YTB MySpace Network Marketing Secrets

YTB or Your Travel Biz is built wonderfully for online marketing. Many network marketing companies are more geared toward building downlines offline. Not YTB. Did you know that Myspace.com has over 200 million people listed? What if you can use Myspace.com to market your network marketing business?

There are a lot of courses and advice from many many people on how to effectively market myspace. In this article I want to share with you some secrets that I have learned and how I have capitalized on this awesome website.

First, let me say that in network marketing one of the main problems I’ve heard from other people is that they run out of people to talk to. The Internet has changed all that. People should not have to worry about finding people to talk to. Myspace.com is just one social networking website, there are thousands. Myspace.com has over 200 million people that you can potentially network with.

When creating your profile you want to be as genuine as possible. You do not want to sound like spam. Myspace will delete your profile if too many people complain. In the about me section I share a few words about myself and my background. I also upload a brief video of myself by using my webcam. I post this video in the about me section. Video is a powerful medium on myspace because it allows people to connect with you on a personal level. In my video I take a brief minute and advertise my blog or another website.

I have also gone to youtube and found a video I liked and then posted it on my myspace profile. You do this by going to youtube, finding the video you like and copying and pasting the embed code on the right of the video. You paste this code in your myspace profile.

A good place to find free layouts for your myspace profile is ironspider.ca. You will need to copy the code and paste it in your myspace about me box.
Once you have a decent looking profile set up with good content you are ready to start adding friends. On Myspace you can use four ways to market your profile.

1. Adding friends
2. Leaving comments
3. Leaving Bulletins
4. Classifieds

Working myspace can turn into a fulltime endeavor if you work at it consistently. I try to automate this process as much as possible. I ‘m currently using software that will automatically trap profiles and automatically send out friend requests, comments, and bulletins. Even though the software has drastically reduced my time I still spend around two hours every day working myspace.

You can do a google search and find good software or you can just do the work manually. However, the software I purchased was only $60.00. The amount of time is saves me is invaluable.

To generate massive traffic to your profiles you want to set up at least five separate profiles and beginning marketing to all five on a daily basis. I send out 200 friend requests each day per profile, I also send out generic positive (not spam) comments to all my friends. I also send out one bulletin a day to all my friends and I have a few classified ads running.

200 friend requests spread out over five profiles is 7000 requests a week. This will generate a lot of free targeted traffic to your websites, blogs, etc. The financial potential you have is great. My personal conversion rates using myspace are higher than using Pay Per Click marketing. I spend hundreds a month on PPC and I spend nothing on myspace.

If you are marketing the YTB opportunity like me I have had free exposure by offering my travel store to all my friends. When they book travel at my site, I get paid. Also, the friends I build a more personal relationship with I introduce to the YTB business opportunity. I encourage you to start adding myspace to your marketing strategy if your currently not using it.

The Path of an MLM Leader

We have all heard of it, but very few have seen it! What
am I talking about? You know the moment after many months
maybe years of hard work, of being in the trenches
recruiting, and finally the day comes that your downline
becomes self sufficient. You have recruited and coached
enough of the right people that your home based business
can run without your supervision! Everyone looks up to you
and calls you a success!

Isn’t that the reason we are all in Network Marketing for?
However, most people think that success comes overnight.
They like to think that they can get into Network Marketing
make good money and get out before anyone finds out! :) It
just doesn’t happen that way. I was again reading this
book last week called The Wave 4 Way to Building Your
Downline by Richard Poe. This is an excellent book, if you
have not read it you should diffidently make it part of
your library. In it the author mentions what Sales
Motivator Giant Zig Ziglar likened success to. He said it
was like an old-fashion well hand pump.

You see when you use well hand pump you first have to put
a little water in it to get it primed. He explained this
is like anything else in the world… you have to put a
little something in, something of value before you can
expect to get anything back for yourself. Then with a well
hand pump you have to pump and pump and pump, it takes a
while for that water to start filling up that pipe and come
out of the ground. The same thing happens in our business.
We feel like we have put in so much effort in our first and
second month and all we see is a trickle. But, if we keep
putting in the right actions, keep slowly pumping away, by
the end of your first 90 days we start to see awesome
results! More and more water comes out and it even seems
easier to pump.

