Will The Glass Slipper Fit You? From Cinderella To Success!

Whether you’re a man or a woman, we’re all familiar with the story of Cinderella. And we all understand that the glass slipper remains a powerful metaphor for success; for having made it. I’m betting that you have your own idea of the kind of triumph you want most and of the magnificent experience of trying on true success and having it fit you in a positively perfect way. At the same time, I’m guessing that the glass-slipper experience you’ve dreamed of may have never materialized, leaving you on the outskirts of real success, leaving you feeling like an outsider. Well, if that describes your experience, then you should know that you’re hardly alone. In fact, you’d be amazed by just how much company you really have.

It seems that throughout my life, I have never quite “fit”. I literally did NOT fit. I endured horrible teasing in my youth simply because I was taller than just about anyone in my school… even the boys! By the tender age of 13, I’d already passed 5′10″ which was only complicated by bad hair and a mouth full of braces. The boys wouldn’t even approach me much less ask me to dance and I’ll never forget accepting the kind offer to dance with my teacher, Mr. Baysinger, at the 6th grade graduation dance. Looking back, I realize how compassionate he was not to let me spend the entire evening as a terribly awkward wall flower!

I struggled for decades with the loneliness that accompanied the sense that there might be something wrong with me. Yes, I had friends but at the same time, I felt different although I’d never admit that to anyone back then. I know how much courage it takes to reveal that you feel misunderstood. Do you feel misunderstood too? If so, you’d be surprised by how many others share your sentiment but who fail to express it was any real honesty. Being honest isn’t about making your self vulnerable, but about taking off the mask that says “I’m okay”.

So, I want to invite you to have a relationship with yourself that’s truly truthful. It’s not about what you tell others. It’s about what you tell yourself and your soul. The point is not to make others like you or to secure their acknowledgment and approval. That’s neither desirable nor realistic. The point is that YOU will acknowledge you by honoring your self with the naked truth. And if you do that, imagine the time and energy you’ll have gained once you decide to stop trying to be likeable and stop saying “yes” to everyone. That will require you to like and say YES to yourself! And only when you’ve done that, will you learn how to accept and fully appreciate your unique gifts consistently and sincerely; and then you’ll experience what it feels like to genuinely fit. That means setting your own terms and meeting with your own approval… not your parents, spouse, boss or friends.

For myself, I finally decided that I simply would not fit anyone else’s mold and, until I designed my own glass slipper (an 11 wide to be precise), I would perpetuate my own forsaken Cinderella drama. When you find yourself able to genuinely appreciate the only YOU there will ever be, others will amaze you by doing the same! Then you can go still further to reveal yourself fully. Reverence means ’something that’s entitled to respect’. That’s the definition of self-esteem. You can move beyond esteem to express your talents, truths and character; now seeing that you have created the experience of powerful recognition from those in your life by way of revealing your unedited self. And along the way, you’ll come to discover that Believing is Seeing!

In the wise words of author Marianne Williamson:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Here’s my challenge for you:

Ask yourself “Who would I need to be to really appreciate and choose myself?” Start small, at the base camp, not the summit while remembering that the process is preferable to perfection. Choose one or two do-able steps to act as a trailhead for your journey. Then list what resources you might need to get to the next camp. Your list could include supportive friends and family, a time or other written commitment to yourself, etc. Think about what tools are at your disposal and how you can leverage them to achieve your goal.

By making the effort in earnest, you’ll learn to trust that what you need will come when you need it. That can be aided by keeping written affirmations and notes where you can see them daily. By putting your intention on paper, you then remind yourself to add action to your intention. With repetition and consistency, you will create transformation. Being flexible with yourself is also critical to your process. That being said, recognize that change encourages more change, more growth and new directions. Your life has more in store for you than you could possibly imagine!

Until next time, I leave you with abundant peace.

The Secret - The Law Of Attraction

The Secret

Modern teachers, philosophers, and motivational thinkers are flocking around the idea behind the film “The secret”. Amongst them Bob Proctor - Philosopher, businessman, author of the international bestseller You were born rich who has helped people succeed in areas of mind potential for over 40 years, is traveling the world, teaching people how to apply The Law of Attraction to create lives of prosperity and abundance for themselves.

