Landscape Painting Can Be Child’s Play

From the time I was a kid I was an early riser, and from a young age I could not be persuaded to stay in bed after six AM, despite my parents’ best creative efforts to try and get me to sleep in a bit later. They eventually gave up trying and from then on I was allowed to get up, under the condition that I watch television quietly by myself. The main issue with this scenario was that at the time Sunday morning television was not really geared towards youngsters, so I started watching a show in which a rather odd Frenchman was going about painting landscapes using oil colors.

The only reason I watched this show was because at that time of the morning I had a choice between the weird Frenchman and his oil paintings, the shopping channels or religious programs. With time I actually became quite fascinated by his comforting voice and the way he was creating pretty landscapes with his colors and brushes. I became so fascinated, in fact, that I felt an urge to try it out myself, as he was making it look quite effortless. As a young kid, however, my art arsenal was limited to crayons.

It became my Sunday morning routine: I would get up at six in the morning, switch the TV on to the oil painting show and sit on the sofa, armed with paper and pastels to try and copy the landscapes showing in the program. I got some pretty impressive drawings, but didn’t quite compare with the sort of work the show host was churning out week in week out. It dawned on me that what I needed was oil paints, but being seven years old it proved to be a tall order: I couldn’t quite just go out and buy some, and I didn’t quite manage to get my parents to buy some for me either.

Looking around for a creative solution to my problem I thought that my mother’s make-up bag would be a fairly good approximation of an artist’s oil painting materials. I found a disused box to mix the colors on as if it was a pallet. I then set out mixing all the various types of make-up with a smooth texture that I could find: I also discovered that I could also tone down the color of lipstick, blusher and eye-shadows by simply adding a bit of light tan foundation. The blusher came with an application brush that turned out to be perfect for painting, and the mascara brush helped achieve really neat texture and shading.

My artistic future was however nipped in the bud as soon as my mom realized what had happened a few hours later, and I was told never to paint again. This also killed my next idea which was to start painting using foodstuff. In the end I stopped watching the show altogether as I found it way too frustrating not to be able to come up with my own creations too.

Using Bricks In Landscaping Projects

Using Brick in Your Backyard

Bricks traditionally used in landscaping projects are available in a variety of size and coloring. They are a great material to use outdoors and can give an attractive, classical feel to most homes. They not only can help you tie your design scheme come together but are also useful to remedy some common landscaping problems, and instantly lift a previously messy grass patch for example. The good looks and easy maintenance of brick is its only advantage: brick is also a very hard-wearing and long-lasting material.

Using Brick For Terraces

It is very straightforward to create a great brick terrace out of nay outdoor space: the only things you will need, in addition to your time, is brick and some mortar. You can chose to put the bricks down in rows that all face the same direction, or be a bit more creative by laying them following a basket weave pattern. This is simply achieved by alternating vertical and horizontal bricks.

Using Bricks in The Garden

For many years now garden designers have found many advantages to using brick, which makes it one of most common materials used in landscaping projects. They are widely used to mark the limits of a various areas of the plot, or to built beds for flowers and vegetables. They are also quite useful when planning water features: used as a surround material they will add coziness and permanence to the design.

Using Bricks for Paths And Walkways

It can be quite useful to use a liner made of landscape fabric underneath bricked paths as this can prevent the material to crumble over time and sink into the soil. Should you also use a basket weave design when laying your path in such a way will guarantee a pleasing a compliment-fetching result!

Further Ideas in Using Bricks Outdoors

A Life of Truth - Keeping Love Sacred

“Love is the ultimate guru. Where love does not exist, life cannot exist”

Tired, frustrated, overweight, addicted, overworked, stressed with anxiety, driven by obsession, out of balance? If yes, this article may provide you with an amazing insight.

Human spirit is another word for energy. There is no ghost or spirit controlling our vitality. What controls our vitality and energy is our love for life. When our mind, our heart or our spirit withdraws from something, so our energy withdraws. We begin to feel tired, exhausted, angry or simply disappointed.

Tired is physical but its real origins are in the human heart.

