The Cliffs to Torre Torre (Huancayo’s Envy))Peru)) A Poem With Notes

The Cliffs to Torre Torre
(Huancayo’s Envy))Peru))

Prehistoric Geological Monument near Huancayo

Tall up by the cliffs, in the township of Huancayo, stands
A cluster of piercing stone like pillars, lightening rods
From the Ancient-gods, with thousands of years being:

weather worn and torn and blistered;
These pillars of stone reach—heavenward.
Around this cluster, an engulfing, natural enclosure
Like an old cemetery guarded with erect towers and tombs;
Brownish rocks, baked by the sun, washed by the rains

from the heavens:
It is called ‘Torre Torre’ and rests below the cliffs of Huancayo,

alone.
It is the envy of the Valley, where both warrior and poet

have traveled.

#1788 4/13/2007

Note: The poem, ‘…Torre Torre’, is not referring to the island called ‘Bora Bora’ in the South Pacific, it is a geological wonder in and around Huancayo, Peru, beyond the Andes, in the Valley of Mantaro. How it got its name, I don’t know, but I’ve been to the site a number of times, and it is always fascinating to see the course the wind, and weather have taken on this geological wonder, how they worked to mold such things as these stone towers; primeval geological erosion. Fascinating I say, for surely they’ve been here longer than the city of Huancayo, habitants by some 325,000-citizens; an old Wanka culture once roamed this area, perhaps dating back to 1000 BC. The stone pillars are more tucked away in what I’d call a gorge. One can go down to see it, and actually walk through it, or one can go onto the cliffs above it, and look down over it, and if more adventurous, climb down into it, or like me, just observe it from a close distance, both ways.

For folks who wish to visit the site: Torre Torre is a geological formation of enormous towers of clayey soil, molded by the winds and rain, located very near to Cerrito de la Libertad.

Search Engine Optimization - It’s All About Quality Links!

Search Engine Optimization is a very difficult field to get down the path mostly because
search engine optimization is constantly changing. There are many different factors to
SEO but the general consensus amongst all of the professionals in this field is that SEO
is affected most by off page optimization features.

These include features like link building campaigns. If you are unable to get a lot of
links pointing at your website then ultimately any efforts that you make to optimize are
going to fail. The vast majority of your SEO campaign to properly SEO your website should
be in creating a number of quality and relevant links pointing towards it.

However, not just any links are good for SEO purposes and indeed the opposite is true;
some links can actually hurt your rankings and even worse get your site permanently banned
from the search engines because of its ability to cast a black light on all of your
SEO operations.

If you are linked to a link farm (a website that is nothing but links) then Google
will find this out and penalize or even ban your website.

So more important to the quantity of links (although this is still important) it is more
important to get relevant links that determines your success within this field.

In order to get quality links you need to do things like adding your website to relevant
directories and also things like writing articles, submitting them to different locations
and including a link to your website at the bottom of each of your articles.

These will serve to build up quality one-way links to your website and ultimately this is
going to be the most precious kind of linking for your SEO needs.

Choosing the Right Landscaping Equipment For Sale

Just like any hobby, a landscaping enthusiast has to spend some money to buy the tools and equipment to get the job done.

Landscaping equipment for sale are available in gardening supply shops. There are also landscaping equipment for sale in hardware stores and surplus stores.

For general maintenance of the garden, a person would need simple tools such as pitchforks, shovels, spades, trowels and hoes. These are needed when working with garden soil and getting rid of weeds.

A gardener would also need a good wheelbarrow to carry a lot of garden soil. It is also invaluable if the gardener wants to transport plants in containers all at once.

A rake and a stick broom are also needed for clearing out weeds and dead leaves. No other tools can do better for such purpose. Other tools the gardener would need are water cans so he could water the plants.

An important piece of equipment to buy is a tough, long garden hose. This will make watering the plants so much easier especially if the area has a lot of vegetation. It is also a good idea to purchase a variety of nozzles for the hose to control the spread of water.

For basic landscaping and garden maintenance, these tools are quite sufficient. But for the serious landscaper, he would need to acquire more sophisticated and more expensive tools or equipment. Usually, those who venture into serious landscaping will soon have to buy professional but used landscaping equipment for sale.

