Eliminate Your High Interest Debt

Monthly credit card payments have recently skyrocketed, which has resulted in millions of people looking for some type of debt relief.

While consumers struggle to make even their minimum monthly payments, issuers of credit cards are realizing all-time record profits. For instance, credit card companies earned a staggering $90.1 Billion in profits from interest charged to consumers during the year 2006. What’s worse is that these same companies earned $55.2 Billion in fees charged to their customers, such as over-limit fees and late fees.

If you’re a consumer contributing to these ridiculous profits through high interest credit card debt, and you’re struggling to meet your monthly financial obligations, it’s time to reassess your current situation. I recommend that you gather all of your credit card bills and carefully review each statement. You’ll want to determine exactly how much interest and/or fees are accruing on your accounts each month. After doing so, you should be able to have a clear understanding of whether or not you can realistically pay off these debts in a reasonable amount of time, and eliminate some of the interest you’re paying.

This task can be simplified by using a Credit Card Interest Rate Worksheet. By utilizing a worksheet you can clearly review your finances and determine if you’re being strangled by high interest. If you find that your current credit card debt is nearly impossible to pay off through regular monthly payments to your creditors, it’s time to seek help. The following solutions have helped many people to eliminate their debt:

  • Debt Consolidation Loan
  • Consumer Credit Counseling
  • Debt Settlement
  • Bankruptcy (Most people resort to bankruptcy only as a last resort, but it is an option)

It’s time to take action now so that you can realize a debt-free lifestyle and eliminate your concern and anxiety due to money concerns. I wish you the very best in your endeavor to eliminate debt and concern.

Credit and the Customer!

Here you are at the local Electronics store wanting to buy that 42 inch plasma screen TV. The salesperson is salivating for sale because with this it will put him over the top of the sales list. You go and reach for your wallet open it slowly and pulled out a small slim card. The sales person grabs it and walks very fast to the stand alone terminal near them and begins to type. Mind you the cost of the TV is over $3,500.00 dollars he does not even have that in his bank account! The sales person quickly swipes the card the terminal makes some whizzing noises and within a matter of seconds the purchase is done. The card is given back to the owner they shake hands and the owner walks away with his purchase.

This event is constantly taking place all over the US as every second ticks by someone somewhere is buying something using their credit card. The credit card has been around since the 1960’s at that time the credit card was considered a charge card and was only at the time given to traveling sales people who are constantly on the road. But as time progressed more companies began to offer credit card services to more people not just sales people. Making credit cards more available to the masses has made the fledgling credit card companies into global corporations.

People enjoy using credit because they don’t have to carry large amounts of cash around. If they need to buy something all they have to do is to swipe their card and that’s about it. Unlike cash the credit card does not take up a lot of space in your wallet or purse. It is so easy to use and get that most people in the US have more than one card that they own.

Interest rates are very competitive from one company to the next, which is why they offer low interest rates and some other freebies like frequent flyer miles etc. So it is best to shop around and find the right company that can give you what you are looking for.

Once you have a credit card in your possession you can practically buy anything you can depending on the credit limit of the card. You will receive a bill by the end of the month of all the charges you have made. A lot of credit card companies frown upon late payments so it is in your best interest to pay on time every time! Late charge fees will be added to your over due account if you keep paying late. Which is why when you have credit you must be very responsible while using it. Never ever go off on a tangent and buy stuff you don’t even need. I like to have credit cards for emergency purposes only. My motto is “If you can’t afford it then you don’t need it!”

All in all to have credit is a must in this world. It will open many opportunities for you and others. Credit makes it easy for anyone to buy easily and safely within seconds. It also comes in handy when you don’t have any money in your pocket. So please try to keep your credit rating in good standing and you will be fine!

SEO – Wearing the White Hat Part 1

If you have heard the term “Black Hat SEO” then you know the term is applied negatively to websites that use methods of optimizing their website that are frowned on by search engines. In fact, these search engines will ban these sites from their rankings when they are discovered (and they almost always are).

