Jaded Tasks - Brass Plates, Black Ops, and Big Oil

Jaded Tasks by Wayne Madsen is an excellent book. Like a nice cold Coca Cola squirted straight up your nose, this book will have you snorting and huffing in utter disgust, quickly and throughout. If you do not get all worked up over the information in this book go see your doctor because you might be dead. The entire title of this book is JADED TASKS — Brass Plates, Black Ops, and Big Oil: The Blood Politics of George Bush and Co., and that title tells it like it is, no sugar coatings, just a little something more to gnaw upon in contemplation of these bona fide revelations concerning criminal pedigree across many generations!

Madsen does his usual good job of discerning the real connections: the how comes, wheretofores, and planned escapes that become manifest when a paper trail truly festoons a story. I have always been told that one lie leads to another, and concerning our Governments black operations, which mean rogue activities with no oversight and for special interests of high sort — well, a good paper trail is that in spades, lie, after lie, after lie, and all together, one thing leading to another, a desk drawer, a cardboard box, the world. Madsen is unerring in his ability to ferret out the true crux of a story, then expound well on how it relates to other stories of import, patterns in general, and powers that are.

One of the most important things I learned while delving into this eerily knowledgeable accounting of world affairs is that a lot has been happening in Africa for the last two or three decades, and has not been covered by most corporate media on Earth. Unpleasant things, things which definitely get hidden, swept under the rug, because genocide, bioterror, rape, pillage, and strife are not what the moguls have come to call a winning scenario. The moguls are schmux, and peasants in suits, and thats all they ever will be, and thats common knowledge I am sure. For the record.

Conversely, but in the same vein, the names of the Africans involved in the horror of what has happened in Africa in the last 20 - 30 years…these names are many times very hard to spell, pronounce, and remember. They are truly foreign words to many people, especially English speakers. This is probably why a lot of attention goes elsewhere. I would like to suggest that in the future, the players within this macabre and pathetic football game across duhhhh-byas world, consider shortening their names for better public relations and more guaranteed coverage of their particular causes.

Amen.

I am talking about names like: Habnarimana, Faustin Twagiramungu, Pasteur Bizimungu, Emmanuel Kataliko, Pierre Celeste Rwigyema…come on people, if you are going to play with the likes of the bush family, you better get your team names and pop monickers better aligned with your fan base, and quit lolligagging behind a decrepit and phony nationalism. I mean it. Its all about getting with the program.

The program.

This book JADED TASKS did an admirable job of bringing me up to date quickly, with an orderly consolidation of happenstance concerning Africa, and much more. It was a very valuable experience. Over too quickly, knowing the second and third times through will bring their own surprises, whats not to love?

Madsen ends it nicely, concisely, to the point: the last flitting image from this book lays blame where blame lies, and some will not be happy over it, but truth is hardly ever well met. We must applaud and congratulate Mr. Madsen on his longevity, thank him for his conscientiousness, and wish him well during his battles.

Sinister Forces - A Grimoire of American Political Witchcraft -Book III - The Manson Secret

In my first review of Peter Levendas Sinister Forces series, I imagined Mr. Levendas appearance to be something like that of Bela Lugosi, with a goatee. This of course led me to a search, and the only picture I could find of Mr. Levenda on the internet was from a gathering of authors and publishers in Coconut Grove Florida, and he DOES look something like Bela Lugosi, though larger, and with glasses; and He DOES have a goatee! Or he did, at least, in the picture I am referring to. It was as if I had intuited something about this author, and though I found this revelation somewhat odd, I did not give it too much energy.

Not then, at least.

It was also during that first book that I found myself occasionally thinking in some cases that certain informations within seemed somehow…incomplete…only to find the information which explained these situations in the next book of the series, haunting me if you will, with not precognition, but answers to precognition…many times these answers contained EXACT wording and phrases as I had noted them in passing, or mentioned them in terms during my writing about the book! I stopped this critiquing during book III, and just satisfied myself that all was being made known. Truthfully, I was somewhat relieved that there are only three books in this series, if for no other reason than I do not know how much of this I could stand! It was more than coincidence. Much more. If you get the books, you will certainly see for yourself, and I do recommend them highly, however disconcerting some of the content may be.

Hard core readers are usually a little jaded, at least, and always looking for new experiences among the symbols. George Carlin once described our type as being Symbol Minded, and I guess thats as good a description as any. I assure you that the Sinister Forces books, by Peter Levenda, will assist you in your quest toward new, unique symbology, and most likely well beyond any expectations you may have.

