Could A Migraine Headache Be Linked To A Change In Seasons?

A migraine headache is one of the worst headaches a person can experience. They are debilitating as they do not just provide pain but is usually accompanied by sensitivity to light, sound and cause nausea. Most sufferers have to lie down in a darkened bedroom, with a wet cloth over their eyes until the migraine finally goes away. A migraine headache may last from hours to days.

The cause of the migraine headache is unknown, which is exceedingly frustrating. Also, not everyone will experience a migraine in the same way. Not even the same person will have a migraine headache the same way! My migraines occur in the Spring and Fall when the seasons change. Doctors do not know if the trigger is pollen, change of the amount of sunlight per day or change in stress level.

Thankfully I only get one migraine each season but the migraine headache is not the same each time. Some migraines are very bad and feel like someone is drilling all over my skull at once. Other times my head just feels like it is stuck in a vise. Sometimes I’ll get an aura before the migraine headache starts. That at least gives me a warning so that I can get home and stop driving before it hits.

The migraine headache aura is something peculiar to the migraine headache. It is a visual disturbance that migraine sufferers will experience before the headache begins and may also occur during the rest of the headache.

I have experienced two types of aura with my migraines over the years. The aura will either be a large arch of vibrating red and blue small triangles that gradually appear and block out my vision in one eye, or it will be a hole of no vision over one eye. My left eye seems to be the one usually affected by the auras. As you can see, it is impossible to function normally with an aura that precursors a migraine headache.

After the migraine headache is over I am completely exhausted and feel ill. For those that have never had the misfortune to experience a migraine headache, it is very hard to explain the pain and recovery symptoms. It is like needing to recover from physical torture. Your body needs to recover and so does your mental state. I am lucky in that I only have a few migraine headaches a year. I really do not know how people can even live when they have several migraines a week!

Small and Large Dogs- How Size Variations Can Help Us Learn More About Diseases We Share With Dogs

Dogs are descended from wolves but the domestic dogs of today are quite different from the dogs of long ago. The largest variation in size of any animals that live on land is found among the various breeds of dogs. Because dogs and humans have more than 200 diseases in common and humans share about 85% of our genetic makeup with canines in general, it is important to study the variation of size found in dogs. There were probably smaller wolves in ancient times but we have no way of knowing for sure. These smaller canines would have been more likely to have been treated as pets by ancient men. This was the beginning of man wanting to breed smaller dogs for different uses, such as hunting, herding and watching for intruders.

The reason that we have dogs of such varying size is that breeders started using selective breeding hundreds of years ago. The smallest dogs from each litter were mated together, resulting in smaller and smaller dogs. Purebred dogs became less pure and finally the bloodlines were diluted to the point that the purest animals of each breed became almost extinct. It is for this reason that we are able to learn so much from the diseases we share in common with dogs. These diseases include cancer, high blood pressure and arthritis.

Small dogs have a mutation in one of their chromosomes that accounts for the growth sequence from birth to adolescence in mammals. By studying this gene and the hormone it controls we can put the pieces of the puzzle together in a way that was previously unknown.

By learning more about the similarities between humans and dogs we can find out new ways to treat and prevent many diseases that we have in common. This is just one more way that dogs are truly man’s best friend.

Newgrange

The Boyne Valley and its surroundings, situated in a loop of the River Boyne, some 20 miles north-west from Dublin, a few miles west of Drogheda, County Meath, is one of the most important Irish locations as far as historical heritage is concerned, from pre-celtic to medieval times. In this area you can find the pre-celtic tumula of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, the Hill of Tara, where the ancient Irish kings settled their kingdom (actually, there is not much to see in Tara nowadays, but the site is inspiring), Monasterboice with its High Crosses, the Mellifont Abbey, and many other interesting things.

Newgrange is the best known Irish passage tomb. It was constructed around 3200BC, this makes it more than 500 years older than the Giza Pyramids in Egypt and 1,000 years more ancient than Stonehenge. It is about 80m in diameter and is surounded by a kerb of 97 stones. Some of these are elaborately carved. Inside the mound is a passageway lined with roughly-hewn stone slabs, which leads to a cross-shaped chamber.

