Personal Harmony - How Do I Know if I am Living in Harmony or Not?

How do I know if I am living in harmony or not?

For a business executive, life may be harmonious if the cash is flowing, clients are happy and the future is rosy. Ask a devout Buddhist and of course they will define harmony as peace and non violent action. Ask a fundamentalist terrorist and the answer will be different, they may even define harmony as the elimination of a whole race of humanity.

So it is with some trepidation that we, in this work, declare some sort of universal definition of Personal Harmony. But we do so regardless.

Personal Harmony is a journey. On such a journey every human squanders most of their life. Eating the fruit of forbidden trees hoping to circumvent the troubles and strife life brings. Personal Harmony is the hidden quest of all humanity. Defined as “the calling of the Soul” Personal Harmony becomes the indiscrete motive for existence, peace of mind, happiness.

The one who finds Personal Harmony does not do so, as most think, by quenching their thirst. Nothing of the sense ever satisfied the Soul. So the appetite that drives our external life actually comes from within. Such an appetite will never be satiated and this realization drives us on an inner search for Personal Harmony. And it’s illusive.

The inner world gains it’s harmony by attunement. The laws for this inner attunement are written for us long before scribes attempted to give credit for wisdom. The nature of all existence has stamped upon it the keynotes of the harmony of life. Nature holds the key and she is there, everywhere, waiting for you to discover her. Although the laws of nature may gratify the intellect, it is really their ability to free your mind to see order and beauty that can bring harmony to the heart. When our expectations and thinking match rhythm with natural law, we begin to work with Nature rather than against it.

Summary

1. We must separate the inner World from the outer

2. The inner world cannot be satisfied by dogma, philosophy or materiality

3. The outer world seeks things in the pursuit of growth

4. Personal Harmony cannot come while the seeker seeks.

5. Until beauty can be felt it is not harmonious

6. Beauty exists in all things, events and people.

7. Peace of mind, health of the body are the external testaments to the levels of internal harmony.

8. Disharmony is the breakdown between human thought and natural law. The fight can never be won

9. Internal Harmony is possible only in so much as it becomes a process not a destination.

10. Contentment is a first step. Learning that there is nothing about you to change, or that can be changed.

11. To hone the personality of the heart is the real key to personal harmony

Ann Coulter, The Educated Idiot!

I have been watching this “somewhat of a lady” for quite some time. I have determined it’s time to give my opinion. For someone whom is somewhat educated, she’s not very smart. All I have witnessed from Ms. Coulter is ranting and raving aimlessly and most of the time unintelligently. She is a television personality who is playing to her fan base. I don’t even believe Ms. Coulter believes half of what she says within her own mind, she is much more interested in ratings and of course her book.

To all of her followers out there, this is how professional your “leader” is. She was fired by the “National Review” magazine after stating that 9/11 justified the killing of Arab civilians. This woman is constantly caught in trying to throw off facts that are simply not true. She once stated on television that Canada sent troops to Vietnam. When she was informed she was wrong, her intelligent reply was “I’ll have to get back to you on that”. Guess what? She never got back to anyone on the unintelligent remark she had made while being a guest on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporations Fifth Estate News Investigative Show.

I have heard people voice, “She says what most people do not have the balls to say”, my reply to this remark is as follows, most people do not say what Ms. Coulter says because she lies and where Ms. Coulter does not mind looking absolutely idiotic in stating unfounded facts, most educated people do mind. To all the people out there that follow this woman as if she is the next anti-christ, She’s laughing at you. Ms. Coulter knows she has a fan base. She knows she has followers. I say those of you whom believe what this woman says should first educate yourself on what’s going on within our world, only then will you realize how out of touch with reality Ms. Coulter is.

Ms. Coulter claims that the liberals main agenda is abortion issues, such as protecting the right to chose over pro life. She states that liberals are so caught up on the abortion issues of our country that we are hypocritical for supporting a war in Iraq whereas mass casualties have accumulated. I would like to inform Ms. Coulter that the liberals is not why abortion is legal within our country. Abortion is legal due to the Roe vs. Wade decision. So when you speak of abortion issues Ms. Coulter, thank your conservative counterparts, they played a role in Roe vs. Wade becoming a trademark decision within our law history alongside the liberals. One can not compare abortion to a war. Is it not so blatantly obvious this woman knows nothing of military issues? Do remember, she still thinks Canada sent troops to Vietnam.

