Making Sense of It All
Through the moments of confusion, I dash, wondering why…

They stare back at me, releasing barrels of laughter, angering my soul.

I tread in thick water, my legs tiring as I stroke,

Screaming out with fervor at the ones around,

Ah, now it makes sense…

I wasn’t supposed to be here in the first place,

Yet I came, in spite of the surroundings,

Dreaming of days to come,

Stuck in the density around.

When ripping through the outer layers,

The thick air that surrounds me,

I wait,

And find that if I don’t fight against it,

It gives me space,

And that I can breathe -

The charges that I have claimed against my atmosphere are without ground

They stand

And do what they are charged to do.

When I submit to the comings of the tide,

I wash ashore on glorious sand, and fall to my knees in thanks.

Laughing For Life

Laughing out loud.
That is the best thing

To restore

Your peace of mind.

When you look at the things

That are out there in life

That make you upset,

Throw back your head In hearty jest,

And let anxiety leave your shoulders.

The weight bearing down on you

Will leave your presence,

And you will feel lighter.

It doesn’t take much

For the humor to return to your face.

In fact,

Whenever you live outside of your problems,

Joy will return to your heart,

And you will see the sun rise.

Dogs all in need of loving homes - each one a heart-melter.
Retrievers, terriers, spaniels, crossbreeds - one will be just right for you.
In need of a new start, and to live their lives through.
Valiant people, come forward, your heart you must lend.
Enjoy your new life, with your new four-legged friend.

This excuse for passion
map faery tale adventure
go ahead
make those ribbons sway.
Whimsical musicians artwork
Did you give thanks?
Did you think you were magic?
Whimsical sitting bride and groom
songs in the morning…
I guess I thought you were once too.

Will you run to the store for me?
whimsical musician
pick up those things I love?
Will you run?
Map a faery tale adventure?

Remind me to give you a gift in return
or at least a trace of one
this bride
this groom.
My generosity is shortcoming
fine art whimsical angel commissions
though justified in its seclusion
I think we will agree.

The breezes I find here
comforting I guess.
I thought i’d find a gift somewhere
my bride
my groom
but no.

The breezes I find here
sacred
holy
yet only
breezes.

Blood drips down from the entry
no matter the cost.
You have survived
tell me so I can sleep tonight.

There is mold on your charms
I mark the path
it is a ruthless war.

There was a stranger
I hear he was sleeping
I am bleeding
again
in the hallway
but I am none the less wiser.

Who will tell the story when blood is gone?

I’ll test your hands for bleeding
yours or mine
no going back.

You would think that someone would say something
wouldn’t you?
make a map of a faery tale adventure?
But no
no big talk here.
I will accept to sorry answers
no folded flowers
no matter the color.

or maybe me
in this comfort zone
gentle zone I formed with sand.

I’ve narrowed it down at least
made lists
still incomplete
yet I live here.
People move
pardon the mess
I am on my way
I will be whole no matter what i think right now.

Ahh the blood stain
that you left behind
you were looking for another victim
and something sacred to hide
I bend to those conclusions
yet still
all the while
I paste bandages over my mouth.

Seclusion
my martyr
do we need an ambulance?

I am still thinking of your voice
or someones
whimsical musicians artwork
yet I do not hear those good intentions
no matter how hard I listen.
They have been left by the wayside
that I am now.

This voice
it says to run.
All I can say is…
how?
You seem to see my reflection
every where I go
I do go.

This voice has rivers
it flows over
but freeze in the winter.

Where is winter?

My best friend
time out
winter
my best friend.

I am embedded in the moon
I did not admit to it before
and yet I am.

The cloud that succumbs me
hides me in the shadows.
Its not about me or you
no bell to chime.
Don’t count on me
whimsical musicians artwork
or stupid rhymes in poems.
No one that I know can feel their breathing.

Such a bad predicament
I continue to repair it.
No dollies here though
no hair to comb
no smudges patched
no
real love tells you to fly
fly
home.

I came across a woman
she shared no emotions that felt kind
not with me.
Country song lyrics came to mind.

No smiles
no eyes that said today could be special.
No energy
except for her own sullenness

her own self indulgence.

I became someone in parenthesis.
No matter my life may have in fact known darker days
she would never know.
I don’t suppose it really matters.
It is not as if she and I would ever be friends.

Yet the day would have
could have
had a softer presence.

It take so little really
just a little smile
a simple recognition.

It takes so little to rise to the occasion
see life outside of ones own breath.
Photo puzzles deciphered
country lyrics understood
just one wing in the fire.

I have thought of her
on an off
since that day I saw her sitting
slumped over
measuring my worth?
I am not sure of that.
I would not want to be unfair.

There was a breeze that day

I heard it gently in my ear.
It touched me through my hair.
I was reminded of different days
hard days
difficult days
a wing
just one left behind
and in the fire
more than a country lyric
more than a bad song.
Sad days
photo puzzles
never finding their place on the shelf.
Days I did not want to be in.

I then thought about that woman
decided to give her the benefit of the doubt
reasons to be sullen.
Paths I could not be savvy to.
One never knows.

Yet
oh
and yet
I want to feel the rain
the breeze
share smiles
no matter what.
Hope beyond
a wing that burns
have a glint in my eye
to share
even if no one looks up.