The entrance to the passage is a simple doorway formed by two upright slabs and a horizontal lintel. Above the doorway is a hole known as the roofbox. The passageway has an amazing feature: although built from roughly-hewn rock, it is aligned in such a way that the rising sun shines through the roofbox, down the passageway, and lights up the central chamber on the morning of the Winter Solstice (21 or 22 December). This amazing fact was only discovered during the 19th Century and verified scientifically around 1960. While initially dismissed as coincidence, it is now generally accepted that the mound was designed with this in mind. It shows that the people of 5000 years ago were far more sophisticated than we generally think.

Newgrange is open to the public by guided tour only. Visitors must report to the Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre on the opposite side of the River Boyne, where they walk across a pedestrian bridge and are brought by coach to the site.

Knowth is less well known than Newgrange. It is actually slightly bigger, being about 84m in diameter. The great mound of this most spectacular site is outlined by 127 massive kerbstones. There are two passages, aligned to face East and West. The west-facing one is an unbranching curved passage. The east-facing one is cross-shaped and similar to the one in Newgrange. It is claimed that these passages are aligned with the position of the rising and setting sun at the two equinoxes. This claim is not generally accepted and has not been verified.

Knowth has a huge amount of stone carvings. It is reckoned that one quarter of all Europe’s neolithic art is held within Knowth! The same spirals appear throughout Knowth, as well as other patterns based on diamonds and chevrons.

While some people dispute the fact that the primary purpose of these mounds was as tombs, there is no doubt that many people were interred there. The remains of 200 people were discovered in Knowth. The stone age practise was to cremate the bodies outside, then place the remains in a hollow in a special stone within the burial chamber called the basin stone. The basin stone in Knowth’s western passage is no longer in the burial chamber. In 1000 AD, somebody tried to remove it from the mound, not realising it was bigger than the passage. It got stuck in the passage and remains there to this day.

Tours of Knowth are available from the Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre. The tour does not allow visitors into the passages themselves.

WHY Network Marketing? How Network Marketing?

Do you love network marketing? Do you know that network marketing is the vehicle to create a recurring income for life? Do you have realistic expectations of network marketing? Were you promised you could join, work a few hours a week and get rich in no time?

I’m here to tell you the TRUTH. Network marketing can be the vehicle to create a recurring income for life. Can it happen overnight? NO.

Think of it like this: Bamboo grows mainly under the ground. It’s roots spread out and cover a great area. This takes time. Each year, bamboo only grows a few feet. After 5 years or so, bamboo will all of a sudden shoot up over 30 feet. This is because it spent the majority of it’s time in the first 5 years growing solid roots into the ground. Only after the root system is solid, does the bamboo really begin to flourish and grow tall and strong.

Be bamboo!! Build a good solid foundation. Network marketing takes time. It is a relationship business. Build good, solid relationships that will last a lifetime BEFORE you sponsor the person into your organization. It is important that you let your prospects get to know you. And you get to know them. This way, you will know up front if you are going to be able to work together.

We can look at it this way: A friend of mine is starting college this year. He gets to struggle for 4-5 years while studying/attending classes during the day and working at night (outside the home) to pay for tuition. He is learning a trade that will eventually allow him to (in 4 or 5 years) BEGIN his career by helping make some lucky business owner rich. (I’m not saying college is bad. I went to college and my kids will go to college.)

I am beginning my network marketing career with a new company this year. I will work 15 - 20 hours a week for 5 - 10 years and have the financial and time freedom to do the things I want to do. I will probably continue to work and continue to increase my RESIDUAL income, but I won’t HAVE to.

Talavera Ceramics - Hand-Painted Mexican Handicrafts to Beautify Your Home

From the skilled hands of Mexican artisans, comes the unique Talavera pottery, inspired by both Mexican and European influences. This tradition originates in the city of Puebla from the time of its origin in the early 1500’s. The beautiful and elegant earthenware is the result of the talented artistry of native Mexican people, mixed with those of craftsmen from other countries such as Spain and Italy. The colorfully glazed and painted artwork is detailed, depicting fanciful patterns on tile, pottery, sinks and other styles.

