Herbology Training in America

Find Herbology Training in the United States and Canada. As a holistic healing art, herbology training is a superb addition to any natural health care practitioner’s knowledgebase or as a stand-alone education to students aspiring to become certified herbalists or herbal consultants.

Herbology training can be acquired through community workshops and seminars, correspondence courses, and through natural healing colleges or herbal schools. Depending on the herbology training program in which you enroll, you can anticipate varying levels of education and a broad range of curriculums.

In basic herbology training courses, students will be introduced to common herbs, herbal remedies and how to integrate herbs into daily life. In more comprehensive herbology training programs, candidates can gain hands-on education to become herbal and natural health consultants, and professional herbalists.

Courses involved in herbology training include fundamentals of herbs, herbal medicine manufacturing, herbology, herb identification, and other natural health therapies. A number of Chinese herbology training program provide these instructions, as well as theories and philosophy of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), and Yin/Yang tonic herbs and formula. In addition, in a Chinese herbology training course, students will gain an introduction to Chinese medicine and herbology, as well as therapeutic principles of Chinese herbology.

While each academic program varies from school to school, in-depth Western and Chinese herbology training can lead to certification and/or degree* (herbology training degrees not available at all colleges or institutions). In the vast majority of certified herbology training courses, one can expect an educational emphasis on case studies, in addition to comprehensive principles and applications of herbal medicine.

As with any academic plan, it is always wise for students to examine potential schools and seminars that offer herbology training. Though a number of these classes may be completed in as little as a few weeks; more advanced herbology training programs may last up to 2 years.

Whether one chooses to pursue a degree, certificate or personal enrichment, herbology training can help individuals to gain an overall understanding into how herbs can effectively be used both as natural healing remedies and in daily nutrition.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in finding herbology training, let career training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Explore career school programs near you.

Body Language And Attraction - Why We Get Confused

Body Language experts tell us that we can create rapport and increase our influence through an understanding of non-verbal communication. Sounds good - and it sells books. But is it true? And why is it that so many of us still find it very hard to read men/women’s body language?

Here is what modern communications science has to say about body language:

1. Not everything a man or woman does with his/her body is a message or signal…

Some everyday gestures used by both males and females may resemble those of flirting or seduction language though the person displaying these expressions and gestures may not necessarily be engaging in flirting or seduction behaviour. Body language such as smiling, gaze-holding, lip-licking, tucking hair behind the ears, head-cocking, rapid eye blinks, self-touching, and much more, may be ingrained personal habits more than flirting or seduction “come-ons.”

2. The indefinite relationship between emotion and expression makes it difficult to know what emotion is being expressed…

Even smiling, which we all recognize, can often cover a gamut of emotions. We may look at a person and think “Oh, he or she is smiling. He or she must be happy,” and may or may not be accurately identifying the emotion behind the smile, which could be anything from happiness, polite greeting, anger, anxiety, disbelief, confusion, apology, sarcasm or contempt.

3. There is always a good chance that some of the emotions we read from a person’s body language are a fabrication based on our own understanding of reality, our experiences, our perceptions, and opinions which may have nothing to do with the other person…

When we notice that our date’s facial expressions or gestures don’t fit our own understanding of the emotion we associate with such expressions or gestures, we form a negative judgment about the person when in fact the emotion we have attributed to the facial expression or gesture may not have been what the sender intended. Or you may display what you believe to be “positive” body language but if the other person is, for example, in an aggressive or angry state, your gesture may be interpreted as provocation or harassment.

4. Contrary to what most of us believe, body language can be manipulated and controlled, both consciously and subconsciously…

For example a person who knows that people believe those who are lying can’t look you in the eye, can very easily master the “honest trait” of looking directly into someone’s eyes and can fool anyone who is focused on just this one belief. A person who knows that a hug indicates friendship can consciously hug his or her worst enemy - with a smile.

5. The way we use and interpret body language literally depends on where we come from…

Research indicates that we tend to be more sensitive and more able to detect changes in the body language of people similar to our own social, cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds, as well as body size, age, gender, etc.

So, what am I trying to say? To be savvy about men/women interest signals don’t read too much into body language signals. Smilers, nodders and fakers can play you on all the way to rejection, so don’t assume too much when someone offers certain non-verbal signals. And don’t waste much time trying to analyze their body language which is, as described above, often not predictive. When using words, we ask for clarification, but in body language we cannot ask someone to repeat him or herself when we don’t understand their body language. Also, if we catch ourselves using the “wrong” body language, we can’t say “Just a minute,” and try again.

The approach I teach and write about in my book is very simple. It is based on tuning into a particular person’s individual energy or sexual vibes and engaging that person at his or her own vibration. It is like speaking to someone using their native emotional body language. It communicates acceptance and openness which in turn puts him or her into a more at ease state, creating a positive, enjoyable experience for both of you. When that kind of emotional connection happens, they think and feel the two of you are emotionally related.

