Dreaming

Every one of us admitting or not, dreams of winning “The Big One”. I’ve seen the line at the Lotto kiosk when the jackpot is pretty high. The hope of becoming an instant multi-millionaire is alluring. It is just a fantasy for majority of people though.
But I do know one thing it does not hurt to dream. In fact it is good for your well being. It gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling, imagining you can have or do anything you ever dreamed of.

This is the alluring fantasy of having that ability. But only the ones that have truly achieved the “Financial Independence” or freedom can experience.
We all know that our chances of winning the jackpot are slim to none. Yet it does not seem to stop people from spending their money on an almost impossible dream. People think that if they win, all of our troubles disappear. The truth is that if we have not learned to address our troubles no matter what our financial situation is, those troubles will not vanish into thin air. The winning money might be your temporary solution, but certainly not permanent. I hurt so many stories about the many winners that became broke shortly after winning.

I think the solution is not the lotto, or the trouble of handling the winning if you are that lucky, is getting there on your own merits. Make your own fortune, instead of waiting for something to fall of the sky.

There many business opportunities all around us, especially in US. Most people in the world are not as fortunate. The only one that gives global opportunities to the average folks is an on-line business, which I personally like.

But you do have to want this. You can’t just sit and wait for something to happen. I remember this statement: you can’t do the same thing, and expect different results. If you tried something and it did not work, try doing it differently or something different.
Most times you need to give a heck of a try, not a half way. To make money you don’t need to be a rocket scientist.

Well let’s get started.

The number one thing is the will. I do say this often: if there is the will there is a way.
The second thing you need is to choose the business you are going to do. Commit yourself to learning to do everything you need to know to succeed. Than, commit yourself and do it. You do need to know how to make yourself successful in what ever you do. Write down your list of goals you want to achieve, keep it with you always and read it to your self every available minute. This will remind you why you are doing what you are doing. It is great motivation on daily basis. By the way, you have to be your own cheer leader and believe in your self, even if there is no one supporting you.

I cheer my self on and constantly reminding myself why I’m doing something. For me it is natural for some it might be a challenge, but do it anyway. I also take time to see what I have done, what I need to improve on, and work on that. Give yourself rewards every time you have passed a roadblock or had some success, even small one.

I have not yet achieved all of my goals, (by the way they are always changing). But I am well on my way to financial freedom. I look for opportunities to always better my self and better my business. They are everywhere we just need to identify ad go for it.

One important thing is thing is; learn how to be successful in one business first, before you jump into another one. The mistake some people make is starting too many businesses, than become overwhelmed and quit. Don’t be that person, but do expand your horizons and create multiple streams of income. Don’t be stuck in one area, succeed in all. The world is full of opportunities; you just need to take them. By the way when you are looking for them, and you will see them.

One other thing, don’t expect something for nothing. Be willing to make an investment for what it is necessary. Don’t believe any one, if they say that you don’t need any money at all to make money. I found this not to be true. Some business, take more money than others. But all require some kind of financial investment. Be prepared and put away some money, so when the right opportunity comes along you will be able to take advantage of it. Another way is to leverage it on credit cards or loans, if you do this, please be responsible and don’t just spend your credit cards on shopping. That’s not using your money wisely. You will be able to spend your money shopping when you have achieved that success. One more thing don’t fall for scam, if it says, that you need to do absolutely nothing and the money will pour in with out any afford at all. Well the truth is that even businesses with automated systems in it, will require minimal amount of your effort. So don’t fall for a scam. The one of my on line business that I do is called “Passport to Wealth”. The possibilities with the on line business are endless, but you will need to put some afford to succeed. If this is not for you its ok, keep looking.

Remember to follow your dreams and don’t let anyone steal them from you. Go out there and make your own riches.

Search for the true riches that will give you the since of pride a filling of an accomplishment, that you will never get from winning the lottery.

Good luck in all of your endeavors.

Distinguishing Characteristics of the Best Affiliate Programs

There may be literally hundreds of affiliate programs ongoing in the Internet at present, but only a handful of those may qualify as the best and the pick of the crop. It would be in your interest as well to join the best affiliate programs because there are greater chances for you to earn big money from a select few but highly recommended affiliate programs than joining numerous affiliate programs that offer little or absolutely no support to its affiliates.