Yes, many odd experiences and coincidences occurred during my reading of these 3 books by Peter Levenda. The only thing that came close was over ten years ago, after reading a book by Philip K. Dick, called Valis, and though I was astounded at that time by coincidences piled one upon another, that was nothing compared to the seemingly prescient ultra-sensitivity these books by Levenda created within my psyche. Many is the time during the reading of the series that I found myself in deep contemplation for many minutes, putting pictures together, from my past, and, perhaps, my future as well. I was becoming immersed in a flow that I had hitherto ill-perceived, and it is an instructional ride, oh yeahhhhhhh.

This is not too surprising really, considering that coincidence and its related institutions play a large part, perhaps even a Super-Conscious part, in this three book series which shows, among many other things, and in many startling and evocative ways, that there really is no such thing as coincidence, just a very intricate but meaningful weave and weft APPEARING to us as coincidence, but which is actual reality, and it is ALIVE. Boo.

Within this living thing are we, the id entitys, individual identities, and though infantile and dangerous for the most part, we influence the whole, as any part of any thing does. A vast majority of the time our influence in the All is en passant, without will or meaning. Even within this higgledy-piggledy massively ignorant state of existence which we physical beings inhabit, there are some who have taken it upon themselves to learn their place within the body of reality, and to thereby influence it, in what can only be called a conscious manner, however malign or evil some of these people may be.

Think — Instruments Of Torture — think Idolatry of instruments of torture. Sometimes the greatest evil is that which occurs all unbeknownst, disguised as goodness and love, within and by large groups of well meaning, but very ignorant people. That is my opinion at least, and it is based on long term observation, for what its worth. While delving into the books dealing with sinister forces I was rather astounded at certain of the revelations concerning the outwardly holy, who were, via scrutiny, revealed to be demons par excellence, whose god, if they have one, is nothing more than conflict, torture, hate and human suffering. We all know these people. Many are in government today. Many preach their ideology weekly, on TV, or in churches around the world.

In Book III of Sinister Forces a good case is made for positive influences, good people, to learn and develop control of our psychic lives in order to actually combat, or perhaps balance out the powers who would use reality to further their personal agendas, which seem comprised of what can only be called bad things. We must learn, and try hard, to overcome the employers of Sinister forces, or we are doomed to the world as it is right now, and is that not a sorry state, after all?

I think we should all learn to pray, instead of what the evil ones teach and do, and that is prey.

Also in my review of book one, I felt that Mr. Levenda must be, by nature, a very serious type of person, and though I found this to be fairly true throughout my further readings of this authors work, I was also pleasantly surprised to see that Peter Levenda possesses a wry and well developed wit, which is all the more powerful because of the subject matter at hand, and because of the artful way in which he purveys it. More than a few times I found myself laughing hard about something anomalous; anomalous in the sense it was dealing with death and destruction, but was described in such a way that humor was the inevitable result. There is no escape from these lovely surprises dear reader, and because these humorous incidents are timed perfectly and seemingly innocent, they can only be called comic relief of the highest sort. Several examples come quickly to mind, and I will not delve too deeply into this aspect of Mr. Levendas art, though his reference to Richard Nixon as one of histories great dirty jokes was one certainly memorable humor within.

Mr. Levendas coverage and interpretation of Quantum States as applied to human consciousness, and the body of reality, within which are we, the parts, was very valuable to me, and I am sure most readers will find this distillation by the author extremely agreeable, as opposed to the actual physics, which are daunting to say the least.

Mr. Levenda is intrigued by the work of two well known quantum physicists: Roger Penrose and Stuart Hameroff, whose work — Orchestrated Reduction of Quantum Coherence in Brain Microtubules: a Model For Consciousness, has been hailed as a new way to describe how thinking and perception really work, especially in relation to our view of reality. As one might expect, the US military has had great interest in all this, and employed these two scientists as consultants and representatives during a series of meetings sponsored by DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency). It is part and parcel of the militaries continuing though covert interest in remote viewing, psychic spying, and other spooooky types of behavior. Below are a few excerpts of the Penrose/Hameroff work from book III of the Sinister Forces Series:

…Another feature of quantum systems is quantum inseparability, or non-locality, which implies that all quantum objects which have ever interacted are in some sense still connected! When two quantum systems have interacted, their wave functions become phase entangled, so that when one systems wave function is collapsed, the other systems wave function, no matter how far away, instantly collapses as well. This non-local connection (Phase Entanglement), is independent of distance and implies that the quantum entities, by sharing a wave function, are indivisible… (Ansibel-ed.)

