Hairstyle is simply defined as a style in which hair is cut and arranged. It is also termed as haircut and hairdo. Hairstyles have been forming an essential part of human personality reflecting the social, political and cultural trends since the history of mankind. They also reveal the custom, peculiarities and personal traits of different people.
From the beginning of time, men and women have cared for their hairs. No doubt women were always more possessive about their hairs and had a concept of beauty, adornment and attractiveness. The Ancient Egyptians were known for their attention to beauty and cleanliness. Since about the 4th century B.C they have used knives, hairpins and combs and later in the 3rd century B.C Egyptian women starting using hair extension and artistic wigs. Women there were more conscious about the length and thickness of their hairs. They believed that long and thick hairs look beautiful and add on to their personality.
Later in between the 1500 and 650 B.C, the Greeks developed their unique hairstyles and the most well known hairstyles n the 500 B.C. was the “Green Knot”. The Greek women used to hold their hairs together and form a knot at the neck, called the Green Knot. Since then buns and knots were in fashion. In the same period Greeks also used saffron to lighten their hair.
Hairstyles were not only the concern for Greek women but the Greek men also had great concern for the same. Short and curly hairs for men were the most known hairstyle. New and various fashion trends came up and later between 500 B.C and 500 A.D the Romans added various adornment to their hairstyles. These decorations were made of gold, silver and ivory.
In the Middle Ages short, chin length and curly hairs became known. Then in the Modern Age, the Age at the front of fashion, trends and styles, hairstyles became more imaginative. Various hairstyles adorned with ribbons, gold, precious stones and pearls were becoming popular. In the Baroque and Biedermeier periods several hairstyles were disappeared along with the wigs. From 1850 onwards, with the advancement in technology more and more people started going to the hair dresser to bring a complete new look to their personality. In 1872 crimping, waves produced using a hot iron, were invented and were in trend for a long time. Even today crimping is the most preferred hairstyle for young girls. In the 20th century perm was invented, a hairstyle with a permanent wave. Thereafter new trends, fashion and technical possibilities brought in various other hairstyles to add to the human personality.
The most common and popular hairstyles of the 20th century includes layers, curls, perm, sedu, steps, bun, bob cut, short haircut, long hair and many more. Fashion is at the front today giving a wider way to different hairstyles for both men and women.
During my first week of work in a museum in New York City, I discovered a fascinating set of small sculptures on exhibition. Our curator of archeology told me that these were votive offerings, imagery created with the intention of connecting with the divine. Quite simply, ancient societies offered these devotional objects as gifts to the Creator and as prayers for the fulfillment of dreams.
Such exchanges of mortals seeking favor from the divine are features of ancient and modern societies. We know that the ancient Egyptians decorated tomb walls with murals depicting the deceased enjoying the afterlife. Ex-votos are another example of a practical application of this formula for making art to gain favor with the divine and to give thanks for blessings received in this present life.
The artist as shaman or alchemist is another new old idea. Artists, like shamans, are perceived to have the ability to explore other realms of experience, tap into higher states of consciousness, and bring back eternal wisdom to share with this world. Art, therefore, has sacred abilities.
I became intrigued with the idea of art\’s sacred ability to “make magic” or to manifest. By visually portraying our dreams, wishes, needs, and desires, we could bring them from our inner worlds into our outer world. Magic! Manifesting through art! Make art! Make your dreams happen!
So with an open heart I set out to practice this sacred wisdom regarding our connection with the divine as co-creators.

Sarah and I met at an exhibition of Mediterranean landscape paintings and that evening we spoke of our mutual love for the classical art and architecture of Greece, its sweeping vistas, and the beauty of its grand civilization. As she told me of her desire to be in Greece, I could feel us standing in the sun on a rocky hillside looking out over white stucco houses that shone brilliantly against a deep blue sea and sky!
I knew in that moment that an intentional mural had the power to serve as a conduit to bring forth Sarah\’s dreams!
We began with her vision and established our intention for her mural. We developed the design and chose colors that would enhance her living space as a whole.
Upon completion, Sarah was thrilled with the beauty, elegance, and upliftment her mural brought into her family\’s home. Now she could be in her beloved Greece every day!
Then something interesting happened. Greece had become so much a part of her everyday focus that it seemed natural when out of the blue a telephone call came from an old friend. He was giving a workshop and he needed her expertise as a facilitator. Would she be interested in taking part? The workshop would take place that July in Hydra, Greece!

