Selling Your Home - Home Staging For $

Many sellers ask the question, “Why should I stage my house?” Here are a lot of great reasons to put a little pizazz in the appeal of your home, inside and out. Remember, first impressions are so important. Take a look around your home with a buyer’s eye. You want all walls, base boards and doors to be clean. Are there big obstacles in the entry way? Is the entry narrow? If so add a mirror on the right wall to make it look more spacious.

Don’t over fill a room with furniture. Keep photos to a minimum–take them off your refrigerator! Make sure the lawn and front walkways are kept clean and get a new mat for the front door. Put large plants at the end of a room and add coordinated colors to the white rooms. The master bath, bedroom and kitchen should be very eye appealing.

Put a lot of those counter nicknacks in the cupboards. Remember, the outside of your home is very important because it is the first impression when buyers come. You need to make sure that the front of your home is well kept, your lawn should be mowed, and you should find some colorful plants to place in the entryway to attract buyers from the beginning of their visit. There are many other ways to make your home sell faster by doing simple things. Changing even the smallest details in your home can dramatically help to sell your home. Happy Staging!

What Do You Believe?

Here are a few beliefs of some successful people:

1. God is in charge.

2. One’s level of success is directly affected by his or her contribution to others.

3. You can achieve as much as you’re willing to work for.

4. Each relationship is important - you never know where or to whom it will lead.

5. Work on yourself as hard as you work on your day job.

6. Patience wins over impatience.

7. Don’t be afraid to dream big. The bigger the dreams, the greater the success.

8. Your vision of yourself, either positive or negative, will eventually become your reality.

9. Everything that happens, no matter how small, does not occur in a vacuum. It’s placed in your life to be used later as a reference source.

10. You’re sowing many seeds every day. Those seeds will eventually mature and manifest themselves in your life, or the lives of subsequent generations.

11. Your life and some of it’s circumstances are the manifestations of seeds(and prayers) sown by past generations.

12. Having a million dollars doesn’t necessarily make you a millionaire. Before you can become a millionaire in the truest sense, you must first develop a millionaire mindset.

How do your beliefs stack up against these? What do you truly believe in?

Suggestion..place this list beside your bathroom mirror in order to see it the first thing in the morning and perhaps by your beside, so you can read it before going to sleep. Memorize at least 6 of these beliefs and you will be amazed at the changes in your life. Then memorize the remaining 6. Your life will never be the same!!

Are You ‘Using’ The Secret And The Law Of Attraction?

vibrates in waves and that energy is attracted to energy of similar frequency. Knowing this makes it an awful lot easier to tune in to the things you do want in your life and let go of the things you do not.

All this talk about ‘using’ the secret and the Law of Attraction is really about developing your awareness. Your awareness, or consciousness, can be fine-tuned like a radio antenna so that you are a better and more accurate receiver of the frequencies you desire. So rather than having a scrambled signal, or a random one, you become more specific and highly tuned in to the things you do want.

This is what people are really talking about when they refer to ‘using’ the secret; they are encouraging you to develop your awareness antenna and set it to the frequencies you most desire. This is how you become a conscious creator of your own life.

So how do you fine tune your antenna? There are a ton of ways to develop your awareness. Getting clear on what you truly desire is one of the key fundamentals that pretty much every teacher of the Law of Attraction talks about first. Otherwise your awareness dial keeps flicking from one ’station’ to the next - you never really get set to receive something specific.

Using journals, vision boards, and scripting are all ways of getting some focus to start with.

The next stage of tuning your antenna is to eliminate interference, static, or resistance in your frequency. Resistance or interference appears as ‘conflicting intentions’. For example, you may intensely desire something, but wonder why it is not showing up for you. If it is not showing up, there is only one reason: you are sending conflicting signals (vibrations) and there is no clear pattern of energy waves for the universe to respond to. These conflicting signals are otherwise known as ‘conflicting intentions’. This means that even though you desire something intensely, there is something on an emotional level (conscious or subconscious) that is resisting this. It might be fear of the unknown, or maybe achieving the goal might lead to further complications. For example, getting a new job might mean a greater and longer commute with less time with the kids, even though it would bring more money and more prestige. This is a conflicting intention. Therefore no new job appears onteh horizon, despite you intensely desiring it.

