One of the things that I have learned is that affiliate marketing is really good for generating subscribers, subscribers who are buyers. That might seem crazy - you might think that you would do an affiliate program so you can make more money, but that is really not the case.

Sheffield’s significance as the steel manufacturing centre of the UK declined dramatically over the decades leading up to the 80s, but the city has been rejuvenated and now stands as the fourth largest in the country, with a bustling creative industry and affectionately dubbed as ‘the biggest village in the country’.

The city centre is separated into four sections: Cultural Quarter, the Shopping Quarter, the Business Quarter and the Devonshire Quarter. Each of the city’s sections offers a different slice of city life, and comes equipped with shops, cafes, restaurants and bars that befit the quarter’s unique atmosphere.

Home to the World Student Games of 1991, and officially named the National City of Sport, Sheffield has all the sporting facilities one could wish for! And with 150 woodland areas, 50 public parks, and the Peak District minutes away, Sheffield has much to offer for a weekend break.

History

A market town has existed in the area now Sheffield since the ninth century. In the seven centuries that followed, the area pioneered developments in the steel industry and Sheffield became known as the UK centre of steel production.

The collapse of the British mining and manufacturing industries had a devastating effect on the city, but the area has recovered well and been officially named the National City of Sport.

Weston Park Museum features exhibits and displays documenting Sheffield’s long and significant history and is located across the road from the Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Important historical buildings include Bishops’ House, boasting many of its original fifteenth and sixteenth century fixtures, and The Old Queen’s Head, a fifteenth century pub in the city centre.

Art Galleries

There are two art galleries in Sheffield city centre: The Graves Art Gallery and the Millenium Galleries.

The Graves Art Gallery is based inside the 1930s central library, and houses an extensive collection of nineteenth and twentieth century art from around Britain and Europe. The permanent displays include works by Picasso and Pierre Bonnard, and attempt to document the significant art movements of the period.

The Millenium Galleries is a complex comprising four separate galleries: The Special Exhibition Gallery, home to temporary exhibitions; the Metalwork Gallery, displaying Sheffield’s historical steel products; the Craft and Design Gallery, home to craft and design works; and the Ruskin Gallery, a donation of art from the nineteenth century artist and writer John Ruskin.

Theatres

The Sheffield Theatres complex is the largest of its kind outside of the capital, and comprises three separate theatres: the Crucible, the Lyceum and the Studio Theatre.

The Crucible is the main producing theatre in the complex, and plays host to the annual World Snooker Championships. The auditorium is large, seating just less than a thousand people, and stages an impressive variety of drama, musicals and amateur theatre.

The Lyceum is the main receiving venue for large-scale touring productions in Sheffield, and seats more than eleven hundred people. Located in a listed building, the theatre hosts a range of productions, including opera, ballet and dance.

The Studio Theatre is the newest and smallest of the Sheffield Theatres venues, and tends to stage critically acclaimed, small-scale performances by touring companies and local groups.

Restaurants

Restaurants in Sheffield are plentiful, and the majority of these restaurants and cafes can be found located around the west of the city, in West:One and on West Street, and further out in the south, on London Road.

West:One is a complex in the city centre, comprising a number of stylish and modern restaurants. Las Iguanas is one of these; serving authentic Latin American cuisine and a range of cocktails.

Alaturka, regarded as Sheffield’s finest Turkish restaurant, is based on London Road. Further along is Vietnamese Noodle Bar, a cheap and high quality establishment with an incredibly varied clientele.

For fine dining, Thyme has two restaurants in the city and Nether Green is home to a Rafters restaurant.

Pubs/Bars

Pubs popular with the large student population in Sheffield include The Cavendish on West Street, a ‘Scream’ pub, and Walkabout, an Australian-themed bar just around the corner. The Sheffield University union pub, Bar One, is one of the most successful union bars in the country and is only open to students and their friends in the evenings. Hubs in the Sheffield Hallam University bar and located in the building that was once the National Centre for Popular Music.

Sheffield has plenty to offer real ale drinkers, and the largest range can be found in The Devonshire Cat in the city centre. The Sheaf View Inn in Heeley is incredibly popular with real ale connoisseurs, and is listed in The Good Beer Guide.

The Showroom is based in the Cultural Quarter, and is frequented by many of the media professionals who work in the area.

Nightclubs

Corporation nightclub is a rock club, rated highly by Kerrang!. The club is open four nights a week and offers a variety of ska-punk, metal, indie, hardcore, punk and emo sounds.

The Leadmill has been open since the 80s, and functions as a nightclub and live music venue. There are gigs most evenings, and those attending the gigs are usually admitted to the club free of charge.

