Don\’t fret, though. If your appearance hasn\’t changed, then it\’s doubtful he\’s found you less attractive all of a sudden. If your look has changed dramatically since you started dating him, and you know it, maybe he just lost interest.

The best way to get around this problem is to simply fix whatever it is that went wrong. If you\’ve gained weight, in most cases, you can lose it again.

2. She\’s Too High Maintenance - Do you need your guy with you every second of every day? Are you preventing him from going out by himself, and getting pissed off at him when he does? If he feels like he still lives with a mum, he\’s going to run for the hills.

You should give him space, and time to himself. If you\’re always with him, and always pestering him when he\’s not, how is he ever going to miss you? The saying is true; absence does make the heart grow fonder.

Why not take up a new hobby? Not only will you have something to do while he\’s away, but you\’ll look forward to the time he\’s not around, too. You\’ll have your own \’alone time\’ that you can use to improve yourself or just have fun.

By the time you\’re finished, you\’ll be excited to see your man and tell him what you were up to while he was gone.

3. She\’s Too Flirty - This is a less common reason, but one women should be aware of. If you\’re always flirting with every guy you meet, or perhaps even cheating on him, he\’s eventually going to catch on or get fed up with it.

Even if it\’s a \’casual\’ relationship, a lot of guys won\’t like it. Some guys, of course, have no problem with it. But if your guy seems upset, and you can\’t think of a reason why, then consider who you\’ve been spending time with recently.

If a guy thinks you might be cheating on him, even if it\’s his own fault that he can\’t trust you, he\’s still going to back off and find someone he can feel more secure with.

As I always say, there are plenty more reasons why a guy might break up with a girl. Please don\’t assume it must be because of one of these 3 reasons. I don\’t want any pretty girls worrying over their looks!

However, if you do think it\’s one of these 3 reasons, you\’re luckier than most people suffering a break up; because in most cases each of these can be changed.

The photographer\’s eye is probably his greatest asset, and if you are new to photography it should be one of the first things you learn to understand. Photographers are not born with a creative eye; your eye will develop within time, and in some cases it takes a great deal of time.

Alcohol Abuse and Early Intervention

Most people, and certainly most smart people, avoid looking too closely at their alcohol use. Frequently that\’s a good idea, at least in the short run. Unhappily, over the long haul this can lead to problems, both real and mythical, that early and productive awareness might have helped avoid. The problem here is the mythology - not alcohol itself.

Most of us have been mislead into believing that the misuse, or over use, of alcohol is a progressive and irreversible condition leading - a terminal “disease” for which there is only demeaning and unending recovery, a condition many understandably consider worse than being a drunk. This situation is further muddied by most “assessments” which only serve to justify one-size-fits-all treatment that almost never includes either moderation or real recovery as options - despite the research and what we all know from experience: people make all sorts of changes with regard to their alcohol use just as they do with smoking, weight loss, and many other nagging problems.

What\’s a person to do? First, consider the following alcohol use categories: healthy, abusive, dependent, and addicted, and decide where you fit:

Healthy alcohol consumption has been found to be approximately two drinks of distilled spirits, two bottles of beer, or one half bottle of wine per day for an adult man, and half that for an adult women. These amounts confer the most health benefits without any associated detrimental effects. Obviously, not everyone consumes these set amounts, nor do most people who drink necessarily always stop at one or two. Certain social settings may find one consuming more over the duration of an event, for example, but the average should remain within the recommended parameters.

Alcohol abuse is defined as consumption which consistently exceeds the recommended levels and/or is done in isolation rather than socially. Generally these two symptoms will occur in unison but either is sufficient to cause concern. Frequent contributing factors include loneliness, exhaustion, and a paucity of peers or activities. At this stage, remediation is common enough to be the norm, with a return to healthy use the usual outcome. Counseling may expedite the process and help with the underlying causes.

Alcohol dependence occurs after long periods of excessive use leading to social, physical, and emotional dependence. Drinking becomes a primary coping mechanism across multiple categories; for example, socially, recreationally, vocationally, and spiritually. Symptoms may include physical withdrawal following cessation, depression, increased isolation, significant weight gain, decreased liver function, and possible legal, financial, and/or employment problems. As multiple problems need attention, counseling can help with the reorganization, prioritization, and systematic accomplishment of necessary changes.