Part of the work around the Law of Attraction and becoming a conscious creator is about dissolving these conflicting intentions. Easier said than done. Sometimes it is easy and simply becoming aware of them is enough to dissolve them. However, often these are long-held beliefs and patterns of resistance and more deliberate dissolving techniques are required.

Quality Indoor Teak Furniture - Where to Find Good Workmanship in Java - Indonesia

Teak wood is the most valuable of all timbers, and furniture made of teak can last for several decades. Teak wood is being planted in several countries, e.g. Myanmar, India, Thailand and especially in Indonesia / Java. Java has some of the biggest teak-plantations worldwide, and here, for more than 100 years now, Indonesia’s best teak wood is being processed. The cutback and the sale are regulated by the state-owned Indonesian forest authority, which requires every teak furniture manufacturer in Java to buy only from them.

The number of teak furniture manufacturers in Central Java can only be guessed: locals state that there are 5000-6000 middle-sized and bigger factories, whereas the smaller and smallest ones count for approximately 15.000. The typical middle sized teak furniture manufacturer employs around 20-30 people, who sit together in a big hall and grind, sand, polish and varnish the wood, creating unique furniture pieces with their hands, on average 12 hours per day. They add different colors and finishings to the furniture pieces, from naturally unfinished to nitro-cellulose finishing or melamine finishing.

The quality (that means the grade) of the teak wood varies immensely, since there are seven different quality grades of teak wood: the lower the part of the teak wood tree (the thicker pieces from the trunk), the more solid the furniture and the higher the price.

The manufacturing processing varies as well: some manufacturers leave their furniture unfinished, just grind, with no coloring whatsoever. Some polish it and lacquer it to make it shiny, some leave it bright, some make it dark. There are even examples of really bad processing to find, where they just lime thin and small teak pieces together, and paint it with thick layers to hide the joints.

Yet there are innovations to see in this century-old industry. Some of the manufacturers, just a few, start to process the teak wood in a different way. The distinctiveness of this furniture is the property and condition of the wood: After cutting the teak wood, the surface of the wood will be grind along the grain, to emerge a deeper cut of the grains. In this way the furniture will get a unique, natural and exclusive look. They call it “New Rustic Style”. These “New Rustic Style” factories mainly produce indoor and living furniture, and proud themselves with highest quality (using only grade A wood) and workmanship. Their production and procedural methods are repeatedly checked on site and are subject to constant quality control. Therefore these factories guarantee highest quality as well as first class products.

While the world’s outdoor teak furniture industry offers hundreds of choices, unique and quality indoor teak furniture for the living room, dining room and/or sleeping rooms is hard to find. Only a handful of teak factories in Java are able to produce indoor teak furniture for the world markets. “Teak-Rustique” found its way, combining unique designs with high end workmanship, producing great indoor teak furniture pieces in “New Rustic Style”. Thanks Baby H.

There are babies everywhere in my life. Number of pregnant friends: 3. Number of friends who have given birth this year: 3. Number of babies born to friends to date: 14. Number of friends on baby-making duty: at least 3 that I know of. Conception and birth is a complex and miraculous phenomenon. The fact that so many are born healthy is astounding almost beyond belief.

Not all births have this happy-ending. Sometimes things go wrong, like it did for my friends just a few weeks ago. Their baby was born with a serious heart defect. She passed away peacefully a few short hours after her delivery.

No one understands really how one child is born healthy and another dies crippled by the vicissitudes of nature.

What lesson or gift can we find in the death of a baby? There seems no rhyme or reason for it, such is the depth of grief and incomprehension with the death of a newborn child.

And yet we see something miraculous and precious in grief. This little bundle of cells, misshapen and unviable, is loved so deeply and so profoundly by its parents that they know she is perfect in every way, even if her body does not comply with the laws of physics and biology.

This is the gift we find in grief: the parents’ love of a little thing that will never speak, never see, and lived only a few hours. Their love is profound, eternal, without judgement, and filled with a faith and gratitude that inspires and transcends.

