Chocolate Covered Fruit

I think all of us have eaten chocolate covered fruit. It is one of the most wonderful taste combinations, chocolate and strawberries, or chocolate and pineapple.

Making chocolate covered fruit is not only simple but also very elegant looking when preparing desserts for guests.

The simplest way to make chocolate covered fruit is to buy chocolate chips and melt them down. I buy both brown chocolate and white chocolate. I’ll buy either chips or bars and then melt them over a very low fire.

All fruit must be dry before dipping. If you wash the fruit, make sure to paper towel off the water, so that when you dip, the fruit is dry.

I line a cookie sheet with waxed paper and after dipping transfer the fruit to the waxed paper. I then chill in the refrigerator.

Mix and match strawberries, pineapple wedges, maraschino cherries, apples and pears. I’ve also dipped dried food to add to the platter I’m making. If you don’t use white chocolate, try using marshmallows, and dipping half of the marshmallow in chocolate, so that you have a lot of white showing on your platter.

I’ve seen beautiful skewers with mandarin oranges used as spacers. Dip your fruit in chocolate and put the orange slices, un-dipped in the middle of your dipped fruit.

Try dipping strawberries or maraschino cherries and adding them to the top of pudding or ice cream for a very pretty visual look.

Make or buy a pound cake. Cut the pound cake into squares. Dip half of the square in chocolate and mix on the platter with your dipped fruit.

When you use fruits such as strawberries and pineapple you are able to have green on your dessert platter also.

Are you feeling brave? Once you dip the fruit, try sprinkling coconut or chopped nuts over the chocolate. If kids will be eating the fruit, try sprinkling M&M’s or Reeses Pieces over the fruit.

It’s fun to arrange dessert platters with assorted fruits, some in white chocolate, some in milk chocolate, some with nuts on them, and some with coconut on them. Experiment and enjoy a delicious yet very simple dessert.

Bon Appetite!!

Online Bingo Jobs - A Beginners Guide To Internet Bingo

We’ve come up with some top tips if you are new to playing online bingo help you prevent getting your fingers burnt.

Avoid Crowded Games - statistically in bingo the more people playing the less likely you are to pick up the jackpot. So as a consequence it’s worth trying to avoid excessively busy games. It does nothing for your odds and often the speed of the chat facilities can be a bit overwhelming for beginners. So look out for games with fewer players it makes winning that little bit easier.

Bigger the cost the bigger the prize - some online bingo cards cost more than others. Normally there is a relationship between the entry cost and the prize money. So if you fancy a shot at a big prize you might have to stump up a little more cash to play. Like every form of online gambling never spend more than you can afford to lose as just like in real life bingo there is no prize guarantees when it comes to bingo.

Shop around for introductory offers - lots of online bingo websites are crying out for customers, so lots of them offer enticing introductory offers. It’s worth having a shop round for the best deal. There’s also no reason to not try out a few. You won’t be tied down to a particular site so try a few to see which you like the best.

Find a good online community - it’s worth having a looking round for good online bingo communities and message boards. There will be plenty on tips on how to do well in the games as well as recommendations of the best bingo sites. Plus there are plenty of chances to get chatting to other keen bingo players.

Choose well known sites - Most of the online bingo websites are reputable but like any online transaction you’ve got to keep your wits about you. If you’re just getting started it might be worth sticking to the well known high street brands. They are the most reliable and worse come to worse you can always talk to a real person in your local branch if anything goes wrong.

Look out for special events - certain special events have large events with big prizes. It’s worth keeping your eyes open for the bigger prizes, there’s always more people playing in the big games but there’s plenty of money up for grabs.

Choose a site with good chat facilities - just like normal bingo the socialising is big part of the fun. Most of the websites have chat facilities so look out for the best technology to make the most of the social aspects of online bingo.

How Do You Learn To Dance?

There is much confusion amongst the general public about how you can learn to dance. It seems that everyone wants to learn to dance. How many people when you ask them the things that they would like to learn one day mention dancing? From my experience pretty much everyone. But how many people go through the effort to learn?