There is another term used for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) referred to as “White Hat”, and just like the movie westerns of yesteryear you get the picture that there is a struggle between good and bad between these optimization approaches.

Newsweek reported in a December 19th, 2005 article, “[Search engines] are increasingly tolerant of ethical or “white hat” [SEOs], who primarily help their clients knock down the virtual walls that prevent search engines from fully indexing their site.”

To be clear, search engines view “Black Hat” SEO as spam while “White Hat” SEO is not only accepted, it is encouraged. Matt Cutts from Google has said, “To Google, SEO only becomes spam when it goes against our quality guidelines and moves into things like hidden text, hidden links, cloaking, or sneaky redirects…Truthfully, much of the best SEO is common-sense: making sure that a site’s architecture is crawlable, coming up with useful content or services that has the words that people search for, and looking for smart marketing angles so that people find out about your site.”

Now imagine a business owner looking for ways to pay the least amount on their income tax. They have every right to do so, but there comes a point when numbers are incorrectly manipulated to reduce the individual tax burden. Chances are pretty good that sometime in the future this individual is going to get caught.

“White Hat” SEO practitioners understand there is acceptable rules and they will frame their strategies within those rules because to ‘get caught’ using unethical SEO practices could mean saying goodbye to your ability to let the most people know about your existence on the web.

“Black Hat” SEO is often a sign of desperation. Because proper SEO techniques can take a while to be recognized and applied to search engine rankings many businesses who may feel their chance at business success is slipping away may resort to “Black Hat” techniques and end up banned from search engines in the process.

I can’t fault people for wanting business success sooner, but the moderate use of PPC advertising can help offset that ‘in-between’ time when you are waiting for “White Hat” SEO strategies to kick in.

In our next article we’ll answer the question, “What are some SEO strategies that are considered ‘White Hat’?”

It is commonly accepted that portable media device
manufacturers designed their products for music and not for
audio books. However, with the increasing popularity of
audio books, more and more people are embracing portable
media technology in order to enjoy audio books; we are no
longer limited to listening to downloaded audio books on our
personal computers and laptops.

Unfortunately, not all mp3 players are the same, and there
are some that are better geared toward audio books than
others. Below are a few things to keep in mind when you are
looking for an mp3 player for th main purpose of listening
to audio books.

* Make sure the mp3 player has a good volume feature. Quite
often it is difficult to hear a person’s voice when there is
a lot of background noise. For example, if you’re listening
to an audio book while jogging and you come across a
construction site, you could miss some of the audio to the
sound of the tools.

* Examine how each mp3 player handles interruption. When
listening to music and the mp3 player gets interrupted for
whatever reason, it’s no big deal to skip ahead to the last
track you were listening to. With an audio book, this isn’t
so simple. Make sure the mp3 player has a memory feature
that automatically goes back to where the track was
interrupted.

* Be sure the mp3 player has enough memory. Often audio book
files are much larger than music files, so be sure the mp3
player has the capacity to hold your books.

* Don’t sacrifice quality and durability for size. Smaller
mp3 players are more pleasing to the eye, but they are
sometimes of lower quality.

* Make sure the mp3 player was manufactured by a reputable
company. Don’t buy just any mp3 player because it costs
less.

* Be sure the mp3 player can read encrypted files. Most
publishers want to protect their product from piracy, so be
sure your mp3 player has DRM (Digital Rights Management)
capabilities, often referred to as WMA DRM.

There are also car stereo systems available that have CD
players with mp3 capabilities. These devices are great for
those who have long commutes and are tired of listening to
the same old stuff on the radio. If you already have a
portable mp3 player and you want to listen to audio books in
your car, but you don’t have a stereo system with mp3
capabilities, don’t fret; you can simply pick up an AUX
socket to connect your mp3 player to your car’s CD player.

