A Look at Crohn’s Disease and its Symptoms

It was only up till recently that I heard about a horrible disease called Crohn’s disease. I went my whole like not knowing that thousands of lives are affected by something I was ignorant to. Almost two decades of ignorance came to an end only four months ago when I found out that not one but two of my friends try to live everyday lives with it.

Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation or ulceration of the digestive tract. It can affect any part of your digestive tract, but it is most common in the last part of the small intestine and the large intestine/colon. Crohn’s disease affects the deepest layers of the lining of the digestive tract, causing deep sores called ulcers. Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, which affects the colon and rectum, are the most common types of inflammatory bowel disease, with ulcerative colitis being much more common.

The main symptoms of Crohn’s disease include:

  • Abdominal pain - The pain often is described as cramping and intermittent, and the abdomen may be sore when touched. The pain may turn to a dull, constant ache as the condition progresses.
  • Diarrhea - Some people may have diarrhea 10 to 20 times per day. They may wake up at night and need to go to the bathroom. Crohn’s disease may cause blood in stools, but not always.
  • Loss of appetite
  • Fever - In some severe cases, fever or other symptoms that affect the entire body may develop. A high fever may mean that you have a complication involving infection, such as an abscess.
  • Weight loss - Symptoms, such as diarrhea, can lead to weight loss.
  • Anemia - Some people with Crohn’s disease develop anemia because of low iron levels caused by bloody stools or the intestinal inflammation itself.
  • Sores in the mouth

  • Nutritional deficiencies - Lowered levels of vitamin B12, folic acid, iron, and fat-soluble vitamins, because the intestines may not be able to absorb nutrients from food.
  • Bowel obstruction

Signs of disease in or around the anus.

  • Abnormal tunnels or openings called fistulas that sometimes form between organs. These develop because Crohn’s disease causes inflammation and ulcers in the deep layers of the intestinal wall. Fistulas may form between parts of the intestine or between the intestine and another organ such as the bladder, vagina, or skin.
  • Pockets of infection/abscesses
  • Small tears in the anus
  • Skin tags that may resemble hemorrhoids. These are caused by inflamed skin

There is no known medical cure for Crohn’s disease, unfortunately. However, therapies are available which can noticeably reduce symptoms and even bring about a long-term remission. There might be hope for future generations of Crohn’s sufferers. Researchers just identified a gene that, when defective, can trigger the disease in some people. Doctors are hoping the discovery of this gene will lead to more effective treatments of Crohn’s disease.

Seek the opinion of your doctor before following of any diet treatment and regiment. Only a doctor can provide you with advice on what is safe and most effective for you.

Best List Building - Advance Fast in List Building

List building is how I have built my full time business online. Wait, you say, but I read in the other article that you said it is article marketing! I am not pulling your leg here…but I cannot have one without the other.

Oh, don’t get me wrong – if you took one away from me, I know enough now that I would find another way to get the job done!

But you see, the article marketing is the first step – it gets them to me. Then the list building gets them to me again and again.

Think about it – today I will end up with about 150 new, unique visitors, 50 of whom will join my list (it might be a little more, depending on where the come in..but that is ok). But I have will have generated around 1000+ views to my web pages when today is over – how? I send my list members to my pages.

So my system works like this: 1) you come to my list via article marketing. 2) You come to my sales pages and instructional pages and coaching program only by invitation from my list.

It is really related to my formula for success online: traffic times conversions times price equals success, equals the exact amount of money you make online.

And article marketing is the fuel for my system, and list building is the high octane boost I put in the system. I cannot have one without the other – of course, it is the system that works, not just the article marketing or the list building.

So if article marketing goes away tomorrow – I will replace that fuel with something else – and if list building goes away, the same – but for today – I am article marketing and list building.