I would not be looking to this woman for educated inspiration. If you do, you are just as big of an idiot as she is. Ms. Coulter needs to be put in her place. I would like to see women stand up and voice how bad Ms. Coulter makes all women look, not just conservatives but our gender as a whole. I for one will NOT be one of her followers. She can take her book which contains alot of hogwash and unfounded facts and enjoy the royalties while they last, for the day will come when Ms. Coulter will be realized for what she truly is, an “educated idiot.”

Top 4 Extreme Vacations

Sometimes just standing on the beach or going for a nice quiet walk in the mountains is not enough; if your job has you sitting behind a desk 8 or more hours a day on vacation you might want to be doing something else than standing around, no matter how beautiful the surroundings are.

Some people are naturally adventurous, but in case you aren’t maybe an extreme vacation will be the experience of a life time! Let’s see how you can spice up your life the next time you go on vacation:

1. Shark diving - I don’t know about you, but shark diving is as extreme as you could get! Yes, you are in a cage (sometimes, if you prefer) and yes, you get detailed instructions on what to do and what not to do. But let’s face it, it wouldn’t be extreme if those sharks could be controlled and that danger is what is exciting.

And how much are you going to pay to risk life and limb? Well, dig around for a few details and you will probably see packages for around $2500 per person.

2. Cross country bicycle touring - although it may not be as risky as shark diving, cross country touring is not exactly a piece of cake! There are 2 ways to do this: on your own or with a touring company; I recommend the last option.

The touring company will take care of all the details: bikes, overnight accommodation (I suggest avoiding camping), mechanics in the bike team, support staff that takes care of snacks and possible injured team mates and luggage transportation from hotel to hotel.

All you have to do is ride that bike which may sound easy, but when you find out that you’ll be riding 70 or 80 miles per day (or even more) you realize why cross country qualifies as an extreme vacation.

Cross country tours are mostly based in Europe and the United States and the cost starts at around $1500 per person but can go up a lot more depending on the length of the trip and the type of bike you choose.

3. US Special Forces training - if you have always dreamed of being part of a Special Forces team but don’t exactly want to be on the first line of combat this is the vacation for you!

Special Forces veterans and local guides will take you through a series of tests and challenges alternating with classes on wilderness survival.

Of course, at request, there are other options that are available to you such as horse riding, mountain biking, whitewater kayaking, wind surfing and rappelling techniques.

The price to be transformed into a “weekend warrior” starts at around $350 per day and depends on the location and trip options you select.

4. Cosmonaut for a day - what kid didn’t wish to be an astronaut? Now you have the chance to experience most of an astronauts life at Star City military facility near Moscow, Russia. This is one of the most exclusive things you can ever do, considering that when the Russian Space Program most Russians didn’t even know that this facility existed.

Unfortunately you won’t get to ride a spaceship to the International Space Station (ISS), but you will get to explore MIR and ISS simulators, learn to navigate by the stars in the navigational simulator and view the Hydrolab from a special observation deck.

There is also a choice between training in the manual docking simulator, training in Sokol-KV (for inflight operations) or Orlan-DMA (for space walks) Space Suits.

These are 4 of the most special and exclusive vacations you could take in your life, and the memories will stay with you forever. What are you waiting for?

Eldercare - Caregiving, Nursing Home, Medicaid, Living Wills Information and More

Elderly care is an event that most children do not wish to think about. No one wants to think about his or her parent growing old. We look to our parents for guidance and support, but there comes a time when the parenting roles reverse.

It is important to discuss future events with your loved ones and develop a long-term plan for their care for when they become unable to care for themselves. Developing an Eldercare checklist is a proactive way to ensure your loved ones whether parents or grandparents receive the level of care they need and services they want, or, in the case of artificial nutrition, they may not want.

There are several key points and strategies you will want to include on your Eldercare checklist:

1. What level of eldercare is needed, and where will this care be given?

2. How will you pay for the eldercare? The medical costs of eldercare.

3. What will be done with your parents’ or grandparents’ assets while they are receiving eldercare?

4. Are all legal documents including the Will and Living Will current? Have your parents’ or grandparents’ Wills and Living Wills been reviewed recently by an Attorney? What is an Advanced Financial Directive? What is an Advanced Medical Directive in eldercare estate planning?