Distinguishing Characteristics of the Best Affiliates Programs

Expect the best affiliate programs to have the following characteristics. If the affiliate program you’ve got your eye on offers everything on this list as well then don’t waste your time: join it right away!

The Best Affiliate Programs are Picky.

They don’t waste time with useless affiliate websites. They only choose to accept affiliate websites they are convinced of having the potential to grow with them. And realistically speaking, you’ll benefit more from a selective affiliate program because at the end of the day, other affiliates of the online merchant are your competitors as well. But of course, if there are only a few of you in number, you get the luxury of thinking them as comrades.

The Best Affiliate Programs are Selling Something Unique.

It could be a product or service, but the keyword here is unique. The affiliate merchant is selling something that few - or if you’re lucky no one else - is selling and that’s to your advantage because once again, you’ve got the market all to yourself. This however is probably the hardest qualification of all so if the affiliate program you’ve got your eye on has everything but this - it’s okay. Best doesn’t mean perfect, after all.

The Best Affiliate Programs have Room and Plans for Growth.

The rate of money you’re earning from an affiliate program may become stagnant or unchanging if the affiliate company is uninterested of or unable to grow its business. This is obviously bad news for them but it’s bad news for you as well: when you’ve sold everything there is to sell to your existing customers, what next? Working with such an affiliate program simply puts to waste all the years you’ve worked hard. If you wish for an affiliate program to be a permanent source of income for you, make sure that the company you’ll be working with has definite long-term plans.

The Best Affiliate Programs Offer Competitive Rates.

Naturally! Why work for an affiliate program that offers substandard rates when you have the opportunity to work for something better? Always look for the best rates. Take your time to browse the Internet. It’s better to have a small group of affiliate programs that offer competitive rates than a large number of programs which offer lower fees. Why work more when you don’t have to? Why work for less when you don’t have to?

The Best Affiliate Programs Don’t Compete with their Affiliates.

Again, this may seem like a given, but there are still a number of affiliate programs who insist on cheating on their affiliates and there are still a number of affiliates who let themselves be cheated on. Affiliate programs work better when members and the parent company work together and not against each other.

The Best Affiliate Programs are bound by the Law and Ethics.

They don’t hesitate to show you the full contract upon request. The terms and conditions are clearly and fully explained and you’re welcome to inquire as often as you need about working with them. They treat you in an ethical manner. They don’t cheat you out of your money. They’re even willing to negotiate because they understand it’s your right to do so.

The Best Affiliate Programs have Reliable and Accurate Tracking Systems.

That way you’d be able to get a hold of your sales or lead records any time you want to. Don’t feel shy to ask what tracking system software they’re using. Having a reliable and accurate tracking system would ensure that you’re being paid the correct amount of commission every month.

The Best Affiliate Programs Always Offer Marketing Support.

Last but not the least, the best affiliate programs understand that the success of affiliates are their success as well so make sure they provide as much resources and support they can afford to their affiliates.

Plan Less, Connect More

As I write this, the Boston Celtics basketball team is celebrating last night’s victory. Not because it put them into first place… in fact, quite the opposite. Last night’s win mercifully broke a team record, 18 game losing streak.

Things were very different around here twenty years ago. Back then, the Celtics were a great team, and - unlike today, where not only can you get seats, you could probably suit up and play for a few minutes if you asked nicely - tickets were impossible to find. So when my boss handed me two “luxury box” tickets to a Celtics-Lakers game, I was thrilled.

I’d been to the old Boston Garden a couple of times before, but when my friend Fred and I arrived for the game, we weren’t quite sure where to go for the luxury boxes. After wandering around a bit, we found the entrance: A dilapidated-looking elevator, hidden in a corner and manned by an equally dilapidated-looking security guard.

Being the street smart, world travelers that we were, Fred and I took one look at the uninviting entrance and quickly deduced that there probably wouldn’t be any food stands or roaming snack vendors on the other side of that elevator ride. So we stopped to wolf down a couple of hot dogs each, and five minutes later, when we boarded the elevator, we were happy at having “planned ahead.”

