End-User Programming Using the Semantic Web

This article outlines future research that is required for the advancement of representation, search, and visualization of information, and at recent and future developments in the use and representation of taxonomies and ontologies, and visualization tools that can aid in their use. Berners-Lee et al (2006) explain the importance of visualization for navigation of information “Despite excitement about the Semantic Web, most of the world’s data are locked in large data stores and are not published as an open Web of inter-referring resources. As a result, the reuse of information has been limited. Substantial research challenges arise in changing this situation: how to effectively query an unbounded Web of linked information repositories, how to align and map between different data models, and how to visualize and navigate the huge connected graph of information that results.”

A new approach is required to software creation. This approach should involve developers creating software systems that enable users to perform high level programming, and model the problem for which they are the experts. This is an alternative to the provision by developers of modelling solutions that try to provide an out of the box solution that just needs ‘tweaking’. Such an out of the box system is impractical considering both increases in complexity of manufactured products, and of software systems themselves. Cheung (2005) writes “there is no single management tool or data exchange format that can satisfy all requirements and overcome all the obstacles involved within a collaborative product development environment”. People like to work on their own solutions providing they are computer literate and confident they have domain knowledge that the developers do not possess. Research cited here from others involved in end-user programming seems to confirm this.

Research in the use and visualization of Semantic Web information provides the tools that end-user programmers have been lacking until recently. Cheung (2005) explains that “With the development of user-friendly ontology editing software and automatic data exchange functions, the application of ontological approaches to exchange information across the WWW is most likely to be an essential aspect of the next generation of global knowledge management tools.

Horrocks (2002) explains the advantages of moving towards a more formal ontology. This can provide for a new way of enabling end-user programming - with the user editing interactive diagrams. In terms of automated model generation, labelling relationships between objects allows the depiction of a number of aspects of a domain in one model, and with a consistent syntax. Ciocoiu et al (2000) explain how an engineering ontology can be made more rigorous in order to facilitate interoperability. This allows representation of, say, a product structure and its manufacturing processes together. A single node then is the only representation of that node within the model, with all its relationships depicted as arcs emanating/terminating at the node. More expressive semantic descriptions are possible through the use of one of the standard OWL dialects. Protege has OWL plug-ins available that provide this functionality, together with links to reasoning tools for maintaining and analysing the logical constructs (Storey et al, 2004) and (Elenius, 2005). The University of Victoria Computer-Human Interaction and Software Engineering lab (CHISEL) (2006) has developed Jambalaya (Ernst et al, 2003) for visualization of knowledge and relationships. Ernst et al explain that the “larger ontologies that are being developed quickly exhaust human capacity for conceptualizing them in their entirety”, so the visualization tools must assist the user to view the information they need. Researchers at the University of Queensland Australia have developed a hyperbolic browser to display RDF files, this is explained in Eklund et al (2002). Cheung et al (2005) provide an ontology editor for knowledge sharing in manufacturing.

It is also important not to stay limited on one ontology development environment but instead explore how ontologies can be developed using a range of development tools and translated between each where necessary (Garcia-Castro and Gomez-Perez, 2006) are testing this. An important new development is SWRL a Semantic Web Rule Language Combining OWL and RuleML and its use in modelling. This could be of use for formally specifying the construction of equations and rules in a model and the relationships and constraints between items represented in an equation. Miller and Baramidze (2005), Horrocks et al (2003), and Zhang (2005) explain the SWRL language. Horrocks et al talk of defining properties as general rules over other properties and of defining operations on datatypes, this research could assist in providing a visual rule and equation editor. An editing facility to model these equations and constraints, so that errors could be prevented, would improve the usability of future visual modelling systems. Support for SWRL in Protege (Miller and Baramidze, 2005) will assist with the construction of a modelling system with sophisticated editing of rules.

A future task to be undertaken would be the inclusion of uncertainty in the automatically produced models, for situations where accurate information cannot be provided for the model. This would require provision of a way of handling uncertainty for parameters within the ontology, e.g. as 3 values describing a triangular distribution rather than a unique absolute value. The decision support meta-program could be expanded to write out the code to run Monte-Carlo sampling, hence making use of the statistical uncertainty capability. Miller and Baramidze (2005) examine efforts to develop mathematical semantic representations above the syntactical representations of MathML. this effort should make it possible for standardisation of representation of mathematical expressions that relate nodes, and their values and expressions, to each other. Constraints could then be added to prevent invalid mathematical expressions. Miller and Baramidze also explain their research in Discrete-Event Modelling Ontology (DeMO) for simulation and modelling. This uses OWL to define a simulation and modelling class hierarchy. It would be very useful to create an example to demonstrate this with a practical model to test the use of this ontology.