Managing Change - Understanding Why People Change

When attempting to manage change in an organization you have to first understand that there is no such thing as organizational change - there is only people change. Organizations are simply groups of people working under a certain structure that enables them to accomplish the work at hand. It’s important that you get that as most people don’t.

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s turn to the question of ‘why’ people change. Understanding the ‘why’ is the first step in the challenge of engaging people in the organization in the change efforts. If you miss this one, you’ll miss lots more and your efforts will never get off the ground.

There are two reasons and two reasons only that people change. One is inspiration, the other is desperation. People are inspired to be different or they are forced through some form of desperation. Think about it … people change primarily around events like marriage, birth, death or a health crisis. Let me explain.

Several years back I was an alcoholic. I started drinking when I was fourteen years old. Growing up in a small town in Ohio, seventy-five people, and we had one saloon. If you could get your head over the bar, you could get served. My friends and I used to gather up soda bottles for two cents each and cash in a quarter’s worth and buy a quart of Carling Black Label. That was my start.

Fast forward a little over a decade, I’m late twenties, married with one child and still drinking out of a fire hose. My time in Nam as a Marine sniper didn’t help matters and after six years of marriage my wife had had all the fun she could take. Long story short, one day my wife punched me in the mouth and said, “Me, or drinking … make a choice!”

Well she changed my life and in that moment of desperation I made a choice … I changed. But I tried for years to change out of my own inspiration and each time I failed. For me, I couldn’t make that dramatic change until my life was on the edge of the cliff and while it was difficult and very hard to do … I made it, purely out of desperation. While my change was personal, it is the same. Almost all ‘organizational change’ is also made out of desperation.

Think about IBM when they had to bring Lou Gerstner in to fix it. They put off the changes for years until they were near death as a corporation then brought Gerstner in out of desperation. Gerstner was talented and came with a mandate and his changes could be said to be out of inspiration. So what drove the changes was desperation, the changes were out of inspiration.

People in the organization, in IBM’s case, were first forced to change out of desperation from the lack of leadership before Gerstner. After he took charge and introduced the changes necessary to save the business, the people were now being changed as a result of his inspiration. That’s how it works. Change from inspiration happens twenty percent of the time and the other eighty percent comes from desperation.

I just returned from working with a large organization that decided to move a headquarters to Europe to save a couple hundred million on taxes. For the people here in this country, many with over twenty years with the company, one person’s inspiration was their desperation. While it doesn’t change the pain involved with changing, it does help to understand the ‘why’ of changing.

When you’re managing change, always understand the two reasons people change … one is inspiration and the other is desperation.

Ed Kugler has been living change since the jungles of Vietnam where he was a Marine Sniper for two-years in the Vietnam War. He came home to a country he hadn’t left and began work as a mechanic and truck driver. Since then he has worked his way into the executive suite of Frito Lay, Pepsi Cola and Compaq Computer where he was Vice President of Worldwide Logistics, a position he achieved with no college degree. Ed left in 1997 to consult and write. He is the author of Dead Center - A Marine Sniper’s Two Year Odyssey in the Vietnam War and five other books and counting. He regularly consults with some o the nations leading companies on organizational change and coaches individuals to make the most of their lives. Ed is the father of three, grandfather to three and has been married to the same woman for 38 years and counting.

Is Horny Goat Weed For Real?

Many people think that horny goat weed is a product. Horny goat weed is a naturally occurring herb, not a product of any sort. The name Horny Goat Weed was given to Epimedium (the real name of the herbal ingredient) when a Chinese goat farmer discovered that when he fed his goat a special looking weed, they become more sexual among the group. Thus “Horny Goat Weed” was born. It was used later by Chinese herbalists mainly as an aphrodisiac, and a cure for erectile dysfunction and sexual dysfunction for women. The herbal ingredient is marketed sometimes as an anti-impotence treatment; however it works very well for both male and females.