Intentional mural art is akin to the goals of Feng Shui art. Symbolic imagery is used to enhance opportunities, fame, fortune, career, business, success, health, love.
My buddy Rob longed for love in his life. He was in his mid-forties and had never been married. A colleague suggested Feng Shui principles as a way to energize his bedroom thereby attracting more love into his life.
This seemed to Rob like some sort of mystical interior design! But he liked the intentional mural art that I was creating and was willing to have his “fantasy painting” on a wall in his bedroom.
The focus of his painting was an embracing couple. Waking up every morning and seeing this man and woman happy and so much in love made him feel hopeful.
Living with art that portrayed his dream of love, it came as no surprise to hear good news from Rob sometime later. He had met a beautiful woman and they were getting married!

Magic? You decide. Or is this simply the way the godstuff of this world works? Imagine the possibilities…
Mural art, intentionally designed, is a very practical way to produce harmony, comfort, balance and beauty in your life space. At a deeper level and through intentional imagery, I believe mural art has the power to co-create states or conditions for the manifestation of dreams.

Unique spirituality information tells us that before we entered this physical universe we all made an agreement with God. This agreement is part of our spiritual growth and we can understand this agreement once again when we unite and become one with the source of our existence. It is a very individual journey that allows this spiritual growth to happen.
You might ask why we don\’t get this information from our religious institutions and that would be a very good question.
Religions perform an important function as a beacon of light that humans can use in their quest to understand their relationship with God. Unfortunately, religions have resorted to using fear as the tool that unites the parishioner with the parish. Religions have strayed from the teachings of the masters on whom the religions were founded. The spiritual masters who founded the major religions of the world all told us the same message.
The message is that we are one with God. Jesus, Mohammed, Krishna, Buddha, Moses, Abraham, and all the other masters told us this one universal message. We are not separate from God, we are one with God. It is the ultimate message of love. It is a message that unites us with God and with everything that exists. Most religions have found it necessary to deliver a message, or a doctrine, that keeps us separate from God, and this separation mentality is a fear based paradigm from which to live your life.
This does not change the actuality of our beingness, which is that each and every one of us is a spirit child of God possessing the same essence of God. That is who we are. That is who we really are. Always have been and always will be for eternity. Just like God.
Just as God is eternal and all knowing and creative, so are we. God created us in the image and likeness of God as part of God\’s master plan when God created the physical universe and the concept of relativity.
Remember, God created the physical universe in order to know experientially all that she knows conceptually. There is only one way for God to accomplish that. God had to create us, her spirit children, to occupy this physical plane in order to experience something that God cannot experience herself. You see, in order to experience herself as God, God has to experience herself as not God.
You see, God is God. God cannot not be God. God is the absolute and that is what God is. So, in order for God to experience herself as not God, she would have to somehow forget that she is God. There is no way for God to do that, except through God\’s surrogates, through God\’s spirit children, through us.
So, are you ready for a huge Ah-haaaaa? Here it comes.
We, as God\’s spirit children, are all made from the same stuff that God is. We all possess the same powers and abilities as God. We are all part of God. That is who we are. That is who we really are.
God\’s purpose in creating us, her spirit children, was so that we could experience in the realm of the physical universe all that God knows as concepts in the realm of the absolute. That is our purpose here in the physical relative world. We are in a giant collaboration with God. Our mission is to experience life in all of its different perspectives in order for God to know, through our experiences, all that she knows as concepts in the realm of the absolute.
How do we have these experiences? We create them. God gave us free will to create our lives as we choose. There is no agenda set out for us except what we choose as an agenda. We are free to be whomever we choose to be.
That\’s why we were created with the same powers of creation as God. We are creating machines. If this is so, then why don\’t we create a more peaceful loving world and why don\’t we create our own lives to be abundant and full of love? God would say to us, “Yes, why don\’t you? You have the absolute power to do so.”
I agree with God. If we have total choice to create our lives in any manner that we choose, and we do, then why don\’t we create our own lives to be in alignment with the highest visions that we hold for ourselves? Why don\’t we create a world society that is peaceful and loving and honors the planet that is our home instead of destroying it for short-term profits?
Once again the answers to these and all the questions that confound us lies in this beautiful concept called relativity. We know that in order for God to experience all that he knows conceptually, he would have to be able to compare God to something that God is not. God is an absolute. God cannot be what God is not, but God could make an agreement with her spirit children to forget that they are a part of God, made up of the same essence as God.
Okay, all together now, Ah-haaaaa!