What would happen though if we start pumping and then stop
before a lot of water starts to come out? If we wait too
long we would have to start from scratch all over again.
Now, not only is that not fun it could be right down
frustrating! If you have to start from the beginning too
many times you probably are going to quit and say the pump
is not working for you, when in reality the water was just
about to start flowing. That is what they mean when they
say you can only fail if you quit. I like to think you
also fail if you don’t keep doing the right things over and
over again until you finally get your reward.

There are many parts to a leader. One of the biggest is
to show by example that it can be done, and then make it
easier for the next person that comes to that hand pump by
keeping it going so that they don’t have such a hard time
in the beginning. You see by you never stopping the pump
you have made it easier for them to follow your example.

The one big thing I have learned from hanging around and
asking questions of leaders is that you are not born a
leader. You become one. Not only that, but it is
something that has to be learned and can be learned. Sometimes
it takes your circumstances to change for you to change and
want to become a leader, but if you want it bad enough the
path for you to become an Internet Network Marketing leader
is there for you. All you have to do is learn the right
things to do, and then don’t stop until you have helped
enough people keep their pumps going long enough for them
to have a ton of water coming out. That is the only way you
will one day know what it feels like to be known as
the leader that made it happen for them.

Then you will know you have reached that moment where
everything you have been working for finally happens!

Choosing Your Target Audience

Before you ever write a marketing script for the telephone, before you ever create an online marketing campaign, before you ever start marketing your business in general you must make sure that your campaign has the right prospects. Is your specific target audience being exposed to your product’s message?

Who is your target audience?

The answer to this question varies a lot from the typical question of “who can benefit from your products and services?” in which case the most common response, for most network marketers, is “everyone.” The idea that everyone can benefit from the product or service that you are offering and that everyone is your target audience, may be somewhat true but if you spent 30 hours a week trying to tell “everyone” about what it is that you have to offer, you may still have no one interested at the end of the week.

But how can that happen?

“My product is supposed to sell itself”

One of the reasons is probably because you haven’t mapped out exactly who your specific target audience is.

I am going to ask you some questions about your product or service and I want you to answer as specifically and as honestly as you can to make the most of this exercise. Oh by the way, I want you to focus completely on your product here and forget that you have an opportunity altogether.

What are some of your prospects fears?

Is your product something that your target audience has a want for? Or is it a
need?

What is your target audiences’ age range? Meaning what is the age group of the
people who would most likely benefit from my product or service?

What are the Benefits of the product or service you are marketing in relationship to your target audience?

Often times we as network marketers get so caught up in trying to implement the newest and greatest marketing techniques, that we turn our backs on the basics. Think about it this way. If you are marketing dog collars, would it make sense to advertise in a magazine devoted to women’s cosmetics and jewelry? Absolutely not! This is an extreme example but the truth is that even if you are off by a little bit in locating who your specific target audience really is, it can be very costly and ineffective.

Revive Your Home Business and Retire Early

Let’s face it, if you put off talking to everyone you know because you might be afraid of what they might think of you and your business, then you can never expect to achieve the level of success that others have when they have talked to everyone they know. The contact list is the life blood of any mlm business, and to be hesitant to work through the list is a good way to lose any momentum and a reason to just quit like so many have in the past. How do you get past this problem, revive your home business, and retire early?

With the internet, e-mail, and software available, today is a new day in network marketing. No more bothering friends and family and trying to convince people against their will to join your business. You now have the ability to post your business out there in cyber space and find that there are people who actually want to join your business. This may be just the answer for you to revive your business and get you over the hurdle that’s been keeping you from earning the income available in your home based business. But how do you get started?

If you’re already involved in a network marketing company that you want to stick with, you’ll want to find someone in your upline who is also marketing your business online and ask them to help you get started and teach you what you need to know to be successful marketing on the internet. If you can’t find someone in your company to help you, it may be a situation where you need to search for a new program to join with someone who is already successful marketing online. Ask them questions about how much they’re willing to help you. Remember, you should interview them since it’s their level of generosity and ability that will impact what kind of training you’ll receive.

