Smoking Leads To Blindness

The fact is that scientists have offered more and more chilling properties of nicotine.

More recently, British scientists have established undeniable link between smoking and irreparable loss of one of the most important feelings, accessible man-view.

Now appalled disappointing results of their own research experts require that the opening scene was in the form of a categorical warning on the package. It seems that the world of science no ideal cigarette pack (unless it is possible) as a kind of annotations drug lots consisting of the transfer of side effects.

It turns out that 27% of Britons having major problems with his eyes, a long black hostages respects. Scientists examined 5,000 people and found that many eye diseases, including the worst-blindness, which are directly related to the number of cigarettes consumed.

The threatened direct followers smoking, as well as their passive victims. The smokers tend entertainment establishments like nightclubs and discos impervious smokescreen is an inherent part of being, also, in time, may lose view.

Concerned British doctors warn: the link between smoking and blindness is as strong as between smoking and lung disease. Changing Careers - 7 Myths About Why Women Fear Making Changes in Their Careers

Women tend to feel guilty if they decide they would like to leave or change jobs. This may happen when they reach a certain age, usually around the time their youngest child moves out of the house or if they find themselves divorced or widowed. These women are usually mid-way through their lives and they make excuses as to why they should not or cannot start a new career at this time in their life. There are seven myths about this phenomenon and there are good reasons why women can choose to make any changes they want to in their present situations.

  1. I am too old to change careers. That is simply not true. Men and women today generally have several careers throughout their working lives. There is no reason to let you age deter you from following your dreams.
  2. I will lose my health insurance. Ask your employer about this long before you plan to leave your job. Most companies fall under the Consolidated Omnibus Reconciliation Act (COBRA), passed by Congress in 1986. It allows you to continue your health insurance by paying the premiums, which are generally much lower than private health insurance. The COBRA plan is mainly for private employers with more than 20 employees. Again, check with your employer and human resource department to get the details of your particular situation.
  3. I don’t want to go back to school. Who said anything about school? Many times you will find that you already have skills and abilities which are in high demand by other business, or you may plan to freelance or start your own small business from home. Investigate the possibilities before you leave you current position.
  4. I will have to change my present lifestyle. Plan on having enough savings to cover up to one year of living expenses, plus some extra resources if you are planning on starting a new business. Other than that, you should not have to live any differently than you are now. When you begin to live the life you enjoy things will fall into place for you.
  5. I don’t know what kind of job or business I would like to have. That is the biggest hurdle to overcome when you begin to make changes in your life. Ask yourself what you would love doing if money was not involved. How do you want to spend each day? What activities to do you want to be engaged in. After some serious thought you will find the answers you are searching for.
  6. My family is depending on me and expects me to continue with the work I am now doing. It is ideal when your family members and close friends are supportive of your decision to make changes in your life, but it does not always happen that way. Explain to them that you want to make some changes that will be good for you at this time in your life. Tell them that anything you do will always be done with love and with their best interests taken into consideration. Ask them to trust you and support during this time.
  7. I am afraid of failing at something new. This is the main reason all people, both men and women, stay in their current situations. We all have a basic fear of failing and not being able to go back to what we were doing previously. Face the fear and run right through it to your new life. You can accomplish anything you set your intentions on. Look at your options, see how you feel, and move ahead. You will be glad you did.

We must all make our own choices and decisions about our lives. No one else walks in your shoes. Evaluate your situation and check in with your feelings. Don’t let fear keep you from moving toward a life that will ultimately bring you more joy and happiness.

Kenya Vacation Lake Hotels - Lake Bogoria Vacation Rentals

Sleeping and Eating

Camping is the only sleeping option with the reserve. If you would prefer a roof, there is a top end hotel nearby and various dives near the Loboi gate.

Fig Tree Camp (Camping Kshs 500)

Nestled beneath a stand of massive Fig trees is this fantastic site. Sure the loos lack doors and baboons can be a nuisance but there are brilliant views down the lake and a permanent fresh water stream. The 2 km drive (4WD only) or hike from the main pack is worth the trip alone.

Acacia Camp (Camping Kshs 500)

A pretty lakeside site shaded by Acacias, with some soft grass on which your tent can rest. You will have to bring your own water. Acacia and Fig tree blow the socks off the dismal hot springs and VIP campsites.

Papyrus Inn (stw with shared toilet Ksh 500 800)

This overpriced place is in a bit of a sad state, really with crumbling walls and filth pervading the rooms. Its proximity to the lobby gate is probably its only redeeming feature.

Lake Bogoria Hotel

(sd include breakfast USD$ 7090). Set in lovely grounds around 2 km before Loboi gate, this hotel is a quality option with two swimming pools, one of them spring-fed. The rooms in the hotel are large and bright, while those in the new cottages (which are the same price) are more modern and much more comfortable.( Lunch dinner buffets Kshs 600700, mains Kshs 100350) serve a variety of dishes, several with vegetarian options.