5. Have your parents or grandparents designated a Durable Power of Attorney?

Making sure you have answers to these questions for your parents or grandparents eldercare early on will avoid confusion and distress later. Don’t wait until there is a tragedy to make plans that will affect how your loved one spends the rest of their life. For the purposes of this article we will assume “loved one” to mean a parent or grandparent.

Where will eldercare be given, and by whom?

1. CAREGIVING AND ELDERCARE

INFORMAL CAREGIVER

There are two types of caregivers: informal and formal. An informal caregiver might be a spouse or child, and these caregivers do not receive direct payment for their services. Usually payment is made through services exchanged such as food or housing at no charge while caring for your parent.

FORMAL CAREGIVER

A formal caregiver is usually employed by an agency to provide quality care in the comfort of your home. If the formal caregiver is not associated with an agency, it is important to conduct a thorough check of references to ensure you are hiring a quality professional.

It is important to inform all formal caregivers of the responsibilities associated with your parent’s needs. If your parent needs assistance in and out of a wheelchair, a hired caregiver should be able to perform this task without harm to your parent or to him/herself. To avoid injury to all persons involved, informal and formal caregivers should receive training on proper techniques for lifting and moving, proper use of bedpans, and how to maintain good hygiene for a parent confined to bed.

LOCATION OF ELDERCARE FOR YOUR PARENTS

There are many options for the location of care provided. Most people would agree that living our their remaining years in the comfort of home is more appealing than living in a state facility. If your parent wishes to receive care in their home you can make home modifications, such as a wheelchair ramp or seat in the shower, to accommodate their changing needs. You can also hire a formal caregiver to come and assist your parent with daily activities such as bathing, eating, taking medications, or regular exercise.

CONSIDERATIONS OF ASSISTED LIVING HOUSES OR NURSING HOMES

If it is not possible for your parent to remain at home, you can choose to place them in assisted living houses or a nursing home. Before placing your loved one in a facility, you should thoroughly check both the location and the staff. Make yourself familiar with required paperwork ahead of time to prevent delays when it comes time to move in, and, if possible, make several unannounced visits to oversee daily activities.

You should check if the facility is regulated by the state, and request to see any licenses they have for providing eldercare. Find out how the staff is trained and if they are required to have certification to work there. You should consider the cost of the facility and the living accommodations your parent will be provided.

Additional considerations when choosing a facility might be types of activities offered to residents and the quality and type of food provided. While no place will be perfect, you should choose a facility that makes your parent feel as comfortable as possible away from home.

2. MEDICAL COSTS OF ELDERCARE AND MEDICAID

Not many insurance companies are willing to pay for long-term care. It is important to check the details of your parent’s policy and read the fine print for restrictions. For example, Medicare will not pay for long-term care but it will pay a very short-term benefit. However, Medicaid will pay for long-term care but only if your parent receives care in a Medicaid facility.

If you plan far enough ahead, you can begin setting aside money so you can afford to provide long-term care to your parent at home. You should consult a financial advisor or estate planner to go over your parent’s bank statements and assets to determine how long their current funds will be able to provide medical care, and based on this assessment you can establish a savings plan to make up the difference needed for long-term eldercare. When figuring in additional savings you need, keep in mind that you will also need to continue paying any current bills your parent might have.

3. WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR PARENTS’ ASSETS DURING ELDERCARE

Before you rush off and put your parent’s house on the market, make sure you have discussed where they want to receive their long-term care. It would be quite devastating for your parent to come home from a hospital stay to discover you had sold the house and moved their belongings into a nursing home.

You should also ask your estate planner or financial advisor which of your parent’s accounts you should withdraw money from to help offset costs. Some accounts, such as annuities, carry penalties for early withdrawal and may require you to pay taxes on income earned through these accounts. Also, once you begin withdrawing money from an annuity you cannot stop payments.

LEGAL ISSUES OF ELDERCARE

Hopefully, your parent has written a will and made you aware of its location. A Will should be reassessed by an Attorney every few years to make sure all the people listed as beneficiaries are still alive, and that your parent still wants them to receive a portion of their estate.