Gatecrasher One is one of the north’s most popular clubs, and is open five nights a week, offering house, hip-hop, r’n'b, classic pop, and more.

Kingdom nightclub comprises four rooms, including a private members’ bar, and plays pop, disco anthems and r’n'b. The Plug, also in the city centre, presents live music, rave and techno; and is located around the corner from Niche, a speed garage and funky house venue.

Shopping

Sheffield City Centre is separated into four clearly labelled zones, and is gradually being pedestrianised, making city centre shopping a more enjoyable and rewarding experience.

The Devonshire Quarter, in the west, is home to a range of designer boutiques and unusual or bohemian retailers, and a small shopping centre known as The Forum. Budget stores and supermarkets are located on the Moor, in the south, along with fresh fruit and vegetable outdoor markets. The city’s indoor market is based in the north of the city centre, Castle Market, and comprises hundreds of units.

Meadowhall Shopping Centre is located a short drive from the city centre, and is home to nearly three hundred retailers. Unlike many shopping centres, Meadowhall is home to both major chain stores and independent retailers, offering a range to suit everybody. There is a large multi-kiosk food court, a crèche and twelve thousand free parking spaces.

Sports

Sheffield hosted the World Student Games in 1991 and has been officially named as the National City of Sport.

The primary leisure centre, of the thirteen in the city, is Ponds Forge International Sports Centre. Ponds Forge comprises a regional size leisure pool, the Great Britain Diving Squad’s diving pool and the Olympic swimming pool. There are also three fully equipped gyms, a large sports hall and numerous sports coaching facilities.

Don Valley Stadium, the largest athletics stadium in the UK, boasts an eight-lane all-weather track, six long-jump pits, an eighty-five-metre indoor track, and much more.

Ice Sheffield is an Olympic-sized ice rink, with lessons and development sessions for skaters of all abilities. Climbing facilities are available at The Edge, in the city centre; and there are numerous golf courses located around the city.

You have to have something new going on, like a new book or a new web site - but with article marketing you can write about anything - the same thing everyday, if you want.

Look at me - I write on about the same 20 topics - nearly everyday. But that is ok. But I do not think I could do that with press release writing, not and get away with it.

Plus, there are only a few press release sites, whereas with article marketing I think there are 800 now, or more.

But for direct traffic, with article marketing - just submit to the ones that have the most traffic - like the top 2 or 3. That is all you need to do.

But if you are looking for backlinks with article marketing, then submit to many of them.

But with press releases - just write a few - and then post them to the free sites - there are about 5 online.

The problem is that you cannot just keep doing it - you have to rely on the article marketing and then use press releases for the newsworthy things.

Manchester is world renowned as the first industrialised city in the
world, but the city also boasts an important cultural and musical
heritage. The city’s role in showcasing innovative punk bands in the
70s, and underground music in the 80s, cemented Manchester’s reputation

The city’s nightlife, restaurants and cultural facilities rival those

Manchester’s continued rise in importance is evidenced by the new

History

Manchester was the first industrialised city in the world. Friedrich
Engels wrote his 1844 treaty ‘The Condition of the Working Class in
England’ whilst living in the city; and Elizabeth Gaskell was just one

The Manchester Museum explores local and national history, and boasts
an incredible 6million exhibits. Displays are separated by theme, and
these include anthropology, archaeology, botany and zoology.

Other museums include Greater Manchester Police Museum, Imperial War
Museum and People’s History Museum.

Art Galleries

Mancheter Art Gallery is the largest of several galleries in the city,
located in a nineteenth century, Grade I listed building and showcasing
works by local, national and international artists.

The Whitworth Gallery is home to 31,000 watercolours, prints, drawings,
modern art, sculpture and textiles. Displayed items from the permanent
collection are regularly alternated, and temporary exhibitions are
hosted frequently.

The Castlefield Gallery comprises numerous exhibition spaces, and
changes displays regularly. Cornerhouse exhibits contemporary art works
in its galleries, and The Centre for the Urban Built Environment
explores innovative architectural design.

Theatres

The Manchester Opera House is one of three in the city’s theatre
complex, and has a capacity of just less than 2000 people. Productions
hosted in the venue tend to be large-scale, touring shows, and have
included West End shows.

The Palace Theatre is nineteenth century, Grade II listed, and
comprises three levels, two balconies and stalls, with seating for 2000
people. The Royal Exchange is also Grade II listed, and specialises in
classic theatre, contemporary drama and new writing. The Studio Theatre
was opened in 1998 and has a capacity of 120.

The Library Theatre is an intimate venue, in the basement of the
central library. Others include The Dancehouse, The Contact Theatre and
The Greenroom.