When traveling in northern Mexico, I ran into Talavera pottery for the first time, in a large craft bazaar. I went booth to booth in El Mercado in Puerto Vallarta, checking out all the pottery, and had a hard time buying only one piece to take home. The more detailed a piece was, the more expensive it was. With rich colors such as cobalt, green, red and yellow, all the designs capture your attention and make you want to look more closely at the complex patterns. Each piece is hand-painted over a white base glaze Majolica-style, and then signed by the pottery studio or craftsman who made it. Also, it is marked with its city of origin, Puebla. If these bottom markings aren’t present, it isn’t an authentic Talavera piece.

Going into galleries in the streets of Puerto Vallarta, I saw an even wider variety of larger, more expensive Talavera pottery, along with beautiful tiles and even sinks. They were spectacular. Nothing dresses up a kitchen or bathroom like hand-painted ceramics. For anyone wanting to decorate their home, these designs make any room look sophisticated and unique. Talavera ceramics aren’t cheap, especially the fancier patterns and larger pieces, but they are worth the money for sure. Hours of artisans’ work went into each, and no two items are exactly the same.

If you want to look for Talavera nowadays, all you need to do is search it on the internet, and there are many sites to buy it from. Now that a trip to Mexico isn’t necessary to buy them, shop around and compare sites. Different artists have different styles of painting so see which style suits your needs best. When buying tile, buy more than you think you’ll need, because that style may become discontinued. Buy more to be safe, so you won’t have trouble finding more tile to finish your project later.

The versatility of Talavera pottery will fascinate even the most picky customer. It’s like going to an art gallery to see all the hand-painted artwork of Pueblan craftspeople. Look around, and you’re sure to impress by dressing your home with the beauty and elegance of these unique Mexican handicrafts.

Have You Been Wronged or Betrayed?

It’s always a painful thing to be wronged, especially by someone close to you, whom you had trusted so much.

It’s one thing to be wronged by a person you are not that close to. But when a person who is very close to you does you wrong, how do you handle it?
Do you get angry with the person, and let your anger off at the fellow? Or do you keep quiet about it and nurse a grudge about the person?
How can you deal with such a deep emotional wound?

The moment in your life when you are wronged is not the time to take any rash decision that you might regret later. Some people have taken extreme actions, in reaction to such an event. But no matter their excuses, they have had to face the wrath of the law and the consequences of their actions. Even if they get let off the hook, the whole experience is not worth it.

The best way to deal with such a situation is to open up to a trusted person and really heal. Talking about the pain in your heart helps it to reduce, and helps you to get over it gradually.
Bottling up your pain, struggles and emotional hurts and wounds does not help you at all.

Rather, it makes you the more depressed and you are likely to do what you normally wouldn’t do.

To remain sane and healthy, you should find a close friend, a counselor or a minister to talk with. Talking about the wrong done you helps a lot in unburdening your mind.
And that helps you a lot in getting over the whole sad episode.

Don’t carry your hurts, wounds and pains alone. Find someone you can trust to talk things over with today. It could be the greatest favor you would do yourself.

Advantages Of Private Jet Charters

Why do people and corporations spend thousands of dollars on private jets? There are three main reasons for this: speed, convenience, and security.

First, private jets can be much faster than conventional airplanes such as the Boeing 747 or Airbus A330. The fastest consumer airplanes peak at about 550 miles per hour (880 kilometers per hour). However, many private jets, such as the Cessna Citation X, can peak at over 600 miles per hour, which is near the speed of sound! Even though 50 miles per hour may not seem like much, it quickly adds up.

Second, when at a normal airport, people are standing in line for up to hours at a time to check in their baggage, go through security, etc. A private jet charter has it much easier on the passengers, as they are able to check in at a separate area, and are many times able to use smaller airports that are closer to the destination. This saves precious time and reduces unneeded stress on the passengers. Combine this with the extra speed of a private jet charter, and you can see why this is so appealing.