And another tidbit from Book III of the Sinister Forces Series:

…The problem is the transition….why and how do microscopic superposed states become classical and definite in the macro-world? This problem is called quantum state reduction, or collapse of the wave function, and it may be the key to both consciousness and reality…The wave function collapse is non-reversible in time, and it is the successive collapse of wave functions at the micro-tubule level that gives rise, in effect, to the passage of time (its seeming unidirectional nature: past-present-future) and thus to consciousness itself. This seems to solve the conundrum posed by Penrose in 1994 that the laws of physics are the same whether time flows forward or backward, and that the sensation of time going in one direction only is therefore a function of consciousness, since there are no physical laws to account for it…

The application of Quantum Mechanics to human reality is even more confusing considering it takes other sciences such as neurobiology, along with QM, to fully explain things we take for granted, like seeing, perceiving, memory, thought. It must be stated that there is no theory of physics that describes reality as well as the Quantum explanations, and though they are inexplicable to many, the multiverse is real, and you are a part of them! So lets get busy!

Overall, these three books in the Sinister Forces series deal with the United States Governments never-ending and no-holds-barred quest for mind control of its citizens, along with nazi involvement in that quest, and others, such as the catholic church, black magicians everywhere, and the intelligence apparat, as general as that term is. One begins to see, beyond doubt, after reading these books, that history can many times be considered a painting, where some brush strokes are bold and colorful, while others are muted and slight, though all a part of the whole, which in itself is a creation more than anything else. A contrivance.

The work of Mr. Peter Levenda is extremely well researched, and cannot be slighted in any way. There is no way that even the most informed reader on these subjects can come away empty handed from this literal smorgasbord of facts about the US governments continuing and frenzied involvement in the occult, the ramifications of this involvement to the citizens of the USA alongwith the world at large, as well as overall reality and our places in it. Do yourself a service, if you are inquisitive in the least: Get the three books of the Sinister Forces series by Peter Levenda, and see for yourself just where you are right now.

Why Ron Paul Should Be President

Ron Paul is the right man to lead the Republican party and will be a good choice as the next president of the United States of America. Ron has an abundance of experience and education after a long political career since the late 1960’s. Ron has a large following right across American because of his refusal to focus on minor issues and for always seeking the truth. He seems very smart on both the military and the economy and is the right man to lead America forward in to the future with the major issues continuing to arise.

The republicans need to win in to office again as there reputation under George Bush has been damaged. Ron Paul also doesn’t agree with any thing George Bush has done in his time at office. Saying the Iraq war served no purpose that strengthened the United States of America and he is first to rubbish the current state of the American economy which has led to the world financial markets being weak and unstable at the moment.

Ron Paul being elected in November would be great news for America. Lets hope the recent news that Ron may pull out as a candidate is fake and not true. Because he has a massive fan base which will likely see him elected as the republican candidate and he has a good chance at being president. The campaign he has led is of the highest quality and lets hope we can get this honest man in to the most powerful position in the world.

Visit What Ron Paul Will Do As President! This is a must see site for all political fans. Which Party Will Win The Election and Who Will Be elected President!

You Should Support Your President No Matter Who They Are

All Americans should support the leadership and even if they disagree with them on every subject or even a few issues now and again you still need to support the home team. You see my philosophy is and I hope you will also adopt this is that; I support my President, whoever it is.

You must understand that the mass media has poisoned the people towards the current administration. Now that the people have adopted this negative attitude as truth, many are looking for people that agree with them. Therefore media outlets realize they need to cater towards the anti-administration motif to keep ratings up.

I would not read much into the reality of the situation VS the created reality of the mass media. Although I can say when an administration is beat up too bad they become less affective in running the country, promoting an agenda or continuing in the forward progression of a nation. Politics is War. It does not necessarily have to be, but it is.

You should not underestimate the pendulum however, The media loves to build you up and then rip you to shreds, but once they beat you all the way down, it is no longer news, so their only choice to make news is to build you back up, people are always interested in the ironic nature of things, it activates the N400 brain wave and it sells newspapers and increases ratings. Just when you think something is something they try to turn it into the opposite.