Even in the deep grief that they feel, they are so grateful for sharing the experience of their daughter’s brief life. It revealed to them personally the miracle of life: this energy is a strong pulse that vibrates through all physical beings. It creates physical form as a temporary holding place for the spirit. As the spirit is eternal, it matters not the brevity of the physical experience, only that it was profound.

This little child passed but briefly through physical form but she opened up the hearts and minds of those she touched to the great giant ocean of abundance and love of which this universe is made. Those who know of her passing have opened their hearts to the miracles in their own lives. She opened the tap of love and gratitude to those who heard her heart-wrenching story.

Though her breaths were few on this planet, that child felt deep love from her parents, and her parents were filled to bursting with love and pride in the little life they helped bring in to the world. It is an exquisite and pure emotion of the highest vibration.

We all have this kind of love within us. We can feel it any time – we do not need a birth or a death to remind us of the precious miracle of life and good fortune we have to experience its wonders. It is only that sometimes we shut ourselves off from the source of this love. Our petty fears, doubts, and worries creep over us. As we shrink with these lowly feelings, we imagine ourselves isolated and small. We weep and lament and pinch off the flow of love and life. We forget that we are all connected – plants, trees, animals, bugs, humans, stars – we are all part and parcel of the same wonderful universe. We need only open our hearts to it, like we did when a little girl died.

So for this I am grateful – the life and death of a little girl and the love she showed us all in her brief visit to our precious planet.

Avoiding Foreclosure

Avoid Real Estate Foreclosure! Unfortunately foreclosure is something that happens to good people everyday. This happens when your lender or bank forces the sale of your property because you have defaulted on the mortgage. There is nothing fun about being in foreclosure; it puts undo stress on your life, family, and finances. If you can avoid foreclosure do so, however sometimes it’s not an easy thing to do.

If foreclosure is knocking on your doorstep, the first thing you should do to help avoid it is to contact your lender or bank as soon as possible. By contacting them in advance and advising them of your financial situation, they will try and do everything they can to help you out.

As stated above lenders and banks will do what they can to help you avoid defaulting on your mortgage, they do not want to foreclose on you Why? Banks don’t like to lose money! First off if they foreclose on your property the mortgage is not getting paid back. Once they do foreclose they have to take on the task of trying to resell your home. In a good sellers market this might not be as big of a deal, but in a market that is a bit cooler, the mortgage lender may have to hold the property for a few months. Banks and Lenders are in the business to lend money and make money not to sell real estate. There might not be anything they can do to help you, but in most cases they can work out a new payment schedule or payment terms. It is worth asking about!

You can help yourself avoid foreclosure if you jump on it right away. Procrastination and thinking things will get better over time is a mistake most people make when they are in this situation. The longer you wait to contact your lender or bank the deeper of a hole you will be in. It is important to contact your lender or bank at the first signs of trouble.

Honda’s Frustrations at Bahrain Grand Prix

The 15th of April is the day that the 2007 Bahrain Grand Prix was held at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, Bahrain. The race is the third round of the 2007 Formula One season and it is also where team Honda suffered a frustrating race with only one driver making it to the checkered flag.

This year’s Bahrain Grand Prix was won by the Brazilian Felipe Massa who was driving for the Scuderia Ferrari. Podium finishers include the rookie Lewis Hamilton driving for McLaren Mercedes at second, and Finn Kimi Raikkonen driving for Ferrari in third place. After the race in Bahrain, Hamilton set a record by becoming the first Formula One driver to ever have achieved podium finishes on his first three races as a Formula One driver.

While Ferrari and McLaren Mercedes are enjoying success at the 2007 Formula One season, team Honda is currently suffering a frustrating start to the 2007 season.

During the 2007 Bahrain Grand Prix, a four-vehicle accident eliminated Honda’s Jenson Button from the contention. After the said accident which involved David Coulthard, Adrian Sutil, Scott Speed and Button, Honda faced the fact that they have only a car remaining in the race. At the opening lap of the race, Jenson Button accidentally hit the back of David Coulthard’s car. After that, his car’s anti-stall mechanism failed stopping the engine which forces Button to retire during the early stage of the race. Honda’s other driver is former Ferrari driver Rubens Barrichello.

