I had a friend, John, who many years ago introduced me to the game of golf. John wasn’t a very big guy compared to me, but he could always out drive me (at first). And, he seemed to do it effortlessly. I hated him.

One day early on, I asked him how he could consistently out hit me.

“You swing the golf club like it’s a baseball bat. It’s not. Don’t hit the ball, stroke it. Think about the difference. When you figure it out, with your size, you’ll out hit me by a long ways.”

John and I then had a long conversation about the mental approach to the game of golf, and he introduced me to two words that I believe are the lifeblood to any good golfer: consistency and control.

John had me associate the way I approached putting to the way I would drive off the tee. “In many ways, they are the same. You easily maintain control of your body while putting. It should be the same off the tee. Control and consistency. If you can’t control your golf swing, how are you going to control where the golf ball goes?”

John was making a lot of sense. Early on as a golfer, I was completely out of control and hoping for the best. It was only when I downsized my approach and started ’stroking’ the golf ball that I began to see better results.

With every golf swing you take strive to maintain that control and stroke the golf ball wherever you are on the course; leave the hitting to baseball players and boxers. When you are able to do this your golf swing will give you the consistency to become a better golfer.

In golf, there are two categories of players - the golf pros and the golf amateurs. Fortunately for all, the line between these two categories does meet at some point.

There are many people who are of the opinion that golf is a leisurely game. Its purpose is for recreation, thus hiring a golf professional to teach you how to play defeats the purpose of the game and drains it of any real enjoyment.

However, although there are close to 30 million golfers in the States alone most of them have never had or will never get to break a score of 100. Many of these golfers complain not only of a less than satisfactory game, but also of the aches and pains that they feel after a game of golf.

Being able to play golf like a pro through one’s own practice may work out for some golfers, even if it is not as effective as having the assistance of someone more professional to help you with the game. - Should the rates for a personal one-on-one lesson be too high or expensive, you may choose to go for a lesson with a group of other golfers. This way expenses can be shared. Please remember though, not to have more than 4 people to a golf pro. This lets you have attention as good as a personal one-on-one lesson but with less expenses. A golf pro coaching for an hour for a group of 4 golfers would cost somewhere around $120.

- A vital thing to keep in mind is that when working with a pro, it means going for quality rather than quantity. This is after all why you hired them in the first place. Since there is a limited number of lessons, work hard to ensure that you achieve your goal of being an excellent golfer at a few techniques, rather than knowing many techniques but being the master of none.

- A professional coach will instruct you on the techniques to a better game on your own in the future without his supervision. The main purpose is of course so that you can become a better golfer on your own. This includes not only playing with the right techniques but also having a good warm-up and stretching routine.

And finally, even after you have completed all your lessons and after some improvements in your game, you should still go back to see your coach maybe once a year. This will enable him to check up on your golf game and to see if there are any other techniques or aspects that you still need to work on. There will always be room for improvement, more so if you want to play a better game of golf.

This is the universe delivering what you asked for, It is rearranging itself to bring you what you want for your life.

Step Five

Find yourself a mentor.

Selling Real Estate - How My Walk Through Taught Me Important Life Lessons About People

Several years ago I worked with a young couple who wanted to purchase their first home. They had a toddler and a new baby on the way and were anxious to move into their new home before the baby came. The husband’s family was helping them with the purchase and they needed a house with a guest unit for his parents to stay in when there were visiting.

After looking at many properties over a period of almost three months we finally found the perfect property for them. The main house had three bedrooms and two bathrooms which would suit the family perfectly. There was also a large den where the husband could set up his musical equipment. Additionally, there was a separate guest house with one bedroom and a bath. The parents would be very comfortable there and everyone would have some privacy. The lot was on almost half an acre and the backyard was like a small park where the children would be able to play. The price was right and we opened escrow after a short period of negotiation.

On the day the escrow closed I took the couple over to the property for a final walk through with the sellers. This couple had moved out of the area so this would be the first time they would be meeting in person. They liked each other right away and I followed along with the listing agent as they shared information about the house. They told my buyers when they had installed the carpet in the master bedroom, what to look for when they moved a large piece of furniture in through the front door, and how helpful the gardener was when the weeds got too thick in the backyard. We went from room to room in the main house and then walked through the guest house. It was a Friday afternoon, a warm day in May, and I was thinking about how much I loved selling real estate. Bringing people together like this made the job worthwhile.

