Affiliate marketing is a very successful method of promoting and selling items in the marketplace. This commercial strategy is employed both online and offline. Companies, organizations, and individuals all use this marketing technique to promote products, services, and programs.

What is affiliate marketing? Let’s examine a very basic model. A company has a product that it has developed and realizes that the new product will require special marketing methods to make it successful in the marketplace. The company engages affiliate marketers to promote and sell the new product. The affiliates are paid a commission when they make a sale.

This example outlines the role of the affiliate marketer. However, the experienced affiliate will only promote products that are part of an affiliate program that also involves “residual income”. This method of compensation is of benefit to all parties involved.

Affiliate Marketing utilizing 2 different compensation plans:-

Plan #1 - This plan calls for the affiliate to promote the product in the marketplace. When the sale is made, the affiliate is paid a commission. This means that after each sale, the affiliate has to find a new prospect that then can be turned into a satisfied client. To earn more money, he must start the process all over again.

Plan #2 - Residual income is what creates the difference between these 2 plans. Let me explain. The same new product that is in plan #1 can be marketed using Plan#2 as a compensation plan. The affiliate is paid a commission at the time a sale is made. And he also receives an on-going commission.
As an example, the company sells their new product outright. This product requires future servicing and maintenance. The affiliate sells the service contract to the new client when the new product is sold.The service contract is payable on a monthly basis. Each and every month the affiliate marketer is paid a commission, for as long as the contract remains in effect.

In each of these plans, the affiliate marketer is paid for his efforts. Plan#1 is simply one sale, one commission, and start all over again. Plan#2 is much more interesting, and not just for the affiliate. The
affiliate will receive more and more commissions as every month more clients are sold the new product.
The company also gains by using a commission plan with residual income as a means of compensation.
As the monthly residual commissions increase, the affiliate has more reason to continue promoting the product. This in turn helps the company as they then retain the services of successful and experienced
marketers, to further promote their product.

Affiliate marketing is a tried and proven method for the successful promotion of Internet products and services. When this marketing technique is teamed up with a proven home based business, it is a formula for success. Residual income has a definite role in making the success even better for all partners in the plan.

Project Payday is a concept that I am sure not too many people actually thought of as a way to
make money, but some people are doing just that. You need to know ,however,that it is very
tedious work that takes a lot organization and time. So if what you are looking for is a method
that utilizes your “spare time” this probably isn’t for you.

Project Payday focuses around using IFW’s, incentive freebie websites, to make money. There
are many websites out there that “give away” items like a free ipod, xbox, computer, cash prizes,
or whatever. These sites are known as or IFW’s. I’m sure you have seen these sites all over the
web. I’m also sure that you probably just ignored them like I did thinking they were a scam.
Well they are not! They actually do let you earn these things,however there are certain

money) you have to complete trial offers. Then you have to refer a certain amount of people to
also complete the offers.

The Project Payday program is based around using these IFW websites to earn money. They
supply you with a members forum where you meet the contacts that help you on your way, as

forums available to do the same thing. The Free Lunch Forum(Project Payday) is specifically

Now you could sign up for these sites on your own but why would you when someone is willing
to pay you to sign up as a referral.

In order to “go green” on most of these freebie sites you will have to complete several offers to
get one credit because the offers are worth 1/4,1/3,1/2 credit each. So as you can see you could
have as many as 4 different trial offers going to get your payment of say $20. Now you are free to
cancel the offers at the end of the trial period so they won’t cost you anything, but you can see
how time consuming this can be. However, even though you are getting paid for this, the object
is to get registered with these web sites so you can do the referring. That is where the money is
hiding!

Method Two involves getting paid for referrals. Like I said, here is where you are going to make
some serious money. In addition to earning products such as an Xbox, all these sites offer cash
gifts for sending them referrals. If you pick a $300 reward for 5 referrals and you pay each of them
$20, it cost you $100 to get $300, a clear profit of $200. The Project Payday and other forums
supply you with all the referrals you will ever need. The down side is , as I mentioned before, it
takes a lot of time and documentation to do the business and sometimes the offer confirmations
take a while so it isn’t always instant money.

RECOMMENDATION

Project Payday is extremely tedious and takes a lot of time. If you are looking for a part-time
way to make some extra bucks, it is a legitimate method of making some money. If you are
looking for an income that you can consider your “making a living”, this isn’t it.There are other
ways to make money online that require less time and have the potential to make alot more
money. With Project Payday I see the potential to make $500-$2500 a month, but that’s working
20-40 hours a week. Nice if you are looking for something extra, but I wouldn’t count on it for
the long haul.

Don’t be afraid to give it a try at Project Payday because you can try it for free by signing up for a
trial offer they have available. Give it a serious try, but if it gets to be too much just cancel the
offer and move on. I found it just too time consuming for me, but then I am an impatient man.

Affiliates, Are You Making These Big Mistakes?

As with most things in life, the majority of mistakes we make are from inexperience. Affiliate marketing is no exception. I know, I have been there. I have thought that I could make as much money as I could as quickly as I could with the least amount of effort.

I have ended up being disillusioned, frustrated, even angry that I have not made serious money within a few days.

For those that are new to affiliate marketing, the whole internet thing can seem too good to be true. Running a real business from home that makes you more then enough money to live on.

It is true. It is possible. However, when you read about some of the top internet and affiliate marketers making thousands overnight, there is one very important thing that you need to bear in mind. These guys have served their time. It takes three common but necessary attributes to succeed in affiliate marketing. It takes hard work, dedication and the ability to focus, focus on what’s important.