The town of Marigat located nearby is a local good place to buy produce or to have local meals:
Kamco- Hotel (off B4 Hwy: meals Kshs 40-150)
Union Hotel (off B4 Hwy: meals Kshs 40-150)

Getting to Lake Bogoria and around

There are three entrance gates to Lake Bogoria - Emsos in the south, Maji Moto in the west and Loboi in the North. The turn off of for Emsos and Maji Moto gates is at Mogotio, which is about 38km past Nakuru on the B4 highway, but both of these are poorly sign posted and inaccessible without a serious 4WD.

Loboi gate is a far more straight forward point of entry, reached by taking a turn off shortly before Marigat. It’s 20 km from here to the actual gate along a good sealed road. The sealed road continues to the hot springs, but is horrendous shape in this section.

The nearest petrol station is found in Marigat. Without your own vehicle Loboi gate can be accessed by Matatus from Marigat (50 Kshs, 30 minutes). Regular Matatus serve Marigat from Nakuru (Kshs 80, 2 hours) and Kabarnet (Kshs 140, 1 14 hours).

Location of Bogoria Lake is right in a hot and semi arid environment so the lake provides the much needed cool environment. Look out for soft grounds on the lake shores that you can easily slip into and get yourself scalded by the bellowing steam.

The hills overlooking the lake offer a breathtaking view seemingly hiding the lake from the elements. There is also the occasional antelope on the fringes of the lake but the general attraction here is the lake and its steam bellowing shores and flamingos.

Top Kenya Rift Valley Lakes - Lake Bogoria National Park-Kenya Lakes

North of Marigat Kenya

The journey north from Nakuru along the excellent B4 Hwy takes you through some dramatic changes of scenery, particularly around the equator, where the landscape turns dry and dusty, getting more forbidding the further north you go. Suddenly, out of the sea of reds, browns and meek greens, the blues of Lake Baringo appear in the distance.

Soon you’ll start to descend and, as the roadside to the east drops away, you will see glimpses for the red plains and distant hills. At the bottom seats Radat, a tiny village known to produce Kenya’s best asali( honey). They sell it from roadside kiosk by the vodka bottle (Ksh 100). If you blink and Miss Radat, do not worries because you will find sweet asali for sale throughout the region.

As you approach Marigat the spectacular ridges and escarpments of Tugen hills come into view, and you will see an extraordinary number of huge termites’ nests towering up for the reddish plains.

Lake Bogoria National Reserve

In the later 1990s this reserves soda lake achieved fame as the new home of Lake Baringo with a migrant population of up to 2 million birds. In 2000 it was designated a Ramsar site, establishing it as a wetland of international importance. While lesser flamingo numbers have since dropped significantly, now that Lake Nakuru has recovered from earlier droughts, this reserve (telephone 0722 377 252; P.O.Box 64,Marigat, Adult Child Kshs 1500200) is still a fascinating place and a world away from any other Rift Valley Lake.

Backed by the bleak Siracho escarpment, Moss-green waves roll down Lake Bogorias rocky, barren shows, while nearby hot springs and geysers spew boiling fluids from the earth’s inside- keep your distance! Amazingly, this inhospitable alien environment is a haven for bird life and at Kesubo swamp just north of the pack, more than 200 species have been recorded. One lucky soul spotted 96 species in one hour- a Kenyan record.

The lack of dense brush around Lake Bogoria also makes this one of the best places in Kenya to see the greater kudu. The more isolated wooded area at lake southern end is also home of leopards, klipspringers, gazelles, caracals and buffaloes. Oh, and you will see your fair share of donkeys and cattle too.

Mau Forest Evictions

In July 2005, Mwai Kibaki’s Kenyan government forcefully evicted between 10000-50000 locals from their homes in Mau forest which seats west of Nakuru and south of Molo. Citing Kenya’s dismal forests cover (a mere 1.7%), the government claimed the evictions were necessary to protect what is left of Kenya’s fragile forest environment. The present government also believes that much of the land was illegally allocated by Moi’s government during the run-up to the 2002 elections. Like Moi, most displaced families are sub-clans of the Kalenjin tribe.

The force used during the removals and the lack of options given to the evictees have sparked outrage with critics likening the situation to that of Zimbabwe. With future eviction scheduled for the forest around Mt. Kenya and Mt. Elgon, the political firestorm will only continue to heat up in the coming years.

While the odd Kenyan tourist visits the springs, few people venture further south, meaning you may well have the place to yourself. You now have the bonus of being able to explore on foot or bicycle, though stay clear of the small buffalo population. If you would like a guide (half full day Kshs 5001000), enquire at Loboi gate.

How Do You Go About Getting Cash for Note Payments in One Lump Sum of Money?