I have been watching the media all my life. I am totally unaffected by it, but I watch the trends as well one should to see how future events will unfold. Indeed my advice is to keep an open mind and support the leadership, we are all on the same team.

Loved and Respected and World Politics Considered

Many folks are quick to point out that the United States is not well liked around the world. Interesting considering how much donations, monies and gifts we give isn’t it? With regards to being loved and respected and the current paradigm of mass world media propaganda perhaps you might like a second opinion?

The respect issue is an interesting factor with World Affairs, some say it is best to be loved and respected, yet if you have to give people stuff all the time and turn a blinds eye towards the corruption then is it worth being loved by such folks? How do you feel about the media hit that the Chirac and Annan put out on the US during the Iraq engagement?

Indeed it seems that was much about Mass Media hit than anything else. Sometimes I feel that a created reality no matter how convincing is still what it is, rather than what it appears to be. In politics there are many ways to move the dog, you can wag its tail, give it a bone, kick it in the arce or you can be nice to it. Just don’t piss it off, I am told.

Often signing onto false realities of those who purvey Apocalypse in order to shift an economic balance of power is not in the best interest of a nation, I have found. What have you found in your life experience? Do you really believe all the hokum on your TV Set or are you wondering what the real deal is? It is time that we got a reality check and considered the other perspective.

Illegal Immigrant Tarriff

Illegal immigration has become the hot potato subject of the year. Politicians dodge the issue. Reporters wax philosophical on the plight of these poor individuals. And a few conservatives propose purchasing the great wall of China and stringing it along or southern border. On this issue I think everyone is nuts.

First let me state the obvious that I think most Americans know in their gutts. Bush is right: these are hard working and generally honest people who deserve our respect and compassion. But he is wrong to propose any type of amnesty. We can’t lock them all up and we can’t ship them all back either. It’s a real pickle.

But I have a solution. I call it Immigrant Terriffs. When a product is imported from a country determined to have an unfair advantage over our local production the government often levies a tarriff to level the playing field. We need to do this with immigration. Illegal immigrants accept a lower wage for work Americans hesitate to do. This benefits consumers by decreasing the cost of goods but harms legal workers who find their wages cut because of this influx of willing labor. Since most consumers are also workers we find that the only benefit is to business owners, the retired, and individuals in fields in which illegal immigrants do not compete. The most effected fields are the construction trades and farming where illegal workers are accepted as a necessary evil. An Immigrant Tarriff would force the illegal immigrants wages up along with those in the entire trade, essentially raising the wages of legal employees and making them more appealing to employers.

First the government should guarantee that all immigrants who voluntarily register with INS will not be deported. They will receive some form of temporary residency card which permits them to live and work in the U.S. for a limited time. They will have to pay a fee, preferably by payroll deduction and report to the INS regularly. They must also submit to fingerprinting and DNA testing. And of course they would have to file tax returns and pay social security just like the rest of us. Anyone who does not comply should be deported.

The Immigrant Tarriff must be substantial enough to compensate for the financial burdens illegal immigrants force on the U.S. including such costs as hospitalization, school tuition, and imprisonment. There should be system protections against fraud such as immigrants claiming unemployment to exempt themselves from payment. If each of the over 20 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. were charged $50/month the government would earn an extra 12 billion annually! That ought to wet the whistles of even the most philanthropic bleeding heart liberal congressman.

Iran and No Holocaust

Iran and “No Holocaust”

The leader of Iran, a supposed holder of a doctorate in Engineering, obviously never
went to school at all; he must have been home schooled.

Let’s find out what occurred during those years and let’s see if we can put aside
the possibility of a holocaust and see if it floats.

A) Prison or concentration camps.
They do exist. They could have been training camps for soldiers. What did the
German generals say they were for? IF the builders do not deny them, then we
are sort of sold on that one.

B) Trains to move 6,000,000 passengers. While it is possible that many people
could have gone way one to somewhere in E and SE Germany or out of the nation,
they had to go somewhere and in-between train station masters keep records of
trains going and coming. This could be a hard one to prove who the occupants were.

C) Materials sent to the camps for building gas camps, ovens, and more. This required
manifests or the items could have been hidden in fake documents under code.

D) Smoke created by the ovens; this was not a few hours of smoke or days but
instead, months and years. Thus, while it is not proof of what was smoking it is
at least proof that something was burned.