No goodbyes shall be accepted
Because wherever you are

The conventional expression
Used at parting, saying farewell
I say is not applicable here
As they say in the heart of Africa
Goodbye for now, but not forever.
Likewise shall we part physically
But know spiritually inwardly
There shall forever be a connection
A deep, lasting, unbreakable bond
Of which I shall always be fond
Wherein shall I continually find
Something to ease my weary mind
Pleasurably pass the day’s time
Rest, be content, and sublime
Entertain and enliven my heart
That from you I never depart.
Our tender hearted affection
A magnificent work of art
Though invisible to the eye
This intangible, impenetrable force
Can melt my heart, make me cry
Transcend questions as to why
Such love gives me wings to fly
Strengthens my courage like an ox
Uphold my backbone and resolve
Gives me wisdom to problem solve
Heals my wounds with anointed salve
Opens the aorta and heart valves
Embracing, nourishing, and comforting
Captivating and continually intoxicating
Enrapturing my childlike imagination
Endearing my most tender, precious trust
Though I realize one day I’ll return to dust
Than I shall bypass all of this earthly fuss
The pursuit of passions and possessions
Every evil seduction and devilish digression
For in love there is a muting of apprehension
A silencing of fear, which comes with torment
Timeless love is ongoing, indefatigably defiant
Inclusive, welcoming, not merely self-reliant
Know that when you miss me, I than am nearer
When you think of me, my voice you shall hear
My smiling face you shall suddenly happily see
As you tune in to your heart’s inner frequency
Therefore do away with goodbyes impure
True love is everlasting and always endures

An enlightening question indeed
One worth always asking yourself
Whenever tempted to withdraw
Fearfully remove yourself from
Disdain, disregard, and shun
A diligent person of purpose
Just because you simply sense
A bit of insecurity and comparison
Causing instability and apprehension
Producing timidity and alienation
A preference to shrink back
Avoid and hide in isolation
Missing a marvelous blessing
Of generative collaboration
Ingenious cross pollination
Potent and rich fertilization
Be a man and don’t run
From a divine visitation
In which a new creation
Might be gloriously birthed
Value each other’s worth
Celebrate each other’s gifts
Acknowledge and honor
Don’t be quick to dismiss
Instead of being intimidated
Arise and be greatly motivated
For many fools have deviated
Been dwarfed and diminished
By the great accomplishments
Outstanding achievements
Sacred abilities and talents

Let us be friends and not fiends

Come on y’all let’s get along
Love is far better than war
Which is rotten to the core
Let’s repent and be pure
Get right with God for sure
Turn away from wickedness
Accept people, don’t dismiss
Anyone can be righteous
In our Lord Christ Jesus!
Walk by faith not by sight
Awake everyone to get right
Before we blow this world
Completely out of sight
Living peaceably is alright
It’s far better than war’s plight
Deaths, funerals, and casualties
Loss of limbs is a painful reality
Maimed body parts, lost eyes
The brutality of war we must
Begin to disdain and despise
How long must we wait
Until we can simply realize
That there are no winners
When it comes to vile war
Don’t let politicians sell more
Push fear and arms gear
While they profit handsomely
Maneuver quietly and secretly
Becoming from arms deals
Filthy rich and very wealthy
Money under the table in DC
When will our media expose
This hypocrisy for all to see?
Most in the compromised majority
Have already sold out seemingly
Hence we never get the true story
Neither the ill effects bloody and gory
Hundreds of thousands of refugees
Innocents fleeing Iraq seeking safety
Let’s happily come together musically
Do something creatively and poetically
Inspire the warmongers to live and be
Content while we employ proper diplomacy
To rid the planet of such inhumane hostility
Gross negligence and non-stop profanity
The blood bath must stop immediately

I hear the ground

those before me
I am humbled.
I hear their voices
they speak of lost days
grim reaper artwork
so why
do I…
lose them?

I want to feel passion
I want to make it rain
yet I am almost sick of the word.
it is not enough
words not met by deeds.
Pictures cut out from magazines
pasted on the floor

I want to walk in their gardens.

I stroke my own hair
hear me breathing
I am not sure it is really me
and yet
I am a fantasy fairy in a snow filled jar.
A bench sits in the middle of the ocean
my brush is filled with aqua.
I remove tight fitting muzzles
lest bright colors fly away.
I always seem to miss the signs
and yet
I will try to spy them now
lest I die.
One cannot control adventures
nor define them
a fairies illustrations
but I will try none the less.

I count the days
grim reaper
but I am not sure why
maybe because
I count my paintings.

I hear the breaths of tombs.
They did not know their shadow
before their passing.
And ohhh…
I hear their complaints
making rain
I guess I am one.
I sing in harmony.
How many failures can one accept
and still be noticed?

Let me climb from this jar
let me taste the stamen of a flower
touch my tongue on a tiny miracle
stave off honey bees
stand firm
this story is meant for me.

Pleasantries are gone in winter
it feels too cold for smiles.
I will seclude myself
till the snow is past
and no longer floating free
in unopened jars full of water
filled to the brim with wishes
for fantasy fairies like me.

I am a tear
yet I have added a second blanket
and should be fine.

Voices
everywhere
I stop
I hear…
grim reaper illustrations
calling out for drops of water.
And ever so timely
bringing umbrellas to cover
voices from the ground.