These days you can get cash for note payments rather than have to wait to receive smaller monthly checks. This is quite advantageous for those who need a large sum of money in the short term for an investment, a purchase or to pay off debts.

Rather than having to go through the hassle of applying for a loan with a bank, getting your credit checked and waiting for approval, a professional buyer can pay you cash for notes of any kind. They could be real estate instruments, structured settlements, business notes or any other cash flow contract. Any debt paper that you currently hold can be turned into a lump sum of money.

Although the concept of receiving a steady payment every month sounds appealing, there comes a time in many people’s lives where they are in need of a larger amount of money. They could come upon a very appealing investment opportunity; they might want to buy a new car; perhaps they are reaching retirement age. Whatever the case may be, getting cash for note payments can be a windfall for them. It is an easy, quick way to get money in hand for whatever you might need it for…you can usually complete a transaction in less than two weeks.

When you receive cash for notes, how much can you expect to receive?

The amount of money you get for your debt paper will depend on a number of factors, and they will be different from one instrument to another. Professional buyers have a formula that they use which takes into account the balance, the interest rate, the time remaining, the stability of the payor and various other criteria.

Obviously, the stronger and less risky the debt is, the more cash for note payments you can expect to receive. Keep in mind that you can also sell just a portion of the note, and keep some of the monthly receivables intact. There are a variety of ways you can structure the deal and the note buyer will go over all of them with you. Consider all of them before you make your decision.

While you go through the process, try to get all of your paperwork in order. It also helps to keep careful notes of everything that has transpired since the day the note was written.

Getting cash for notes is easy; you just have to find an experienced, professional note buyer who can offer you top dollar.

Church Growth Specialist - Targeted Transformation

Church growth is an interesting topic because there are two ways one can evaluate growth. Growth can be quantified by numbers in how many people attend the church services. Alternatively, growth can be measured by spiritual growth and godly character evident in a believer’s life. Thus church growth is measurable inwardly and outwardly.

My travels to over 50 countries and 6 continents, working across denominational lines in an interdenominational capacity, have shown me that passion is paramount and crucial. Again something that cannot be taught, but that must be caught. Passion and love cannot be adequately explained, they must be experienced. The experience is unforgettable and very impressionable.

A divine experience precedes exponential growth. Such a divine experience can occur either directly with the Creator Himself, or indirectly with His people who are deeply connected to heaven. The drawing power of the Holy Spirit flows both ways and produces remarkably in and through whosoever will.

The world needs an experience with their Creator and with people who know Him intimately in divine relationship.

Beyond the foundation of congregational passion, you can become increasingly relevant in society by embracing targeted transformation.

Target crucial areas where change and transformation can occur to bring your church to a greater place of societal relevance. Here are some key areas to assess, evaluate, and endeavor to improve:

1. Praise & Worship

It is a known statistical fact that praise & worship is the first thing that attracts people to a church. This goes back to passion. Passion is what propels us forward in pursuit of God. If there be no passion, there shall be no divine pull upon people to participate in spirituality.

2. Children’s Ministry

Parents are concerned for the children’s well-being and discipline. Society has gone crazy with the advent of the media and marketing of pop culture. Kids are increasingly dealing with peer-pressure at school to misbehave and rebel. Parents are looking for the church to play a role in providing positive guidance and trustworthy friendships.

3. Building a Spiritual Family

People don’t just want to attend a church service, they want to be a part of a loving and lively community. Incorporate times for meaningful congregational interaction so people can truly get to know one another, pray together, and play together.

4. Listen to and Lift People

People come to church with many problems. Beyond the Sunday sermon, they need specific answers for the struggles they face. Be available to listen to your people and provide practical solutions. Be a shoulder to lean on, while providing a sympathetic ear. Most importantly, walk with your people through life’s valleys en route to their next mountain top experience. Be their cheerleader and life purpose coach.

5. Love People Unconditionally

People come to church looking for love. We all deeply yearn to be hugged and embraced. Broken within and burdened by life’s circumstances beyond our control, we yearn to affirmed and encouraged. When we act and speak inappropriately, the church should be a pillar of unconditional love and support to love the unlovely.

People make changes in an atmosphere of love and unconditional acceptance. The church is the voice to the conscience of society. We are the light of the world. Therefore shine brightly and brilliantly illuminate the world.