In addition to the training you receive from your new mentor, go online to educate yourself about how to market your business. It’s great to have an attractive website with all the bells and whistles, but it won’t do you any good if you don’t know how to drive traffic to it. There are many resources online to help you learn how to get the most exposure for your efforts. Your local library is full of great how to books. Subscribe to an internet marketing magazine since they’ll keep you informed of new methods and ideas.

Do not skimp on learning all you can about marketing online because you only need to learn it once and when you find your niche, you’ll be able to increase traffic to your site whenever you want which is like giving yourself a big enough raise to retire early.

Above all, keep it as fun as possible. If you find everything about your business to be a chore, you’re likely not to stick with it. So pick an industry you know something about and have a passion for since its your passion and level of knowledge that will come through to people who will call to join you.

VemmaBuilder Lead Generation!

Why Blow All Your Money On Generic Leads. The step to follow when sending targeted traffic to your landing page is as follows. The whole concept of marketing is to find a targeted group of people who want what you have or who can benefit from what you have to offer and place a web address in front of them. This is called super targeted traffic for a Vemma business. What I see most of these distributors are doing is buying VemmaBuilder preenrollees and sending them to their marketing system.

The truth about these preenrollees is they are people that have no idea what business they are looking to start. Or In many cases they are given incentives to subscribe as a lead. This is not a targeted prospect. Instead a very curious & skeptical prospect who most likely will not remember requesting information about a Vemma business. Also understand that buying preenrollees, that you have really no idea were their coming from or how their generated. This puts you in no control when running your business.

VemmaBuilder lead generation is a skill that many distributors are learning. Here’s my question to you. If you were the owner of a NFL football team and were looking for the best qualified quarterback for your team, would you place an ad in your local newspaper. Of course not! You would most likely go to the Colleges or look at the players that are already in the NFL who have no contract and look to recruit them instead to play for you. Why? Because they have the most experience and are the best qualified.

So who are the best qualified for a network marketing business? These would be other people who have experience in our industry. Therefore, why would anyone want to waste all their advertising dollars on buying VemmaBuilder preenrollees or other generic leads from a lead company when they don’t have the experience or qualifications for your team? You will see more upgrades and people joining your team by learning how to find the right kind of red-hot targeted MLM prospects for your business and sending them to your VemmaBuilder marketing system.

Is Power Prospecting System A Joke?

This System Is Not A Joke And Should Be A Tool Every Network Marketer Must Have In Their Internet Network Marketing Tool Box. I have used most of the lead generation funded proposal systems out their. The PPS is by far the most effective out their. Let’s talk about what a funded proposal is. It’s a system that puts you in a position to generate the highest quality prospects that are exclusive to you and at the same time, those prospects will pay for themselves. It’s a super charged lead generation system that will build your own list of red-hot prospects. Their are many systems like this on the Internet. However none of them put the user in the spot light. The first lesson of marketing is to market yourself and not your primary company or anyone else. Other funded proposal systems are really branding the creator of the system every time you go out and promote it. The more you brand another individual, the more people will see them as the expert and not you. They will then seek them out for mentorship.

Power prospecting system and its components brand the user of the system in every way. In other words, this puts the user in a position as the expert. When you put yourself in that position then people will want to contact you. The whole point of a funded proposal system is to help offset your marketing cost, build a marketing budget, provide the highest quality of marketing and training and at the same time build your own customer list. Building your own customer list of targeted prospects that know you as the expert is the most important activity all network marketers should focus on. My question is this. Would it make sense to use all your time money and effort to brand someone else, and have them be seen as the expert so people seek them out or does it make sense to put yourself in that position. You be the judge!

File It in a Plastic Bag

INTRODUCTION:

In the early 1980s, my wife and I became involved in a home business and have pursed additional streams of income via a number of home businesses ever since. Some were network marketing organizations as well as other home-based businesses including newspaper and Internet advertising. We prepared packaged and mailed newsletters, information and sample packets and fliers. In all these years, I studied and tried out many ways to track and record expenses and income as well as becoming familiar with the necessary forms required for filing income tax returns. During this period, I also added a Masters of Business Administration degree to my engineering degrees. Part of this Masters’ course included two accounting courses.