What is that “new” idea behind “The Secret”?.

Is there something magical and never seen or heard before? Is there a “Secret” never revealed?
Many of us have read Jack Canfield books from his “Chicken soup for the soul” series.

Thanks to a movie the world is “discovering” the law of attraction, which is great, but not enough. In fact, the Law of Attraction explain The Secret to everything. If we are able to learn and apply the Law of Attraction, then we we are on our way to build the Life Style we dream about.

As per Bob Proctor, We all work with one infinite power. We all guide ourselves by exactly the same laws. The natural laws of the universe are so precise that we do not have any difficulty building spaceships, we can send people to the moon and we can time the landing with the precision of a fraction of a second.

Everything that is coming into our life we are attracting into our life. And it’s attracted by virtue of the images we’re holding in our mind. Whatever is going on in our mind we are attracting to us
For us to use the Law Of Attraction, we must take in consideration what kind of relations we have. Are we in love? What kind of relation is this? What kind of friends we have? How our family communications work? Are we happy with our income? And/Or our work? What kind of business are we in? Are we healthy? What kind of relations with and how we care and relate to our body?

The science of using the Law of attraction was reformulated by Wallace D Wattles in the 1910s and then Napoleon Hill in the 1950s. TODAY Bob Proctor and Jack Canfield have taken this Science into a Whole New Era.

Every time we decide what path we take, we are getting results which are formatting our life.
Vikenanda, who lived from 1863 to 1902 states “All the powers of the Universe are already ours. It is we who have put hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark”

Living is more than money. Living is about how we get the FREEDOM to become whatever we want to be.

The Law of Attractions deals with our understanding and acceptance that anything is within the field of our possibility if we desire it strongly enough, believe in it and take action towards getting or achieving what we want or dream about.

How are we reacting to the possibility of having a genie just ready to grant us whatever we ask for? What we would ask for? How many of us have the awareness required to manifest wealth? Why there are 5% who succeed and 95% who do not? In fact, there are millionaires with college degrees and millionaires with little formal education. As per Forbes, they count of 946 billionaires as of 2007, including 179 newcomers to “The Club”.

They are from Argentina, Australia, Bermuda, Austria, Brazil, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt France, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman Philippines, Poland Portugal, Russia, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arb Emirates, United Kingdom, United States and Venezuela.

That is, they are from all over the world, different skin colors, cultures and all walks of life.
What makes them different?

Life is about choices. It is our choice to attract or resist wealth from entering our lives. It is our choice to attract abundance, love, happiness, health, friendship. In fact, the choice is not about money. The choice is about FREEDOM. The choice is about claiming the abundance the Universe has already reserved for us.

The Secret, is the movie featuring great writers but most of all is the movie featuring million dollar men who are training people to manifest awesome changes in those of us who are ready to harness the Law Of Attraction to become healthy, wealthy and outstanding achievers. The Secret is about the choice of being a brand new YOU ready to grab all those realities most of us only dreamed about.

Those wealthy people around the world, have something in common. All of them have educated themselves to see opportunities and act on them at once. They have chosen to grab opportunities and squeeze them to get the most out of their potential and power.

There are millionaires who were born rich. However, there are quite a few homeless who learned and used the Law Of Atraction to become real success stories, both online and off. Wealthy people who understand and use the Law Of Attraction, understand that wealth and abundance are their birth right. There are millionaires around the world who understand that abundance is for everyone of us who harness the idea and reality that the Universe has plenty of resources for every one of us and that everyone of us is entitled to be rich.

Humanity must learn to harness the thought process to attract abundance, and help others understand they are entitled to every thing good by understanding and using the Science of Getting Rich.

Wallace Wattles brought to light the Law Of Getting Rich, when in 1910 published his book which inspired the movie “The Secret”. In the 1930s Napoleon Hill took the Law Of Attraction to a new level when he published his book Think and Grow Rich.