The soul thinks in pictures and when the pictures become fuzzy, so the soul goes on holiday. Soulless living means the dream is lost, the love is gone, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Love is food for the heart, energy for the spirit. Really, when you find an exhausted, tired person, you find a person who has lost love. They might even be in a relationship, but the love has gone out of it. They might be in a job, but the love has gone out of it. Because we are so afraid of change, sometimes we stay in relationships and jobs when the love goes out of it. We do it because our culture, society values staying higher than going. Then, if the love goes out of it, we have to find substitutes.

Love cannot be forced. If love goes out of a relationship, it becomes a soulless union. Anything done, where the human spirit is lost, is done without soul. Then it is purely mechanical. There are allot of people who can deal with this mechanical life on the surface, but below the surface they have found a coping mechanism, a substitute for love, a way of supporting their spirit while it dies.

The four substitutes are:

Food
Greed
Sex
Righteousness

Food as a substitute. This obsession reveals itself in obesity, preoccupation with flavour and cooking, eating disorders, and substance abuse including alcohol, drugs, cigarettes and sugar. Food is not limited to what we consume by mouth. Infatuation and upper emotions are food as well.

Sex as a substitute. This obsession reveals itself in so many ways. Flirting, seeking approval, appetite for physical sex, masturbation, fantasy, affairs to name a few. Sexual drive rises as a substitute for love, not always as a mirror of it. This can include the pleasure lust for spiritual enlightenment.

Greed as a substitute. When love goes out, and therefore human spirit - energy goes out of someone’s life, greed comes in as a substitute. This greed is an appetite seen in blind ambition, obsessive saving, status and power in the form of cars, success, and righteous aggression. Holding onto children, living vicariously.

Righteousness as a substitute for love. The human ego thrives on blame. It wants to be right. The human ego is what grows to replace the human spirit when love is missing in a persons life. The human ego defends the individual from what they fear, creating a feeling of identity and self importance, energy.

To change a circumstance in our life, it is wise to deal with cause, rather than effect. The cause of the need for substitutes is that LOVE is not held SACRED. When love is gone, Sacred is gone, spirit dies and we are left with no option but to fill our empty space with a substitute.

Substitutes are responsible for: affairs, arthritis, arm ache, gangrene, heart attack, gum disease, ulcers, obesity, chronic fatigue, depression, suicide, car accidents, premature ejaculation, impotence, cancer, tinea, acne, bad moods, domestic violence, low productivity and more….

Do what you love, love what you do.

The loss of the human spirit is an epidemic that’s spreading fast. Have you caught it. Are you going through the motions of a relationship that’s dead, a job that’s about money, an exercise program that’s about how you look? Are you hooked on substitutes, righteousness about the world, greed about wanting, sex about acceptance, food about consumption? If so, it can all change if you prioritise love. Where love doesn’t exist - substitutes do.

Be you

Cultural norms make us stay where we don’t need to be. They make us leave where we don’t need to leave. Cultural conditioning make us think our parents are important after the age of 15. Cultural norms suggest the length of our relationships are more important than the quality and integrity of them. Where love stops, hearts stop.

The soul thinks in pictures. Can you see? With your inner eye? Are your dreams alive?

Remember, tiredness, ageing, stress and frustration are just signs that love is gone and substitutes have crept in.

Landscaping With Bridges

Using A Bridge In Your Backyard Design

You may want to consider building a bridge in your garden if you have enough space for it. It can really add a rather original and attractive angle to your design scheme. Overall adding a bridge would a fairly quick process, and there are quite a few ways to go about it.

Add a pond and a bridge to your landscape

Ponds are a great focal point in any garden and also add a very chilled and relaxed feel to your overall design. For instance you could locate the pond close to your patio or decking, then add a path and bridge so you can easily cross the expanse of water. It is guaranteed to add quite of bit of pizzazz to your decor!

Doing It Yourself vs. Hiring A Specialist

If you’re planning to add a bridge to your back garden, you can either decide to do all the work yourself, or get a professional in to get the job done. This last option may work out to be rather costly so you may want to consider building the bridge on your own - this would also give you greater satisfaction showing off your handiwork!

How To Go About Building A Bridge In Your Yard

In addition to some creativity you will need basic materials such as timber and nails to build a footbridge to go over an existing water feature like a pond. Then, before you get started in earnest you will need to consider the particulars of your backyard such as whether there will be a path going from the patio to the bridge, how long the bridge needs to be and what shape would best fit with the rest of your scheme.