After the Honda bumper or the nose of the Barrichello’s F1 car crossed the finish line, the team only managed to grab a 13th place finish at the race. The savvy veteran used a two-stop strategy during the race which saw him battling it out in the tracks with Ralf Schumacher. His subsequent finish allowed Honda technicians to gather date concerning his and Button’s cars. The data gathered will be used by the team’s engineers to improve their performance on the next race of the season.

After the race, Rubens Barrichello has this to say about his performance and what he thinks the future holds for the team: “Well I finished the race at least but that s very little consolation. The track conditions were so blustery and the car driveability was terrible, so it was a really tough race, especially knowing that we couldn’t be competitive. Now we have to put a disappointing few races behind us and look to what we can do to improve the car. There is a great deal of hard work ahead of us but we will get there, I m sure.”

As far as his performance and early exit, Jenson Button has this to say: “Got a good start and made up at least three places then at turn 2 Taku (Sato) ran wide, tried to squeeze me and I had nowhere to go so I had to go on the dirt on the inside. Then in turn 3 I had Coulthard and someone else fighting around me. DC went wide then cut back sharp and again I had nowhere to go. We touched and that spun me round then the anti-stall didn’t cut in, I stalled and that was the end of my race after just three corners.”

“The track conditions out there were very slippery and windy so it will have been a tough race for everyone,” Button says of the track. “Sadly, I wasn’t part of it,” lamented Button.

After the 2007 Bahrain Grand Prix, the teams will have a four-week break before the next race, the 2007 Spanish Grand Prix. Honda will be using that time improves their car’s performance which they hope will earn them a podium finish at the next race.

On the 13th of May, the team’s engineer’s efforts to improve Button’s and Barrichello’s cars will be put to the ultimate test as they battle with Spanish Fernando Alonso of McLaren and the rest of the Formula One roster.

Cho Seung-Hui vs Gun Control

Cho Seung-Hui, vs. Gun Control

All the gun control people are going to run on this one I suppose, let it rest, I do not see any room for an argument here. A non American shot a lot of people perhaps with two guns; guns he got legally, and had he not got them, the old story goes, he would have anyhow. But the other side of the story is also is worth looking at, seldom brought out too, had some of the students guns of their own, the story might be a little different today. I am from Minnesota, and have a Permit to carry a gun, and in most cases I feel safer with it than not. And when in a store, I’m sure the robber doesn’t know who has a gun and who doesn’t in Minnesota, and so he has to guess, but once you put gun control into the issue to the point of restricting it to mostly law enforcement, the bad guy knows he has no competition, he is free to do as he pleases.

I also have a license to carry in Peru. I took a psychological test, and a shooting test, and a three day background test, and was given one. And again, with my ailments, I’m glad I got one, because it would be hard for me to defend myself otherwise, nowadays. The robber picks on women, old folks, and those a tinge lame, he or she does not fool around with the strong and able, and gun totting fellow; the same thing for dug addicts. This is a very sad case, happening of course, and will take long to heal for the families involved, and I am sad for them. Not sure if there is really an understanding to all this killing, people want to analyze it. Anger out of control, is often displaced. And anger will come out one way or another; fortunately, there were signs, but unfortunately, nobody paid much attention to them except a teacher that could do little about it. In this case, the killer had too many rights, with out responsibility to balance them. A psychological test would have helped prior to purchasing those guns, and a three day wait to review the sale (in Peru, the even keep your gun under lock and key until the test is reviewed, and the score in the shooting is complete). I guess I don’t call that gun control, simply normal precautions, like getting a drivers license, you just don’t get it when you apply for it, there is a process. No man or woman should be denied a gun, if indeed he shows a pattern of cooperation and responsibility, and pass the tests (our 2nd Amendment says so).