Ron Paul is the right man to lead the Republican party and will be a good choice as the next president of the United States of America. Ron has an abundance of experience and education after a long political career since the late 1960\’s. Ron has a large following right across American because of his refusal to focus on minor issues and for always seeking the truth. He seems very smart on both the military and the economy and is the right man to lead America forward in to the future with the major issues continuing to arise.
The republicans need to win in to office again as there reputation under George Bush has been damaged. Ron Paul also doesn\’t agree with any thing George Bush has done in his time at office. Saying the Iraq war served no purpose that strengthened the United States of America and he is first to rubbish the current state of the American economy which has led to the world financial markets being weak and unstable at the moment.
Ron Paul being elected in November would be great news for America. Lets hope the recent news that Ron may pull out as a candidate is fake and not true. Because he has a massive fan base which will likely see him elected as the republican candidate and he has a good chance at being president. The campaign he has led is of the highest quality and lets hope we can get this honest man in to the most powerful position in the world.

My storytelling father always seemed to be able to hold our collective breaths with his tales of ghosts and the undead. You knew how effective his scary stories were by the number of under the bed inspections that were held in our house. I\’m sure my mother appreciated it since my father worked at nights at the New York Times. My father\’s imagination and storytelling were legend and so were our nightmares. Just don\’t ask me to go down to your basement.
I was listening to “The Second Half of Life” in my car last week. The author, Angeles Arrien, PH.D, talked about how Storytelling can trigger memories, associations and one\’s imagination
She went on to recount a true story by Dr. Charles Garfield who has written about high performance people.
It unfolded something like this:
Back in 1984, Dr. Garfield encountered a toll booth employee on the Oakland/San Francisco Bridge who was dancing to loud music that was blasting from his toll booth. The doctor asked what was going on. The dancing man in the booth said that he was having a party. What about the other people working in the other booths? Oh, they were not invited to his party. Loud horns blasted from impatient drivers (don\’t you just love them) and ended the conversation abruptly but the doctor made a note to find the dancing man again.
And he did.
The dance party was still going on. The Dancing man remembered the doctor and asked him what the other 16 booths looked like to him. The doctor had no clue. “No imagination, no imagination” was the reply that came from the toll booth. “Look again, look again.”
The doctor was stumped, gave up and asked for an answer from the dancing man.
“Vertical Coffins. These 16 people come to work everyday at 8:30 and die in their booths and then at 4:30 they come back to life just in time to go home. They look like Vertical Coffins.”
“What makes it different for you?” The doctor needed to know why this one man was so happy.
“I have a corner office with glass on all sides. I can see the Golden Gate Bridge, Berkley Heights, and San Francisco and while thousands of people travel everyday to visit, I get to live it. I get to dance. I get to do what I love.”
So many of us don\’t get to live the lives we are entitled to. We go by someone else\’s rules and expectations and we forget that we even had dreams that were so full of hope and adventure. We find ourselves getting by on “no imagination, no imagination” and we struggle in our own vertical coffins.
How would it feel to dismantle one or two of those vertical coffins that keep you from what you really want to do? It could be as simple as saying “No” to some of the requests that others pour on you (and not feeling guilty!) so that you can have 30 minutes to read, take a walk or just sit and listen to your own hear beat. It can be as grand as reexamining where your life is going: does the job do it for me, would going back to school open me up again or would Jimmy Choo\’s heels really make me feel better? The latter was what Gwyneth Paltrow asked me….in a dream. I assured her that they would.
So it might have been a little stretch but how about try taking a look at one of your vertical coffins and scream “boo” at it and make it go back under your brother\’s bed?