How to Get Started

Before you get digging you should plot out the area where the pond will be using paint. Once this is done you can get your spade out, remembering to dig a few inches deeper that the intended depth of the finished water feature, say about 15 to 20″.

Cleaning Up The Rubble

As you need you will unearth pointed rocks and hard roots that could pierce through the lining of the pond: you therefore need to remove all debris that can get in the way, leaving the surface even. If this is not done properly then you run the risk of the overall result looking off once the pond is filled with water.

Using a Layer Of Sand

In order to help keeping the pond liner firmly where you need it to stay you can use a layer of sand underneath. You can always cut any additional material that is not required but you should keep enough liner to put over the edges of your pond. A useful trick to make the liner more flexible and help it stretch is to leave it to warm up in a sunny spot first.

Putting The Bridge In

When you are finally ready to install your footbridge in its intended location you should position stones all around the edges of your pond. You can be quite creative there and add even more interest to the feature by choosing rocks of particular shapes or color. As you put your bridge in place ensure that it is completely stable and is properly anchored, so you can enjoy its great decorative effect straight away.

911 Conspiracy Theory Revisited By Crack Online Think Tank Team

There seems to still be lingering 911 Conspiracy Theorists out there and so our Online Think Tank has reviewed all the material from the 911 Conspiracy Theorists. And yes we are aware and have heard the recent Rosie O’Donnell comments. Indeed we have listened to George Noory and the interviews of the Colorado Professors (at length) and in all this it is quite clear that all the conspiracy theorists out there have an axe to grind, big time.

We do not believe that it is healthy for the United States of America to go any further on the questioning of these events unless absolute proof is available. I have watched specials on the Discovery Channel and all the towers looked like demolish to me, but that is merely an observer of third hand video, I was not there.

Since, I have no information and I refuse to speculate, so too should the conspiracy theorists. In fact, I went thru all the data from a gentleman I met in Flagstaff, AZ who wrote an eBook on this, I went thru every single chapter and came up with plausible deniability on every single point of contention, yes, every single topic, without exception.

The selective use of news, false reports, non-mainstream media, etc. is alarming, the folks purporting these conspiracy theories have financial gains, ambition and books to sell or websites to promote; they are not with us.

In fact, one cannot tell us that the “news media” was in on it and then use the news media reports during all the chaos and selective quotes to prove their points of contention. Indeed, on the Think Tank our bulletin board went thru each point by point and found errors in each item of the conspiracy crowd. These comments are against our nation are very detrimental and damaging, they serve no purpose whatsoever and only weaken us. Thus I will defend against the conspiracy theorists.

Ideas For Landscaping

Getting Inspiration For Your Backyard Designs

It’s not so difficult to come up with professional looking results when it comes to landscaping: you too can have a yard that looks like a garden designer waltzed in to give it a complete makeover. The inspiration should really come from within: you can do it if you give your design a bit of thought and are not afraid of getting to work yourself.

Planning The Design

As with most design projects the first step of a successful landscape scheme comes from careful planning. A great piece of advice is to start your project with a pen and paper before you go anywhere near a spade! This will allow you to visualize the space you have to work with. You should always spend as much time as needed just thinking your ideas through. You should also keep in mind that there may be some existing features in your backyard such as building structures or trees that you will not be able to move, so take them into account in the planning stage.

Look Around For Inspiration

There are plenty of places that you can check out for landscaping ideas so if you are not too sure how to go about looking for inspiration you can start browsing the gardening press or take a stroll around the aisles of your local garden center. Wherever you go for a drive or a simple walk in the neighborhood, keep an eye out for interesting ideas in other people’s properties: this can also help you get a better idea of how things will look once your once garden is done.

Picking Suitable Plants And Features

The actual space that you are working with dictates what you should or shouldn’t use. For instance, how is the garden oriented, what area receives the most sun and whether there may be any water draining problems inherent to the plot. Once you are fully aware of the conditions you can make an informed choice when it comes to selecting the right plants for the space.