Restaurants

110 Restaurant is a popular, fine dining establishment, located inside
a casino and serving British and European cuisine until 1am. The bar
and gaming areas are open until 6am and, for legal reasons, children
are not permitted inside the building.

Manchester’s ‘Curry Mile’ is known around the country, and is home to
more than seventy restaurants and takeaways. Shaandaar, Hanaan and Lal
Haweli are popular Indian restaurants on ‘the mile’, and Saki Turkish
Bar and Grill is well loved by locals.

Wong Chu is a traditional Chinese restaurant; and Pan Asia a more
upmarket establishment serving Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Thai and
Vietnamese dishes. Chaophraya comprises a bar and gourmet Thai
restaurant, with seating for 120 people.

Pubs/Bars

The Temple is one of 500 pubs in Manchester, but unique in its location
inside a converted public toilet. There is a wide selection of real
ales, a unisex toilet and a jukebox stocked with the works of
Manchester bands.

Cocktail bars in the city include Panacea, with a restaurant and
selective door policy that attracts celebrities; Pure Space, also
serving tapas and situated above a Northern Soul and funk club; Opus
One, inside the 5* Radisson Edwardian Hotel; and Mojo, presenting
classic rock from the 50s to the 90s.

Canal Street is home to a variety of lively gay bars. Queer has a ‘men
only’ area and its own in-toilet radio station; Tribeca & Bed is a
‘New York Attic’ style establishment, with luxurious seating -
including full-sized beds; and Churchill’s presents karaoke and talent
contests in traditional pub surroundings.

Nightclubs

One Central Street is located in the basement of a Grade II listed
building, and presents funky house and disco four nights a week. The
door policy is selective, and the bar serves a variety of wines, beers
and cocktails.

Sankeys is an award-winning deep house, funky house, tribal and break
beats club, boasting stylish decor and top of the range sound
system.

Essential is Manchester’s top gay club, with a strict gay-only door
policy and a fashionably kitsch decor that includes spiral
staircases and neon lighting. The club is open four nights a week, with
live music events on Mondays, and commercial pop and funky house the
rest of the week.

5th Avenue is a popular indie club, open six nights a week until 3am.
Jilly’s Rockworld presents rock, metal and goth music four nights a
week, with live music on Wednesdays, and came third in Kerrang!’s 100
top UK club nights.

Shopping

Most of Manchester’s plentiful shopping streets are entirely pedestrianised, and some of
the walkways are covered. The Shambles and King Street are the places
to find designer clothes boutiques; St Ann’s Arcade is home to a number
of prestigious jewellery, clothes and shoe stores; and Barton Arcade is
a shopping and office complex. The Arndale Centre comprises 200 high
street shops and several restaurants, with parking for 2000 cars.

Covering an area the size of thirty football pitches, and comprising
four separate shopping areas, the Trafford Centre has been dubbed ‘a
temple to consumerism’. There is parking for 10,000 cars, numerous
leisure facilities and a children’s play area. There is also a
multi-kiosk food hall, including a mini-Chinatown.

Sports

Manchester Aquatics Centre is one of twenty leisure centres in the city, and
contains two 50-metre pools, a fitness studio, a workout studio, a
health suite and sun beds. There is a full programme of classes and
groups, including ‘women only’ sessions.

The Ten Acres Astro Centre comprises an outdoor Astroturf pitch and
sports hall.

The UK’s main Olympic cycle track is the Manchester Velodrome, which
also contains twelve netball courts, ten badminton courts and a
basketball court. Cycling tuition is also available for adults and
children.

Manchester Golf Club and The New North Manchester Golf Club are two of
fifteen golf courses in the area, and both comprise eighteen holes.

I bought special affiliate software and I spent money to do free traffic - don’t ask me how..but you probably already know! But them I stumbled on article marketing. I was trying to get high rankings for a niche web site - and it worked. I was crazy with that - I was writing one article per day and submitting it to like 80 article directories - and then the next day I would write another article and submit it to like the same 80 - it was crazy times.

Then I decided to start testing where the traffic was coming from - and found that 95% of my traffic was coming from one group of five directories (I was not willing to set up tracking links for all 80, so I did it in groups).

Then I found that one directory was responsible for around 95% of that group - and so now I don’t submit to all of them that much, except when I have a new site and I need fast inbound links, so I can start ranking - then it is really useful.

But now I write like 20 articles a day - and that is the way I have gotten a lot of traffic with article marketing.

Some people will ask me how I do it - how I have built a business on article marketing - and then I tell them - or they pay me to tell them - and then they go out and write 10 articles - look that won’t work - have you seen how many I write?