Why Email Matters - The Science Behind the US Attorney Scandal

Email is more and more in the news these days, is near the center of the current US Attorney firing scandal, and for good reason. A substantial amount of communication flows via email, which can be an efficient form of communicating memos and other intercourse. Email is nearly instantaneous, costs almost nothing, and has in large part replaced the paper memo. Email provides for a path of inquiry that previously was unavailable to investigators for a paper document can be shredded or burned while email leaves a trail even when deleted. Furthermore, unlike a piece of paper, the email itself reveals who sent it and who received it, when and where. As Senator Patrick Leahy says (quoted by Michael Abramowitz on April 14, 2007 in 4 years of Rove e-mails are missing, GOP admits) “You can’t erase e-mails, not today…They’ve gone through too many servers. Those e-mails are there –“ There are primarily three kinds of email in common use. One is the email client program, a genre that includes Microsoft Outlook Express, Mozilla Thunderbird, Macintosh Mail, and Netscape Mail. The second type is the prevalent Microsoft Outlook, a very different program from the same company’s Outlook Express. The third is commonly known as web mail or Internet mail.

Email client programs store data mostly in text form - words people understand, as distinct from cryptic computer language. In general, all of the individual emails in a single mailbox (such as the “In’ or “Sent” mailboxes) are stored together as a single file.

When mail is deleted, it is truncated from the mailbox file, but its data is not actually removed from the computer at this point. Each file has an entry in an index that is something like a table of contents. When an entire mailbox is deleted, part of its entry the file index is removed, but the actual body of the file does not disappear from the computer. The area on the computer’s hard disk that holds the file gets marked as available to be reused, but the file’s contents may not get overwritten, and hence may be recoverable for some time, if at all.

The computer forensics specialist may then search the ostensibly unused portion of the computer for text that may have been part of an email. The expert can look for names, phrases, places, or actions that might have been mentioned in an email. The email contains internal data that tells where it has been and who it has been to.

For instance, I just sent my wife a 17-word message entitled, “Where’s this email from?” She replied, “Darling, Surely you must mean, “From where is this email?” Love, Your grammatically correct wife.” - 15 word reply. Yet when I look underneath what is displayed on the screen, I see the email actually contained 246 words. Where did it all come from?

The extra information included a return path with my beloved’s America Online (AOL) email address, her computer’s IP address (“IP” stands for Internet Protocol” - every computer that is hooked up to a network has an IP address), the IP addresses of three other computers, both email addresses repeated another three times each, the names of three or four mail servers, and four date / time stamps. Oh, and lest I forget, there’s an ad for AOL at the end.

If I forwarded or copied the email, it would have more information, most notably the email addresses of the other people to whom I copied or forwarded the message.

By looking at the IP addresses and doing a little more investigation, I could tell the approximate physical location of the computer with the given IP addresses. I could see who else was involved in the string of communication, and approximately where they were.

In an investigation, if a judge saw the multiple email addresses indicating that these other people might be involved, and that the original party was not forthcoming with all of the information requested, the judge might then allow all of the other computers accessible to all of the other email addresses to be inspected. Then the great fishing expedition could begin in officially sanctioned earnest.

Thus we read such headlines as this one seen on the ThinkProgress website on April 12, 2007: White House Originally Claimed RNC Emails Were Archived, Only ‘Handful’ Of Staffers Had Accounts. In a press conference, White House Deputy Press Secretary Dana Perino said that just a handful of White House staffers had RNC (Republican National Committee) email addresses. It may have been in the face of the inevitable discovery, that the White House was forced to admit that more than 50 top officials (from Officials’ e-mails may be missing, White House says - Los Angeles Times April 12, 2007) had such RNC email addresses – that’s 10 handfuls by most counts.

In his article Follow the e-mails on Salon.com Sidney Blumenthal says, “The offshoring of White House records via RNC e-mails became apparent when an RNC domain, gwb43.com (referring to George W. Bush, 43rd president), turned up in a batch of e-mails the White House gave to House and Senate committees earlier this month. Rove’s deputy, Scott Jennings, former Bush legal counsel Harriet Miers and her deputies strangely had used gwb43.com as an e-mail domain. The production of these e-mails to Congress was a kind of slip.” Indeed. This is exactly the kind of information that computer forensics experts like to have to assist in their process of electronic discovery. In my own e-discovery work, I have found more than a half million unexpected references on a single computer.