E) Art and valuables taken by the German generals. While some of this was discovered
by the American victors, some of it was sent out of country and hidden. Let’s ignore
that which was sent out of country. American field officers and generals freely admit
that at several sites “Freed” by the Americans, art work and other valuables were discovered.
While this could have been art work stolen by thieves from anywhere, it would make
no sense to have the aggregate of art work kept in one place if it were stolen by many hundreds of thieves from many places. MOST art work is kept by the rich in their homes if they
contracted for the theft or bought innocently. That art work is not kept in hidden places.

F) Soldiers of the German army. While they did as they were told, and their leaders
were convicted or found innocent at Nuernberg, at least their histories are on record.

G) Intermittent suppliers of the camps. These supplies had to go some place. Thousands
of bars of toilet materials [while the Jews were still alive] and crumbs of food are still something. They were bought from some place and the places that bought them have invoices
and the manufacturers have invoices.

H) Mayors and other elected officials who were bribed were bribed by someone. Matching
what the bribes were with bank deposits and purchases is possible.

I) Utilities; Imagine the reduction in demand of 6,000,000 people on sewers,
drinking water, electric use and mail.

J) Who occupied all those empty units? Were they left vacant or occupied
as recreational homes by other Germans? It must have taken years to
get that many units re-occupied.

K) All those senders of mail. It is not hard to throw mail away but what do the senders do?
They keep track of who has not answered. If they did not make it to the US, they moved elsewhere. How many re-located their relatives or non-Jewish friends?

L) Bank accounts. Those were easy to get rid of. So, no proof there.

I just found this on the internet; thus the Iranian President is not the only fool:
“Today, you may be imprisoned or fined for dissenting from the accepted Holocaust history in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Israel, Lithuania, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Switzerland.”
[http://www.skeptic.com/eskeptic/06-03-02.html] There are skinheads and others who
want to be different. So, they choose dissension about the camps. I wonder why
they don’t choose to dissent with the right to have hair instead.

More proof-

http://www.worldwar-2.net/timelines/the-holocaust/the-holocaust-index-1945.htm

http://www.world-war-2-holocaust.org/holocaust_1.html

from CNN:

Manouchehr Mohammadi, Iran’s deputy foreign minister for research, told Iran’s state-run news agency, IRNA, that Tehran’s leaders would accept that the Holocaust occurred if scholars attending the conference could prove that the Nazi regime exterminated 6 million Jews during World War II.

1. But Mohammadi said Iran does not deny the murders and damages caused by Hitler’s genocide, nor that 50 million people were the victims of his racism, according to IRNA.

ENOUGH said.

Breaking Down Walls - Lessons from 11-9 for a Post 9-11 Era

The Berlin Wall, known in the Soviet Union and in the German Democratic Republic as the “Anti-Fascist Protective Rampart,” was a separation barrier between West Berlin and East Germany (the German Democratic Republic), which closed the border between East and West Berlin for 28 years. Construction on the wall began on August 13, 1961, and it was dismantled in the weeks following November 9, 1989. The Berlin Wall was the most prominent part of the inner German border and an iconic symbol of the Cold War.

Conceived by the East German administration of Walter Ulbricht and approved by Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev, it was built during the post-World War II period of divided Germany, in an effort to stop the drain of labour and economic output associated with the daily migration of huge numbers of professionals and skilled workers from East to West Berlin, and the attendant defections, which hurt the Communist bloc economically and politically.

The Wall was successful at decreasing emigration (escapes - “Republikflucht” in German) from 2.5 million between 1949 and 1962 to 5,000 between 1962 and 1989.[2] However, it was a propaganda disaster for East Germany and the Communist bloc. It became a key symbol of what Western powers regarded as Communist tyranny, particularly after the high-profile shootings of would-be defectors.

Political liberalization in the late 1980s, associated with the decline of the Soviet Union, led East Germany to relax border restrictions, culminating in mass demonstrations and the fall of the East German government.

On November 9, 1989, the government announced that crossing of the border would be permitted. Masses of East Germans approached and then crossed the wall, and were joined by crowds of West Germans in a celebratory atmosphere. Over the next few weeks parts of the wall were chipped away by a euphoric public and by souvenir hunters; it was later removed using industrial equipment.

How can we daily chip away at and break down walls in a post 9/11 era?