You’ve probably already guessed the punch line.

As we discovered, one of the things that makes the luxury boxes so luxurious is the fact that they are stocked to the gills with (free) soda, beer, snacks and a rich assortment of hot food. They even have a man in a white coat and chef hat who arrives pushing a dessert cart at halftime (a happy surprise that prompted Fred to ask, “What’s next, massages?”).

We consumed all we could that night, all the while wishing we hadn’t “wasted space” on hot dogs. Clearly, thinking too far ahead does not always work to your advantage.

Similarly, in working with a new client on an E-Newsletter, one topic which invariably comes up is the “editorial calendar.” Successful businesspeople tend to like planning and structure, and my clients are no exception.

I do my best, however, to convince them that this element of organization is a bad idea.

You see, to me, the best E-Newsletter content is spontaneous - less like successive chapters in a book, and more like a series of great lunchtime conversations. A little of this, a little of that. A little business, a little personal. A little humor, a little serious. You mix it all together, you have a nice time, and when you leave - although you may not remember exactly what was discussed - you make a mental note to get together again soon.

An E-Newsletter, after all, is just a glorified e-mail. On the communications continuum between writing a PhD thesis on the one hand and chatting with your boss in the men’s room on the other (assuming you’re both men), it’s much more down at the men’s room end of the equation.

Consequently, the best E-Newsletters are not so much about publishing, as they are about connecting. In my experience, planning topics in advance dampens this connection, and leads to dry, overly thought out, difficult to give birth to, missives.

Bottom Line: Let yourself and your colleagues off the hook, and just write about what’s on your mind today. I guarantee it will be more interesting for your readers, less effort for you, and a better reflection of your authentic point of view. Not a bad way to make the phone ring.

P.S. Not creating an editorial calendar ahead of time does not preclude having a file of “possible future ideas,” something which in fact, I recommend. The idea, however, is to select the topic of the month based on your current state of mind, rather than a preplanned schedule.

List Building - Create or Buy a GiveAway Product for Your Squeeze Page I

One of the most important things you need for your squeeze page is a giveaway product. This simply gives the visitor a good, tangible reason to become a member of your opt in email list.

By offering a product that they can immediately download, you give them a good reason to give you their name and email address - this allows the transaction to literally be an exchange at this point.

One of the least expensive, highest value free giveaways is a digital ebook, full of information related to your niche, and of strong value to your visitor.

For example, if your niche is deep sea fishing, you could create an information product that teaches basic safety technique of deep sea fishing. By creating a product like this, it serves not only as a free gift, but as a qualifier - only people genuinely interested in deep sea fishing will give you their name and email address in exchange for an electronic product about deep sea fishing safety.

So what is the easiest way to create a high value - low cost information product like this?

First of all, the length of this product should be short - roughly 8 - 10 pages in length. The reason for this is that many subscribers will not thoroughly read a free product that is much longer than 8 - 10 pages, and if the subscriber consumes the product (that is, reads it completely), it is generally accepted that they will be more likely to purchase an additional product in the future.

List Building - Outline of Steps to Create a Squeeze Page

In creating a successful squeeze page, there are a number of elements that must be present to generate a high conversion rate or opt ins. Each one of these elements should be present on just about any squeeze page you create - much as specific elements are required when you create a sales page.

In fact, when you look at this list of steps to creating an effective squeeze page, you should notice the similarity with the steps to creating a functional sales page.

You see, in some sense, a squeeze page is a sales page. The critical difference (or similarity, depending on how you view it) is that the sales page is leading someone to feel compelled to buy a for-profit item for a monetary price, whereas the squeeze page is leading someone to feel compelling to ‘buy’ your ‘free gift’ for the price of their name and email address. And there is certainly a value and a cost to the opt ins’ email address and name. To you, the name and email address represent a specific lifetime value, and to the subscriber, there is a certain level of risk involved each time he gives out his name and email address. So the price of your ‘free giveaway’ is his email address, and your ‘payment’ for the ‘free giveaway’ is the lifetime value of the name and email address.