Powered lawnmowers are usually on the top of the list. Lawnmowers can cut the grass more quickly and evenly than doing the cutting by hand.

Another piece of advanced equipment to purchase is an electric trimmer. The long pole of the electric trimmer lets the gardener cut unwanted vegetation that is hard to reach. It also allows the gardener to trim hedges and lawn edges quickly and evenly.

Before buying any landscaping equipment for sale, it’s important to know that the quality of such equipment should not be sacrificed. If the tools are of bad quality, the landscaping job will be compromised.

The list of equipment might seems exhaustive. However, a person can buy them over the course of time rather than purchasing them all at once. With quality equipment and with the knowledge to use and care for them, a person can enjoy a beautiful garden for a lifetime.

Al Sharpton - A History

Al Sharpton became famous for his role in the Tawana Brawley, phony rape charge, in 1987.

Sharpton loudly proclaimed that a group of white men had abducted, raped and smeared feces on a 15-year-old black girl and that she was found lying in a garbage bag.

Sharpton accused a young prosecutor named Steve Pagones and challenged Pagones to sue. Pagones did just that and was awarded $345,000 for defamation.

In 1991, a seven year old black child was accidentally killed by a jewish driver in Brooklyn. Sharpton organized a march through a jewish neighborhood.

A jewish student, was confronted by a mob shouting “Kill the Jews!”
Yankel Rosenbaum studying to become a rabbi was stabbed to death.

In 1995 a Jewish owner of Freddie’s Fashion Mart had his rent raised by the United House of Prayer, a large black landlord in Harlem.

The owner in turn raised his rent on a black tenant. Sharpton organized a group of protesters who spit on customers and hurled racial insults while Sharpton warned: We will not stand by, “and allow them to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business.”

Eventually, one of the protestors, entered Freddy’s, shot four employees and set the store on fire.

Seven employees died in the fire.

In 2004 Sharpton sought the Democratic nomination. Did he apologize for any of this? Of course not.

Besides his other slurs against whites and Jews, when the seven year old boy was killed, Sharpton talked of “diamond merchants” with “the blood of innocent babies” on their hands. which he obviously intended for Jews.

Sharpton to this day is afforded the same platform as individuals of integrity. That platform includes regular appearances on Hannity & Colmes and on Bill O’Reilly’s show.

This is truly sickening.

Black authors Shelby Steele and Thomas Sowell of the Hoover Institute have written and discussed race at some length pointing out the degree of distortion taking place regarding racial matters in America.

In a recent column, Mr. Steele said: “we must acknowledge one of the most profound achievements in recent human history: the death of white supremacy. Here was an event far more world-altering than the collapse of communism, and yet, out of a truly extraordinary historical blindness, it has gone utterly unnoticed. Possibly it was an event too conspicuous to see.”

The flap over Imus’s comment would serve America much better if debated on top TV shows by individuals who have earned and deserve respect, not by the likes of Al Sharpton.

Choosing a Landscaping Designer

Hiring a landscaping designer is very important to make your dream garden a reality. In your search, you will find that each designer has their own methods, style and techniques in landscaping. Their experiences will vary greatly. It is up to you to select the most capable and suitable landscaping designer to fulfill your requirements. As much as you are excited to start with your landscaping project you need to choose your landscaping designer with care because their performance can either enhance or ruin the look of your home.

Where can you find a landscaping designer? You can start by asking your nearby relatives, friends or neighbors for a referral. You may also check the list of landscaping designers in your area through your local landscaping association.

After you have a made short list of prospective landscaping designers, your next step should be to meet them in person. Make sure to schedule the meetings separately. Invite the designer to your home so he or she can evaluate the area to be landscaped. Usually initial consultations are free but be sure to ask if there are any fees.

One of the most important things you need to ask is the type of garden that the designer specializes in, especially if you have a good idea of what type of garden you want. For instance, if you are looking to have an English garden, a landscaping designer who specializes in Japanese Zen gardens is obviously not a match.