Niche Mastery - How to Choose a Niche That is Right for You IV

Niche Mastery - How to Choose a Niche That is Right for You IV

, and both are going to produce relative results. By relative, I mean that you can estimate that one niche has more or less competition than another, but it may be difficult to pin an exact level of competition on one niche. The key assumption here is that if there is more competition for one niche area, then there must be more profits in that one niche area. Of course, as you are interpreting the following results, it is important to use some creative thinking about the results, rather than strictly using the numerical figures.

For example, the niche area of ‘dog rescue’ might show a reasonable level of monthly searches, but that may just be that dog owners often search for information on dog rescue. This may or may not, however, be a profitable online niche, unless you are a local dog rescuer. So a little creative thought is necessary when choosing a niche area.

So, to evaluate the amount of competition there may be, on a relative basis, in a specific niche online, type in your niche term in “quotes” into the google or yahoo search engines. Either of the two search engines will give you a ’search results’ number - a count of the different web sites that are dedicated or are optimized for that particular niche. The more sites there are for that keyword, the more competition there is in that niche, as a rule.

The second thing you can do to determine the amount of competition in a niche is to count the number of overture (in yahoo) or Adwords (in google) sponsored ads there are. If there are few, that generally means that the niche area is not a profitable one, and therefore web companies are generally unwilling to bid on keywords in that niche. However, it can also mean that the niche is perhaps smaller (perhaps gets lighter search volume) and therefore is not considered to be highly profitable, but is indeed a profitable area. The reverse is generally more revealing. If a particular search term shows that there is a high number of sponsored search results (ads) then it is generally the case that the market is quite profitable, and has resulted in many companies bidding to be in the search results for that term.

Once again, this is a highly relative and speculative area of online research, and the only sure way to know that a particular niche can be profitable is to build a web site and test it. Also, in my opinion, just about any niche online can be profitable, if the correct product is created which meets the needs of the people in that niche area.

Niche Mastery - How to Choose a Niche That is Right for You III

So how do you know if a niche is right for you? Over time, I have discovered that there is a particular ’sweet spot’ on the internet, where particular niche areas have a certain amount of traffic, and a certain amount of competition.

These particular niche areas can be very profitable, because there are fewer competitors in the market. Generally speaking, however, the more sponsored search listings there are, the more profitable is the niche.

Next, write a list of words that people might use if they are looking for more information on that niche area. Using one of the following tools, check on the amount of web traffic that niche area is receiving. Generally speaking, the more traffic, the more interest. Of course, with more interest, comes more competition.

Generally speaking, you want a niche area that has a very minimum of 50,000 searches per month, if your entire focus is going to be on that one niche.

However, another angle to take, and many successful internet marketers do just this, is to find many niche areas with a smaller amount of traffic, and build several niche web sites rather than one. For example, instead of choosing one niche area with 50,000 monthly searches, they choose five niches that have a combined monthly search volume of 50,000+. Although they have to create and maintain 5 times as many web sites and email lists, they prefer the generally lower amount of competition in these niches, as many marketers will ignore them, assuming there isn’t enough business in the niche. So either of those two strategies can be effective.

Niche Mastery - How to Choose a Niche That is Right for You II

Niche Mastery - How to Choose a Niche That is Right for You II

One of the things that you really need to do online is choose a niche. To help you choose, ask yourself these questions:

What do you like to do? What are your hobbies? What do you do better than most other people? What do you know a lot about?

Make a list of each of the answers to the preceding questions.

This next step may be a little more difficult, and may involve using some intuition. Which of these areas are areas where people online might be willing to spend money to learn more about or to purchase things in that niche area?

If you are having difficulty with this, spend some time searching for information about your niche area online. Using search engines, look up words pertaining to your niche area, and click into some of the web sites that come up in the search engine results. Are the web sites primarily information sites, or do they appear to be selling something? Are the web sites professionally created and appear to be profitable (that is a tough one to use your intuition on, but just ask yourself if you might buy something from the web sites in the search engine results)?

Are there sponsored ads to the right of and to the top of the search results? Generally if there are none or very few, it can be assumed that the particular niche area is not profitable enough to justify spending money sending traffic to those niche sites. That is, however, not always the case. Sometimes there are ‘undiscovered’ niche areas that can be quite profitable, but have not been noticed.

Niche Mastery - How to Choose a Niche That is Right for You I

Internet Marketing is so very exciting, and for those of you who are really willing to work to make it happen, can be lucrative. But when I say work, I really mean work. Surfing and answering emails is not work. If you are going to work online for 20 hours per week, turn off the TV, quit searching, and actually work.

One of the most important things you can do online is to choose a strong niche, one that you both have interest in, and that will make you money.