Finally, security can be much tighter for a private jet charter. Instead of relying on random checks, everyone can be screened at the owners will and the plane can be safeguarded. This can be useful for transporting foreign dignitaries or company executives. The possibilities are endless. Once again, this saves time by not having to wait through the security checkpoint line, which can be quite lengthy.

Don’t Get Burned With Your MLM Company

You’ve all seen the flashy Ferraris, huge mansions, and seemingly perfect lives of the big multi-level-marketing (MLM) distributors. The general public makes an assumption that these big time distributors must be making their money by selling of millions of dollars of products to their downline. But in a lot of cases, that is far from reality…

Although a lot of MLM companies are are legit because they have an actual product to sell, there is a dark side to the MLM industry that you will never hear about when attending one of their business opportunity conventions.

This is the secret side business that your overly zealous upline will never tell you about. They never mention that there is a second business hidden within distributing physical products itself.

The secret second business in a lot of multi-level-marketing is selling hope and motivation through information products. Examples of information products are business tapes, CDs, DVDs, quarterly business seminars, monthly voice mail systems, etc.

There have been some well publicized cases in which high level distributors have been found to make up to seventy percent of their income from selling these information products such as tapes, books, seminars, etc., and NOT the protein bars, cosmetics, etc. itself!

The fact is, you can get much of the same recycled motivational materials for a fraction of the cost at any website. No wonder a lot of these MLM companies absolutely insist that people you recruit must buy these info products in order to increase their chances of success.

I’m sick and tired of these MLM companies being deceptive to their distributors and giving them false hope by brainwashing them to listen to those useless motivational tapes

Although there have been no formal investigations on how much the big MLM distributors make from selling information, we can only estimate their profits by the price of each tape being sold multiplied by thousands of distributors per month.

Selling information is big business. And after being in the information business for about a year now, I realized how much money these big time MLM distributors are ripping us off and profiting BIG by focusing on selling these less-than-worthless tapes and business meetings instead of selling the actual products themselves

So if you you see that your upline is shoving those motivational tapes down your throat insisting that it is absolutely crucial to your success, you may want to take a step back and decide for yourself if they really want you to buy the motivational CDs for your own success, or for your uplines own profits!

Fed up with a lot of MLM scams making most of their money from info products and knowing how many people got burned from their former MLM company, Alan Quan from http://www.e-bizcoachalan.com has launched a revolutionary new system called The Art Of Prospecting Without Prospecting which will help former MLM distributors start making money selling information - just like the big boys of MLM do!

Common Sense Tips For Better Travel Photographs

When you have free time to travel to any of the beautiful locations of your choice, your camera and your knowledge of how to use it will be the difference of having beautiful visual memories to reflect on forever, or to experience the disappointment of lost memories.

There are so many wonderful places to travel to around the world, and for most of us it can be a once in a lifetime experience. It is wonderful to have photographs as seen through your own eyes to relive those times over and over.

Most of us nowadays have a digital camera to record our travels and they are fairly easy to use, usually just a point and shoot method. But many people forget small basic steps that can lead to disaster and lost photographic opportunities.

Simple things like not having spare batteries or making sure their rechargeable batteries are charged. Making sure to have more than one memory card in case one has a problem or you get caught up in the moment and take too many photographs. Not having your owners manual with you to explain a possible error message from your camera and how to fix it, or how to do an advanced photography technique that you may not be able to do in automatic mode.

Try to make sure you have had the camera for a while and are fairly familiar with it, you will be gambling if you go with a brand new camera that you are not familiar with.

When you are traveling and on different tours you do not always have a lot of time to compose and capture your images, so knowing your camera and being ready will prevent you from missing great photographs.

When taking your photographs, you do not want to point your camera into the sun unless you want a silhouette effect. Always try and have the sun or light source behind you to get the best results.

When photographing people in a scene try and photograph them in the shade otherwise they will be squinting and the photographs
will have too much contrast.

Try and use objects in front of the camera to show perspective. Along with your beautiful landscapes try and pick a subject within the landscape as a motif. A small mini tripod is also a great piece of equipment to take low light or night photographs.

These are just a few small tips to insure that your travel photographs are as close to the real thing as possible. Enjoy your travels and return to relive them again in photographs.