Using Artificial Materials

There is a vast array of man-made materials at your disposal to build walls and delimit the various areas of your design. This is also true of using artificial materials to add break up an otherwise flat extent, or make a feature out of existing bumps. Things you can use for this purpose are only limited by what you can get your hands on to and your imagination: you may want to consider rail sleepers, timber of even boulders for this. Being creative needs not be costly!

Keeping Your Backyard Looking Neat

You should always ensure that you have the kit and know-how to keep your new design looking neat and tidy at all times. A bit of careful maintenance will go a long way. For instance make sure that your plants and flowers are kept in the best possible shape with adequate feeding and watering. If you have used rocks and stones you should likewise keep them looking their best in the long run with regular cleaning.

You too can have a great looking garden by using a bit of imagination, and large amount of elbow grease. Your efforts will be repaid with long-lasting results!

What is a Quality Black Tea Garden?

Black tea has helped to revolutionize the beverage market. Over the years, the exotic drink had become the world’s most popular tea. In fact, 80 percent of the tea consumed in the U.S. is actually of the black tea variety.

Perhaps black tea is so popular because of its boldness-it is darker and stronger than green tea is.

The Preparation Process

After plucking, black tea leaves are spread out so that they can dry. Then, the leaves are rolled and fermented. As little as two hours later, the leaves are heated so that the moisture can be removed. The quality of black tea varies according to a number of different factors.

These include the origin of the black tea, the conditions in which it’s grown, and the competence of the manager of the tea estate. Therefore, a quality black tea garden is dependent as much on the skill of the grower as the soil conditions of the actual plot of land.

In general, black tea grows best in areas that are warm and are of altitudes of anywhere from 3,000 to 7,000 feet. Because teas at high altitudes tend to grow more slowly, they produce a tea of greater flavor. The tea gardens of India’s Darjeeling region and Sri Lanka’s Uva district are greater than 6,000 feet high. Although tea grows best in a dry season, rain is necessary for the tea leaves to survive.

Taking a Closer Look at Tea Varieties

Fortunately, there are a number of tantalizing tea varieties you can try that are as rich in quality as they are in flavor. For instance, you might consider Honey Pear, a version of black tea which combines the fruity taste of the pear tree with the sweet taste of honey. Served hot or iced, Honey Pear is reminiscent of an exotic dessert.

An intriguing alternative would be Nepalese Afternoon Tea, a tea which is derived from the base of Mount Everest in Nepal. This loose-leaf tea combines lotus, honey, and sandalwood to form a delicious, memorable blend.

Yet another possibility is Pu-erh, a loose-leaf tea which is among the most popular tea blends in Asia. Pu-erh is known for its sweet, earthy scent and its multitude of health benefits.

Exceptional Flavor

One of the key points to keep in mind about black tea is its distinctive flavor. Because of the manner in which it has been processed, it can easily be differentiated from other forms of tea. Once you’ve sampled black tea, chances are you will never be nostalgic for other types of tea. While black tea may be an acquired taste, once you’ve become accustomed to it, you’ll probably want to make black tea-drinking a lifelong habit.

Health Benefits

Research indicates there are many health benefits associated with black tea. For instance, since caffeine can improve airflow to the lungs, drinking black tea may be beneficial to individuals with asthma. Some research also indicates that the polyphenols in black tea have antioxidant qualities which may make them helpful in the fight against cancer.

In addition, researchers believe that black tea may be helpful in preventing cavities and heart attacks. There are some indications that the beverage may enhance memory, improve mental performance, and enhance alertness. Interestingly enough, drinking black tea may also help to prevent osteoporosis by improving bone density in older women.

The Safety of Black Tea

It should be pointed out that the Food and Drug Administration does not monitor the safety of herbs and supplements. As a result, it is important that you check with your doctor before radically changing your daily diet to include copious amounts of black tea.

In general, people who have an allergy to caffeine or tannin should not drink black tea, since such consumption may lead to a skin rash or hives. The caffeine in black tea may also increase urine output, decrease blood sodium/potassium levels, and can worsen incontinence.

In addition, caffeine can increase the amount of acid in the stomach, leading to ulcers and can increase blood sugar levels. As a result, black tea may not be appropriate for people who suffer from complications from diabetes. Individuals who have serious liver disease may also be impacted negatively by the caffeine in black tea.