While a return to moderate or healthy use is normal, a period of abstinence, possibly one to two years, is recommended. Many people who do this never return to drinking at all, having successfully modified their lives in other and more satisfactory ways.

Alcohol addiction, or alcoholism, results when a person\’s physical, emotional, and psychological being is permeated by alcohol and its consumption. Distinct withdrawal symptoms - physical (i.e. tremors, seizures) and psychological ones (i.e. blackouts) - are present and alcohol related disintegration in several areas of life (i.e. financial, legal, vocational, marital, recreational, social, medical) is present. While approximately a third of diagnosed alcoholics return to moderate drinking, this is not generally recommended.

At this stage both medical and counseling help is usually necessary given the physical, social, emotional, and psychological aspects. Recovery prospects are uncertain at best and outcomes vary. As always, motivation and a belief in personal efficacy, as opposed to “powerlessness,” are the primary factors in success.

Please remember that the three problem categories are all amenable to fixing without labels, meetings, or lifelong stigma. Alcohol abuse and dependence are particularly correctable back to healthy moderate consumption levels, and more than 58% of U.S. adults with alcohol addiction (alcoholism) that began more than one year ago were able to moderate their use by a year later (according to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism).

If you have concerns about your own situation, or that of a loved one or friend, look for help where options exist, not where a single “program” is inflicted on everyone regardless of their condition. You wouldn\’t accept a single treatment for every stage and type of a real disease like cancer, don\’t be fooled into accepting one for a non-disease like alcohol abuse.

Understanding Health Insurance - Part 1

Health insurance helps reduce medical costs (major and minor) in the event you or a loved one needs some form of medical assistance. Managing your potential risk for major medical expenses includes two things: a solid health insurance program and good self-care. While self-care is free, health insurance is definitely not. Health insurance can be purchased by the individual, provided by an employer, or can be provided through the government. This article will discuss some of the many variables you should take into consideration when deciding between health insurance programs.

Coverage Limits - There are two limits that must be noted when selecting an insurance program: coverage per year and coverage per lifetime. Coverage per year is the maximum your insurance company will pay-out for any single illness or injury. Did you get into a major auto accident this year? If your coverage per year limit was one million dollars, then the insurance company would pay up to one million dollars for your auto accident medical bills. Next year you get diagnosed with a curable disease and the new limit is again one million dollars because the events occurred in different years. Coverage per lifetime means exactly what it says: your limits are depleted as time goes by and you accrue medical bills. On a long enough time line, the lifetime limit will be reached while the coverage per year limit will be reset at the beginning of each year.

Out of Pocket Expenses - This is where co-payment comes into play. To limit your out of pocket expenses, you could select a very low co-payment so that whenever you visit a doctor or the emergency room, you will pay a flat-rate fee, such as $20 per visit. Or, you could choose a % split between you and the insurance company such as a 20/80 split. This means the insurance company will cover 80% of your medical bills while you are responsible for the remaining 20%. While the percentage split may not sound bad, it can get quite expensive if you have the need for major medical assistance such as a surgical procedure that could easily cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. When considering a health insurance program that offers a percentage co-payment, make sure there is a cap limit to your responsibility, such as $5,000 or $10,000 per year.

By having a cap in place for your responsibility, you are safeguarded from an unexpected medical emergency that could put you in debt for the rest of your life. If your insurance policy does not have a cap to your responsibility and you are unable to switch insurance carriers, you can purchase what is called an Excess Major Medical policy. This additional policy typically pays 80% of your responsibility on your first policy. For example, if you have a base insurance policy with a 20/80 percentage split and you accrue medical expenses totaling $100,000, you are financially responsible for $20,000 of that debt. With the Excess Major Medical policy in place, your responsibility would be cut to only $4,000 of that $20,000. The combination of two policies (if you can afford the premiums) can dramatically reduce your medical expenses should you require major medical attention.

Internal Policy Limits - Many smaller insurance programs contain their own internal limits beyond the per-year and per-lifetime limits. These limits could include such caps as room and board or surgical procedures. It\’s very important that you ask if these types of internal limits exist with your current insurance provider. If they do, either try to switch insurance companies altogether or in the event that you cannot switch carriers, you should purchase an Excess Major Medical Policy to help cover unexpected major medical expenses.