1. Refuse to be gripped and governed by fear.
Fear is self-centered revolving around self-preservation. Fear has torment and is paralyzing. Fear is interest paid in advance on something you most likely will never own. It has been said ninety percent of our fears never occur. Therefore the only thing to fear is fear itself. Be bold, courageous, and fearless!

2. Believe the best about people, until they prove otherwise.
People should be innocent until proven guilty. Seek to prove people worthy, rather than looking for guilt. There is good in all of us that needs to be affirmed and recognized. Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future. Before you entertain and listen to the bad about a person, ask to hear about the good.

3. Love and accept people unconditionally.
The Creator and universe loves and accepts us unconditionally as human beings. Do likewise. Create a culture of love and acceptance. As you do a community to which others want to belong will be created. Give people hope to belong, believe, and become.

4. Be hopeful and expect the best from people.
When you show a positive expectation toward people, you cause them to want to live up to your expectations. It is the force of faith in operation pulling people higher. Speak to and address people’s potential. Enlarge their vision and horizon paving the way for them to step into it.

5. Don’t be paralyzed by presumption and erroneous predispositions.
Beware of propaganda. Don’t believe everything the media and people tell you. Most often they are misinformed or only partially telling the entire story. Do your homework before wholly embracing something as gospel truth.

6. Investigate and seek the truth.
You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Not everything you hear is worth listening to. Truth must be tested and examined over time. Lies last but for a moment. The truth however is timeless and always does endure. Hold to the truth and don’t sell out to compromise.

7. Celebrate and honor all peoples.
As you live and let live, you shall liberate people. Celebrating and honoring people is the first way we bond with them. Before we can together build, we must first bond. Let the bonds of brotherhood grow, increase, and be strengthened.

8. Forgive and live.
We all make mistakes. Give people another chance. We as individuals and nations learn over time. For some it takes more time than for others to catch on. As we forgive, we free ourselves from carrying hostility and hate within our hearts. When we forgive we live and allow others to do the same.

9. Be patient, peaceful, and progressive.
Change doesn’t happen overnight. It is progressive and ongoing. Strive to be patient with people and nations as we all evolve. People make changes in an atmosphere of love. Russia’s Gorbachev brought down the wall because of President Reagan’s charm and heartfelt appeal. Reagan never threatened Gorbachev with war if he didn’t obey.

Love is patient and kind. Patience and a peaceful disposition often precedes progress. Nobody likes to be pushed. Patience tenderly and purposefully pulls people by their heart strings forward progressively.

10. Let dialogue and diplomacy replace hostility.
National dictators often just want to be recognized on the global scene and acknowledged. By welcoming everyone to the table to talk, we can diffuse much hostility and build bridges internationally. Nobody every died during a discussion. Dialogue and diplomacy enables us to go deeper to the real root issue motivating a person.

Let us all continue to break down walls between us so we can be a global community interconnected with heartfelt understanding and compassion.

Bringing Down Barriers - Transcend and Transform

Too often we in our limited experience, readiness to be offended, and miniscule misinterpretation of matters erect barriers between us.

It is time the barriers come down and disintegrate!

Here are 10 ways to transcend barriers that divide and elegantly master dispute resolution.

1. Never judge something prematurely.

Judging something prematurely and hastily is deadly. A wise person will navigate cautiously, walk circumspectly, and listen attentively.

2. Be quick to hear and slow to speak.

Affirm the person while not committing to their conclusion. Listen wholeheartedly, but keep an open mind. Be more apt to listen rather than to offer your views, which could cause the speaker to be silenced and withhold vital information. God gave us two ears and one mouth. The ears were made to always be open, but our mouths have the ability to be shut. When you keep your mouth shut and ears open, you learn more.

3. Ask a lot of questions.

Graciously ask questions. Play dumb if you have to. Avoid appearing as if you are interrogating a person. Simply seek the facts and ask questions a number of different ways to flush out additional facts.

4. Seek differing opinions.

Opposing opinions are enlightening regardless of your views and whether you agree, or disagree. Elicit differing opinions and insight. The more angles and ways you can look at an issue, the more profound and detailed you shall truly see it for what it is. The reverse is true if you arrogantly assume you know everything and presumptuously move ahead hastily.

5. Be inclusive, honoring everyone.

Honor every person in a disagreement. Though people may behave and speak dishonorably, every human being deserves a degree of dignity and personal respect. As you give such respect, you afford them the opportunity to maintain and keep it.