It was 1981 and we had agreed to receive the advance promotional team for “Up With People” for a 2-week stay. Their assignment was to coordinate everything for the show which included promotion and making sure all of the stage arrangements were made in advance of the touring groups arrival. The team would stay in our home and work out from there. Although this was somewhat new for both of us we were both looking forward to the boys stay.
Up With People is made up of teens and young adults that come from all over the world to gain experience putting on musical performances. The shows are uplifting, very well done and usually sponsored by groups like our Kiwanis Club. The young adults got experience traveling and singing on stage and local families got the pleasure of seeing a great show and entertaining the kids in their homes.
Hans and Eric were from Holland and Boston respectfully and were definitely high energy young men. This was their first assignment as the “Advance Team” and they were anxious to make sure that all preparations were complete before the troop arrived. They met with the manager of the civic auditorium, the coordinator/committee chairman from our Kiwanis Club and local printers to get fliers posted around the community. The boys were clearly well trained and they took their positions seriously.
In the evenings we would have a nice dinner and then chat about where they were from and what they enjoyed doing till the boys turned in early since they had a lot to do each day.
Hans approached my wife one evening and asked if there were any places where they could have a nice evening out dancing and enjoying the town. I had played in a local band for years at a very nice dinner club in southern California that was owned by a local attorney that was definitely the right type of crowd. We suggested the Tam O\’Shanter and even offered the boys to use our car.
On Saturday evening they both dressed and prepared for their night out and at about 9 PM left on their way. Eric was pretty much “ho hum” about the evening but Hans was visibly excited. We both figured him for quite a “ladies man”.
My wife and I settled in front of the TV and watched a movie till about 11 PM and then turned it. It had been a long week and she was 6 months pregnant and so getting through the movie itself was a chore before she fell asleep on my shoulder.
The next morning, I got up early to start preparing breakfast. It was around 9 AM by the time everyone arose and as the boys wandered out from their room both of us could tell that Hans was not a happy camper. As he sat at the table drinking his coffee he was not his usual bubbly-self. In fact, he didn\’t say one word. Finally I asked how the evening went last night. Eric said he enjoyed the club, danced a bit and thought the band was really good. Hans said nothing. Finally I asked Hans directly why he was not saying anything. He blurted out “I don\’t understand American women. I didn\’t get to dance once last night. They all turned me down,” he said. “In my country I am thought to be quite a catch but over here nothing!”
Bev asked Hans what happened and he proceeded to share that he would look the room over and find some ladies he wanted to dance with and then approach them asking “would like to enjoy me on the dance floor?” Say what? “Would you like to enjoy me on the dance floor?” Bev pointed out that he might want to change his approach by saying “Would you like to join me on the dance floor?” After explaining the difference, the four of us howled for a good 30 minutes. We laughed so hard we were so exhausted we all went back to bed for another hour or two and the following week we only had to look at each other and we lost it.
The show was great but the memory of that morning has never left us.

Don\’t you just love the word “tranquil.” Certain words seem to resonate with a feeling of pure contentment. Other words that come to mind are serene, calm, silence, reflective, and peaceful. It makes sense that when we think and say these words that the tranquil feeling will become a part of who we are.
Try this:
For the whole day today, concentrate only on words or phrases that bring this sense of tranquility. Make your own list. Put the list in a word file so that you can refer to it. Write it down on a plain piece of white paper with a bright blue sharpie (or a color that you like). Tape it on your refrigerator, or put it in your wallet. Or write out a couple of lists and scatter them all over-your bathroom mirror, your car, and your coffee table.
Once your mind is filled with thoughts of tranquility, begin to associate these thoughts with real world situations. What kind of images come up when you you think of the word tranquil? Here are a few that come up for me:
* A beautiful lake with two swans quietly enjoying their surroundings.
* A mother holding her baby as he coos and giggles.
* Having a picnic in the country, just you and your sweetie, under a big beautiful shade tree.
While you are practicing your tranquil thoughts come up with your own tranquil images. Do not stop at ordinary situations. Use your imagination to take you to the extraordinary.
For example:
* You are are on a path in an enchanted forest. The branches of the trees surrounding you sweep down to create a welcoming gesture. As you walk along, there is a gentle wind with the scent of lavender that creates a wonderful healing effect.
* You have the ability to fly. As you glide over valleys, rolling hills, rivers, and communities you feel one with the power of the universe. Your loving essence moves around and through you on your travels, dispensing inspirational energy wherever you go.
* You are magically brought to a large castle in a mysterious place. You are taken to an overstuffed chair in front of a roaring fire. Your host looks strangely familiar. She has a calm and sweet demeanor which instantly puts you at ease. Then one by one she leads your loved ones in (those passed). Your host sits them down opposite you in an equally comfy chair, and you commence to share your deepest feelings with each other.
This type of exercise requires that you take time for yourself. It is easy to keep to busy schedules without pausing to give thought to silly games like this. And if rushing around has worked for you, and you can honestly say you are supremely content with your high paced life - by all means, rush away.
But if you could use a little more calm or an extra dose of serenity to round out your day - stop, breathe, and reflect. Think tranquil-inducing thoughts. Exercise your imagination and dream. Allow yourself to be swept away. Your activities will still be there when you return to the material world.
Most likely you will return to them with a renewed spirit. You will tackle them with the intention of a positive spirit spreading love rather than the anxious intensity that would otherwise accompany your tasks.
Life is meant to be fun. Reflect on this. Go inside yourself (our inner source) where your high frequency energies conspire to supply you with all the creativity you need. Inspired, tranquil action is yours if you simply take the time to access your guidance.