It is up to us to choose the path to new heights of achievement and discover The Secret to open the doors of our lives to the genies who are ready to bring us all the riches, health, abundance and well being we are entitled to.

Become a Master of Bliss Now

Law of attraction certainly does not discriminate as to whether you are living in joy or living in misery. However one sure bet with the law of attraction is that it will give to you more of what you are choosing to experience in the present moment. How exciting is that!

At any moment you are free to choose your state of being and the laws of nature will give to you more of what you are choosing. That’s like someone who goes to a restaurant and the rule of the restaurant is that they will match the plate you have taken with another of like size and content. If you are not wise enough to select the foods that are good for you then you are out of luck in being delivered what is of quality for you.

Choose a state of bliss now and be guaranteed more states of bliss. Perhaphs you are thinking that it is not easy to suddenly become blissful because the dog still needs to be fed and the lights still need to be turned off. Oh and by the way the car is not running well and the world is at war. Well your being miserable adds nothing to the elevation of the planet and there will always be a reason to dismiss joy for later. But, joy needs to be ceased NOW.

A true master chooses to find and cultivate Joy in the midst of the deepest darkest of experiences and you being the master that you are can begin now.

Here are 5 paths to becoming a master of bliss and setting the trail for law of attraction to deliver more.

1) Within every experience there is something good. The most beautiful things are born out of the most disparaging conditions.

2) Fall in love with falling down. When you are down life give you the opportunity to see everything from a different vantage point.

3) Celebrate your failures as well as your victories. Your victories were first born out of many previous failures. So this failure which you are pining over is presently giving birth to a victory but you must first honor it.

4) Forgive everyone. People do the best of what they know. If someone chooses to take a destructive path in your life it is because they are convinced that this way is the best. Forgive them for all the previous reasons also. They may very well be the catalyst to the victory that is soon to come.
5) Here is a secret! Tell no one this, but being miserable accomplishes nothing. The problem won’t go away in fact it gets worst. So find something to be joyful about now.

If that does not work here is a free tip, begin to laugh wildly on purpose. Take thirty minutes to just laugh out loud for no reason out all. At first it will seem silly but after a few minutes it will feel good and it will take on a life of its own. This act will shift your own energetic field and trigger a change in your being. The Law of attraction will respond to that powerful vibration and magic will happen.

What is Reality?

Reality is a dream in which you and everyone else is playing out a role. Everyone chooses the most sought after roles of either the victim or the role of one who lives a life of great lack. Lack of love is always at the forefront of the great performance with lack of money and a lack of joy following steadily on the heels.

These are the most painful roles to play but they remain the most popular. Perhaps its because no one seems to know that there is a choice. There are other more fulfilling roles to play and there is no limit to the multitude of stories that can be chosen in this reality of unlimited possibilities.

The Native American Indians called reality a dream. The aborigines also call this great performance of life a dream. They believe that we are always dreaming and that the dream never ends. Quantum physics on the other hand call reality a hologram; An illusion of ideas, thoughts, images projected unto a mirror. That mirror being what we experience and call life. In essence what you see and experience is of your own creation.

The greatest spiritual masters have given many tools all designed to make us aware of what reality really is.

• The first challenge is to become aware that you are dreaming.

• The second challenge is to choose a more fulfilling dream.

It all seems quite easy doesn’t it but how likely are you to remain aware during your long days of working for others and all the other distractions that pull your attention? It is a challenge to remain aware that reality is just a dream. Before you can be powerful enough to fully manifest the life of joy that you so desire, you must first become aware of the fact that you are the dreamer and the dreamer can choose to change his experience at anytime. How do you attain this simple yet complex feat?

• Remind yourself daily by creating your own sign post and placing them everywhere.
• Speak words of power and greatness about your own self.
• Be the quiet observer of all that is unfolding around you.
• Judge not! Everyone is master and has chosen his own path in life.
• Honor the concept that reality moves through you.
• You are the creator of your reality.

No matter what you call this life experience, every prophet and spiritual master has said that life is unto you as you belief. Reality then is what you say it is.