On this note, I recommend that you protect and value the names and email addresses in just the same way you would something of equivalent cash value. Of course when you begin your list, you have no idea how much that cash value is, but as your list grows and you make sales, you will be able to correlate the number of names and email addresses you have on your list with the dollar value of the sales you generate, and you will be able to calculate both a monthly and a lifetime value for each subscriber to your list.

Here is an outline of the steps necessary for creating a successful opt in squeeze page:

Create or Buy a GiveAway Product for Your Squeeze Page

Create a List of Benefits (not Features) for Your Squeeze Page

Write a Headline for Your Squeeze Page

Write Compelling Copy for Your Squeeze Page

Create Bullet Points for Your Squeeze Page

Create a Compelling Opt In Call to Action for Your Squeeze Page

Copy and Paste in Your Autoresponder Opt In Code

Now for the step by step instructions to building your squeeze page:

Preparing Your Web Site For List Building

No matter how you have your web site structured now, I recommend that you change the basic structure of it so that all your traffic-bearing pages (pages that are used as main entry pages) and your index page are converted into squeeze pages.

This allows you to maximize the value of every visitor that comes to your web site. You might ask why you need to also put a squeeze page on your main page or index page if you are not sending traffic to that page.

Many times someone will get to one of your squeeze pages, choose not to opt in, but since they still have some interest in you or your site, they will simply type in your main domain name and gain entrance to your web site in that fashion. If you have put a squeeze page on that index or main page, you have strengthened your list building model mechanics, and force the subscriber to opt in to gain entrance to the other meaningful pages of your web site.

Create a Squeeze Page

So what is a squeeze page? A squeeze page is a web page that has as its only purpose the opting in of subscribers to your email list.

A squeeze page should have no outbound links except perhaps your privacy policy and a contact page. Any additional outbound links on your squeeze page drag your conversion rate down dramatically, and probably exponentially.

By forcing the visitor to opt in to your list in order to gain access to your web site, you gain an incredible psychological advantage. You see, the typical web site visitor or surfer is so used to being able to get just about any information they want online by searching for it - and with you, they cannot. They have to give you their name and email address to get more information from you. And if the visitor is properly presold before they get to your web site, you create a ‘take away’ environment - you literally drive the person to want what you have even more, by taking away the option of just getting it for free (notice that any information they get from you is not free - they have to ‘pay you’ with their name and email address.

Any additional links you put on your squeeze page cut that suspense, cut that added value drastically. I have seen some squeeze pages with pay-per-click ads on the sides. To me, that is crazy. No matter what that pay-per-click click through is worth, it can hardly be consistently worth what a click into my email list is worth to me. Plus, it takes away from the exclusive value you are creating by limiting access to anything in your web site - and frankly, I believe you are cheapening your web site when you include pay-per-click as an option on a sales funnel web page.

List Building - Autoresponder Basics

First of all, what is an autoresponder? An autoresponder is a software or service that allows you to enter a subscribers’ information once and enable the subscriber to receive future messages at predetermined intervals. In this way, you can automate all of your emailing, ensuring that each subscriber receives the same message on a predetermined set interval. An autoresponder will generally allow you to track open rates and click through rates on each individual email, allowing you to make changes in the emails to create higher response and profitability.

There are two basics ways to use an autoresponder. You can purchase autoresponder software and host it on your web server, or you can use an autoresponder service.

I do not recommend purchasing autoresponder software and using it for your mailings. The biggest problem in today’s web environment is the propensity for your web host’s IP address to be banned by the major email providers. Because today’s subscribers will often report an email as spam, even when it is not, it is easy to banned by the email providers, and it is quite difficult to be allowed access to that email provider again. If you are, you will have to provide documentation that you are indeed following CAN-SPAM guidelines. Although you may technically be able to do that, it is time -consuming, especially if you have a large list.

I recommend using a professional autoresponder service. I prefer and use aweber. In the past I have made other recommendations, to give people choices, but I have found through my coaching that it is certainly easier for all of my clients to be using the same company. That way, I can easily give instructions for how to create a specific redirect, etc.