I am quite serious when I say that you should have interest in the niche area you choose. As you are building your business, you will be writing ads, writing emails, and writing articles, and perhaps even authoring ebooks on your niche area topic. If you do not have an active interest in your niche area, you will probably find that it is very difficult to write about your niche area. You will also be answering questions from people on your list about your niche area. If you do not have some interest in the niche you choose, you will likely find that it is quite boring to write about. And that will make it difficult for you to stay focused, and it will make it difficult to make money in your niche area.

So how do you choose a niche area that is right for you?

The first thing you need to do is identify areas that you have experience and/or interest in.

What do you like to do? What are your hobbies? What do you do better than most other people? What do you know a lot about?

Women in History - Making a Mark in Industry

The contributions women have made throughout history are many as they are varied. Celebrating women’s history month involves celebrating remarkable women such as Roxanne Wilson, Twanda Joseph, Dr. Leslie Dauphin, Chip Hurd, and Joy Enriquez all of whom excel while maintaining various roles in business, science, television, and music.

BUSINES BRIEF

Among other characteristics, Roxanne Wilson is described by Donald Trump as “very, very smart,” brilliant, a good speaker, and very impressive. Wilson was the first African American woman to make it to the final four during season five of NBC’s, The Apprentice.

Intelligence, ambition, and congeniality are traits that enabled Wilson to secure a spot on the show. Along with the ability to lead and counsel, these same traits contribute to Wilson’s success as an appellate attorney, business owner, television host, speaker, and author.

Wilson is proof that perseverance pays. “If you never try, you won’t ever fail, but you won’t succeed either,” she advises.

As an author, speaker, trainer, and talk show host, Twanda Joseph is positioned to transform the workplace in a meaningful and creative way. A former Arthur Andersen employee, Joseph’s career took a drastic turn when the firm was indicted for its involvement in the Enron accounting scandal. Even though the Andersen scandal cast a shadow on her career, Joseph chose to turn tragedy into triumph. In 2002, Joseph formed WiseEffects to address challenges employees face in corporate America.

WiseEffects is a professional services firm whose mission is to “use multiple communication channels to connect employees with wisdom for the workplace.”

In addition to hosting radio and television broadcasts, Joseph serves as a facilitator for seminars on diversity, change management, conflict resolution, and communication.

Cricket Sounds - The Sounds Of Nature

There is nothing like a warm, star filled night in the wilderness, when the most prevalent sound that can be heard is that of crickets. Crickets chirping on a warm summer night could truly be described as the sound of nature. Nature has many, many sounds available to be heard, but very few carry the kind of meaning that chirping crickets do. In many ways, the sound of crickets is what nature is all about.

William Shakespeare said, ” And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything.” He obviously didn’t refer directly to the chirp of crickets, but could have in my opinion. Few things say “nature” like the wonderful sound of crickets chirping. It’s almost as if these little creatures are calling out to us to remember the serenity and peace of being in nature.

The scientific reason for the sound that crickets make is to attract a mate, and actually only male crickets are capable of making the sound. Were you aware of the fact that there are over 800 species of crickets? And that cricket sounds are species specific? This is amazing, when you think about it, because without experience they all sound pretty much the same to most people. In many cultures, such as Asia, crickets are considered to be good luck. As a matter of fact, in many Asian and European countries, crickets are kept in cages in peoples homes. This probably isn’t at all a bad idea. Bringing nature to your world, if you will.

Nature and the chirping of crickets go hand in hand; I don’t think anyone can deny that fact. Henry David Thoreau said, “The bluebird carries the sky on his back”, and I would add The cricket carries nature in it’s sound.

List Building - How to Use List Building in Your Niche Area Online

List building is such an effective tool online, especially in the niches. You see, you really have to build a relationship with people online, especially in the niches.

For example, imagine that your niche area online is pet supplies. Let’s assume that you provide a wide variety of pet supplies, including toys, food, and medicine.

Let’s also assume that you provide pet supplies for a number of different pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and hamsters.

If you have only one list, you will be sending out a wide range of offers to your entire list. You will be sending dog product emails to people who have cats, you will be sending toy emails to people who are looking for food - the list is practically inexhaustible. Many times the dog owner, after receiving emails from you about cats and toys and birds will unsubscribe from your list, or they will simply stop opening your emails.

However, if you were to segment your lists by type of pet, for example, and only send dog people dog emails and cat people cat emails, the loyalty level on your email campaign will go way up. Your retention rates will be a lot higher, and you will have a higher open rate and click through rate on your emails, because your emails are more accurately targeted to your subscribers.

The drawback to this is that for each additional list you create, you have to create an additional email campaign. So you have to come up with a balance between over-segmenting your lists and having too many types of subscribers on one list.

In theory, you should have as many different lists as the demographics of your list mandates. The most important thing is that you at least separate lists by major differences in subscribers, such as dog or cat ownership.

For the most part, the more tightly you target your lists, you will make more money per month per list.