Investments in Spanish Residential Real Estate

With around 2.8 million legal foreign residents in Spain, not to speak of ever-increasing tourism figures, Spain has become a top destination for foreign property investment. The Spanish Ministry of Tourism predicts that more than one million foreigners will set up home on the Spanish coast in the next six years, and this figure is expected to treble by 2025. Now is the ideal time to make an intelligent investment in Spanish property. Low interest rates, a strong economy and a huge demand for rental accommodation is further fuelled by the revolution of internet bookings.
Spanish property investment has been popular with investors for a long time and is still the favourite location for investors from the whole world due to many factors. Many investors look to secure a rental income from their investment property and Spain is one of the safest options for rental yields, due to its established tourist industry which over the years has proved it can reliably satisfy this requirement.

Natural and Cultural Factors.
The dream lifestyle is a new priority for northern Europeans who have become disillusioned with the cold climate as well as unhealthy, unsafe and hectic lifestyles.

Spain, particularly southern Spain, offers a fantastic, warm climate year round, allowing for an abundance of outdoor pursuits, such as over 26 golf courses, beaches and an attractive Spanish culture. Spain boasts some stunning beaches and breathtaking countryside which caters for all tastes. Rambling, golf, skiing, water sports and beach life are but a few of the ways in which residents and tourists enjoy the outdoors. An excellent infrastructure is already established. European standards in medical and social security services.

Economic Factors.
Lost confidence in the stock market. More and more people are disillusioned with their poorly performing pension and savings plans, PEPs and stock investments which continue to fall in value daily. Their number one priority has now become the search for opportunities that can give a satisfying return on their investment.
Spain still offers value for money and excellent returns. The market remains buoyant and there is little sign of change for the foreseeable future. Despite a slight slowdown, construction continues relentlessly. Bought in the right location, property remains the favourite form of investment.

Property prices in Spain remain a good deal lower than those back home, allowing people to afford a holiday or second home, or indeed relocate to the country and retire early. Spanish properties are becoming more popular as they provide an excellent investment as well as a holiday home. We selected tree investment projects which we present at our website http://www.interproperties.nl/ . Off-plan purchases are a popular investment option for those in the know. You can avoid the full cost of paying for the property by paying in installments and selling the property on for a much higher price prior to project completion. Vast profits continue to be made with shrewd off-plan investment. A large flourishing rental market is offered in Spain and investment in a property with good rental potential can achieve excellent returns. Spain is a top choice for tourists who enjoy a variety of self-catering accommodation, apartments and private villas. Get it right, and you could rent your property out for six months of the year to cover costs and have it for your own use, free of charge, for the rest of the year.

Rising prices seem set to continue for the foreseeable future, in both the popular coastal resorts as well as in easily accessible inland regions. Spain has a stable and mature property market, while prices have risen by 48% in the past three years. Experts predict that prices will continue to rise, albeit at a slower pace than in recent years.

The Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca are two prime investment areas, being the most popular tourist areas. Prices remain relatively high on both coasts but due to huge demand, you could be sitting on a goldmine in the long-term.
Buying in Spain is a well-trodden path. There is plenty of expert, readily available advice on the subject and provided you use a good, independent lawyer, your purchase should be trouble-free.

Land for Development/Project Sourcing.
Interproperties Spain fully appreciates the need to find new land investment opportunities in Spain to give investors the best returns on investment. We currently offer some very lucrative hot spots in Spain and will gladly help you set up joint venture opportunities or simply source land opportunities on your behalf.

An improvement in the worldwide property investment climate has enabled us to identify a growing number of large scale individual investors and investment consortiums who constantly look to take advantage of the current hot investment locations in Spain.

Adolescence Suicide - Encumbrances of Ambition Part-7

Teenagers and youths are gold mines of a Nation, more they are pulverize better they shine” My dear Ezine readers, I am sad to discuss that while I was preparing for this article, I heard a bad news of a teenager ending his life due to teacher’s apathy in the school. Anyhow though world would not come to standstill with one more suicide but certainly hell have broken loose on poor parent? After going through many clipping and television news, I concluded that both parent and teachers were to be blamed for increased communication between the boy and them. Had anyone made little extra efforts in interacting with the teenagers, he would have been alive?