Horny Goat Weed is said to boost sexual desire, increase sexual pleasure and boosts female libido. These are all true statements. Epimedium does this by increasing nitric oxide levels and increasing blood flow around the body. Increased blood flow to the penis helps men achieve erections much more easily and the same for women; increased blood flow to the genital area helps women get more aroused easily. This effect also causes smoother, relaxed muscles which boosts sexual performance. Epimedium also cures back problems, kidney problems, joint problems and liver problems. It has been used by Chinese herbalists for hundreds of years.

Epimedium has a PDE5 inhibiting effect as well. Viagra, the famous blue anti-impotence pill, has this same effect, but to a much more higher level, to the point where there are dangerous side effects such as heart attacks, stroke, dangerously low blood pressure, lack of vision and even sudden death. Epimedium produces smaller amounts of PDE5, an enzyme that helps men get erections. These smaller amounts insure that there are no side effects, and makes Epimedium a safe sexual booster. If you have sexual dysfunction or erectile dysfunction, Epimedium is for you. If you want to spark up your sex life by a lot, Epimedium is also for you. Horny Goat Weed is a great alternative to Viagra in terms of cost. Viagra costs around US 10 for a single tiny pill, while a bottle of legitimate Horny Goat Weed can give you more than 50 tablets. Horny Goat Weed works best in the form of a tablet, because this is the way herbal ingredients can be absorbed the fastest around the body. There are some horny goat weed selling in powder form, but this method is not convenient at all. Epimedium works best for men and women ages 18 and above.

People looking to purchase Epimedium should be aware that an overwhelming majority of Horny Goat weed products available in stores and on the internet are ineffective and some don’t even work at all. Fake horny goat weed pills are highly ineffective and dangerous to take. The cheaper ones (these ones are very cheap) are sometimes illegitimate and ineffective as well. These products should be avoided at all costs for safety and health.

When looking for horny goat weed products online you should be always aware of the product knowledge the website has. The website should contain detailed information about Epimedium and Horny Goat weed, in terms of history, its uses and the fact that Epimedium can’t cause any side effects, as it is a natural herbal ingredient.

Tyler Williams is an expert in male enhancement products and sexual enhancement products in general. He recommends this Horny Goat Weed product.

Computer Forensics Helping Katrina Homeowner Litigation

On Aug. 29, 2005, hurricane Katrina destroyed thousands of homes on the Gulf Coast. When homeowners were finally allowed to return to their homes and saw the damage, they began the process of working with their insurers to file their claim and start over. What they were faced with were claim denials for their homeowner policies.

Zach Scruggs, one of many attorneys involved in litigation against these insurers, said Forensic turned over the e-mails as part of the pretrial discovery litigation. Homeowners who where suing State Farm Insurance for Hurricane Katrina claim coverage had accused the insurer of pressuring their engineers to modify reports regarding the hurricane damaged property so that policyholders’ claims could be denied.

Recently obtained internal e-mails from an engineering firm that helped State Farm adjust claims are helping lawyers litigate their claims because of the evidence they have obtained with E-Discovery and Computer Forensics. Some of these e-mails are conversations between the Forensic president and CEO Robert Kochan and Randy Down, the firm’s vice president of engineering services. In one particular e-mail, it says the firm will continue working with State Farm, but discusses needing to “redo the wording” of a report after a complaint by Alexis King, a State Farm Manager in Mississippi, so “such that the conclusions are better supported.”

Alexis King didn’t want local engineers to inspect properties because they were “too emotionally involved” and were “working very hard to find justifications to call it wind damage when the facts only show water induced damage,” according to an e-mail. Randy Down questioned the State Farm’s motivations and questioned the ethics of the insurer via e-mail with the insurer telling the firm what to put in the reports.

All of this information would have gone unnoticed if it wasn’t for the field of Computer Forensics. Computer forensics has quickly become a vital tool and source of information for criminal investigators, corporate counsel, and prosecutors. Computer forensics investigators use their skills to identify and restore formatted, corrupted, deleted or hidden files from computers or other electronic media while maintaining crucial data trails, time & date stamps and accurate chain of custody & controls. They also obtain access to protected or encrypted data by using specialized software.