The home business entrepreneur will also want to track income, cash flow and may even want to develop a balance sheet that keeps track of the assets and liabilities associated with the business. Forms and processes for these accounting aspects are beyond the scope of this article. I do provide an example of Capital Items Depreciation tracking form that I use in our home business.
I want to make it clear from the outset that I am not a professional tax consultant; however, I have thirty-plus years in corporate management and retired as a Senior Consultant from a world-class consulting company. I have applied the skills acquired during these business experiences in our home businesses. My goal in this publication is to share some insights and actual practical processes that will make your home business more effective, especially in the area of tracking and reporting expenses.

Some might think that they don’t need to spend any time tracking their home business expenses since at the end of the year they take the shoe box stuffed with business receipts to their accountant and let him/her figure it all out. This is certainly a possible approach to record keeping; however, if you pay your accountant by the hour or even by the job, it is quite possible that your accounting costs may be considerably less if you use the simple and effective system described below. Also, you might even have a happier accountant!

This is the first of two articles and it addresses Preparation. The next article s will discuss the Implementation tools and strategies that I use. It is certainly important that one takes the necessary actions to prepare, and after adequate preparation, move forward with actual implementation. I will also provide examples of the actual forms that I use so you can see how they will work for your home business. Let’s get started so you can learn how to “File it in a Plastic Bag!”

PREPARATION:

LEGAL STATUS OF YOUR BUSINESS:

There are many publications available on the Internet and in your local library that can help you to decide what legal form (entity) you would want to take for your home business. Our home business was treated as a “Sole Proprietorship” for years, but in 1996, we decided to have our business entity operate as an “S Corporation”. Some “experts” have suggested that when a home business achieves $1000 per month in income, it is time to address the legal status of one’s business.

The main reason we chose to incorporate was for my wife to become an employee of the corporation. Her salary would become an expense of the company and her Social Security deductions would be shared equally with our corporation. The downside of having our small home business operate as an S corporation is the filing of additional federal and state income tax forms and payments. The annual income from an S corporation is reported along with other personal income on the Federal 1040 form, and this additive income (or loss) is also reflected on State income tax forms.

If one wanted to incorporate, it is very easy to do this with reputable on-line companies such as www.legalzoom.com. The www.irs.gov website has a list of commonly filed income tax forms, and you can find similar lists for your state forms.

TRACKING EXPENSES:

For years, I tried various ways of tracking the expenses associated with running our home business. First of all, I had to better understand legitimate reportable business expenses. Then I reviewed our own business expenses and investigated tracking methods and forms that would apply to a home business. Then, once I better understood these expenses, I searched for the “perfect” tool for posting and tracking business expenses. I found that for our small home business, expensive income & expense tracking software programs didn’t add much value to the enterprise. Others might argue that a software program is the only way to operate and I say to them, “Go for it, and use what works the best for you!” With this in mind, I am in no position to recommend any small business software to be used for your home business. I AM in position to provide you copies of the paper forms and description of the procedures that I use to easily keep track of our expenses and tax filings. These worksheets are in such a format that I can easily transfer information from them to income tax forms. (I download Federal and State income tax forms in the Adobe format and enter our information when it is tax preparation time. Then, I submit our forms in a paper format after making copies for our files.)

One can study all of the possible expenses that might be tax deductible and choose to include these on a tax form. However, the only yardstick I use to determine if an expense is a reasonable home business tax deductible entry is the “Eyeball-to-Eyeball Auditor Test”. I have studied various government produced income tax publications as well a stack of income tax preparation guidebooks produced by “experts”. From these studies, I have listed the various expense categories that I think apply to a home business. As I look at each expense category, and each of our own business expenses posted, I ask myself this question: “If I had to sit across the table in a meeting with an IRS auditor, could I honestly explain the nature of this expense and why it was associated with our home business?” If the answer is “yes”, then that expense item is posted. If the answer is “no” or there is any grey area applied to the reasoning, I don’t post it. Others may want to push the envelope, but I don’t operate our business in this manner. The choice is for each of us to make.