Investigators may now be able to search the computers at the RNC, in the White House, and at the locations that host computers for both, as well as those laptops and Blackberries used by staffers of these organizations. The search will be on for any occurrence of “gwb43” – a search that is likely to turn up more email addresses and more email, whether deleted or not.

I have mentioned three types of email at the beginning of this article but only talked about the one that has the most promise for turning up deleted data. The second type is

represented by Microsoft Outlook. Outlook stores data all in one encrypted file on a user’s computer, on a mail server or on both, depending upon the configuration of the mail server. All mailboxes are in the same encrypted file. Computer forensics specialists have tools to allow the decoding of this file in a fashion that can often bring back many or all of the deleted emails. The email server may also have backups of the users’ mail.

Web mail, where the mail is stored on a remote server (such as on AOL’s large farm of mail servers) may leave little or nothing stored on the user’s own computer. Here the user is essentially looking at a web page that is displaying mail. Such mail servers are so dynamic that any deleted email is likely to have been overwritten in a matter of minutes. Blumenthal references the advantages that such systems may have for those who wish to hide information in Follow the e-mails thus: “As a result, many aides have shifted to Internet E-mail instead of the White House system. ‘It’s Yahoo!, baby,’ says a Bushie.””

On the other hand, while such email content may be hard to find once deleted, logs of access to the email accounts are likely to be retained for quite a long time and may be of some use in an investigation.

The upshot is that, unlike paper documents, email may be widely broadcast, even by accident. Also unlike paper, when shredded, it is likely that copies exist elsewhere; to paraphrase Senator Leahy, electronic data can be near immortal. A further difference is that email contains data that tells who drafted it, when, and where it went. The current US Attorney scandal has shown us once again that email is not only a valuable tool for communication, but has the benefit (or detriment, depending on your perspective) of providing some additional transparency to the otherwise closed rooms of our leaders.

Grounded Leadership- Are You a Grounded Leader?

On ground means a person is coming across to me as telling their own truth. When someone is on ground, I get it. There is little point in arguing with them. I can respond to them and state my truth. I can state a different opinion. I can state a different way to look at it. But forget arguing with their truth. It comes across so clearly that I feel the strength of their convictions. Off ground means that something is amiss. They seem to be saying something that is off base for them. Let’s look at a parent, a politician, and a leader.

Consider a parent: What difference does all this make? As a step-mother, my 16-year-old step-son will more easily drop his strategically, logical argument when I am grounded. Since I was clear out loud, that conversation went relatively quickly. I stated my truth. I showed empathy for what he wanted. I acknowledged his concern. I expressed understanding that he thought he was making a reasonable request. I let him know that he may see it from a different perspective than I did and thus he may not understand my answer. Shortly after that the conversation ended. Right or wrong, I was grounded in my answer.

Look at a politician: How many times do we look at politicians and think they are lacking credibility? It really happens when they are off ground. We often interpret off ground as slimy. There is something slightly off from what that person’s truth is. Sometimes it can be seen in a person’s movements. Those movements can be distracting. The movements may even evoke questions in the mind of the listener. The off groundedness reverberates through the message. Perhaps they are saying what they think we want to hear to get elected. Perhaps they are parroting someone else’s words. Whatever it is, it comes across as something other than the truth. Then where do our minds go? Does the politician want to manipulate us? What will happen when that person is in office? Can that person be trusted? Off ground can be as powerfully negative as on ground can be positive.

Reflect on a leader: Strong leaders have strong ground. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a strong leader. People may have challenged his beliefs, but not that he believed them. He stated poignantly what he believed. People followed. I believe people followed him because he was on ground. They could count on what he believed. He was consistent. He spoke his truth. Therefore, they could count on what he would say. They were willing to follow him, because they felt they could trust him.

And you? Are you on ground? Do you know your truth? Do you know how to find your truth? If you know and speak your truth, you will greatly increase the odds of people following you. You will be on ground. If you are, you have one important and critical aspect of a true leader.

Caron MacLane is a step parent who believes in speaking her truth. She fosters being on ground and other leadership characteristics through life coaching, training, and ski teaching. Contact Caron through her web site at http://www.CoachCaron.com