There is a myth out there that all dancers were born with the gift of dancing. My take on that is this: all dancers were born with the gift of dancing, and we were all given that gift! There are those who seemed to just drop out of their mother’s womb dancing. However don’t let the tears well up if this is not you, there is a dancer in everyone and it is something that can be unearthed.

The baby dancing on arrival in the world is a good analogy. A baby probably won’t be able to talk for the first few years of its life. Then the words come out one by one, then sentences, and then absurdities on arrival of the teenage years. If I told you that I knew a 5 year old who could talk, would your face transform into an expression of surprise? (I’m hoping you answered ‘no’).

You give a baby as long as it needs to learn to talk or walk because you know that it will learn. With dancing it is just the same, it may seem unnatural at first, but with a bit of practice you can dance pretty well. And it won’t take you as long as it took you to learn to talk!

The transition from walking and moving about normally into dancing is not as huge as it is made up to be. It is a case of making certain simple movements gestures, linking them up in interesting ways and making it look good! Of course when it comes to learning routines and choreography, that’s another skill in and of itself!

So what’s the answer to the golden question? How do you learn to dance? Well there are many ways. You could learn by copying your favourite artists such as Janet Jackson, Usher or J.Lo and studying their music videos. In fact, this is the way famous MTV choreographer Wade Robson learnt to dance. If you are naturally a good dancer, this could be a good approach.

Another way you could learn is to make friends with people who are good dancers and either copy them or try and get them to show you how to do a few of their moves. This is great, especially if you spend a lot of time with these friends.

The easiest way you can learn to dance is to join a dance class. There will usually be at least a couple of these in your area, maybe even a dance studio offering a variety of different classes from different teachers. If you are not naturally a dancer, joining a dance class or series of classes is probably the best option for you. Even if you can dance and learnt on your own, there are still plenty of things you can learn from joining a dance class. If you are at all serious about dancing as a profession, you should DEFINITELY be going to classes unless you are privileged enough to be the son/ daughter of a talented dancer or have lots of great contacts/ dancer friends.

The good thing about dance classes is that they are usually grouped into rough ability levels so if you are a beginner you can find a class at your level until you get better. Even so, it can feel as if you are throwing yourself in at the deep end when you begin, but nonetheless, just like you did with the walking and talking, STICK AT IT. You will get better.

As you go to more and more classes, you will start to build up the pieces of the puzzle of that style and soon you’ll be dancing more confidently. The important thing (and I’m not just copying someone’s words) is that you enjoy yourself regardless of your standard. It may seem difficult to comprehend (or maybe not) but the people who get good are usually the people who enjoy their dancing the most, even when they did have 2 left feet! Of course, be self-aware where you need to improve and work at it, but by all means, ABSOLUTELY NOT do not beat yourself up. If you need help, concentrate on the music in class and try and enjoy that!

If I were to give out one piece of advice (this changes with time, but here’s my favourite advice I’m dishing out at the moment), it would be…to go out and dance! Now you may be saying “but I can’t dance.” You know what you need to do then! Start trying to copy what you see in dance videos and find out about dance classes you can go to. And then go to the dance classes that interest you. And then get better. And better. And better still.

Is Wolfberry Extract Probiotic?

Throughout China, the Wolfberry has been used in traditional medicine. Its benefits have been felt since the time of the Tang Dynasty. But is the wolfberry extract a probiotic, and if so what are the benefits of taking wolfberry extract?

In Chinese medicine the wolfberry was believed to nourish the “Yin”, which was considered the physical, material part of the body. As opposed to the “Yang” that is related to the internal energy functions of the body.

It was believed taking wolfberry extract would improve overall health by strengthening the liver and the kidneys, plus it was also thought to be beneficial for eyesight. And in a similar way to other traditional Chinese medicines, it was believed to nourish the blood.

The wolfberry fruit, also known as the Goji Berry, is used in many herbal preparations and supplements to help maintain good health. Most commonly it is used to treat the following health problems:

Fatigue and Insomnia
Dizziness and headaches
Vision problems and ringing in the ears
Liver disease
High blood pressure
Diabetes
Tuberculosis

There are a number of preparations that are available, but traditionally wolfberry fruit was added to soups, stews, teas and even wine to create a healthy tonic.