Above all have fun!

Are You ‘Using’ The Secret And The Law Of Attraction?

vibrates in waves and that energy is attracted to energy of similar frequency. Knowing this makes it an awful lot easier to tune in to the things you do want in your life and let go of the things you do not.

All this talk about ‘using’ the secret and the Law of Attraction is really about developing your awareness. Your awareness, or consciousness, can be fine-tuned like a radio antenna so that you are a better and more accurate receiver of the frequencies you desire. So rather than having a scrambled signal, or a random one, you become more specific and highly tuned in to the things you do want.

This is what people are really talking about when they refer to ‘using’ the secret; they are encouraging you to develop your awareness antenna and set it to the frequencies you most desire. This is how you become a conscious creator of your own life.

So how do you fine tune your antenna? There are a ton of ways to develop your awareness. Getting clear on what you truly desire is one of the key fundamentals that pretty much every teacher of the Law of Attraction talks about first. Otherwise your awareness dial keeps flicking from one ’station’ to the next - you never really get set to receive something specific.

Using journals, vision boards, and scripting are all ways of getting some focus to start with.

The next stage of tuning your antenna is to eliminate interference, static, or resistance in your frequency. Resistance or interference appears as ‘conflicting intentions’. For example, you may intensely desire something, but wonder why it is not showing up for you. If it is not showing up, there is only one reason: you are sending conflicting signals (vibrations) and there is no clear pattern of energy waves for the universe to respond to. These conflicting signals are otherwise known as ‘conflicting intentions’. This means that even though you desire something intensely, there is something on an emotional level (conscious or subconscious) that is resisting this. It might be fear of the unknown, or maybe achieving the goal might lead to further complications. For example, getting a new job might mean a greater and longer commute with less time with the kids, even though it would bring more money and more prestige. This is a conflicting intention. Therefore no new job appears onteh horizon, despite you intensely desiring it.

Part of the work around the Law of Attraction and becoming a conscious creator is about dissolving these conflicting intentions. Easier said than done. Sometimes it is easy and simply becoming aware of them is enough to dissolve them. However, often these are long-held beliefs and patterns of resistance and more deliberate dissolving techniques are required.

Working with an experienced coach can also dissolve blocks a lot more quickly than working your own. You can check out Zoe Routh’s coaching services at the main Inner Compass website.

The Five Areas Of Personal Development And Balance Part 6

The final element we need to discuss in this series is the element of void. Void really has no traits of it’s own except for one, freedom. Void is the ability to adapt and use what means are necessary to get the results we are shooting for. Void is about a freedom that very few people ever begin to realize in their lives, and I hope that this will help open your eyes to the potential that is out there for you to realize freedom in all areas of your life for yourself.

Void is about freedom. I heard a great teacher use this example once. If you only have one option for any given situation, you are a robot. Machines and robots do one thing, and one thing only. This is not freedom. If you only have two options for any given situation then you have a dilemma. This or that. If you have three or more options for any given situation you begin to approach freedom. Options, and having as many of them as possible, is what freedom is all about. Take food in our society for example. There is never an issue when it comes to food in America because we have so many options. Only when money is tight and we only have two things in our refrigerator and don’t want either of them do we feel limited. If you had your choice of absolutely anything right now, regardless of what it was, in any area of your life, would that not feel like true freedom? Learning to understand and apply the concepts of these different elements begins to give you options for dealing with anything in life as well as getting anything. That, is true freedom. Freedom is not given to us by laws or by another person, it is given to us by ourselves.