Some Final Thoughts

Finding a high-quality black tea is really not that difficult, considering all the various varieties that are available today. Once you begin drinking black tea, you may find that you are hooked for life. The more you drink this unusual beverage, the more you’ll come to appreciate its many attributes.

Even the most finicky tea connoisseurs tend to have high praise for black tea. While it may not be called the beverage of champions, it certainly is a stellar brew that can appeal not only to your taste buds, but to your desire for good health as well.

Magnets for Pets and People

What started out as a casual after dinner conversation with some friends about the benefits of magnets for humans peaked my interest in to finding out the use of magnets for pets.

Magnets have been in use for thousands of years. The earth has a natural magnetic field and as humans we require this magnetic field to function normally. These magnetic fields make it easier for your body to do what it does and also helps your cells to work more efficiently.

Magnets have been used over the years to treat general fatigue, pain, to heal broken bones more quickly, and to help circulatory problems. This natural energy helps to release endorphins into our blood stream, which helps to kill pain.

The Space Program (NASA) used rats in many experiments in space and the rats that were not fitted with a magnetic field perished, and those that were, survived.

In recent years research has been done to see if the use of magnets can be beneficial to our pets. The answer, of course, is an astounding “yes.” Magnetic pet therapy is making use of one of the universe’s most natural force. It is non-invasive, does not have any side effects, is easy to use, offers pain relief and is relatively inexpensive.

In 1976 Dr. Kyoichi Nakagawa, the founder of modern day magnetic health research, published in the Japan Medical Journal, an article claiming that the strength of the earth’s natural magnetic field has decreased considerably and is being further reduced by steel buildings, cars, high voltage power lines and other manmade electrical fields. As a result people and animals are suffering from such symptoms as fatigue, aches and pains, muscle cramps and insomnia, which he termed “magnetic field deficiency syndrome.” He went on to further state that these symptoms could be alleviated by the external application of magnets to the body.

How does a magnet work and what is it made of?

Magnets are made of a combination of materials such as iron, cobalt, nickel, ceramic, aluminum and neodymium. They come in bars, strips and even beads. They are magnetized by placing magnets near a large coil of wire that has a great deal of direct electrical current being applied to it in brief pulsating movements.

There are two types of permanent magnets, both of which are causing researchers and therapists to argue among themselves as to which is the best to use.

The unipolar magnet is made up of bars or beads and has the north pole on one side and the south pole on the other side. The north pole should be facing the body and the south pole away from the body (the magnets are marked accordingly) when in use.

The bipolar magnet, which is the newest one to be used, is made in long strips and cut to specific sizes with the north and south poles lying parallel to each other or in concentric circles. Both the north and south poles face the body of the person or animal when using a bipolar magnet.

There is also another magnetic field, which is gaining use in the equine field. It is pulsed electromagnetic field therapy systems (PEME). It is a battery powered, portable device that generates a pulsating electromagnetic field that is used to treat chronic leg and neck injuries in horses and to do maintenance therapy on musculoskeletal conditions on horses.

The strength of a magnet is measured by its gauss, a measurement of the density of magnetic lines of force.

Therapeutic magnets range from 200 to 3,000 gauss. The higher the magnetic number the more powerful the magnet. The larger the animal is (horse) the larger the strength. For most pets 1000 gauss or less is normal.

Why should you use magnets on your pets?

Since magnets are so great in releasing the endorphins that relieve pain, magnets can be used for just about all degenerative pet diseases such as hip dysplasia, rheumatoid arthritis, vertebra disorders, sprains, lameness, tendonitis and more.

Dr. Michael Strazza wrote in the 1996 edition of the Journal of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association that the use of magnets in the bandages of dogs with simple fractures healed 40 to 50 percent faster. This allowed the dogs to be on their feet sooner. He also was able to get a 60 to70 percent positive response when treating dogs with degenerative diseases with magnets.

Researchers have found through many studies that toxins in the body cause many degenerative diseases.

Where are our pets getting these toxins?

From the daily use of products found in our cupboards that we do not even think about.

Our pets spend most, if not all their time on the floor or in our yards.