It was just about then that I saw the wife look a little pale. I thought maybe it was the baby kicking her or that she was becoming tired. I leaned in and heard the seller speaking.

“And the Hell’s Angels across the street are perfectly nice neighbors. On Sunday they have the club over, but you can’t hear anything if you stay inside of the house. Sometime they have 30 or 40 motorcycles lined up in front of the house. It’s pretty loud, but we just stay in the house on Sunday afternoons. They are very nice people…”

I was frozen with fear and speechless. Hell’s Angels? Thirty or forty motorcycles? I looked quickly to my buyers to watch for their reaction. My life flashed in front of me. They would want to cancel the sale. No, it had already been recorded earlier that day and it was Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day weekend! Hell’s Angeles everywhere. My buyers would have to work around the motorcycles in the street to get their moving van into the driveway. I was in a panic but I maintained my composure and smiled sweetly. Could they tell that I was biting my lip? My reputation would be ruined. I began to feel faint.

My buyer’s are still living in this house. The children are eight and five and there is a third child on the way. They love the house, his parents stay regularly in the guest house, and the neighbors, who happen to be Hell’s Angels, are wonderful people. I had overreacted to the situation. Luckily, I did this inside of my head and not out loud in front of everyone. I did learn some important lessons that day that I will never forget. Don’t jump to conclusions. Everyone has a right to be who they are. Be kind and accepting of other people. These lessons have served me well over the past several years and they apply to all situations in my life, not just to selling real estate.

Why A Woman Wouldn’t Cheat On Her Man

Why would a woman NOT cheat on her man? Because she loves him? No, I don’t think that is the answer. Because she is afraid of what he will do to her? No, I don’t think that is the answer either. Because she believes in God? Well, that is part of the answer but not the entire answer. Many cheaters say they believe in God so that couldn’t be the correct answer. Is it because she is devoted to her husband and committed to her marriage / relationship? Yes, that is the correct answer.

Why would a husband NOT cheat on his wife? It is for the very same reason as the wife, because he is devoted to his wife, and committed to the marriage. Of course there are other factors that fit into the picture very nicely and that is respecting oneself, which is a big part of the equation here. When a woman has been brought up believing in the purity of marriage, and if she has a good self worth, she is less likely to go outside of the marital perimeters to complete herself. She is already made complete and satisfied through God and holds the principles of marriage dear to her heart.

The good news is you don’t need to go outside of the boundaries of marriage to feel good about yourself. You can give your troubled heart to God and ask Him to help you with whatever emotions, weakness, or other troubles that are afflicting your self-image.

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10 NIV)

The cheating heart syndrome relies on feelings and other people around them for happiness. Instead of receiving happiness from within, some people look outside of themselves. A man or woman who is constantly going outside the boundaries of marriage for gratification is hooked up within a syndrome, almost like a person would who has an addiction. The addict receives gratification from alcohol or drugs and the cheater receives happiness from using others.

Simply put, cheaters cheat to make themselves feel better; it is a form of validation. It feels good to have someone want you, adore you, and basically treat you as if you were the only person in his or her world. But these kind of shallow relationships do not last because uncommitted hearts will always be wrapped up within the cheating heart syndrome. Once the feelings are gone, off they go to the next relationship.

A spouse who constantly cheats or flirts with others does not rely on morality but on feelings, this is why they cheat. Their foundation rests on feelings and self-gratification rather than on principles. It’s not that they don’t want to have morals, and its not that they don’t know right from wrong, but that FEELING good is more important than DOING good according to the cheater.

For the woman who does not cheat on her man, her convictions within her keep her from straying from the marriage bed. Even though, many of these faithful women have every opportunity to commit adultery and never get caught, they are so devoted to their man and the relationship, it is not even an option.

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV)

Let’s suppose you really are unhappy with the person you married. Well, so what! Why are you dissatisfied? Is there something you are doing or not doing in the marriage? You see, happiness is not found outside of yourself. Even when a person has accepted God for their life, it is the Holy Spirit within them that gives them the spiritual resolve they need to make the right choices for happiness and contentment in life.