Moreover, your parents should have an irrevocable trust as part of their estate planning eldercare needs which will avoid the high expenses of probate, reduce estate taxes and possibly eliminate some earned income and your parents will gain the benefits of asset protection. Speak with a qualified and good estate planner such as Estate Street Partners who can guide you through this complex process.

4. IMPORTANCE OF LIVING WILL, ADVANCED FINANCIAL DIRECTIVE AND MEDICAL DIRECTIVE IN ELDERCARE ESTATE PLANNING

You should also council your parents on drafting a Living Will in the event they are unable to speak for themselves. Learn more about Living Wills and Advanced Financial Directives and Advanced Medical Directives by going to our website. The Advanced Financial Directives and Advanced Medical Directives are extremely important in eldercare estate planning when your parents cannot speak for themselves and will protect their financial and medical wishes.

5. DURABLE POWER OF ATTORNEY (DPOA) AND ELDERCARE ESTATE PLANNING

You should know ahead of time where these documents are before an emergency arises to ensure that your parent’s wishes are followed. Having a DPOA allows someone your parents trust to act on their behalf and make legal and financial decisions for them, including the transfer of valuable assets, if they become incapacitated.

Alternative Asthma Treatment

If you are an asthma sufferer and particularly if you are diagnosed with allergic asthma, it can seem at times that even the treatment or treatments you are receiving through conventional sources can sometimes seem somewhat experimental. You try one medicine and see how it works. Then you talk to your doctor about your malady and he might give you something els to elevate some other aspect of your symptoms, until you find what works and what doesn’t and in what combination they should be used and at what dosage.

Then there is the tests and diagnosis you go through to determine what you are actually allergic to and how it can be controlled or eliminated. It is important to understand that a doctor is trained in the medical process of elimination and fully understands the effects and side effects of the drugs he is screening you for during this process. So when the treatment that works best for you is finally determined and your schedule treatment is having positive effects, one might be led to believe that further trials might bring even more relief.

So you might start thinking about the natural or alternative medicines you might have heard about. What can be the problem? They are only herbs and natural herbs at that. You use herbs in cooking every day and you are just fine. Before you grab a handful of any medicine, herbal, or conventional, you should think twice before brewing it up in a cup of tea. herbal medicines can be very powerful and some can have toxic side effects. Some may have a negative reaction to the medicines you are taking now.

Opium is an herbal derivative and a spoon full of it can kill you. I make this point only to point up the potential for strength and potency in herbal medicines. Never ever discontinue your prescribed medicines you doctor has given you without having a serious talk with your doctor. There are herbal remedies for bad breath that can be purchased at your drug store and might actually work but not as good as a tooth brush and dental floss. No one has ever died as a result of bad breath though. No matter what you hear about any herbal treatments always consult your doctor and let him or her explain what exactly it is in the medicine you are thinking of consuming.

There are other complimentary or alternative medicine therapies that are out there. As long as you consult your doctor some are no risk at all. Acupuncture is one. The only risk here is having to walk around with sore spots on your body, as long as you continue your prescribed medicine. If you are going to experiment with food avoidance it is also important to let your doctor know what you are doing so if you begin to suffer from malnutrition he knows what the cause is. If you suffer from food allergies it is wise to have a medical professional supervise and document your food elimination program.

If you are a severe asthma patient you can at times feel desperate and might be willing to try anything at times. It can leave you alone and isolated and unable to do the things you like to do. Many asthma patients have found relief from group therapy. Being able to talk with others who have the same problems is always a help and has no risk of side effects other than possibly making some new friends. So never underestimate the power of positive thinking as a part of your treatment and before you ever consume any type of herbal concoction, talk to your doctor first.

How To Be Creative & Be Happy - Finding Creative Routines That Work

It may not feel like it sometimes, but deep within us we all know how to build a life of creativity and happiness.

We’ve seen and tasted enough in the past to know what works for us and what helps us be creative and happy, and what doesn’t work and we need to reduce or eliminate.

The difficulty sometimes is getting through the surface chaos and listening to our inner, knowledgeable selves.

Every one of us is unique in our creativity, so we each have a slightly different recipe for a creative happy life.

However there are some basic ingredients that we all need for our recipe.

Today we’re going to look in more depth at one of the most important.