Today once again, I am with you to debate as to how should teenagers cop up with stress engendered by ambitious parents? I have categorized parents in four categories with respect to their ambitions; and as to what they want to make their teenager wards:

· One; Customary Parents (CP). Customary Parents are those parents who are

have low to middle income but enough landed property to sustain entire family with out stress of earning livelihood. Such parent’s normally rely more on destiny and believe in philosophy of Karma (deeds) that work is worship and Do Your Best (DYB) & Leave Result to God (LRG). While interacting with a group of parents during Parent-Teacher meet, I have observed that over 75% parents exhibited normal ambition. They believed that their teenagers should work hard and Leave Result to God. Such parent’s children perform exceedingly well and they generally form over 75% youth force cadre of any country government, forces and officials. Only one case of suicide has been noted so far of such parents. These parents, 1) believe their child should do his best with out compromising and risking his health; 2) remain in constant touch with their wards both at home and school; 3) guide their wards regularly to face the challenges and hardship of studies; 4) keep strict financial check on their wards; 5) ensure their wards are not following any bad company. Such parents are generally in the Would frame of mind. They believe that if their wards have achieved what they want, it is blessings; otherwise whatsoever wards do, they would be accepted. CP is traditionally and socially very rigid and expects same from wards to follow in family hierarchy. CP, thus, produces no stress on their wards but they are very sensitive to their customs and traditions. Barely .5% teenagers who committed suicide are from CP group of people.

· Two; Anomalous Parents (AP). Anomalous parents (AP) are those who live

between middle to high income group. Such parents often remain busy to meet their livelihood. It is seen that both mother and father are working in very odd hours. They normally find difficult to spare enough time to be with their wards but still make an attempt to meet them during week ends and holidays/leave days. The take proper care of their wards but exhibit common ambition and goal. They expect their wards to follow a particular way of life and should achieve the same. They are uncertain and impromptus in their approach. Their behavior is unpredictive and short temper. They sudden release their anger and began to scold their wards very badly on minor faults. Such teenagers become very sensitive and often found to be committing suicide. Teenagers remain under low to highest levels of stresses. Whenever, teenagers face highest level of stress they often commit suicide. AP believe in Could frame of mind of acceptance. They always think why their ward could not achieve and thus increase the stress level by often scolding and over monitoring. 3% teenagers from this group take away their lives. Every third teenagers out of ten who committed suicide is ward of AP.

· Three; Highly Ambitious Parent (HAP). Highly Ambitious Parents (HAP) are

those who have worked overnight to achieve some place in the society through dedicated hard work and sincere efforts. They do not believe in destiny and follow the misnomer by thinking that they are the destiny makers or they are self made people. They often boast about their achievements and try to show their position and status. While living an articulated life, such parents often expect and demand similar efforts in studies and other spheres of life from their wards. My study has revealed that over 91% teenagers of such parents are always under mild to middle levels of stresses during normal way of living. However, HAP teenagers suffer from moderate to high levels of stresses before, during and after examinations of 10th and 12th standards. HAP has Should Frame of mind. Under no circumstances such parents allow their wards to rest and they try to ensure that their wards should achieve whatsoever HAP selected for them. They crush teenagers between their teenagers capabilities and their unfulfilled ambition thus forcing them to commit suicide due fear of failure to live up to their parents expectations. The rate of suicide of HAP teenagers is nearly 4%. Readers have to analyze that out of every ten suicide, over four teenagers belong to such HAP.

· Four; Over Ambitious Parent (OAP). Over Ambitious Parents are often found

to be over committed themselves. They are having high to super high level of income but still believe themselves the destiny makers. They impose very severe to highly severe degree of demands from their teenagers. To fulfill their ambitions, they arrange tuition, extra coaching and what not to ensure that their wards are buried under the stress of study. Infact by arranging numerous subjects’ tuition, they really ruin their wards health through unplanned study schedule. I have observed that most of the wards of such parents are either using spectacles or they too thin or pumpkin size due to lack of regular exercises and physical inactivity. Such parents do no give any calm hearing to their teenagers. First OAP does not find time to be with their wards and whatsoever time they find, they want to spent coaching or giving away their mind as to what they expect from them? Such OAP teenagers are either totally without stress or under high stress condition. OAP are always under Must frame of mind. They believe that their wards have no option to become what OAP has thought for them to be. Their teenagers have to become whatsoever OAP want. Doctors, engineers, lawyers and various other professionals fall under this category. Nearly 2.5% teenagers committed suicides are from OAP group of families. What I mean to say that between two to three teenagers committed suicide are from OAP families. After analyzing various types of parents, I would now debate about various levels of stresses which such parents advertently or inadvertently generate on their wards.