The ability to know which element is appropriate for any given situation to get the best results is crucial when it comes to applying these strategies. The better you get at shifting from one strategy to another the better the results you will begin to get in your life. This also applies to bringing these elements into ourselves and using those energies to get the results we want. The problem is that most people come from only one option. Take this for example. When most people get mad, they use one of four basic responses. They clam up and stand their ground. They will become completely apologetic and try to sooth the situation. They will attack what is being said relentlessly until you back down. Or they will withdraw and snap back with what they think is a logical response. Now these are all negative ways of dealing with anger or a stressful situation based on the four elements, but what if you were able to pick and choose the positive response from any one of the four elements. What if you could firmly hold your ground and with a clam, cool, collected tone look someone right in the eye and tell them that right now is not the time and it has to wait. Maybe you could listen very carefully to what is being presented looking for the weaknesses in the presentation and then attack those weaknesses. A fire response would be to instantly turn on the energy and let the person know that this very moment is not the moment they are going to win and if they want to continue then fine, but you recommend they let it be until another time. An appropriate wind response would be to show compassion for their side of the story. Listen closely and with complete understanding. When they have shifted toward a more positive emotional state, then you can carefully and very tactfully present your side of the story and discuss why they feel the way they do.

Learning to give yourself options opens up a world of opportunity. Just the four ways of responding above could open a whole new world for you when used in the right circumstances. There are times and people that each of the above responses are appropriate where another response would only make the matter worse. Learn to recognize these times and which one works best where, and you will begin to discover what real balance and freedom are. After all, a positive balance from a position of freedom and options is one of the most liberating places anyone can get to.

The Five Areas Of Personal Development And Balance Part 5

In the last three elements we discussed the element of earth and the importance of having a vision as well as knowing what you value and the confidence to chase that vision. In the water element we discussed the importance of proper timing and flow for situations and the accomplishment of goals and dreams as well as proper planning and knowledge for accomplishing those goals and dreams. In the article about the fire element, we discussed passion and using it as the driving force for everything you do as well as emotion and emotions. In this part we will be discussing the element of wind and how it contributes to your success and how to use it to get anything you want in life.

The wind element represents all encompassing action, sacrifice, and higher ideals. Let’s start with all encompasssing action. All encompassing action is action that is in direct alignment with what you want to accomplish. Remember the old saying “he ran around the house to find the front door was open the whole time.” This is a perfect statement for what wind is NOT! Wind is the ability to recognize exactly what needs to be done with the least amount of energy and effort to get maximum results. For example, in this article I want to convey the concept of wind on a very basic level so that you have something to begin working with to be able to get instant results with your life. Include the information from the other elements and you have a working model. I am not trying to write a book, just give you enough information so that you have some working knowledge to start evaluating where you are, where you want to go, and what needs to be done. I don’t need to write four hundred paragraphs to do that. Five at most will be more than enough to accomplish that goal, where as this paragraph alone will not. Evaluate your own life and goals and decide what the least amount of energy, time, and effort can be put into a goal to get the maximum results. With this article I have a couple results that I want. I want you to get valuable information. I want to position myself in your mind as a name you remember because of the quality and usefulness of the information. I want you to visit my website to learn as much as possible about what I am teaching. I also want you to share this article with other people. See how I am writing a small, couple paragraph article with the intention of getting maximum results for it? That is wind.

Wind also represents sacrifice. This is not necessarily sacrifice from the perspective of giving everything up, but from the perspective of being willing to sacrifice beliefs, opinions, ideas, and anything else that gets in your way so that you are able to get to where you want to go. Sacrifice is always made when we want something. We always have to give one thing up to get another. You give up part of your life in the form of time at a job in return for money. You sacrifice time. You sacrifice money in return for food, shelter, transportation, heat, communication, and many other things. There is always a give and take, and at the element of wind, you must take a serious look at what you are willing to sacrifice in order to get what you want. I am willing to sacrifice time to write this article for the results I will get over and over and over again from this article. Are you willing to sacrifice some time with your family for the next couple months as you chase a financial dream that will give you more free time in the long run. Are you willing to sacrifice sleep to chase a dream that will get you out of your current job and into something more rewarding. What are you willing to sacrifice to get what you want, and where is the boundry. Most people fail simply because they are not willing to sacrifice a little bit of comfort in exchange for time invested into something that will bring greater comfort down the road. What I mean by this is that most people come home after work and use the excuse of being to tired to work on writing a book, or a song, or building a website, or their own business. They would rather take the comfort of sitting around watching tv or whatever it is they do than to be tired for a bit to put some time and energy into something that will pay in huge returns in the future. Learn to sacrifice now for the future you want tomorrow.