You Can Play the Flute!

Dreaming of playing the flute?

Did you miss out on learning to play the flute as a youngster? Think it’s too late?

It’s never too late to follow your passion. Flutists definitely have a passion for their instrument.

A popular misconception is that adults can’t learn to play the flute and that only children have the ability to pursue musical studies.

A variety of reasons are given…

  • Lack of time

  • Lack of motivation

  • Inability to learn as fast as young people

  • Too old, thus not worth the bother

To all of the above, I would like to say, poppycock!

OK, adults are busy earning a living, performing their jobs, and fulfilling all the mundane tasks of daily life.

However, a real passion has a way of making its own time. A few minutes here, a few minutes there, and over the course of months and years, a flutist is born!

Lack of motivation? Please!

Adults are highly motivated. Adults know what they missed, and they feel the time crunch and the clock that is ticking. While children fritter away time chatting on the phone and wandering in the malls, adults carve out blocks of time whenever and wherever they can.

Next is that “old dog not being able to learn new tricks” nonsense. Many adults feel self-conscious about learning in a situation typically reserved for children. That contributes to their lack of progress or even their discontinuing studies altogether. Who wants to feel bad about themselves?

However, that can be overcome, too. Traditional lessons now can be replaced with videos, DVDs, on-line lessons, and flexible teachers. An adult has many options for learning to play the flute that just didn’t exist a few years back.

Lastly, as an adult, a lot of the opportunities that exist for students aren’t there. No solo contests, honor bands, or Young Artist Competitions. Lots of snooty college professors would probably turn up their noses at an adult student as well.

Well, who needs it! Contests and competitions are vastly overrated. Sure, it’s fun, but you can have plenty of fun playing the flute without that stuff.

So what’s an adult flutist to do? Try these tips…

  • Check with your church and ask if they have an orchestra or if there are opportunities to play your flute, such as with a praise band or as an addition to the pianist with hymn descants, for example.

  • Find a flute choir in the area that is accepting new members.

  • If you can’t find a flute choir, form your own!

  • Form your own small ensemble with friends, including other flutists, pianists, guitars, a harp, or any combination you want. Find opportunities to play your music at church, civic events, private functions, etc. Use your imagination.

  • Form a flute society that gets together regularly and plays ensembles. Double the parts of duets and trios, and just have fun playing at home!

You can play the flute no matter what age you are.

If you suffer from Fibromyalgia and its many devastatingly painful and sometimes debilitating symptoms, there are steps you can take to help you live a better life with Fibromyalgia. You may wonder if there is life after fibromyalgia pain, fatigue, brain fog, and other horrible symptoms of the condition. You may wonder if you will ever lead a full life again. Well, the answer is yes, let’s take a look at the three steps.

The first step is to accept your condition and not live in denial of it. If you live in denial you can’t fight it. Getting this terrible illness was not your fault and there is hope. There are steps that can help you eliminate the symptoms of Fibromyalgia. Living in denial you will shortchange your opportunities to healing. Living in denial will have you neglecting the actions that you can take to fight this condition.

Another important technique to help you live with Fibromyalgia is to adjust your activity levels to the limits your body is capable of. What I mean by this is you don’t want to be out training for a marathon when you are in pain or fatigued. Accepting your limitations can equate to setting priorities. Pacing is a term that is used often when dealing with chronic conditions. Pacing ourselves within our limitations so that we don’t throw ourselves into complete exhaustion. Prioritizing what must get done with our wants. Ruling out what we don’t have to do will help us reserve strength and wellness for the activities that are important. We gain a sense of wellness when we live within our limits. Try embracing the idea that it’s okay to have to adapt your life to this illness, all the while knowing, you can take steps to eliminating the symptoms of Fibromyalgia.