Also the dried fruit of the wolfberry is often eaten much like raisins.

In China, there has been considerable research into the health benefits of the wolfberry fruit to establish its medicinal properties and nutritional value.

These more modern research studies have gone a long way to confirming that the traditional uses of the wolfberry were by and large correct.

In addition to the other health benefits, the wolfberry has been shown to offer a boost to the immune system, and help improve eyesight. Also, there have been good results with maintaining a healthy liver and helping regulate the blood sugar and blood pressure levels.

Wolfberry is also though to have antioxidant and anti-aging properties, as well as Antibacterial, Anticholesterolemic, Antipyretic properties.

Teen Consumers Need to Learn About Money Management and Protection

Teens are prime targets for marketers. Today’s marketers are targeting preteens, teens, and especially skippies — school kids with money to spend. According to “Targeting Teen Consumers,” an article on the Newspaper Association of America Web site, teens spent $158 BILLION dollars in 2005.

And 46% of teens (ages 12-17) plan to spend more money next year.

No wonder marketers are targeting teens.

We are not preparing teens the real world if we do not teach them to manage money. How do kids earn money? How do they spend it? The National Consumers League says 62% of teens earn money from part-time, summer time, and neighborhood jobs like babysitting. Fifty-five percent of teens work mainly for spending money and 36% are saving for something they want to buy.

Parents need to teach teens the difference difference between want and need. Your teens may want the latest jeans, but do they really need them? Fads come and go and, if you can convince teens to wait a while, the obsession with a fad may wane. Not all teens are spenders, however. The National Consumers League says 22% of teens are saving for college. Twenty-seven percent of teens are saving for no particular reason.

Teen habits are shifting and many are looking for value. “Cheap has become the new thrifty and savvy,” notes the Newspaper Association of America. Still, teens need to know the basics of money management, the day to day things adults may overlook.

Margery D. Rosen lists the basics in her article, “Basic Training,” published in the April 2007 issue of “Family Circle.” Her list includes making a budget, using an ATM machine, getting/using a checking account, using a credit card responsibly, saving for a specific item, giving to charity, and tracking financial documents.

Rosen did not include protecting teens from identity theft. Identity theft has become rampant and more teens — even elementary kids — are victims of it. The Better Business Bureau lists some self-protection steps on its Web site. Some of the tips:

* Do not carry your Social Security card in your wallet.

* Schools often ask for a Social Security number to participate in athletics. Do not provide this number unless it is well protected.

* Do not use your Social Security number for identification on a driver’s license application.

* Never give financial information to telemarketers, emails from strangers, Web sites or blogs.

* Only carry the credit card(s) and check blank(s) you need.

* When you go to a party leave your credit card(s) and checkbook at home.

Learning to manage money while your kids are teens will help them to be responsible money managers when they are adults.

Copper Foil Luminaries - Making Your Own

Handmade copper candle shields, otherwise known as Luminaries, are an artistic and beautiful way of adding a rustic atmosphere to any home. This project is easy to do and looks great when you are finished. There are an endless amount of different tools you can use to decorate your copper foil luminary, but here are the necessities: You’ll need copper foil about .005-.010″ thick (30-40 gauge), metal-cutting scissors, a hole punch, and fasteners to keep the copper foil in a cylindrical shape. Some optional supplies can include needle-nose pliers, handheld lighter, an old ballpoint pen or stylus for embossing, permanent inkpad, rubber stamps, various stencils, paints suited for metals, decorative scissors and a soft pad or a magazine for embossing the copper foil.