The third area I want to discuss about the element of wind is that of higher ideals. Where the earth element is about what we value and being able and willing to stand up for those things and not back down, wind is about taking those values and ethics and morals to a higher level. To a level that allows them to influence every single decision you make. This is the realm of compassion, and every thought, word, and action we make takes into consideration how it effects everyone else around us. I would never write an article that dealt with anger and hate because of it’s effect on the psyche of human beings, not to mention the fact that it supports those things I do not agree with. I will however write hundreds upon hundreds of articles all day long about things that help people live happier more fulfilling lives. I won’t go protesting down the street against people who belong to organizations that are angry or hateful, but I will do my part to put as much good out into the world as I possibly can. These are my higher ideals. I don’t believe that fighting against something with the same tools is as effective as throwing love and positive emotion at it. How can a war on terror stop terrorism when we are using war, the same tactics of killing, to do so. These are the higher ideals I am talking about. Where in the earth realm one is willing to stand ones ground even if it means killing, the wind realm is about using the appropriate action to get the job done. Sometimes fighting back is the appropriate answer, but 99% of the time, there is another option on the positive side of the spectrum to deal with everything on the negative side.

The Five Areas Of Personal Development And Balance Part 4

Fire is the third element for you to develop an understanding about. This is the realm of emotion and emotions as well as direct committed action. Fire is that passion that burns deep down inside of you. After developing a solid foundation and a clear vision in the earth realm, you are able to move into the water element of timing, flow, and planning. Though each of these elements can be separated and spoken about individually, it is important to remember that they are a blended flow from one to another and no one is more prominent than the others. Fire is no different. Though it represents that passion and the emotional drivers, these drivers must have some essence and presence from step one when you create your vision. Your vision and plan must be driven by force and energy and emotion, not just logical thinking. Emotion and passion is the driving force for any dream and goal.

The fire element represents that direct, committed action. That all out, in your face, do or die kind of mentality. This is a burning, gut felt, driving passion that burns deep within your spirit. Just as a forest fire burns rapidly and consumes everything within it’s path in a very quick period of time, your driving passion and force must also be this strong. You must be willing to take action the very second that an opportunity presents itself, and take action with all that you have. Imagine for a moment that someone has put a gun to your head and told you to give them all your money or your dead. For a split second, they lower the gun and give you a chance to hit them and run. If you miss that split second, all hope is lost. You must take that moment as soon as it presents itself, and life is no different. Use proper planning to get to where you want to go, but also be sure to take action the very second life presents a chance to move toward what you want and to impliment your plan. This is the fire element.

The fire element also represents emotion and our emotions. Emotion is used here in the sense of that driving force. The experience of life in general. Emotion is the representation of our connection to those people and things around us. It is our ability to empathize with someone close to us when they are having a difficult time with something. It is our ability to connect to a situation and truly see what it is about aside from our biased opinions. Emotions represent our emotional response and feelings about things and people. Where emotion is about our connection, emotions are about what we are feeling on the inside about an experience or a situation. Our emotions are incredible forces when it comes to making decisions about things. We must be honest and clear about our emotions and how they effect our decisions and thoughts, but at the same time, we must be able and willing to get past our emotions to make the right decision based on what is appropriate for this situation. For example, I have studied martial arts for over ten years now. I hate violence and I pray I never have to use it. My emotional response is very very negative toward harming another living being, however, if I or my family is at risk, I may need to harm someone to keep them or myself safe. That is appropriate for the situation regardless of how I feel. This sort of decisiveness is important when it comes to success at anything in life.