· Low Level Stress (LLS). The low level of stress is defined as the disturbed

state of mind of teenagers due to sudden change in demands from parents or environment to be fulfilled for which he is either less prepared or unprepared. Generally teenagers of CP and some what AP of low ambition parents fall under such level of stress. Despite of low levels, CP rebuke and scold teenagers once in life with such an authority that over .5% teenagers still fail to face the challenges and take away their lives. Generally teenager live very normal life but they still feel afraid of sudden burst of anger of parents. Such teenagers live both careful and carefree life. Such teenagers are unpredictable and generally remain happy social and amicable. They are impromptu while committing suicide. Parents have to be cautious while scolding for examination results.

· Moderate Level Stress (MLS). The Moderate Level Stress (MLS) is defined as

the stable and unsteady state of mind of teenagers with respect to their parents’ ambitions during their teens. Teenagers of AP generally fall under this category. Teenagers of AP are always under constant stress of performing well in studies. They exhibit the sign of stress during their studies through facial expression. They always remain under worries of performing well and live up to their parents’ ambitions. Such teenagers though generally remain under LLS but exhibit MLS before and during examinations. Such teenagers traits are to leave food, feel less hungry, show repeated sign of not remembering their subject, often feeling stressed of looking blank and frequently calling to discuss their best friend for advice or to know some problems solutions. When parents find above noted traits please think that your teenager is suffering from MLS. I suggested to

o Immediately interact with your teenager;

o Find out his real cause of worry

o Make your teenagers believe that your ambition is his challenge to fulfill and not the order to suffer stress;

o Counsel your teenager daily as to how to attempt answers;

o Ensure to share some lighter moments of life during study hours;

o Mother to ensure personal touch while offering food and giving milk during late night studies of your teenagers;

o If need be one of the parent should take leave and be with wards during examinations.

· High Level Stress (HLS). High Level Stress is defined as the permanent

disturbed state of mind of a teenager due to which he generally exhibits changed behavior amongst his colleagues and fearsome traits from parents. The symptoms of fear, worry and anxiety are always present in such teenagers conduct and behavior. They reflect very timid nature and rarely mix up with general colleagues. The teenagers of HAP suffer from what I call is Frequent Appearing Worrisome Syndrome (FAWS). Such teenagers become very sensitive and timid. When ever sign of frequent collapsing, too much submissiveness, always worries about studies, take less interests in physical activities and do not mix up with colleagues think your teenagers is suffering from HLS. Moreover such teenagers generally breakdown as and when they are unable to find solution to a problem. They loss appetite, show lack of crave for food; always show total concern for study and fear of not performing well. I suggest that if you note above traits take following actions;

o Interact regularly on daily basis with your ward;

o Make sure your teenager does not misunderstands your ambition with his goals;

o Ensure your teenagers does not fear you if he does not perform as per your expectations;

o Most important assist your teenagers in warding of his apprehensions and fears about your ambitions;

o Finally dedicate your leave and full time to your teenager during examinations;

o Never remind your teenagers as to how much you spent on tuitions and extra coaching during or after examinations. It is possible that your financial information might force him to commit suicide when your teenager could not come up to your expectations.

o Strictly adhere to reward and punishment policy rigidly so that your teenager does not feel afraid of severe punishments than rewards.