What is it that we seem to be doing most of the time?

Cleaning and spraying. The chemicals in our cleaners, waxes, polishes and garden products are full of toxins.

We as adults absorb some of these toxins into our bodies, but our pets laying in constant contact with these things we use, for the most part get an overdose. They are always licking and cleaning themselves. Formaldehyde is found in just about everything we use. It is a deadly gas and is found in drapes, couches, chairs, bedding, carpets, wood products and much more. It is no wonder our pets get sick and have degenerative problems.

Magnets can be used to treat pets with arthritis, back pain, after orthopedic surgery, to improve performance levels for dogs in agility programs, obedience programs and show dogs that have to hold a position for long periods of time.

Magnets can help in the recovery of extreme exercise by helping muscles to recover more quickly.

Magnets can be used to keep the musculoskeletal system healthy and in good working order. Consider magnets as preventive medicine

Magnets however, should not be used on fresh wounds, pregnant dogs, dogs with internal bleeding and certainly not on dogs with metal screws or metal plate implants.

I mentioned earlier that that there were no known side effects and that is true. However, when you first start using a magnet on your pet or yourself, there may be for a short period of time an adverse reaction. You or your pet may feel worse instead of better.

It is a type of detox as the magnetic fields are stirring up all those nasty toxins within the body. It is recommended that you and/or your pet drink a lot of water during that time to help flush out your system.

The secret here is to stay with it, as within a few days you will see great improvement either in yourself or your pet.

Magnets can also be used in conjunction with other types of treatment such as acupuncture, herbs, massage and anything else where the main goal is to alleviate pain and discomfort.

Magnets are believed to accelerate the healing process by increasing the blood flow to the capillaries that bring nutrients and oxygen to the injured areas, remove toxins, help repair tissues and help reduce pain.

As with all things, do not “self doctor” your pet, always consult your veterinarian or pet health care provider before attempting to try something new.

How do you keep your pet magnetized?

There are many products on the market for pets (dogs and cats.) Magnetic collars are one place to start, there are magnetic bed for pets, actual rug wraps you can wrap your pet up in, special wraps designed for shoulders, hips, knees, all designed to be flexible and made with adjustable Velcro closings. If all else fails you can hold your pet and hold the magnet in place for 10 to 20 minutes a day until the inflammation or pain subsides.

There is no excuse for you or your pet to remain in pain if a magnet can help.

I am always looking for additional information that will help our pets and give us as pet owners the opportunity to expand our knowledge in caring for them. How to Set up Multiple Streams of Income as a Joint Venture Broker on the Internet

If you are after an income online but not quite sure what you want to do, or you you don,t think you have the time for maintaining your own website yet, then take a look at this little charmer.

What I am going to show you here is a way of bringing together people in the same niche market that is profitable to all. Basically, this involves a two tier affiliate program (this is very important) in the same niche as a site that has a large customer base and gets lots of good traffic. We bring the two together by contacting the high traffic site and we all make a good profit.

The importance of the affiliate site being “two tier” is that the referrer is paid without affecting the commissions of the promoter. This is great as that means the promoter will see no need in cutting you out and signing up to the affiliate site on their own.

Lets have a look at an example project to see this idea in action.

The Seven Easy Steps To becoming A Joint Venture Broker

1. Select your niche market.

2. Find a two tier affiliate program associated to your niche.

3. Sign up as an affiliate.

4. Use search engine trickery to display your potential prospects,

5. Collect contact information for your potential prospects.

6. Email them your proposal, outlining the benefits and that its a win win situation.

7. Repeat this process many times and enjoy multiple streams of income.

We find ourselves a two tier affiliate program relating to golf and sign up as an affiliate. We then do a bit of research and find ourselves another website relating to golf that has lots of good traffic and a large customer base. We then contact this site with our findings, telling them that they will earn good commissions through our affiliate link and its win, win all round. This site then sends an advert to their list with our affiliate link in and we all watch our profits rise without having anyone affecting anyone elses profits.

Thats the beauty of two tier affiliate programs!

This process is then replicated as many times as you wish to generate multiple streams of income. You can run this from wherever you want whenever you want and you lose nothing in giving this a go. What do you have to lose?