It would be interesting and useful to create an environment where people could use example models and evaluate their usability and usefulness. This could follow a similar model to that used for the development of open source software or collaborations such as Wikipedia (2007), and the Semantic Web Environmental directory SWED (2006). Testing of usability for collaboration is complex and (Johnson et al, 2003) explain how this requires interdisciplinary expertise from several fields. Semantic Web research also requires an interdisciplinary approach as explained by Berners-Lee et al “Understanding and fostering the growth of the World Wide Web, both in engineering and societal terms, will require the development of a new interdisciplinary field.” A project such as this can bring together people with diverse backgrounds, interests and expertise. Cheung et al (2007) make the point that open source development can avoid vendor lock-in, eliminate unnecessary complexity, give freedom to modify applications, and provide platform and application independence. Johnson (2004) has developed more sophisticated ways of understanding and providing for complex human activity and testing the success of this.

It could be possible to extend the semantics used in the specification of models to allow the creation of a framework for simulations. Lacy and Gerber (2004) examine how OWL can be used to aid modelling and simulation. Because the ontology uses open standards, these simulations could be made broadly available on the web. It is important that the necessary infrastructure is created to allow this facility to be added. The approaches of others to this problem have been examined. Page (1998), Page et al (2000) and Page and Opper (2000) examine the nature of web-based simulations. Miller et al (2001) explain the technology behind web-based simulations, and argue the need for demonstrating the application of web-based simulations for major projects. Fishwick and Miller (2004) examine the use of ontologies for modelling and simulation. The authors were involved in the RUBE project that developed a system for battle simulations, illustrated in Fishwick and Miller (2004). The RUBE project uses open standards and Protege for the ontology, and outputs some code automatically. Kuljis and Paul (2001) evaluate progress in this field of web simulation. They argue the need for web-based simulations to be focussed on solving real-world problems in order to be successful. Kim et al (2002) explain how techniques of generating executable code from documents specified in standardised XML can be used to create simulations.

Reed et al (2000) examine possibilities for improving the aircraft design process with web-based modelling and simulation. Simulations could also be used for optimization and Chen and Yücesan (2001) investigate this. So web based simulation is an area of research worth exploring. The use of process models can allow accurate manufacturing times to be generated. This requires dynamic models of factories, cells and processes. Also it is necessary for users of a system to be able to gather information from various computer systems such as databases and spreadsheets. There is a conflict between the aim to develop an ideal representation of knowledge using an ontology editor, and the practical need to edit the data in the database or application it is currently held in. The research examined has undertaken so far, prototypes ways of creating information and of finding it. Other researchers such as Aragones et al, (2006) and Crapo et al (2000) and (2002) have also investigated this problem.

Shim et al (2006) discuss user interface issues for this kind of problem, they investigate techniques for “powerful, yet simple user interface designs that enable interactive queries, reporting, and graphing functions”. They also examine end user computing history - “The evolution of the human-computer interface is the evolution of computing. The graphical user interface (GUI) that was refined at Xerox, popularized by Macintosh, and later incorporated into Windows”. Recent developments in the use of Meta languages for platform independence should make the development of end-user programming quicker and easier. Bishop (2006) explains current problems “The current practice is for GUIs to be specified by creating objects, calling methods to place them in the correct places in a window, and then linking them to code that will process any actions required. If hand-coded, such a process is tedious and error-prone; if a builder or designer program is used, hundreds of lines of code are generated and incorporated into one’s program, often labeled ‘do not touch’. Either approach violates the software engineering principles of efficiency and maintainability.” The author investigates, evaluates and advocates the use of platform independent programming languages.

The solution to these problems involves programming with Semantic Web languages rather than just using them for information representation. This will make translation for interoperability easier and more reliable, and further improve the maintainability of software systems.