· Absolute Level Stress (ALS). Absolute Level Stress (ALS) is defined as the state of

mind of a teenager when he always exhibits signs of agony, apprehension, panic, fretfulness,

fear and nervousness through the time for performing well in studies. Such teenagers always speak about their studies and try to become bookish worm during studies. Their parents either want such teenagers to join their line of profession or follow a line which they could not achieve in life. OAP generally breakdown their teenagers before and during examinations. Over 75% teenagers of OAP often suffer from ill health and under nourishment. Such teenagers reflect irritating and repulsive behaviors. They do not want to be disturbed and remain isolated. They often neglect food and try to eat minimum just to survive during examinations. If such symptoms are seen, rest assures your teenager is suffering from ALS. As it is such teenagers suffer from ALS through out the year, I suggest the following preventive measures both by parents and teachers;

o First of all define your ambition to teenagers as his challenge and not the commitment to achieve;

o Interact daily before and during examinations;

o Try to share lighter moment with your teen during off hours;

o Ensure your teenager share one meal with the family during day;

o Always remind your teenagers that his achievements are desired but not at the cost of his health or life;

o Never give money to teenagers to go and have fun rather take him on picnic with family to refresh his mind from studies once a week;

o Asses and know your teenager’s capabilities first and then disclose your ambitions;

Once parents have understood the capabilities of their teenagers, I am very sure

that they would restrict their ambition to what their teenager could achieve, thus, falling in the categories of CP. I also urge that:

· One; parents should not impose their own dreams on their teenagers;

· Two; should facilitate their teenagers to become good human beings rather materialistic toy machine of work;

· Three; share lighter veins moments with your teenagers once a week;

· Four; never let your teenagers feel afraid of you; and

· Five; make sure your teenagers takes your ambitions as your challenge and forced ambitions.

I hope if my Ezine readers are able to spread my message we would be able to

distinguish between parents having Could, Would, Should and Must ambition approaches and take suitable preventive measures to save their teenagers from Scourge of Teenagers Suicide (STS).

Simple Tips And Facts For Contact Lens Shoppers

If you’ve always wanted to change your eye color, color contact lenses can provide baby blues, gorgeous greens, heavenly hazels — even various patterns and designs. Contact lens sales are regulated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission.) In the U.S. contact lens marketplace, 82 percent wear soft lenses, 16 percent wear rigid gas-permeable and only 2 percent wear hard.

You’ll want to take simple precautions to make any lens purchase safe and effective. With a contact lens prescription in hand, it’s possible to buy your contact lenses from stores, the Internet, over the phone, or by mail.

If you live an active lifestyle, NIGHT & DAY breathable lenses will allow you 30 hours of continuous wear. Disposable lenses don’t come with instructions for cleaning and disinfecting, while those labeled specifically for planned replacement do. Contact lenses are often more complex than they appear to be.

Although easier to handle and less likely to tear, rigid gas permeable lenses are not as comfortable initially as soft contacts and it may take a few weeks to get used to wearing the RGPs, compared to just a few days for soft contacts. You can mark rigid lenses to show which lens is for which eye; they don’t rip or tear, so they’re easy to handle. There are several types of lenses including: soft contact lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses, extended wear lenses and disposables.

Bifocal correction is possible with both soft and rigid lenses. In some models, each lens corrects for near and distance vision and in others, one lens is for near vision, and the other is for distance. Soft lenses are easier to adjust and are much more comfortable than rigid lenses, because they conform to the eye and absorb and hold water.

It’s important for your eyes to have a rest, without lenses, for at least one night following each scheduled removal. Some doctors prescribe disposables as planned-replacement lenses, which are removed, disinfected, and reused before being discarded.

When you receive your order, if you think you’ve received an incorrect contact lens, check with your doctor or eye care professional right away; don’t accept any substitution unless your eye care professional approves it. Compare prices - get quotes from two or three online and offline suppliers. Always ask what rebates are available.

Wherever you buy, shop for quality and value and don’t forget you want to do what’s best for your eye health. If you have an insurance plan, the insurance plan’s seller’s prices may or may not be better than what you can find elsewhere; this should be just one option when you’re shopping for lenses. Rebates may be available from the seller, from the manufacturer, for first-time contact lens wearers and for individuals who buy lenses and get an eye exam.