SIMPLE PROCEDURES WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

I learned as a Senior Consultant that when analyzing an enterprise; be it a Fortune 100 company or a one person home business, the focus of attention is on three major areas: people, process and technology. For your home business, YOU are the “people” part of this analysis. Your attitude and dedication to making your home business successful are critical success factors.
Likewise, you could be the most dedicated entrepreneur on the planet and experience disappointment in your home business due to poor processes and/or inadequate supporting technology. Even with great processes in place, supported by effective technology, the entrepreneur must dedicate time, effort, education and learning to the enterprise.
The tracking of your home business income and expenses will be much easier if you:

Save all of Your Receipts

The one rule that ALL should agree on is to DOCUMENT all of your expenses, and the best documentation of an expense is a receipt or a paid invoice! Get in the habit of saving all of your receipts and posting these receipts as soon as reasonably possible. (The same procedure should apply to the tracking of your business miles incurred while using your personal automobile.) Keep the receipts in a common place. I will provide you a very easy, low-tech procedure for keeping and tracking your expenses.

Set up a Separate Business Bank Account

All major business purchases should be paid for out of a separate bank account and/or a separate charge card. We have a separate business checking account that we use to write checks for distinct home business expenses. Our business account doesn’t pay any interest so we keep just enough money in it to cover monthly expenses. The net profit we make from our home business is deposited into an interest paying savings account. We also have a separate Visa card that we use solely for business expenses. When the Visa bill arrives, we pay for these charges by a check from our business banking account. The monthly check postings and charge card bill are excellent documents for cross checks with existing receipts.

Set up a Separate Charge Card

As I mentioned above, we have a separate Visa card that we use for specific business expenses. For example, since we use one of our vehicles primarily for business activities, we use the business Visa card for gasoline purchases as well as tire and maintenance expenses. (When I complete our income tax forms, I calculate the total business miles compared to the total miles the vehicle was driven during the year, and this percentage is applied to all vehicle expenses. More on this in the specific expense category discussion.)

Dedicate a Time to Post Your Expenses

All of us have a full busy life, and if you have a full time job in addition to your home business, it is very easy to find better things to do with your spare time than posting business expenses in a log. However, if posting expenses is a drag, then I will ask you, “Why did you get into a home business in the first place?” Many home businesses fail because the new entrepreneur doesn’t really treat the effort as a business. If part of your regular job includes the posting of your groups’ business expenses weekly, you would set up a specific time to complete the task and the task would probably be done in a quality and effective manner. In my supervisory jobs, I was either a “reviewer” or “approver” of business expenses, and the company had specific rules for which expenses required receipts. Their rules were primarily based on IRS rules. For example, all business meals over $25.00 had to have a receipt. On the receipt or a separate piece of paper, the purpose of the meal and names (and titles) of the meal participants were required. Also, as a reviewer or approver, I had to dedicate time to process the vouchers and bills or I would have some unhappy employees and/or suppliers! As an employee of a company, I had to document my trip expenses and submit an expense form and receipts in a timely manner. As an entrepreneur, you have to take keeping track of business expenses seriously.

To this day, my wife or I provide adequate documentation on every business meal receipt. Also, I suggest that you post your home business expenses at least once a week and have this task as a high priority. Posting home business income and expenses should not be the last thing you do in your busy day’s activities. You will need some brain activity to do this task, and if it is done in a tired, distracted or angry state of mind, errors will occur creating extra work at some later time. Your home business may be so small at the beginning that posting expenses bi-weekly or monthly will work; however, since you want your business to be successful and grow, getting in the habit of posting expenses on a weekly basis will eliminate a possibly painful transition as your business becomes more successful.

SUMMARY:

The next article will discuss the Implementation part of this simple procedure. You will learn about the use of five forms and the simple filing system for receipts has worked well for our home businesses. The forms provide a clear record as well as tools for analysis of the profitability of the business. Best of all, the receipts and forms are filed in a plastic bag!

Truth on MLM - This Mistake Almost Guarantees Your Failure

There was a time in my life I gave up on setting goals in MLM, because it seemed I never achieved any of them.-I can’t tell you how many times I targeted myself to knock on a certain number of doors every day. But after one or two people looked cross at me, I was finito. Done for the day.

Usually done for the next day, too.

In some cases, I was done with the entire business!

I Never Ever Considered Suicide

A slow, agonizing, miserable death was much more my style.

I wasn’t a salesman and would NEVER be a salesman. Setting sales-oriented goals was ridiculous, but I did it time after time after time, always thinking, “THIS time it’s different.”

Instead, every MLM goal just meant more frustration & more failure in my life. Who needs that?

And maybe worse, it convinced me that goal-setting doesn’t work.

