacha prajapatihi. Anaina prasavishvadhwamesha vostvishtakaamadhuka.”(3/10). It means that at the beginning of this Kalpa (creation) Brahma after creating Yajnas, living beings etc advised them to propagate via the medium of Yajnas because these Yajnas will fulfill your material/spiritual needs. Yajnas are those extremely precious boons given to world humanity by Vedic Rishis of ancient India which is a foundation stone of material/spiritual bliss and maintaining a healthy ecosystem (especially today when world leaders are worried about environmental pollution and global warming).

Every word of the nectar like writings of HH Gurudeva Shriram Sharma Acharya throws light on the great foundation stones of Divine Culture viz. Yajnas and Science of Super Mantra Gayatri. He elucidates the miraculous results of divine energy emitted via Gayatri Mantra chanting and thus the vital energy of the Gayatri devotee becomes more potent by leaps and bounds. Our revered author-seer uprooted (symbolically and not literally) the erroneous concept of Yajnas which were based on mythological (Puranas) description and instead reinstated Super Mantra Gayatri Yajnas based on Vedic precepts. Such Gayatri Yajnas were ‘hungrily’ imbibed by thousands of devotees since their resultant benefits were incredible to say the least. This we can emphatically say is a revolutionary endeavor of this era. It is even greater in stature when compared to the revolution of post Yogiraj Gorakhnath’s times wherein thousands were obstructed from misusing Tantra spiritual practices including Tantra based Yajnas. (During Gorakhnathji’s life time Tantra was used most appropriately but it was after the great sage shed his mortal coil that rampant misuse of Tantra by ignoramuses set in). Today thanks to our revered Yuga Rishiji in so many pious households Gayatri Yajnas are being performed regularly so that an optimum sacred environment sets in to usher in a radiant world future in the 21st Century.

While giving us the true meaning of the sacred word ‘Yajna’ our revered author says that our life should it self become a Yajna both internally and externally. While throwing light on Bhagwad Geeta’s verse viz. “Yajnaarthaat karmanonyatra lokoyam karmabandhanaha” he says a supremely great life involves executing actions based on the spirit of Yajnas. Other than these all actions bind us to this world and obstruct a living being from merging into God who is the cosmic being and eternal divine bliss manifest. The word ‘Yajna’ cannot be limited to the uttering ‘Swaahaa’ while carrying out fire sacrifices which offer sacred materials to the Yajna deity. Instead Yajna means purifying our personality from its very fount so that divinity oozes from the pore of man’s entire being (this is true personality development). True worship of God encompasses respecting latent divine powers in the deep recesses of the soul and awakening them. Manu Smriti says: “Mahaayajnaishcha braahmeeyam kriyatay tanuhu”. It means a supreme Yajna is one wherein man living a life of divine virtues constantly perseveres to sanctify his body, mind and soul from their very roots.

Yajna is a high stature endeavor executed for supreme material and spiritual gains. First the inner world imbibes divinity and then after offering Prana to Apan and vice versa Samidha (wood fuel of fire sacrifice) in the form of ones life is offered in the Yajna called world welfare. Thus know for sure that this indeed is the elucidation of a true Yajna. If our sentimental arena exudes greatness and translates the same in external social, professional and other activities indeed it becomes a true Yajna. Our revered author by giving such an extraordinary meaning of a Yajna has actually echoed the root meaning of Yajnas as per Vedic injunctions. In the Sanskrit language the word Yajna emerges from its root ‘Yaja’ which comnnotes worship of divinity, association with great saints, congregation of pious people and rendering the world powerful via international brotherhood and unity.

Amongst the 24 Avatars is included the Lord of Yajnas. Yajna is a worship icon in Indian culture and any action that does not include a Yajna basis cannot even be dreamt of. While describing the scientific aspect of Yajnas our revered author says it is a very important principle in keeping well managed all cosmic activities. Satiating divine elements means maintaining a healthy balance amongst all cosmic forces (material and spiritual) that manage this world. In today’s modern day context you can say that Yajna is akin to a ‘tax’. Just as if you do not pay taxes governmental tax authorities can punish you so too if you do not show gratefulness to nature (for giving you free air, water, light etc without billing you!) by offering materials (Ahuti) in Yajnas nature shows her wrath in the form of natural calamities like earthquakes, famines, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis etc. Thus the scientific basis of averting natural calamities is Yajna.

Social Work Caused Me Too Much Stress

Not many people fall into social work, and if they do they either take to it or get out fast. It is often thought of as a vocation. For people that enjoy the work it gives them an enormous sense of fulfillment and achievement. However, this and a host of other factors can lead to stress both acute and chronic. This can lead to burnout and ultimately ill health. This article will examine some of the causes of stress in social work.

The definition of Social work taken from the International Federation of Social Workers is

“The social work profession promotes social change, problem solving in human relationships and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance well-being.

Utilizing theories of human behavior and social systems, social work intervenes at the points where people interact with their environments.

Principles of human rights and social justice are fundamental to social work.”

So in effect this is all encompassing work. It deals with human social cooperation and relationships from children to old age. It deals with child welfare, domestic issues of violence to women, physical and mental disabilities and equality and old age welfare and dignity to name just a few.

Many people do this work because they relate to the problems that people are facing. Either they have a relative or friend that has faced this problem or they are facing the problem themselves. Whatever the case may be, they often find it very hard not to become emotionally involved in the particular case they are handling. In this respect they never switch off from work. The issues they are facing often can’t be switched off or locked up at the end of the day. The issues affect a persons life 24 hours a day.

This means the social worker is probably thinking about these problems constantly. This could interfere with their sleeping patterns and cause them to lose sleep. They can interfere with the social worker’s ability to have a social life and keep their own life harmonious. So becoming too emotionally involved is the number one cause of stress in a social workers life.

Another cause of stress for social workers is closely related to the first. Often they will be caused to go above and beyond their skill set because they feel responsible for the person they are working with. Often they are not adequately trained for the job they are doing or the organization they work for has not defined the boundaries of the work clearly enough. If there is a shortage of staff (and there always is) clearly defined roles are blurred and social workers have to do more than one job. This can lead to stress through overworking and meeting impossible deadlines.

The final point is that many social work jobs will entail dealing with a degree of grief. Some cases may end tragically and some cases will end without any resolution. This can lead to the social worker having to deal with strong feelings of sadness or frustration. If they do not deal with these emotions they could compound on each other and cause chronic stress. This could lead to burnout and ill health.