I am a Researcher in the final year of my PhD. I specialise in applying Semantic Web techniques. My current research is on a technique of ‘User Driven Modelling/Programming’. My intention is to enable non-programmers to create software from a user interface that allows them to model a particular problem or scenario. This involves a user entering information visually in the form of a tree diagram. I am attempting to develop ways of automatically translating this information into program code in a variety of computer languages. This is very important and useful for many employees that have insufficient time to learn programming languages. I am looking to research visualisation, and visualisation techniques to create a human computer interface that allows non experts to create software.

I am interested in End User Programming through the Semantic Web and Visualization.

Why Does God Allow Suffering?

The dictionary explanation

“why” (hwi, wi) Pronunciation Key
adv. For what purpose, reason, or cause; with what intention, justification, or motive, The cause or intention underlying a given action or situation:

Sometimes that is one of the most painful questions of all.

A battle in a war-torn country, women and children killed and buried in a mass grave, the grave surrounded by markers which bore the inscription “Why?”

Disasters, disease, and crime, each destroys our homes, family units, in fact whole civilizations, bringing untold suffering to the masses.Everyone touched by these tragedies want to know why these things befall them.

So why does God allow the suffering?

I mean to say he is powerful, loving, wise, and just. Yet the world we live in, is so full of hatred and injustice. The bible, Gods word teaches that “he cares for us, and that God hates wickedness and the suffering it causes far more than any, who has the gift of life through gods loving kindness.(Isaiah 55:8,9)

Common responses, I am sure many have heard is “Its Gods will”, that everything that would happen, including tragic events, have all been predetermined by him long before we existed. How about “God works in mysterious ways” or “He brings death upon people - even children - so as to have them in heaven with him.”

But “far be it from the true god, to act wickedly, and the almighty act unjustly!”(Job 34:10)

The things I have heard over the years, the answers that many religions,in my years of searching have for better word of it,”spat” out of their mouths, with very little thought of what they are saying.

The most important thing, especially in religion is to not be taken away with the hype, the emotions and feelings of the heart. For as the bible says” the heart is treacherous, who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)

An absolute must, is to scrutinize everything you learn, keeping your head, so as to ask the questions necessary, to make a decision based on scriptural facts.

But I digress, do you want to know why people blame God for the suffering in this world? In many cases, those that blame god, think that he is the real ruler of this world. But they miss simple but important truth that the bible teaches, and that is the real ruler the world is Satan.

Now before you stop reading, due the fact that you no longer wish to read this blasphemous article, use the very thing god gave you, think about it, it makes sense. The world is only reflecting the one who rules it, of the very personality that is misleading the entire inhabited earth.(Revelation 12:9)
It says in (1John 5:19) “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.”

Satan is the epitome of all that is evil, he is hateful, deceitful, and cruel. The world under his influence, is all these things.
One reason why there is so much suffering.

The second reason why there is so much suffering, is that mankind is imperfect, sinful since the rebellion in the garden of Eden. Its no big secret that we as humans tend to struggle for dominance, resulting in wars, oppression and suffering.(Ecclesiastes 4:1;8:9)

There is also “Time and unforeseen occurrence” (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
Without God as a protective ruler, people may suffer, because they happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Still why does he allow the suffering?
God is more than capable of stopping it. So why?
Why does he hold back?

Step 8 - Made List of Persons We Harmed and Became Willing to Make Amends to Them All

Step 8 Made a list of persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all. This is step eight as used by Alcoholics anonymous (AA) Narcotics anonymous (NA) Al-anon Cocaine anonymous (CA) Gamblers anonymous (GA) Emotions anonymous (EA) Sex and Love addicts (SALA) anonymous Co dependents anonymous (CODA) Overeaters anonymous (OA) recovery programs.

Step eight.

Made a list of persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.

The list in a sense was already part written, because those persons were on my resentment list and my guilt list from step 4.

I wrote down a list of all, not just the ones who I thought it would be easy to approach, but all. To the best of my ability I wrote my list and I also wrote why I should make amends to them. With the exception of sexual abuse, every person that I resented, every person who I had harmed, I had done myself in one way or another. I have never sexually abused anyone. It was strange. The man who raped me when I was a boy kept coming into my mind. I realised that if I wanted people to forgive me, then I had to forgive!. I don’t know where that man is or whether he is still alive, but I forgive him. What did Jesus say?, “Let he who has not sinned, cast the first stone”, not “Let he who has not committed the same sin as him, cast the first stone”.