There are many good contact lens retailers now on the Internet making their lenses available at a good discount for prescription and non-prescription lenses. You can buy contact lenses from an eye doctor, on the Internet, from an optical store or a warehouse club. Check out how long the online supplier has been in business before you buy.

Basic rule: never swap your contact lenses with anyone else. Microorganisms may be present in distilled water, so always use commercial sterile saline solutions, if you plan to use enzyme tablets in water for disinfections. Getting a proper fit is essential; contact lenses that are poorly fitted can lead to eyesores, eye inflammation, and eye abrasions.

Be aware that extended-wear (overnight) contact lenses - rigid or soft - increase the risk of corneal ulcers, which are infection-caused eruptions on the cornea that can lead to blindness; symptoms include vision changes, eye redness, eye discomfort or pain, and excessive tearing. Under the binding down of a rigid contact lens during sleep, the flow of tears and oxygen to the cornea is reduced; lack of oxygen leaves the eye vulnerable to infection. If your eyes become red or irritated, remove the lenses immediately and consult with your doctor.

Laser surgery and its risks can be frightening and too expensive for some people; contacts can provide a safe, comfortable and time-tested alternative. Make sure you’ve done your homework before you buy any pair of contact lenses. Remember to use only contact lenses that are FDA-approved and only if prescribed by a licensed eyecare professional.

Fast Healing Natural Dry Skin Care Treatments

As we age, our skin produces less of the natural oil that helps it retain its moisture. Xeroderma, the medical name for dry skin, occurs most commonly on the lower legs, arms, the sides of the abdomen and thighs and is a very common condition.

The epidermis contains no blood vessels, and cells in the deepest layers are nourished by diffusion from blood capillaries extending to the uppermost layers of the dermis. The outermost layer of epidermis consists of 25 to 30 layers of dead cells. The average square inch of skin holds 650 sweat glands, 20 blood vessels, 60,000 melanocytes, and more than a thousand nerve endings.

Dry skin can be due to a genetic condition but it’s not common. Forced-air furnaces may make skin even drier than it already is. Dry skin can also be a sign of an underactive thyroid.

When the oil glands do not supply enough lubrication to the skin, the skin becomes dehydrated. Dry skin can be caused by a deficiency of vitamin A, systemic illness, overexposure to sunlight or some medications. Dry skin happens more often in the winter when the cold air outside and heated air inside cause the humidity to be low.

Eating foods high in omega-3’s is particularly important for people with dry skin or acne. Get 20-30 minutes of sunshine daily on your arms and/or legs; sunshine triggers the body’s production of Vitamin D3, which is essential to having healthy skin. When the skin is dry and dehydrated, dead skin cells remain on the skin which may block pores and promote acne, zits, blemishes, or other breakouts; drink plenty of pure water.

If you use moisturizers, use the thick, oily-type which work better for dry skin. Apply cool compresses to any itchy areas. Use bath oils and moisturizers, or better yet, coconut oil, daily.

Apply coconut oil to irritated or chapped lips as well; it’s edible, so it’s safe and so healing to the lips. Coconut oil is the best healing, soothing, and moisturizing treatment I’ve found for dry skin; in fact all types of skin conditions, skin eruptions, pimples, acne, milia, irritations, cuts, burns, fungus, etc. If you have acne, eczema or any type of dermatitis coconut oil will treat and quickly heal these skin conditions too.

Dry skin contributes to fine lines and wrinkles; coconut oil helps prevent the onset by keeping the skin soft and supple. I buy coconut oil by the gallon; it’s cheaper for a whole gallon of coconut oil than a small jar of department store, name-brand moisturizer.

Functions of the skin are disturbed when it’s not clean; it becomes more easily damaged, the release of antibacterial compounds decreases and it’s more prone to develop infections. Many skin conditions can be converted into clear, healthy skin by using natural home remedies.

If your dry skin lasts for a long time and is itchy or feels hot when you touch it, see your doctor. Call your skin doctor if dryness and itching are preventing you from sleeping. Following some of the above treatments, your dry skin should be well on its way to recovery.