But the truth on MLM is, you must begin with an Action Plan that you can and will actually, honestly do. And then there’s an art to setting goals. Goals work great if you choose the right kind of goal.

Somewhere along the way, I read an article by some brilliant person, whose name I don’t remember. And what this guy suggested was to set “activity goals.”

In other words, the first thing you do is think really hard. Research and investigate and ask questions of successful network marketers. Develop a step-by-step Action Plan, if you don’t already have one. Then you’ll know what activities will get you where you want to be.

Then you simply target yourself to do a certain amount of those activities every day. Maybe it’s 3 hours. Or 25 letters. Or 5 emails. Or 20 phone calls. Every day.

Results Don’t Matter!

The fact is, results will be invisible for some period of time. So pay no attention to results while you’re learning the process. while you’re learning the process. What matters is that you MUST do actions that have been tested & proven over time to get results.

There’s a subtle but crucial difference here between activity goals & result goals. For instance, in network marketing, you’re setting yourself up for a loss if you start by saying, “I’m going to make $50,000 in my business this year.”

How do you possibly plan and achieve that? You’ll be starting slowly, because you have no customer base. You have no one who will re-order.

Another problem with goals is that they imply limitations. At best, when you reach a goal, you have to re-figure your next goal.

So the truth on MLM is, if you simply target a certain number of certain activities (that you KNOW you can do) each and every day, you’ll never run into that problem. As your business grows, other activities will occur for you to do, and you can target those, too. Your group will grow, you will grow as a person, and that’s exactly what this business is all about.

Richard Dennis believes network marketing is a relationship business, not a sales business. You can get a free copy of Richard’s “74 MLM Big Money Tips” at http://GoSuccessTeam.com/74R5.html.

An MLM Goldmine Buried In Your “Inner Muck”?

A basic reason so many people fail in MLM is that their heart isn’t in it. They want to make extra money, they NEED to make extra money, they want to do it on their own, no boss, work their own hours, be able to do what they want when they want, go on vacations when they want, all the stuff associated with MLM success … but for whatever reason they have no passion for their company, and it’s obvious.

When you talk to an MLM prospect, you need a mix of objectivity and passion. You have to be objective, because hype will turn off your prospect. You have to be passionate, because if you aren’t, how can they get excited? It can be a tough line to walk at times, but you must figure it out, if you want to be successful.

It May Seem Obvious, But Passion Is Not Logic

They are two separate parts of your presentation. You build your team one person at a time. And what you say to that one person is your own emotional outpouring of words, feelings and impressions.

People make decisions based on emotion. If you want a person to make the decision to join your team, you have to get them into an emotional frame of mind.

Picture your network marketing prospect. They are stuck. They are slowly going down the drain financially (or maybe not so slowly). Then the car broke down, and it’s $1,200 to repair it. They’ve got to have more income. Their spouse is very nervous. The kids KNOW there’s a problem. Then, to the amazement of their family, they find YOU and your team - who actually train them and help them build that income source they need so desperately. A dream? Absolutely not!

You’ve got to understand their struggles and make sure they know it. And show them that when they join you and the rest of your team, many - maybe all - of the reasons for their struggles will be over.

They could never get their questions answered before? You have an online forum, open 24/7, with hundreds of participants ready to answer any question.

The marketing materials those other companies put out never worked? You have marketing specialists on your team, people trained to create marketing documents that get results. You’ll provide them at no charge.

Their upline never trained them? You provide 17 MLM training calls every week, and if their schedule doesn’t fit, audio files of the calls are available online.

They burned all their friends and family? You provide a tested, proven lead generation system they can use to find a never-ending stream of interested people to talk to.

Sure, these dialogues are examples of logic … but they are real answers to a very emotional prospect question: Can anybody help me be successful in network marketing?

Each Word You Use Has an Emotional Attachment

It’s almost like a short story. John Caples, a legendary direct marketer, once changed a single word in an ad (”repair” became “fix”) and he got a 20% increase in response. You can Google-search “powerful selling words” and find lists of words with strong emotional appeal.

Can you be more emotional when talking to an MLM prospect? Just dig deep into your “inner muck” and find your own powerful emotion, then communicate THAT to your prospect.

When you nail it, you will know!