A sin is a sin. I am no better than anyone else, forgiveness sets people free, arrogance and a sense of being cruelly treated cause pain, friction, etc!.

Well, my list was long, I went back to Dave and we talked it through, who I should physically approach, who I should write to, and those who I would be willing to make amends to. Willing, well I was involved in serious crime, if I went to these institutes I would end up in prison!. So, I became willing.

The people I had inflicted my will, my violence, my arrogance, my selfishness my jealousy, my envy, my lust, my greed, my dishonesty, my pride, my self pity etc.

see http://www.the12steps.com

I had beaten a man up and this tortured me because he was not the usual gangster type character that I associated with!. He got on the wrong side of me over a petty argument and I went berserk and became violent, which led to him being hospitalised!. I would, when driving around Liverpool, avoid where he lived because I did not want to see him, because of the guilt it would trigger if I saw him!.

I could see the value of this step in short, say your sorry, ask for forgiveness and try not to do it again, and live a blameless life!.

It would be a waste of time making amends and then going out and doing the same things that lead to friction, resentment or violence.

So again, I set about learning to practice opposites. The road to freedom where I could look the world in the eye, knowing I had tried my best to clear the wreckage of the past.

In doing that, it makes the character stronger. It is not a weak thing to see that you are the problem, but it is a great strength. In reality, I can really only change myself. To know you are trying your best to bring about peace.

When I finished my list, I wrote the plan of action, who I would approach and when. I had stolen, so I paid money to charities to help drill water wells in India. I also sponsored 2 children in the third world by paying a monthly sum, so they could be helped in various ways.

Sure, I was nervous about approaching people, but I did it. I was never once made to feel guilty by anyone I made amends to!

The other side is that it gives people faith knowing people do care. I would ask you to think about that step if you want people to forgive you for the way you have treated them. Then you have to forgive people for the way they have treated you!

I did not know I had defects of character, I only found out after doing my inventory. Now, if people are not on a 12 step programme how are they ever going to change, so you have to understand that you have changed but don’t expect everyone to start thinking and reacting the way you do now, now that you are on a spiritual path.

Soldier Billy is the name I am known by in the 12 step fellowships I belong to. I am a recovering alcoholic and addict. I owe my life to the 12 step recovery program. I have been through some very tough times of late and I have not relapsed back into addiction thanks to the help of the 12 steps and some great members of the fellowships I belong to!
I have lived a tough life amd know heartache. The 12 steps has helped me to rebuild my life and find peace of mind.

Discover The Different Types Of Computer Services For Business And Home Users

There are many different types of services for your computer. The term computer services does not refer only to computer services like maintenance.

With so many individuals and companies in need of computer repair service, these businesses are thriving. But as somebody who is searching for a computer repair service you need to know what to look for. Do not trust too much that a new hard drive will give years of trouble free service. Lulled into a sense of security and ignoring the good advice to backup their data, they find themselves with a computer that has stopped functioning and in need of professional data recovery services. You can use Dial Up Internet Service that you can take with you when you travel.

A new online calendar service solves the problem of forgotten appointments, even if those events are in a PDA or computer calendar program. The service automatically calls with a voice reminder. iPod users who lose their computer music due to a crash can have the music on their iPod restored to their computer. In-home service is immediately available nationwide.

Cd duplication service, messengers for live chat and many more are all computer services.

Most people have more than one computer in their home and it is becoming absolutely essential to having all those computers hooked up to the internet. A wireless home network can get all the computers in your home connected to the internet plus much more. Today, most people either buy their computers off the shelf or online prepackaged. Most of these computers usually come with a few options to accessorize but are not geared towards the individual that needs super high performance.

You can now talk to your friends and relatives overseas for free using some simple software available on the internet. You should have a broadband internet connection for the best call quality, but it is possible to make calls over a dial up connection. When you use your computer, you are communicating on an IP network that is sending and receiving all Internet traffic. Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) uses this same network to send its packets of voice data when you make a call from your computer to either another computer or a land line.

The Windows Indexing Service provides you with the ability to perform advanced searches on directories located on your computer and on shared directories on the network. The Indexing Service was introduced with IIS (Internet Information Services) and is now installed with Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

If you are looking for even more entertainment options for your computer, you can now add television to this mix. Television shows can now be seen either live or prerecorded with special internet services directly on your computer screen. Advancement in computer technology continues to grow. It seems that as soon as you understand and become comfortable with particular software and/or service a new and improved version appears on the horizon of technology.