So, what are the big mistakes we should avoid when building an affiliate marketing business?

Well, the first answer is in the question. We need to focus on building a business, not trying to make a quick buck.

Making mistakes when you start a new business are quite common. It’s happens to all of us, so don’t get bent out of shape when it does. Even when the business is established, more mistakes will be made. What separates the successful from the also rans is how we deal with the mistakes. With patience and due diligence, many of the mistakes that are made can be avoided quite easily.

What is it then that makes some affiliate marketing businesses work and makes many affiliate marketing businesses fail?

Patience is vital. Building on the point I made earlier, the best affiliate marketers have taken time to build their customer base. The people that are truly making $10,000 a month and more in affiliate marketing spent years getting there, not weeks or months, years.

You need to stick at it. In the past, I have dropped affiliate programs because they were not making me money quickly. It wasn’t their fault, it was mine. That doesn’t mean that we should stick with an affiliate program for ever. We need to track performance over time, make sure we do enough research before selecting the affiliate program we wish to promote and give it a fair go.

You need to make sure that you effectively pre-sell the product, detail the benefits (not the features) and show how this product solves your visitors’ problem. Also, change your website content on a regular basis, update your site at least weekly.

Decide what’s right for you. I know it can be tempting to go for the ‘big commissions’, 60%, 70% and in some cases now even 100%. Try and make your life as easy as possible. To pre-sell effectively, you need to, at the very least, understand the affiliate program you are thinking about promoting.

Practical examples - if you know a lot about fitness or weight loss there are a number of programs you can subscribe to and you will have the expertise to pre-sell most effectively. On the other hand, if you have no knowledge at all of mechanics, it could be extremely difficult to sound convincing and credible to your visitors just because you want to promote a racing car program offering 80% commission. You get the drift.

O.K. lower commissions mean lower earnings. Believe me, however, in the long run once your credibility and expertise is known, you will look forward to repeat business and will be more profitable over time.

Another huge mistake that many affiliate marketers make is trying to promote too many programs at once. By doing this, it makes it very hard to provide solid pre-selling content relating to all of these programs at once. The net result is that site visitors end up being totally confused as to what it is your site is really about and what preferred action you wish them to take. Your visitors end up leaving your site without buying.

You should only subscribe to two or three programs at once.

This will allow you to focus on these programs so you can start earning affiliate revenue sooner rather than later. Patience is, again, very important. Either through inexperience or fear of not making any money, it may seem that the best thing to do is load your web pages with a score of affiliate programs. Don’t. If your website is focused on providing related but limited solutions to help your visitors deal with the problem that attracted them to your site initially, You will stand a far better chance of making sales.

Be aware of the competition in your chosen area of expertise. Even if you are focusing on tight niche, it is likely that you will have competitors who are also promoting the same or similar affiliate programs. Also, be aware that visitors will visit a number of sites that may come up after a search for their chosen keywords.

Your job is to be as unique as possible. Don’t use the same copy as everyone else because it was supplied by the merchant of the affiliate program. Write your own content, add value, build credibility and trust. Over time, visitors will know who to go to, who provides added value and who they will buy from. Make it you.

Building your targeted list is an absolute must.

Think about it. You have a great site, you get tons of visitors, you do a fantastic job of pre-selling, your visitors take your call to action and then what? You send them off to the merchant’s site who sells the product.

Great, you get the commission ONCE. The merchant captures the buyers’ details and you don’t! Massive mistake. You have got to try and capture your visitors’ details by inviting them to sign up for your newsletter, course, free giveaways for example. Once you have captured their details because they opted to do so, you now have the opportunity to contact them regularly without spamming. But…

You want to keep them subscribed. So, again, make sure you are adding value, providing solid information, keeping your subscribers well informed as well as recommending your products (as long as they are totally related). Make the effort, differentiate yourself from the others, and you will get the rewards you deserve.

You must be able to entice your visitors to keep coming back to your site and of course click on your affiliate links. So rather than relying on one-time

Visitors to keep coming back, use an opt-in form to capture their contact emails. However no one will simply offer their emails like that, you need to give them something in exchange, like a gift. Tell them they can receive a special gift by filling in their name and email address.

Once they opt-in, send them to the download page for the gift. Alternatively, you can direct them to the merchant you are promoting and send them the gift in one of your follow up messages later.

Now that you have a list of opt-in subscribers, you can send them any messages any time you want, including special offers or other products you are promoting in your niche.

The Third Important Foundation - Targeted Traffic

At the end of the day, what is the most important to your success is targeted traffic. Learning
how to attract interested people to visit your site is an on-going process and nothing beats
free and targeted traffic.

This is where Search Engine Optimization (SEO) comes in. A high ranking on the first or second page of the search engines will give you an endless flow of free targeted traffic. But it’s easier said than done.

The key to ranking high for a particular keyword in your niche relies on link popularity. Who and how many are linking to you. If many highly ranked sites are linking to you. This is important because you need both quantity and quality. And one-way links are the most prized.

But which high ranking sites will link to a new site like yours? Don’t panic, you can always start off with a reciprocal linking exercise. First link to others, then ask if they will link back to you. If not just remove their link from your website, if yes then you are on your way to getting ranked. Of course reciprocal linking is a whole area of study in itself which I will not deal with here.

One way of getting one-way links is to submit articles to various directories. This is one of most popular method used by marketers. You one way links back to your site and you get exposure to targeted traffic.