Interviewing a landscaping designer gives you the chance not only to get the know the person’s style and approach to landscaping but also to find out if you two have the right chemistry. It is important that you are comfortable with your landscaping designer so you can freely express your own ideas and to make the project enjoyable. The ideal candidate would be someone who is willing to listen to your needs and wants, answer your questions, and give you honest opinion.

During your selection process, you need to find out about the education, training, and experience of the prospective landscaping designer. Make sure to request for references and ask if you could see a portfolio of previous projects. If possible, visit the places he recently worked on so you can see first hand the quality of the designer’s work.

Even if the first landscaping designer you meet seems to be perfect for your needs, meet with at least two more designers so you can compare their services and skills. You should choose a landscaping designer just like you would any other professional. It is important to ask questions and learn as much as you can about the background of the person to ensure a satisfying experience.

Choosing a Landscaping Design Company

Like most people, your home is probably the biggest investment you have made in your life. A great way to enhance this investment is to landscape your yard or garden. Again, if you are like most people, you may have only a small knowledge about the principles of landscaping so it may be a better idea to hire a landscaping design company rather than attempt to create a design yourself.

Whether it is your first time to landscape your garden or you are looking into changing the look of your existing garden landscape, hiring a landscaping design company is the easiest way to get the job done. Designing a garden or yard landscape can be an overwhelming task. Fortunately, there are many competent and reliable landscaping professionals that can handle the work for you and ensure you achieve the results you want.

A landscaping design company will work with you to create a landscape design tailored to your needs and preferences. However, it is also the responsibility of the designer to give you expert advice and ensure that you make the right choices from selecting plants and other materials to proper layout, lighting and other concerns.

A landscaping design company consists of landscape professionals such as designers and architects. A professional landscape designer may or may not have a landscaping degree or a license. On the other hand, a landscape architect should have both in order to practice landscaping. In the project has many “issues” such as slopes and high terrain, the services of a landscape architect may be necessary.

If you would also require landscape construction or installation services in addition to design, the landscaping design company will be able to refer to you to a landscape contractor. Alternatively, you can choose to work with a design-build company, which is a firm that employs both designers and contractors.

When choosing a landscaping design company, do not forget to request for references from past clients and ask to see their work portfolio. It would also be good if you can check the sites that they designed. Find out how long the company has been in the business, their professional affiliations and if they are insured and licensed.

It is recommended to evaluate a few companies before making a decision. Be sure to let the company know how much you are willing to spend. Your chosen landscaping design company should present to you a written service contract with detailed project specifications, costing, and schedule.

Jewelry Is The Gift Of Love

There are never enough ways to show your partner or significant other the love you have for them. The words “I love you” say an awful lot and there can be no substitute. Fine jewelry comes a close second.

Roses and chocolates are surpassed by the merest whiff of jewelry. Roses may be red and violets blue but, let’s face it – diamonds are forever.

A woman should be showered with praises and presents that would symbolize the love that the man has for her. And often. True love cannot be measured but it can be rewarded. Jewelry is the ideal way to show a woman that you love her.

Guys need not worry anymore. Though you may not be able to give expensive jewelry like diamonds, romantic yet affordable jewelry choices are now in stores and online. Special moments are still possible with these new soulful and inexpensive jewelry types. It just needs thought.

Saying “I love you” with jewelry can persuade a man to be more confident with the love they can give. Jewelry is showy – and giving it demands confidence. In this modern time, giving a ring represents the beautiful, extraordinary and treasured love you and your loved one promised to share. Jewelry doesn’t need to cost much and it need not to be a diamond or other precious gem. Even high royalties receives engagement rings in sapphire or ruby. Jewelry should, however, express the kind, considerate and caring significance of the love and positive emotion that a man has for a woman.

By buying a gift of jewelry you will be making someone special and you will have the knowledge that you have given a tangible symbol of love.

Japanese Garden Landscaping - More Than Just Flowers

When it comes to gardens, the Japanese are one of the finest designers. When one visits Japanese garden, he might see a big lotus pond with a delicate bridge that spans across it, a wide variety of plants, beautiful flowering trees and skillfully displayed rock formations. The view immediately gives the person a sense of calm. Truly, one cannot deny the fact that Japanese garden landscaping is awe aspiring.