Business:

As a computer service company manager, it is your job to motivate your employees. You need to be familiar with the many motivational strategies in order to assure your computer service company runs smoothly. In the computer service business you will have to recruit employees both at the business start-up and throughout the life of the business.

It seems that everyone is offering computer service agreements. Most IT consulting firms are capable of telling you what you need for your company, but not so many can actually combine expertise and hands-on training with invaluable diagnostic tools and speedy service all at prices your company can afford. In addition to knowing your skills and being moderately qualified, keep an eye on the size of companies you want to target for IT service agreements.

Some clients are simply not the right type for IT service contracts.

As a computer consulting business, you should not be spending precious time and your clients limited budgets troubleshooting a malfunctioning monitor or CD-RW drive.

Computer services are both for personal and business use and these services are now becoming easier for everyone worldwide. Computer services are very important and since need for them are increasing more businesses open to serve these needs and wants.

Is Travel Insurance Penalising the Over 65’s?

Recent research has shown that the average 65 year old will face a huge premium rise when they reach 66. Worse still, once over the age of 70 a similar leap in price can be expected according to moneysupermarket.com.

Insurance companies express the shared opinion that this is due to pre-existing health problems being an important factor.

Because of this, it is becoming increasingly difficult for those belonging to the over 65’s age group to find a cheap policy. This can be seen to be due to the fact that, like any insurance policy, it is a matter of risk assessment. Physically a person of this age is more likely to have a health condition or develop one during the length of cover and so a higher policy price is inversely created.

An increasing problem seen in relation to this is the ability of some travel insurance brokers to supply policies without gathering enough relevant information. This can allow pre-existing health factors to be overlooked on drawing up the policy and leave a claimant wide open when this is discovered at a later date. Thus, this pushes the prices of the average 65 and over policy continuously up, making it harder and harder to find cheap travel insurance.

This can be particularly relevant as certain companies offer “one size fit’s all” type policies with a standard price and coverage.

To conclude, I would say it is important when applying for holiday insurance to be as honest as possible and give all relevant information to the company. Specify any existing health problems so they do not create a loop hole at a later date and notify the policy issuer of any changes during the life of the policy. Avoid purchasing a package in a retail environment that is not generally tailored to travel and may not be able to supply the help and advice you may need.

A good deal can still be had, but a little more time and effort may be required to find it.

The price of holiday insurance for the over 65’s can be seen as prohibitive, but, cheap travel insurance can still be found if a little time and effort is spent supplying the correct details.s

Fat Loss, A Poem

FAT LOSS - “Kiss Your Butt Goodbye”

This is a loss I will accept

goodbye to fat without regret

turns out all is not okay,

as I heard a voice in the distance say,

“hey you!, yah you, where’s our wiggle,

we don’t bounce, sag, or jiggle!”

“Who’s that” I asked completely shocked,

“down here”, it said, “can you hear me talk?,

I do much better when I strut,

nice to meet you, I’m your butt”

“WHAT!” I screamed “Butt’s don’t talk”,

“oh sure” it said, “I don’t just walk!

Where’s our fat, it keeps us warm,

we were big and shaggy and in top-form,”

“Um, excuse-me please”, I blurted out,

“our fat had to go, so don’t freak-out!,

I was getting tired, really worn-out,

so now I eat healthy and work-out,

No offense, but less of you looks better,

I don’t have to cover you up with my sweater,

Wiggling to the world in these tight jeans

is what my fat loss really means”

“you’re pretty shallow”, stated my butt,

I said, “dude, just do what you do best

Let’s strut!”

Wishing you well,

The Truth Exposed About Individual Retirement Account

While preparing for a big tournament, no matter what it is, you will spend many hours planning and preparing. If it is a physical sporting type of event, you will train and work out extra hard. If it is more in the thinking category, you may study and work your brain in memorizing. An individual retirement account is much the same. You will need to plan and prepare for your future. There are things about the planning that you should consider much the same way as preparing for that big tournament. You want to come out a winner and not a loser. If you don’t put some effort and time in it, you will not be victorious in the end. This article will expose the truth about what an individual retirement account is for and some things to consider when you are in the planning stages.