The fire element is the driving force that pulls the other elements together and gives them life. Without emotion, life would be a very dull experience full of just stuff that happens. It is our tears and sad times that give the happy and joyful parts of our lives meaning. It is the love and burning inside that we feel for another person that gives life value. It is the experience of joy and peace that we feel when we are in nature that makes life rewarding. It is a passion to accomplish something that gives the earth realm of vision value and adds value to staying to course when you find a vision. It gives the plan for accomplishing what you want life and energy. Any plan that is nothing more than words on paper isn’t worth the paper it is written on and will easily fall to the side and never realize fruition. A plan with passion and energy in it though will have a driving force that will be difficult to slow down or stop. This passion and drive of the fire realm is important when getting into the wind realm of all encompassing action and sacrifice.

Mastering The Secret Science of The Law Of Attraction

By now I am sure you’ve either seen the movie ‘The Secret’ or someone has recommended it to you. It has fast become the phenomenon that is sweeping the world selling thousands of copies of the book and DVD per day. It has been featured on OPRAH, Larry King Live and Ellen, as well as in Times Magazine, Newsweek and on CNN. There seems to be a global interest in the concept of deliberately creating the life you desire, a resurgence in spiritual principles as so many people are craving less struggle and wanting more joy, more health, and more money in their lives. The movies producer, Rhonda Byrne, has said that the idea of ‘The Secret’ came from a book she was given by her daughter, entitled, “The Science of Getting Rich”, by Wallace Wattles written in 1910.

So what exactly is this secret science? It is the Law Of Attraction. And it is the most powerful of all the Universal Laws that govern our planet. To many of you ,this may be a new concept, to others, you might have read or known about it but were unsure how to apply it in your daily lives. Let me explain what the Law of Attraction is.

The Law of Attraction states that what you focus on you attract into your physical reality. Like attracts like. It states that our Universe is one infinite mass of dynamic, vibrating, energy that responds to our thoughts, and that matter is formed by the thoughts you think. Basically, thoughts become things. Whatever you ‘think about’ you ‘bring about’. Wattles says in “The Science of Getting Rich”, ‘A person’s way of doing things is the direct result of the way he thinks about things.’ Every thing that’s coming into your life you are attracting in your life and it is attracted by the images you hold in your mind. One of the reasons that this truth is resonating so deeply with so many of us is that we all know, on some level, that the Law of Attraction does work. We see the evidence of it in our own lives every day. Have you ever wondered why you seem to create the same jobs, the same relationships, the same money problems, and the same tiredness or lack of robust health over and over again. Now, you may say ‘I’m certainly not doing that consciously’, but whether consciously, unconsciously or by default, the same problems keep showing up in your life.

I don’t think I fully understood the Law of Attraction until someone explained quantum physics to me in very simple terms. This is how it works. Quantum physics, the study of the building blocks of nature, takes molecules and breaks them down to atoms and then breaks them down again to sub atomic particles. At this sub atomic point physicists have learned that everything is made up of energy, the same energy. This means the chair you’re sitting in is energy, the bed you sleep on is energy, the car you drive is energy. YOU are energy operating in a larger field of energy. What is the difference between the chair, the bed, your car, YOU? It is the rate this energy is vibrating in.

Upon further investigation, science determined that our Universe and our reality are directed by something called the ‘observer’. The Observer Effect was discovered when two scientists, given the same experiment to conduct, and conducting it under the exact same conditions, repeatedly kept coming up with entirely different outcomes. What they found out was pretty amazing. The outcome became whatever the scientist conducting the experiment expected, or thought it would be. In other words, it became predictable.

Ok, so what does this mean for us? Well, if everything in our world is energy and we are all made of the same stuff; particles of energy, and predictable outcome is determined by the ‘observer’, and we have the ability to influence the ‘observer’, then we really are the directors, the creators, of our reality. We are in charge of directing this power to do anything, be anything we choose. What we think will happen happens!

“there is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which,
in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fill the interspaces of the
universe. A thought in this substance produces the thing that is imaged by the
thought. A person can form things in his thought, and by impressing his
thought upon formless substance can cause the thing he thinks about to be
created.”