Discipline - When Is it OK to Spank Your Child?

Many of us grew up in families in which parents were not afraid to spank their children. Today, however, the political climate has shifted and it has become politically incorrect to spank. Yet I can tell you as both a mother and clinical psychologist there are times when a good spanking can work like a charm.

But what does a “good spanking” mean? For a spanking to be effective, parents need to follow certain rules. First, you must keep in mind that disciplining your child should be done to change the child’s behavior – not to inflict pain. So when you spank your child you should never strike him or her with your hand; to do so, reduces your reaction time and turns your hand into a weapon. Instead, use a harmless object such as a plastic spoon, which you might dub “Mr. Persuasion.”

While you don’t want to spank a child who is having a temper tantrum because that will only make the problem worse, a spanking may be perfectly appropriate when a young child persists in doing something dangerous after your attempts to reason with him have failed. Negotiating with a child and giving him a time out have their place, but a child who runs out in the street after repeated warnings not to, or a five-year-old who continues to hit his younger sister after being told to stop, may only “get the message” after being spanked.

A properly performed spanking will cause your child to think about his behavior and give him ownership of his actions.

Of course, no two children are the same and every child has a different temperament. Some kids will “get the message” and never need the added persuasion of a little “love pat,” as I affectionately called it with my own children.

Should you choose to spank, use it sparingly and thoughtfully; never treat it as an empty threat and never perform a spanking in public where the child may experience humiliation. If you warn your child that he will be spanked if he continues to break a rule and you have outlined the consequences for breaking that rule, it is fine to say, “If you continue to hit your sister, you will be spanked.”

In my practice, I see a lot of parents who have spoiled children because they never spanked them or disciplined them in any way. You can learn from their failures by not letting your children walk all over you beginning at a young age.

Parents have to expect that they will need to discipline their children over many years. Granted, disciplining your child is a tough role to play but it is a necessary one as children are hardwired to misbehave. It is natural for them test your limits as they grow into separate individuals. Smart, confident parents will remember that spanking can be an important tool in their discipline arsenal. They must remember also that the goal of disciplining is to teach your children accountability and that they always have a choice.

Productive Traffic Building - Make More Money With Traffic Building

Traffic building is the fuel that makes all the internet money happen. I have been writing a lot lately about my new formula for making money online – it is just this: traffic times conversions times price = the money you make online.

Nothing else matters. If anything matters, it is only because it impacts one of those pieces of the equation.

Last night I pulled out a calculus book – I was working on some equations – it makes my girlfriend cringe – she can’t stand the math. But I like it – and I really believe that is the formula that works online.

You see, there is a new system everyday – have you bought any lately? Have you read them, studied them? They are all the same – traffic, conversions, and price. All you have to do to get the next system is to vary how you get the traffic, or how you get the conversions, or how you do the pricing. Maybe you laugh now – but the next time you buy something online to teach you a system – think about this formula and remember me!

So how do I do my traffic building? I am an incessant article writer. Then I put a call to action at the end of the article, just like in this one.

And it is called article marketing. I wish I had coined that term. But I didn’t. I have the make money formula. And for me, the traffic comes from articles. You can see I believe in it, if you have searched for my article count lately.

I write articles, drive the readers to my squeeze page, opt them into my list, and then I get them to convert.

Do you want to learn more about how I do it? I have just completed my brand new guide to article marketing success, ‘Your Article Writing and Promotion Guide‘

Trust as a Major Selling Factor in Competitive Markets

What would happen if a world class violinist, playing on a 3.5 million dollar instrument, interpreted some of the most timeless and beautiful music ever composed in a big city metro station?

That’s not a rhetorical question any longer since it was done in an experiment conducted by the Washington Post.

Joshua Bell, an internationally recognized violin virtuoso was invited to play at l’Enfant Plaza, a Washington metro station on their Orange line.

And nobody gave a hoot.

The biggest crowd that gathered was a whopping 4 people when one lady recognized the Bell and stood awestruck at the idea of him playing in such a lowly location.

And that’s when you realize how hard a marketer’s job really is.