We need to be training up our young people in the importance of an individual retirement account. I can remember thinking in high school that I hope my parents live long enough to see me married and have children. My parents weren’t that old, but to me at the time it seemed they were. Maybe as people are living longer lives this might not be so with young people, but I know it is with grandchildren because my own have said things to me that reminded me of what I used to think. Now is the time to get them thinking of college and their own futures, and an individual retirement account can and should begin at a young age.

Some things to consider when planning an individual retirement account is how much money it will have acquired at the age of retirement. This will help you in determining if this retirement fund will be enough for you to live on at that age. You will need to look into the future and set a future budget that you can reasonably live on. Make sure you include extra expenditures and trips that you may want to take. Once you have somewhat determined this amount of money requirement, then you can know if the plan you have is going to be enough, or if you will need to add more to your individual retirement account.

There are many businesses that can help you plan your individual retirement account. They can help you somewhat determine how much money you will need to have acquired in order to live the lifestyle you plan to live. There are many calculations to consider when planning a retirement. Will you be debt free. Will you own your own home by then and if not, can you afford the mortgage payment. Don’t let your individual retirement account become an overwhelming project, but a wise person will make plans for their future. Don’t be caught off guard because the unexpected can happen. Just remember an individual retirement account is for your own welfare in the future, so whatever you do, don’t wait too long to get one started.

Rock Legends “The Who’ Kick Off Their UK Comeback Tour This May

One of the most legendary rock bands to have come out of Britain in the last 50 years, The Who have just released ‘Endless Wire’ - their first full studio album of new material since 1982 - and are now in the midst of their first tour in over 20 years. However, while the touring longevity of some bands, such as The Rolling Stones, Status Quo and Iron Maiden, may make such achievements seem quite ordinary, this belies the long and complex journey that remaining members of The Who - Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey - have taken.

Formed in the 1960s, the initial line-up of The Who consisted of Townshend and Daltrey, as well as John Entwistle and Keith Moon - widely credited as one of the greatest drummers of all time. Influenced by the early music of The Kinks, the foursome released their debut album ‘My Generation’ in 1965, which included some iconic mod anthems such as “The Kids are Alright”, title-track “My Generation” and, Homer Simpson’s personal favourite, “Magic Bus”. Although the album generated the group much success as a singles band, The Who - with Townshend at the creative helm - began to steer themselves towards greater things and in 1969 revealed their first full-length rock opera, ‘Tommy’.

‘Tommy’ brought The Who untold levels of popularity across the world, with Melody Maker magazine quoted as saying, “Surely The Who are now the band against which all others are to be judged.” At the Woodstock Festival in 1969, The Who performed ‘Tommy’ in its entirety and the film that followed in 1975 - starring the likes of Oliver Reed, Elton John, Tina Turner and Jack Nicholson - helped the band skyrocket to stardom in the United States.

The 1970s saw The Who continue to plough their way through the world of rock ‘n’ roll, with the 1970 release of ‘Live at Leeds’ - widely considered to be the best live rock album ever released - and the advent of their second full-length rock opera, ‘Quadrophenia’, in 1973. However, the death of drummer Keith Moon in 1978, just weeks after the release of album ‘Who Are You’, marked a turning point for the band, who replaced Moon with Kenney Jones. Moon’s death, however, didn’t damage the place of The Who as rock legends, and in 1979, Time Magazine heralded The Who as having “outpaced, outlasted, outlived and outclassed” all their rock contemporaries.

In 1983, Pete Townshend declared himself unable to write material that was appropriate for The Who and withdrew from the band, thus signalling an end to a rock outfit that had managed to last the pace of nearly 20 years. However the band re-formed for Bob Geldof’s Live Aid Concert at Wembley Stadium in 1985, and the remainder of the decade saw similar one-off collaborations between the former members.

The year 2000 saw a landmark in the evolution of The Who as musical geniuses, when Townsend, Entwistle and Daltrey decided to re-form and record new material. Tragedy struck in 2002, however, when Entwistle died from a cocaine-induced heart-attack. Nevertheless, Townshend and Daltrey continued to create new material, and in 2004 released two new singles as part of a singles anthology. In October 2006, ‘Endless Wire’ was released, debuting at number seven on the US Billboard albums chart and number nine on the UK Albums Chart - and The Who embarked on a long and gruelling worldwide tour.