Japanese garden landscaping is categorized into three types. The first and the most common is the Tsukiyama type, which means “constructed mountain” in English. A Tsukiyama inspired garden is basically a garden with contours and hills. It may also include a pond or stream with various plants and shrubs. A typical Japanese house or a temple may be erected on the grounds.

Another main feature of a Tsukiyama garden is that the entire place can be seen from strategically placed vantage points.

The different category of Japanese garden landscaping is called the Karensansui or dry landscape gardens. Gardens of this type are associated with people who practice Zen Buddhism.

What makes this garden apart from other gardens is that it has only minimal or no vegetation at all. Instead, the main elements of a Karensansui garden are carefully arranged rocks and sand. The rocks usually symbolize the Japanese islands. The sand, which is raked in circular patterns, symbolizes the sea. The rock gardens of the Ryoanji and the Daitokuji temples are perfect examples of Karensansui.

Unlike a Tsukimaya garden, a Karensansui garden is to be viewed from a single, seated perspective.

Lastly, the third category of Japanese garden landscaping is the Chaniwa. This type of garden dates back to the 14th century. This is not a garden in the real sense of the word. Instead, this type of Japanese garden landscaping is characterized by a beautiful, carefully planned path made out of stepping stones that lead to a tea room. This tea room is called Chaniwa, hence, the name of the garden. The Chaniwa also has stone water basins where the guests can wash themselves so they could partake of a tea ceremony.

Apparently, the designer of the Chaniwa type of garden wants to invoke to his guests a feeling of peace, solitude and enlightenment with this design. Therefore, the Chaniwa garden is a perfect place for meditation. Usually, Chaniwa gardens are not open to the public.

It is worthwhile to see these types of Japanese gardens. By doing so, one will truly feel at peace with himself while having a glimpse with the unique Japanese culture.

Interior Landscaping Plants - Bringing the Greenery Indoors

The idea of interior landscaping came into popularity over the past two decades. Today, many homes, office buildings, shopping malls and other commercial establishments are designed with specific areas meant for interior landscaping plants.

Obviously, a landscape designer must consider environmental factors when incorporating interior landscaping plants into the design. Some of the important considerations include sufficient light (artificial or natural), supply of water, drainage, and proper air circulation, among others.

Indeed, people expect that interior landscaping plants should be kept attractive and healthy at all times but one must remember that plants are not naturally grown inside houses or buildings so plants that do thrive in these areas have special needs that must be met in order for them to survive.

Fortunately, there have been many developments in interior landscaping that have improved the living conditions of interior landscaping plants. In addition, there has been a wide selection of plants that have evolved from their desert of tropical origins to become suitable interior landscaping plants.

Because light is a critical aspect in choosing plants for an indoor environment, the typical categories of interior landscaping plants are low light, light, medium light, high light, and very high light, which all refers to the plant’s light requirements in order to thrive indoors.

Below are some examples of common interior landscaping plants for your home or office.

Low light plants include the Parlor Palm and the shrub-like Neanthe Bella Palm, which you can grow in large pots and would need constant watering. Low light plants are ideal for indoor areas where there is minimal or no natural light and where a fluorescent light is the primary light source.

An excellent medium light plant is the durable and attractive Laurel Fig and the unique Madagascar Dragon Tree, which is great as an accent in your design. These interior landscaping plants will survive despite poor gardening habits such as forgetting to water the plants.

Examples of high light plants, which have a light requirement of a minimum of 500 foot candles, include the Elephant Foot Tree, Clustered Fishtail Palm, Miniature Date Palm and the European Fan Palm. Very high light plants such as the Queen Palm and the Lady Palm require a minimum lighting of 1000 foot candles.

While most interior landscaping plants can withstand the special conditions of an interior environment, proper caring for them is still essential because they are still vulnerable to insect and pest problems. You should also take care in giving the plant just the right amount of fertilizer because too much will kill the plant. You can easily manage the size of the plant using the appropriate container size. If you purchased the interior landscaping plants from a greenhouse, you can expect it to undergo an acclimation period. It may loose some leaves but will eventually adapt to its new environment.