To start the project, you will need to cut a 6×12 inch section out of the copper foil. You can use decorative scissors to cut the top and bottom edges of the copper foil, as it will give the luminary an additional artistic touch. Next, place the copper foil on a flat surface and use some type of smoothing tool to iron out any unwanted wrinkles in the copper. An old credit card will work well. Now, it is time for the decoration. There are endless possibilities with this project, but I’ll give you an option that you can follow if you like. You can use rubber stamps with permanent ink to imprint a design on the copper. Then, emboss the designs into the copper foil by making an indentation along the design with a stylus or an old ballpoint pen. You can “color” the copper foil by heating it with a common lighter or a candle. While heating the copper foil, avoid allowing the heat to concentrate on only one point. Keep the heat moving around the copper foil. It only takes a few seconds for the copper to change color; if you heat it for much longer, the copper will lose all its color and simply turn silver. Also, it is a good idea to use pliers to hold the copper foil over the heat source. Copper conducts heat very well and it will get very hot. You can also paint the copper foil with metal paints. However, NEVER paint before burning. Most paints are flammable and should not be exposed to open flame.

Once the decoration is finished, you can start to punch holes in the copper foil to let the candlelight shine through. I suggest using an 1/8 inch diameter for these holes. Try to space the holes evenly throughout the copper foil. If you want more light to shine through your luminary, punch more holes in your design. Also, it adds a nice touch if you use decorative hole punches.

Now you need to form the copper foil into a cylinder. First, punch three holes on one of the short sides (in this example the 6″ side) about a quarter inch from the edge. The holes at the top and bottom should be about a half inch into the copper foil. Next, carefully form the cylinder and overlap the edges about a quarter of an inch. Using a permanent marker, mark where the next holes should be made. Then punch the copper foil where indicated. After the holes have been punched, use the fasteners to hold the copper foil in place, forming a cylinder.

Now place the copper shield over a candle and enjoy watching the light dance across the room. In closing, here are some safety tips: never leave a flame unattended, wear gloves while handling copper foil to protect against the sharp edges, always heat the copper foil outside or in a well-ventilated room and always have a fire extinguisher handy as a precaution.

Enjoy your handcrafted copper luminary!

Making A Connection With Your Teen

Last month, I picked my daughter up from school and as we were driving home, I noticed the car in front of us. There were 4 teens in the car, all smoking, only one window partially cracked.

I proceeded to let my daughter know just how horrible this was. I told her I couldn’t believe these kids were riding in a closed up car all smoking etc. When I finally finished my rant, my wonderful daughter looked me square in the face and said “mom tell you never did that as a teen”. I think it took the two of us 10 minutes to quit laughing. I had one of my momentary forgetting I was ever a teen moments.

Often we can make a connection with our teens if we remember that we too were teens once and share those stories with our kids. Of course I rode in a car with everyone smoking. Of course I cut a class now and again. Of course I had times I did not turn in homework. Sharing funny stories about our own teen years is a wonderful way to connect with our own children.

I have also always taken an interest in the hobbies my children have become involved in. My older daughter took up baseball. She began collecting baseball cards. I really wanted to connect with her so I began collecting football cards. Yep, there I was a 30 year old woman starting my own football card collection. She and I would visit card shops. We would attend card exhibits. We had a blast each creating our own albums.

My younger daughter loves the theater. I make it a point to watch for local performances. When I find them, I offer to buy tickets so that we can attend the various plays in our community. We recently attended a junior high school version of Fiddler on the Roof. The kids were magnificent. My daughter and I had a delightful time.

This is the same daughter that took up cheerleading. We used to attend sports games just so she could watch the cheerleaders and then create routines. These were all wonderful opportunities to connect with one another.

These are just a few ways to connect with your teenager. Look for ways to connect with your teen based on their likes and hobbies. While you may not be able to pick them up and hold them anymore, you now are able to spend quality time and create memories that will last both of you a lifetime.

Getting Started With Your Fitness Program

Are you thinking about starting a fitness program to improve your overall health and shed a few extra pounds? Good for you! Here are some excellent tips for getting started with your fitness program.

Starting a fitness program is the best thing you can do for your overall health and as soon as you have your Doctor’s okay you can get right into all that physical activity which can help reduce chronic disease as well as improve your balance and your coordination.

Start by assessing your current fitness level. You probably have at least a rough idea of just how fit you are. You need a baseline to start with so your fitness scores can be compared for gain. You should record your pulse rate before and after you complete your mile walk, how long it takes you to walk that mile, how many pushups you did at one time, your body’s mass index or BMI, and the circumference of your waist. Once you have this information recorded your fitness program is ready to go.