Finding routines that work is essential for a life of creative and happiness.

So what do we mean by “routines that work”?

Many of us who are creative recoil in horror at the idea of set routines or patterns of working in our creative life.

There are many traditional romantic images of the artist being struck suddenly by inspiration and being compelled to create feverishly until their new work is complete, their idea fully realised.

But what happens then during the times we’re not creating?

Do we just hang around hopefully and wait for inspiration to magically appear?

Boredom is one of the lethal enemies of the creative mind. Just waiting around for something to happen is at best a bit of a drag, and at worst excruciatingly painful and frustrating.

It’s not a formula for a very happy or a very creative life.

So what’s the alternative?

The solution – the best way to lead a life that’s consistently creative and fulfilling – is to find routines and systems that work for us.

Creating a little each day is one of the crucial cornerstones.

Setting aside a time when we just go to our creative work space, or somewhere we’ll be undisturbed, and just creating, even if it’s just for 15 minutes each day is essential.

It’s the basis we can build everything else in our life of creativity and happiness upon.

Other parts of our routines we can alter and adjust are:

When we work – experimenting and finding the times of day we’re most creative.

Our creative environment – the surroundings most conducive to us creating easily and freely.

Reviewing and editing – the systems we use to review what we’ve created and make any necessary changes.

There are many other parts of our creative lives where having a system in place – a system unique to us that we’ve tried and tested – can help us be as creative as possible.

How can we find routines that work?

Be willing to test and experiment. Read and absorb as much as you can from other creative people and creativity experts, try their methods and systems and take the parts that work for you.

Over time, tweak, fine tune and evolve your creative routines so they continue to allow your creativity to flourish as freely as possible.

What are you going to do TODAY to start to find routines that work?

Start right now, look at the routines you currently have that work and the ones that aren’t working that you can drop.

Research and gather new routines and systems and start to find your unique and most effective ways of working.

By finding the creative routines that work for you, you’ll be giving yourself one of the essential ingredients for a creative and happy life.

Want To Become A Super Affiliate?

To become an affiliate and earn hundreds of dollars a month maybe even in a day is hard work. What about making thousands of dollars a day? That’s exactly what a SUPER AFFILIATE does… they make a lot of cash. Rosalind Gardner is probably the best-known super affiliate on the internet, and with good reason. She entered the game with no business experience and quickly turned her life around, making over $400,000 a year near the beginning of her career and much more than that now.

Her manual has been a best seller on Clickbank for ages. Ros Gardner really did her best to tell how she carry’s out her day to day business, and she makes gobs of money. Be aware though that her way is just one of many approaches that one can take to become prosperous in Internet marketing. If there is one book on affiliate marketing you must have, then it’s this one. 283 pages of hard hitting advice, no fluff. If you were looking for the holy grail then this is it. I cannot recommend this enough.

So many internet marketers produce books that tell you just enough to get you into a never ending spiral of buying another product to solve another problem, that you never emerge. Alice in wonderland would get tired. This book is the exact opposite. It’s simple without being simplistic, it’s concise and to the point. You have no excuse not to do well if you follow the instructions, it’s all laid out in exquisite detail.

This is an “internet marketing classic”. If you are looking to make money as an affiliate, and you haven’t read this ebook, then you are missing a critical part of your education. The book is written to the beginner/intermediate affiliate marketer and is easy to understand and apply. It is one of the best resources on the subject and I truly consider it one of the few “must have” ebooks in my whole ebook library.

If you’re looking for an easy program you can set up in minutes and never work on again, the Super Affiliate Handbook is not for you. But if you’re interested in building a full-time income the right way, and putting in some work to make it pay off residually over and over, then you can’t go wrong with this e-book. Every other super affiliate I’ve ever interviewed recommends Rosalind’s book, and if it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for you.

How To Buy a Keyboard (Part 3)

In this article, I will discuss what keyboard features that are not essential but can ease the learning process and operation of your keyboard.

The first feature you might find useful is the use of memory buttons. These normally range from four memory buttons to eight buttons, in your price range. The memory button remembers the complete set up of the keyboard, which might include the sound you are using plus the rhythm and speed and volumes of each part. This is especially useful if you have spent hours setting up your keyboard and you want to save your settings. There’s nothing worse than trying to find that perfect setting again, when you could have saved it. Also some keyboards will have a floppy drive which can save the entire settings of the keyboard including memory buttons just in case there is a power cut or your memory buttons get wiped, again not essential, but useful.