One of the most important tips I can offer you is to create a support system. Chronic illnesses can be isolating and depression can set in. Having a support system of people who care about you and are willing to help you is crucial in people with Fibromyalgia. One word of caution when seeking out a support system, know that not everyone will understand. Chronic illness is hard for some people to grasp and be compassionate about. Don’t set high expectations on everyone you know. However, keep in mind you will need support and take it when offered to you.

Keep an optimistic attitude and educate yourself. Arming yourself with a positive attitude along with educating yourself about everything regarding this condition can open countless doors that can aid you in your recovery.

Finally, one other thing you can do to help you through this in the best possible way is to rest. Get plenty of rest whenever you can. Even if you can’t sleep make sure your body gets plenty of rest. When your body is asking for rest, give it the rest it needs. It’s much easier to rest when needed than playing catch up when you are exhausted. If you overdo it and don’t get needed rest, you may find yourself in bed for hours and hours.

Living with Fibromyalgia can be hopeful and full of life when incorporating these simple life strategies. When implementing these you will allow yourself the opportunities to begin healing. You can take back your life and have joy again, even with Fibromyalgia. At ridfibromyalgia.com you can find strategies that can help you completely eliminate your fibromyalgia symptoms and take back your life.

Seven Restaurant - A Jewel In Whislter

Whistler, British Columbia is the resort to watch from now to 2010. With the Olympic Games just three short years away, operators are making their moves and polishing their acts. Seven Restaurant opened in December of 2006 to a record season for snow in this cozy ski village. In the former location of Val D’Isere Brasserie, this a the latest jewel at the foot of Whistler Mountain.

Walking into the room at Seven, you notice dark woodwork with vibrant color on the walls with contemporary Asian accents. The lounge area features a comfortable, inviting and fun atmosphere, with leather couches strategically placed in front of the front windows to people watch. A good amount of tables are available as well to sample tapas, Apre Ski, discussing the days rugged terrain over one of their signature Martini’s. A long bar is towered by a huge plasma T.V. playing classic black and white movies, while jazzy sounds come through the sound system. The main dining room is intimate with white linen adorned tables, fireplace burning, and a huge fabric covered bench on the right wall. Each table has polished silverware and small square “tapas” plates which our server informed us were to share the small plate offerings amongst ourselves.

Content with the dining ambiance we pursue the menu which is the”Jewel of Seven”. This list of options is billed a Fusion Cuisine done “Tapas” style to share. The menu reads like a journey abroad; Dungeness Crab Maki Rolls with Avocado Carpaccio, General Tso’s Calamari, Salmon Latke’s with Wasabi Bearnaise, Bison, Duck Pasta with Truffle Broth, Lettuce “wrapped” Fried Oysters. We started with a sesame seared tuna tetaki, cooked rare and sliced with an interesting salad of pea & bean sprouts with sesame, soy and “liquid wasabi”. The Wok Fried Calamari came with chopsticks, as we sampled it we were enthralled by it’s sweet and sour elements as well as spicy from charred hot peppers. We also tried the duck breast tapa which was another sweet sauce affair led by a sangria-baby pear reduction. It actually worked quite well as the meatiness of the duck and the sweet sauce were offset by some plain but earthy steamed baby bok choy. Seven also offers large plate entrees, we tried the rack of lamb and local sablefish. The sablefish is actually black cod and it came with an espresso glaze over orange brandy scented cous cous. The lamb rack was close trimmed and cut in chops with creamed leeks, mashed potatoes and a goat cheese stuffed fried “ravioli”. High marks for their short but clever dessert list, “chai” tiramisu, creme brulee with a fresh berry “martini” and molten chocolate bread pudding all stood out.

Seven has some nice options, dinner by the fireplace or appetizers in the lounge. The best part is the the food delivers in flavor and are all presented on over sized square and rectangular platters with some infused oils and contemporary garnishes. Seven is located in Bear Plaza in the Whister Ski Resort. Reservations can be made on line at Sevenwhistler.com or by calling 604.932.4666.