Next you need to design your own personal fitness program. Start by determining your fitness goals so what it is you want to accomplish - lose weight, improve your cardio function, or perhaps run a marathon. Think about what it is you like or dislike when it comes to exercise and activities. Plan to start light and then build as your ability gets better. That’s the best way to avoid injury and do remember to spice it up a bit so that your workouts have lot of variety so you won’t get bored.

Now you need to assemble any exercise equipment you have purchased for your fitness program. Perhaps you purchased one of those all in one machines, or maybe it was just a treadmill. At any rate you will want to get it all assembled so that you can start your workouts and be on your way to a healthier you.

Once you are ready to get started you will need to start slow and gradually be build up. Make sure your warm up is adequate so that everything becomes easy. Depending on where you are will depend on what type of exercises you incorporate into your workout and for how long you workout will be. That’s what your personal fitness program is all about.

It’s best to break things up if you need to. Remember shorter more frequent sessions also work very well and it is much easier to fit 10 minutes of exercise into your busy day than it is 30 minutes. That 10 minutes means 3 short and quick sessions. It’s that easy to get your fitness program into your busy day.

Try to be creative with your workouts because you are much more likely to stay at it when your program is interesting and not boring. It’s hard to stay enthusiastic about the same exercises in your fitness program when you have to do them day in and day out.

Make sure that you are listening to your body. Shortness of breath, dizziness, or nausea means you need to take a break from your fitness program immediately. If you have pain in an area reduce the amount of exercise for a bit to give it a change to heal.

It is very important to monitor your progress because otherwise you have no way of knowing if your fitness program is working for you. You also don’t know when you should make things easier or harder.

Now that you’ve created your own personal fitness program you have no excuse to get busy.

Truthful Answers About Currency Trading (Forex)

One of the largest money markets in the world today is the Forex market. Forex Investors from around the globe meet both in person and online to negotiate the value of varied currencies for other currencies in desire of making big money. But what is Currency Trading (forex)? How do you make money trading foreign currencies?, How difficult is it to get involved? These and more questions tend to come up when people discuss the Forex market. The subsequent paragraphs are designed to help you make out what this new market is, how it works, and how you just might be able to make some money by working the system in your favor.

Here are some common questions relating to Forex Trading:

Are there any other factors that keep individuals from being an investor in the Forex Market?

There are a few factors, yes. The key reason is in the way currencies are traded. In order to make their own profit, the people who perform the actual trades charge a certain amount extra beyond just the exchange rate. The more money you can trade at once, the smaller that difference is, until you get to the top tier of trading where the difference is literally thousandths and hundred thousandths of cents. Most organizations and most individuals can’t trade that much money at once, so the differences that they are charged are much more, which in turn makes the draw of Forex trading less lucrative.

What are the most common organizations to take part in Forex trading?

The largest organizations to take part in Forex trading are large banks. Given that they tend to have billions of dollars, they can often access the top tier of Forex trading. After that, it would be Commercial companies and Central banks. These two organizations tend to do the most “on paper” trading, trading over longer periods. After that, it would be investment management firms. These companies tend to exchange currencies more to secure foreign assets for their customers than to make a profit. Lastly, retail brokers who take part in the market on behalf of individuals make up about two per cent of the whole market.

What made countries move from the Gold Standard to the current compact?

The challenge with the Gold Standard is that it triggered bouncing periods of recession and economy booms. A country that was doing well economically would import goods from overseas until their gold reserves were too low to properly sustain the economy. inflation rose to a high level that ensured a recession. Eventually, the recession would cause the cost of that country’s goods to sink so low that its goods were very attractive to other countries. Those countries who were doing well economically would begin to import goods and the cycle would continue from country to country. An acknowledgement called the Bretton Woods Agreement, the compact that set the price of the US Dollar and set all other participating countries currencies against it, ended after World War 2 when international trade became so widespread as to render the agreement useless.

Who can participate in the Forex Market?