6. Let every disgruntled party be heard.

People want to be heard and if you deny them this opportunity, their anger and hostility will cause them to seek other ways of being heard. It is far better to kindly and patiently listen early on before the problem escalates and emotions get out of hand.

7. Reiterate what you are hearing each party say.

Though you may grasp what the parties are saying, verbally reiterate it out loud so everyone can be on the same page. Nobody knows what precisely you are thinking until you vocalize and express your thoughts. Be forthright and candid concerning what you are hearing and understanding. Don’t make any conclusions at first, just articulate that which you are hearing.

Oprah does a fine job of this on her talk show. If that visual helps you, just be Oprah for a few minutes and tell people what you are hearing them saying.

8. Ask for desirable outcomes among the parties.

Ask the parties what it is they want to come out with after the discussion. Allow the parties to state their desirable outcomes and expectations.

9. Inquire as to where compromises can occur.

Ask each party where they are willing to compromise and meet each other half-way in order to obtain their desirable outcome. Some may be polarized and unwilling to yield. That is perfectly fine. Others however to your surprise might make great concessions to peaceably reconcile and arrive at a win-win situation.

You never know until you ask. Furthermore it is far easier to simply ask such a question and let the parties resolve their own dispute. Trying to negotiate a settlement between parties can be exhausting. Let them wear each other down and make their own compromises and concessions.

10. Build on strength and the power of agreement.

Ask the parties what they agree upon and build upon that. The power of agreement is your place of power. Perhaps the end result is something you can agree upon. Though political parties rarely agree on policy, they all usually agree on being motivated by upholding the good of the country. Before diving into the dirty details of disagreement, continually come back and revisit the points of agreement. As you continually reunite the parties by revisiting that which they agree upon, hearts will warm and solutions shall surface to transform.

Bringing down barriers is not as hard as we think. It just requires active and wholehearted listening, asking the right questions, and honoring one another’s desirable outcomes.

Lobbying 101 - Elements of Lobbying

Lobbying entails different elements which must be addressed for the effort to be a success. To keep this simple I have divided the process into two main elements with sub-elements that further define the main ones.

“RETAIL” LOBBYING:
This is why, most often, a lobbyist is retained. “Retail” lobbying usually takes place within the Capitol and relies on the relationships a lobbyist has fostered with legislators and staff.

Meetings:
Face-to-face meetings with legislators, their staff, and House or Senate staff to insure that your message is heard.

Q & A:
Being able to answer questions concerning your issue that may not be covered by any literature you give them. This can include providing testimony in the various committees and sub-committees.

Diplomacy:
This is where most amateurs fail. By being overly passionate, they can sometimes insult the very people (legislators) they’re trying to win over. A lobbyist should have the reputation of a professional with strong relationships in both houses and, more importantly, both sides of the aisle.

“WHOLESALE” LOBBYING:
This type of lobbying is more general than “Retail”. It includes more wide ranging campaigns such as: mass mailings, rallies, press conferences, and coordinating constituent visits to legislators. This type of political persuasion is in the background, so to speak, and less one-on-one than retail lobbying. A good lobbyist should be able to these types of campaigns to ensure awareness of the issue at hand.

Mailing Campaigns:
A mailing campaign is often one of the least effective methods of lobbying. Legislators receive tons of mail per day and most often don’t recall any one piece of mail. This type of lobbying can be more effective if it has aspects of “Retail” lobbying in that a letter from a particular legislator’s constituent can be more persuasive than a letter from a faceless organization. This campaign will be comprised of both snail- and e-mail.

Rallies:
If your business or organization is large enough to support an effective rally, a lobbyist can plan, coordinate and execute a rally that gets attention and results.

Press Conferences & Releases:
The stalwart Press Conference is the king of applying political pressure and can be essential to a successful campaign. A steady stream of press releases to influential reporters can also be incredibly valuable. A lobbyist can draft press releases and organize a strong press conference for you.

Constituent Visits:
A legislator will listen to no one more than one of his or her own constituents. Constituents=VOTES! Although this particular element of lobbying can also fit under the umbrella of “Retail” lobbying, often a group from an organization will coordinate visits on a single day. They then split up and visit their respective legislators. A lobbyist will match up any individual with his or her legislator using our relationships to open the door.

In the next installment, I will discuss the process a bill goes through in order to become law, and the lobbyist’s role in the process.