“What Was I Thinking?! How Not to Date” author discusses her ups and downs in online dating.
Author, Annie Earley, recently penned a book “What Was I Thinking? How Not to Date” about her experiences with online dating. Earley said that the book discusses the matter with humor, but also points out the dangers. I posed questions to the author.
Q: Why did you decide to join an online dating group?
A: I decided to join an online dating group because my close friend suggested it might be a good way to meet someone. She met her husband through an online dating service.
Q: What advice would you give to women thinking about online dating?
A: Try to meet someone through a friend or just try to meet someone out and about and in person. If they really want to try online dating I would advise them to be very careful. Set up some guidelines and rules for safety and stick to them. Unfortunately, you can\’t believe everything in a potential date\’s profile.
Q: Any story that sticks out in your mind as either the best or the worst date?
A: I think the story that sticks out in my mind the most is the story about “Peter Lorre.” This story is an example of how you can think you\’ve gotten to know someone through email and on the phone, and feel that you really connect, only to find that when you meet them in person you are frightened and fearing for your safety and feeling vulnerable. When things like this happen it does not do much for your self-esteem. I found myself feeling foolish.
Q: Are you still an active member of the online dating community? Or are you in a relationship/ seeing anyone special?
A: Actually, at the end of the book it tells how I met someone special through a friend and we got married six months later. I could add that although I stated in my book that I do not believe in “head over heels,” I now know that there is such a thing as a “soulmate I met him nine months after I decided to take a break from dating and had decided to just put it in God\’s hands, so there may be some truth to the philosophy that when you stop looking, that is when you will meet someone.
Q: Why did you decide to write the book?
A: I decided to write a book about my experiences because as I was telling these stories to my family and friends the response was always the same, “You should write a book!” So I did. I also hoped that in sharing my experiences I might give someone encouragement, or at least let some men and women who are dating and going through similar experiences know that they are not alone.
Q: Why do you feel people should buy your book and how could they get a copy?
A: I feel that someone should buy my book if they are interested in trying online dating or are dating at all. Each chapter tells a story about one of the men I met or dated and contains humorous cartoons depicting some of these meetings. Some of the stories are humorous and some are not so funny. I would like to think that anyone who likes to read about relationships would enjoy it.
My book is available through Tribute Books (Eynon, PA), Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and Borders.
Q: Any final words of wisdom?
A: I don\’t know if these would be considered words of wisdom but I would say the following to anyone out there who is dating: Set standards for yourself relating to what you want in a relationship; especially how you want to be treated. Don\’t settle for less because you are afraid of being lonely. . If you are lonely, find things to do to fill your life. Have trust in yourself and put your trust in God.

The ceramic used for the plates of the flattener is actually a mineral composite called tourmaline which has some special properties. The mineral occurs in a crystal form and is naturally piezoelectric. Some electrical charge can be induced in it using some pressure and this slight charge is the remarkable aspect of the sedu iron. The term sedu itself comes from the use of this iron. The patented technology of this iron is a blend of science and innovation.