Basically, only large financial organizations can take part. This boils down to multi-national banks and companies. There are some allowances for individuals to trade, but this must be done through a broker (and often leaves people open to fraud). There are a few reasons for this. First, the amount of money that is needed to make a decent make money in is certainly more than a single individual can invest. Secondly, the way most trades are set up tend to make most of the money “on paper”, which means that while there is profit, it’s not usually profit you can take and directly put into your pocket. These two things alone make the Currency Trading (forex) fairly unappealing to individuals.

What is the Forex Market?

The Forex or Foreign Exchange market is, at its most basic level, any place where one currency is exchanged for another currency. More specifically, it’s where one country’s currency is exchanged for another country’s currency. An organization, such as a bank or a company, in one country will exchange massive amounts of their own country’s currency for another country’s currency in the hopes that the exchange rate for the currencies will change in their favor. When and if they do, the organization will then exchange the foreign currency they have for their own country’s currency and will have made a profit.

How does the current agreement work?

Currently, there is no compact. Countries base the worth of their money from internal economical situations. If the current economical situation is good, their money is worth more. Conversely, if the economic situation is not so good, the money is worth less. This dependence is what led to the existing Forex Market. Since money worth is based off almost nebulous forces, an organization can attempt to gauge a country’s current economical situation. With luck, they can guess correctly and attempt to buy other currency when the currency is worth less and sell the currency when it’s worth more. This is how the Forex Market works.

How can you make money in the Forex Market?

It does seem challenging when you realize that most currency exchanges at only a scant cents more or less. For instance, the Euro recently traded at 1.29524 United States dollars. A twenty-nine cent divergence doesn’t seem like that much money, particularly when you realize it’s rare for the value of a currency to shift much more than a scant cents either way unless some major economic change occurs in one of the countries. Notwithstanding, the organizations that do these trades tend to negotiate money in very massive sums. At that mass of money, even three and four cent differences can end up being a lot of money. In this way, organizations can make a lot of money by taking part of Currency Trading (forex).

Will Forex trading continue into the future?

For the near future, most certainly. One cannot, of course, foretell the future, but with as much money as is being made daily in Forex trading, it is doubtful that most people who are taking part would want to quit. When you add in the fact that many organizations simply cannot drop out of the market since they have so many assets tied up in it, you have a market that doesn’t show any sign of weakening. The only way the Forex market will die any time soon is if one or more of the current major trading countries has a huge economic downfall.

Build Links that Work

Webmasters are constantly looking more effective ways to link bait or build incoming links to their websites. As building links is the most important Search Engine Optimization technique in today’s context, most link builders charge a hefty amount just for a couple of links. I will discuss some of the effective link building strategies that will help most Webmasters in boosting their pages’ ranking by building links that work.

The most common method employed by the Webmasters is placing their links in forums as their signatures. This is a very cost effective technique as it does not require the poster to pay anything. Signature links do helps in attracting traffic especially if the poster contributes significantly to the community. Although these links are not valued highly in the search engine index, they do count as backlinks.

Writing articles is another great way to build incoming links. Most articles have a section known as ‘About Author’ at the end of the body and this is where the writers put in valuable links to their websites. These links are highly relevant and helps greatly in contributing to the site rankings. Article writing is extremely useful if an article is submitted to many article directories.

One of the latest link building strategies is to utilize social bookmarking sites such as digg and del.icio.us to post your story. These sites have tons of traffic everyday and refers a good amount of visitors to a site especially if the story is interesting. Although some of the links are not valued highly in search engines, the traffic will indirectly link to your site if your content is interesting.

Another method to build links is to advertise your link on a popular page. A popular page would mean one that has a good page rank and receives high amount of traffic. This popular page will help in both ways; increase your search engine result ranking and attract targeted traffic. However, advertising in popular sites can be expensive and short-lived.

The latest trend that people build links is through Link Investment. Take for example, LinkVestor.com allows Webmasters to invest in text links while advertising their sites so as to sell back their links for a profit in future. This type of links is beneficial to the Webmasters in more than one way; traffic and revenue.

To conclude, Webmasters must be clear to build links that can either attract targeted traffic or have high page importance. Webmasters must also be aware of the surroundings as new link building strategies will be introduced from time to time.