Following a highly-acclaimed American leg - during which the Boston Herald claimed, “More than forty years on, The Who’s shows still burst with youthful exuberance,” - The Who will be playing in venues around the UK from May; the highlight of which is sure to be their performance at Wembley Arena on June 27th. If you’re a fan of The Who, young or old, why not take a short break to London to witness them in action in the capital - and see 40 years of some of the best musical talent the world has ever seen speak for itself!

Raise Your Vibration for Deliberate Creation

Books, programs, movies and websites abound right now on how to implement the Law of Attraction in your life. Your thoughts and feelings put out energy and this energy attracts events, people and material things into your life. Each and every program, book and movie states that you must increase the vibration or the energy you are putting out to a feeling of joy and happiness so you will attract more joy and happiness into your life. There are many techniques to help students of the Law of Attraction to increase this positive energy. Here is one that is simple, but often overlooked.

Ask yourself this. Is the current state of your health helping to raise your vibration or not?

Just what IS the current state of your health? Are you 10 pounds overweight and flabby in spots you don’t want to be flabby? Do you suffer from stress-related illness such as hypertension and depression? Do you feel good about yourself? Do you have energy and focus? Does it feel great to be you? If the answer to any of these questions is no-then it’s going to be difficult to raise your vibration to one of joy and harmony.

To deliberately create your life, you must first feel you deserve what you are asking for. Obviously, it is easier to feel you deserve good things if you feel good about yourself. Having good health and well-being helps you feel great about yourself.

Your mind, body and spirit are all tied together to make you who you are. In focusing on increasing mind power, the body plays an equal part. If the body is in tip-top shape, it will help you on your quest for peace and joy in your life.

Have you tried every diet around and failed at all of them? How does that make you feel? If you look in the mirror every morning and say an affirmation like “I am fit and healthy. My body is slim and I feel great,” what sort of reflection stares back at you? Saying this type of affirmation while seeing something entirely different reflected back at you can be very depressing, which only lowers your vibration.

Not what you want!

The good news is, simple changes can start you on the road to feeling great about yourself. Many people make the mistake of believing they must totally up-end their lives-join a gym and spend an hour a day there, go on an extreme diet plan or lose 5 pounds a week to feel better about themselves. This is NOT necessary.

Day by day, week by week, small successes will create a new you who DOES feel wonderful in your own body. You don’t have to change overnight. The act of making changes, of being in the process of creating the health you want, will raise your vibrations.

Here is one simple plan:

Purchase a spiral notebook. On the inside cover write “I attract health and well-being into my life with the help of the Universe. I feel better about myself every day.”

Now, think your level of health and fitness. How do you feel? How do you want to feel? What changes would you like to make? At first, choose six easily reachable goals and write them in your notebook. For the next week, resolve to stick with these goals and, at the end of the week, congratulate yourself when you have reached them.

Some simple goals might be:

1. drink 2 cups of antioxidant-rich green tea every day
2. add one fruit and one vegetable to your daily menu
3. look at the foods in your pantry and read the labels-resolve to eat foods with the fewest
number of ingredients-which are more whole and natural
4. meditate for 5 minutes each morning or evening
5. walk for 10 minutes each day
6. read one article on health and wellness-if you have a health condition, research it to see what natural remedies you could try
7. Drink more water! Water provides energy and vitality to your body.
8. Next time you eat out - order off the low-fat, low-calorie menu

After the first week, evaluate how you feel. Look at your list and decide which things you want to keep doing. You may hate green tea. It’s all right to scrap that one and add a different goal.

For week two, add two more goals for the week to the ones you’re already doing. It may be losing a pound or adding 5 minutes to your meditation time or your daily walk.

This exercise will help you find good health concepts that work for you and make you feel better. You’ll have a chance to try them out and integrate them into your daily life. The other important part is to congratulate yourself for each goal you achieved! Be proud that you did something to make yourself feel better.

Small changes can make a huge difference in your health and how you feel about yourself and your body. You will discover new ways of living that bring you joy and happiness. Just the success of sticking to your plan, all the while watching the person in the mirror become healthier and fitter, will inspire you to make other, bigger changes.

As for the Law of Attraction and making it work in your life, enjoying better health, having more energy, losing weight, all these things will also raise your vibration.