I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:11-13 NIV)

Asian Elephants

Asian elephants are sometimes known as Indian elephants. They are one of the three living species of elephant. Asian elephants are found mostly in India, Indochina, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. Asian elephants are smaller than African elephants and Asian elephants also have smaller ears. This is one of the best ways to tell Asian elephants apart from African elephants. The height of an Asian elephant ranges from 7-12 feet and they weigh approximately 3.25 to 5.5 tons. There are other physical characteristics that separate Asian elephants from their African counterparts. They have a more arched back and also have more nails on the feet. While both male and female African elephants have tusks, female Asian elephants usually do not have these tusks. Females that do have tusks often have tusks that are small and hard to see.

Behavior of Asian Elephants

Elephants travel in migratory routes that are seasonal in nature. These routes often take the Asian elephants through wet and dry zones. The oldest member of the herd is the elephant charged with remembering where the routes lead. Asian elephants live for about 60 years when they are in the wild and 80 years when they are in zoos and other captive environments. The females live in small groups that are led by the oldest female in the group. The herd that elephants travel in consists of relative elephants. Male elephants are called bull elephants. They like to travel alone and often become involved in conflicts over female elephants during the mating season.

Domestic Use of Asian Elephants

Asian elephants have been domesticated for many purposes. In Southern and Southeast Asia, elephants have been used for forestry purposes because their tusks and large size make it easy for them to knock down small trees and brush. Asian elephants have also been used during ceremonies for many centuries. Some areas charge money to tourists to see Asian elephants in the wild, but it is difficult to do this because elephants may damage property.

Danger of Asian Elephants

Because of their size, Asian elephants are rather dangerous. They have tusks and large bodies that can be used to destroy property and cause harm to humans and other animals. Adult males are particularly aggressive because of the surge in testosterone they experience after they go through puberty. This aggression gives them the ability to cause a lot of damage in a short amount of time.

Subspecies of Asian Elephants

There are four subspecies of Asian elephants. The Indian elephant (E. m. indicus) lives in southern India, northwest India, and the foothills of the Himalayans. This subspecies has males that usually have tusks. The Sri Lankan elephant (E. m. maximus) only lives in Sri Lanka. Most of the elephants do not have tusks whether they are male or female. The Sumatran elephant (E. m. sumatrensis) lives in Sumatra. This elephant is sometimes known as the pocket elephant because of its small size. The Borneo elephant (E. m. borneensis) is the smallest subspecies and lives in north Borneo. Even though this is the smallest subspecies, it has the biggest ears.

Okay, I am being a bit facetious, but you get the point. We cannot manage time; we can only manage ourselves around the 24 hours we are given daily. You can waste it or use it to your advantage, but whatever you decide; it will continue to move with or without any actions on your part. And as the above definition states, your actions are irreversible.

Don’t start thinking about any time wasted in the past, start today to use your time wisely.

Physically Fit Older Women – It Is Worth The Effort To Stay In Shape

It is a myth that younger women always command the attention because of their youth and appearance. Of course, the younger a person is they will tend to be in better physical shape just because they are more active. But I have found that myself and other men that I know really appreciate being around a middle-aged woman who has taken care of herself both physically and has a professional career. There is something special about an older woman that is hard to put into words perhaps it is the wisdom that they have accumulated through the years plus their physical beauty. But make no mistake a physically attractive older woman is something many young males would be proud and honored to know.

Some older women I have spoken to told me that some of the techniques they have used to keep in shape. The most common reply is they watch what they eat and never or rarely ever eat anything containing sugar or carbohydrates. Several have home exercise equipment and exercise regularly to maintain their fitness while others have success keeping their shape with just diet alone.

Portion control is also a necessity in maintaining a good physical appearance. You have to always know what you are eating and how many calories it contains. Without keeping track of what you consume you could easily end up eating way more than what you need and start putting on the pounds. To really know what you eat you have to write down what you have eaten throughout the day so you know at a glance if you have already eaten your daily caloric intake yet or not. Without a written record you may forget that you had an extra sandwich for lunch and eat too much later in the day. Your body will not forget and those extra calories will be turned into fat.

Some of the older women I have spoken with that are really into physical exercise and fitness also use nutritional supplements, such as, Goji Juice and vitamins, in addition to keeping their food intake in check.