The next feature is reverb. This setting on a keyboard can dramatically transform the sound of any instrument sound on your keyboard. An example of natural reverb can be found in a church or a large hall or an underground cavern. If you have visited any of these places then you know the sound created is echo like. Of course, it is very difficult to describe the sound difference when adding reverb but again this is another advantage to visiting a music shop where you can actually listen to the keyboard sounds. The difference between reverb and no reverb is quite dramatic. If you haven’t heard the difference it is unlikely you will miss it but be warned once you have heard the difference between reverb and no reverb you will want reverb on your keyboard.

The next feature to look for is a recording facility. Recorders are built in to keyboard, they don’t use tape, they use memory chips to record actions made on a keyboard such as playing a piece of music. These recorders are referred to as music sequencers and can create very complex almost orchestral pieces of music although the features on a sequencer at your price range will be limited. As a beginner you will not get a lot of use from this feature however, it can be used as a teaching aid, for example a teacher can play a section of music in to the sequencer and the pupil can then listen and practice the sequence of music as many times as is needed. If this feature is pushing your budget, then I would say you don’t need it. The choice is yours.

Finally, most keyboards made today have two or three “MIDI” connections; these can normally be found on the back of the keyboard and look like five pin din sockets and are marked up as MIDI In, MIDI Out and MIDI Through. MIDI stands for “musical instrument digital interface” As a beginner you will not use these connections. These connections enable your keyboard to play and be played by other keyboards. They can also connect to a computer and music can be played and created using MIDI and computer programs. MIDI is a complex subject and if you wish to learn more about this subject, you can search the internet where you will find lots of information about MIDI. So if your keyboard does not have MIDI connections, its does not matter, if your keyboard does have MIDI connections it still doesn’t matter.

In part four I will discuss optional extras, which for some people could be necessary extras. Also information about keyboard lessons.

Simple Weight Loss Strategies Part 2

If dieting doesn’t work, what other strategies can you adopt for simple weight loss?
One possible approach is to design your own weight loss diet and learn to cook.

You know the type of food you enjoy and you know what’s good for you and what isn’t. It may seem that these are miles apart. However, it is possible to combine the two in a way that will make weight loss easy and keep your taste buds happy at the same time.

This technique will require a little time and effort, but the long term benefits – a healthier slimmer you – will be well worth it.

Start by making a list of all your favourite dishes, including takeaways and ready meals. Now think what could be added to these to make them healthier. And what could be taken away to make them healthier?

You’ve probably written vegetables and perhaps lean meat in answer to the first question and salt, sugar and fat in answer to the second. So let’s look at your favourite meals. Fish and chips? Certainly likely if you live in the UK. Try oven chips with baked salmon, with a variety of frozen vegetables – you’ll be cutting out so many calories by getting rid of the batter and deep-fried chips, that you can allow yourself a little ketchup. And this is very easy to cook.

How about sweet and sour pork? Cut out the batter again and use lean meat in a sauce with a little ketchup (I have this from a Chinese chef – tomato ketchup is the secret ingredient in sweet and sour sauce! If you can find sugar free ketchup, so much the better), tinned pineapple in juice (not syrup), some balsamic vinegar and a load of vegetables.

If you eat ready meals, read the labels and see if you can come up with a healthier version by omitting some of the unnecessary ingredients, such as wheat and sugar, and cutting down on the fat. Obviously, this won’t be possible for all your favourite dishes, but sugar, wheat and excess amounts of fat find their way into so much of what we eat, that it’s not difficult to make your own diet-conscious alternatives.

Learning to cook is a sure way to know exactly what goes into your mouth and will not only help you control your weight, but will also improve your health. Once you’ve mastered a few weight loss recipes, you can cook these dishes in bulk and freeze them. This will save time and will mean you always have something tasty on hand for times when you are busy, hungry and need something to eat in a hurry. Try getting the whole family involved – if you have kids this will really help them to become independent and what better gift can you give them than the key to a healthy future? And with so many children and teens struggling with obesity, teaching them simple weight loss strategies will help them avoid becoming overweight in the first place.