Sensitive People - 9 Things to Remember When Others Tell You That You are Being Too Sensitive

9 Things to Remember When Your Feelings Get Hurt

If you were a sensitive child chances are you are now a sensitive adult. Everyday events may affect you differently than someone who is less sensitive. Other people do not understand this many times and will tell you that you are just being “too sensitive”. How we feel each day can have a powerful effect on our self-esteem. Maybe they are just being “too insensitive”. To effectively cope in our world you must remember these things:

  • Remember that what people say to you or about you is really about them and has nothing to do with you
  • If someone says something to you that hurts your feelings tell them that you did not like how they spoke to you
  • See if sometimes you are misunderstanding what someone else says to you
  • Realize that many people talk just to have something to do and don’t even know they are being insensitive
  • Stay away from people who have been hurtful to you in the past
  • Spend time building you your self-esteem
  • Focus on your own interests and beliefs and do not become involved with other people’s opinions
  • Celebrate the fact that you are sensitive. You are most likely also a very creative person.
  • Look for other people who are also sensitive and form friendships and alliances with them. They will understand how you feel and be better friends to you in the long run

Many people will tell you that you are being too thin-skinned and should just let insensitive comments roll off you “like water off a duck’s back”. But only you know how you feel and you will feel better if you acknowledge your emotions and feelings. We all have an emotional guidance system that lets us know at every moment how we are feeling. Look for situations where you feel good and avoid those that make you feel bad. You are a special, unique being that deserves to feel joy and happiness as much of the time as you possibly can.

So What Is The Problem?

It is amazing to me that we are still pitting the biblical account of creation against the Theory of Evolution. Especially when a careful read of chapters one and two of the King James Version of Genesis indicates the writer was talking about two different types of creation; a “spiritual” creation and a “physical” creation. The Old Testament writer describes a “spiritual” creation in six days, and then a “physical” creation without any reference to how long it took to complete that creation.

Let me explain; and please, get your bible out and follow along if you are a believer in scriptures. In Genesis 1:11 through 26, it is written that God created plants on the third day, stars on the fourth day, water animals and birds on the fifth day, and land animals, man and woman on the sixth day. But in Genesis 2: 4 through 5, after the account of the six day creation, the following is written: “These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, and every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.” (emphasis mine)

In other words, the writer is clearly stating that plants, herbs, and man were created in some state of being before they were “in the earth” and before they “grew”. This suggests to me that the six day creation is a “spiritual” or “conceptual” creation, and not a “physical” creation.

After the description of a six day creation, the King James Version of the bible goes on to state in Genesis 2: 6 through 7: “But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” In this second version of the creation there is no mention of how long the creation process took to bring forth life. It could have taken millions upon millions of years, and it probably did. So there is no need to for an argument between people who support Creationist thought and those who support the Theory of Evolution. There is plenty of room for both ideas.

River Fishing – Rainbow Trout

One of my favorite things to do in this world is river fishing for rainbow trout. Standing in the flowing water of a river or stream, attempting to catch a large rainbow, is one of my favorite activities. There are many aspects of river fishing for rainbows that appeals to me, but the biggest has to be the challenge of trying to catch large rainbows (over 20 inches) on ultra light gear (4lb test monofilament). My mentor used to catch monster Rainbows in central Pennsylvania, and I’ve been hooked ever since he taught me his techniques twenty+ years ago.

There’s also something about seeing that “flash” of red while fighting a large rainbow, that I think I’m addicted to. It’s quite a feeling, which for some reason isn’t ever matched by any other fish. River fishing for rainbow trout has to be one of the most enjoyable types of fishing.

The most effective way to catch a rainbow trout while wade fishing is to use live worms. Rainbows find worms difficult to resist in most situations. I know “flea flickers” scoff at the idea of using worms as bait, but the techniques that my mentor taught me more than twenty years ago are every bit as technical and artistic as anything a “flea flicker” does. So what are these techniques to catch rainbows in rivers?

The biggest thing to learn is to present your offering in the most natural way possible. Fly fishermen know all about presenting their offering in a natural manner, and so did my mentor. He used gang hooks. Gang hooks enable the angler to present a worm in a completely natural manner. A live worm rigged on a set of gang hooks doesn’t look any different that a live worm with no hooks in it at all! This is an incredible advantage when fishing for a fish that is as intelligent as a large trout. So, when fishing for rainbow trout in rivers, gang hooks are a must.

The technique is simply to bounce that worm off of the bottom as it flows through the current. You don’t use your reel or anything. You simply cast out, and let the worm drift with the current, naturally. Just as the worm would had you just thrown it into the current. It’s an incredibly simple, yet effective technique. When river fishing for Rainbow Trout, this is a great technique. You may be wondering what gang hooks are? They are simply two small hooks tied in tandem. They are fairly easy to learn how to tie yourself or you can buy them ready to go from somewhere like JRWfishing, the choice is yours. The bottom line is that River Fishing - Rainbow Trout - & Gang Hooks all go together like the pieces of a fishing puzzle.

River fishing for rainbow trout can be done in many parts of the United States. The only places that Rainbow Trout won’t be found are those areas of the country that are incredibly hot. As a rule, trout prefer clean clear water, such as that flowing out of various rivers in the northern parts of North America.