If something beautiful and free can’t be given away, how does one sell anything in this world? So many product owners leave it up to chance. Their sales copy is thin and poorly written. Their funnel is clumsy and uninviting.

So how do you stand out and gain the traction you need to make it work?

1) Referral:

Here I use the term in the following manner: the authority and goodwill you created with your readers and audience gives you the credibility to refer them to a purchase. The products own message dims in importance compared to the power of your recommendation.

2) Differentiation:

How are you attracting people to be exposed to you and your messages? Are your ads the same as everyone else’s? Are you offering fresh valuable content: giving something away before you even mention you might want something in return? Can your audience take something from you without giving something back?

If you can answer yes to these questions and do it with personality, you are on the winning track.

3) Word of Mouth:

The other kind of referral and perhaps the most powerful of all. When someone you appreciate makes an uninterested suggestion, you are far more likely to listen than when exposed to an ad.

Even when you don’t know the person making the recommendation, if they seem genuine and sincere, that would at least spawn your curiosity.

Things would have turned out much differently in that metro station if a person had stood there in the middle of the way and told people “look at this guy, he’s really good”. A crowd is a self-reinforcing thing and I’m quite sure many people would have been late that to work that morning.

The underlying principle behind all this is trust. It comes in different shapes and forms.

Recommendations from friends and acquaintances come through outstanding quality. Direct recommendations from sellers to buyers come from the establishment of credibility.

As an affiliate, read your review over and ask yourself “would I trust me?” As a product owner, forget all the good things you know about yourself and your product and ask yourself “based on this message only, would I buy from me?”

Education and trust go hand in hand. That’s why people give freebies to get signups or write great content that only links to selling pages. That’s your opportunity to impress and teach, leaving your readers saying “I want more of that”.

Start Limiting TV In Your Household During National TV Turnoff Week

The word “play” is exoteric, which simply means that everyone knows the definition of “play.” And in fact, we do.

Everyone knows how to play catch, play tag, or what it means to be at play while running, jumping, or organizing a game of hide and seek. You can be at play while at work or while in front of a video game, or by enjoying a board game with your family, or even while sipping a latte at a local haunt. The point is, we all know how to play.

TV turnoff week is coming up April 23-29 (tvturnoff.org), and anyone who believes TV plays a larger role in their children’s lives than they would like, should participate. Turning off the television set for a week will dramatically illustrate just how much TV the modern American child watches; and how they will remember, naturally, how to play once the TV is turned off.

Children in America are sitting in front of a television, computer, or video game for an average of 30 hours a week. 30 hours! That is more time than they spend in school, more time than they spend eating, and more time than they spend with their parents. Many parents will be taken by surprise if they track their children’s TV time. This is a new-media addiction, and one that we aren’t quite sure how to handle as parents.

Many parents have an idea that their children are spending too much time in front of a screen, and many parents talk of how they wish their kids would have a childhood like the one they did. TV Turnoff Week offers parents a chance to explore that idea, and to discover that after a few hours without media an incredible thing happens to children of all ages: they play. They grab a ball and run outside. They call friend and organize a game. They play with toys, wrestle, build forts, and drink imaginary tea.

What parent, if given an opportunity like TV Turnoff Week, wouldn’t give it a whirl? Today’s parents remember what it was like to play as a child.

Here’s what parents can expect during TV turnoff week:

As soon as the TV is turned off, children might get a little agitated. This is because it takes no effort to sit in front of the TV and almost all other activities will require some effort. This agitation will last for only a short while, and then the child will change their mood from agitation to possible boredom. They may even ask what they should do with their new free time. For kids of all ages, the answer can always be the same: Play.

Play inside, play outside; call their friends. Sit down at the kitchen table and try to beat dad at Boggle. Spread out the living room furniture and beat mom at Twister. Find a model boat and see if it can be capsized in the tub. The point is, kids know how to play. And after they lose their media for a few hours, play will come naturally.

All American parents should take this opportunity to embrace TV Turnoff Week. It feels good to play, and it feels even better to watch children play.