~Wallace Wattles

It’s important to know that The Law of Attraction is impartial. If we have a thought, no matter what it may be, and we think it repeatedly and over time, it will manifest in our lives. The Law of Attraction is always working. For instance, you have the thought ‘I can’t deal with all this stress in my life’ and the Universe, like the genie in the bottle, sees to it that that which you focus on with emotion is yours. So what do you get, more stress. Or you think ‘I will never get out of this debt’, and because thoughts become things, you never really seem able to become financially free. It is as if you are stuck, in a holding pattern that you cannot get out of. Until you change your thoughts. This can be done with a just shift in your awareness. The following are 5 ways you can set the Law of Attraction into motion in your life today:

1) DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT.

Be specific about the details. Write it out. Find pictures that resonate with you. Use words and phrases, post them around your house or office. Send away for brochures or more information. Define goals as precisely as possible.

2) DECIDE YOU DESERVE IT.

Focus on why you deserve it, then make it a knowing. Purpose behind your intention will attract it quickly into you life.

3) BELIEVE IT IS ON ITS WAY.

The more realistic your desire becomes the faster you pull it toward you. Step into it as if it has already manifested. Speak as if it is in the process of happening.

4) BE GRATEFUL.

Gratitude shifts your attitude and your awareness. It clears your mind of useless worry and excessive clutter. Direct focus of gratitude keeps you from being impatient or negative. Focus on all the good that is already in your life and more will be added to you.

5) ALLOW YOUR DESIRE IN.

You must be a vibrational match to what you desire. Stay up, open, positive, excited happy. Trust the process of life. Keep a hopeful perspective. Know that the good you desire is yours. Take action when something presents itself and soon you will have created it.

The Law Of Attraction is not new, nor is it a secret. Avatars throughout the ages have taught this knowledge. It is being made available again and is now more mainstream than ever. Programs, classes, articles, seminars are surfacing daily. The information is now just a mouse click away. Isn’t it time you started living the life you’ve always dreamed of having. It’s possible you know. You can do, have or be anything. We live in a world where the possibilities are infinite. I believe we are just tipping the iceberg of understanding our capabilities and in the years to come more and more people will be deliberately and consciously choosing to create and attract their best life.

Inner Mirrors and Closets Begin the Day

You’re probably like most of us and don’t give much thought to your mirror or your closet. Yet they are an integral part of getting up and facing the day.

Of course, if men weren’t expected to shave, many of them could do very well without a mirror, only running a comb briefly through their hair. That is far from the case with most women. For them the mirror is essential to their self-image. When they look at their reflection, they decide what “adjustments” to face and hair must be make if they are to project to the world either the image they have come to believe is expected of them, or the one they want the world to see because it represents who they really are.

Then consider our closets. Unless we’re willing to re-use clothes we threw on the floor the night before, we head for this cabinet or enclosed recess to find something that can cover the parts of our body we’ve been told should be covered. Men often grab a shirt and a pair of pants, throw on a jacket and consider their dressing finished. Women, on the other hand, almost assuredly spend more time pondering what to wear, since we’ve been trained since girlhood to believe that we’ll be judged on the basis of our face, hair, and clothes, to say nothing of the all-important image of weight.

So our mirrors and closets are necessary features in our physical house. But we also have a mirror and a closet in our metaphorical house. These, too, are critical in helping us face the world.

A Metaphorical Mirror

Let’s start by exploring the internal mirror into which we constantly look.

Reflecting on Who We Are

This mirror is designed to help us understand our emotions, strengths, personality traits, talents, goals, values, state of health and everything else that makes us “who we are.” Each morning, much as the wicked step-mother in the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty asked, “Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the most beautiful of all?,” we look into our metaphorical mirror and ask, “Who am I today?”

We also ask other questions like, “Who are the people in my life?” “Can I trust them?” “What is my relationship with them?” “Are they likely to hurt or to harm me?”

The answers we get will determine much of the way we respond to life that day. The mirror reveals how connected we feel with others, what rights we believe we should demand for ourselves, how capable and powerful we feel, how able we are to give and receive love, how easily we can forgive ourselves and others, and whether or not we feel superior to, less than, or equal in value to others.

Reflecting on How We Feel

In addition, when we look into our mirror, we get an idea of how we feel at that moment, what sensations are coursing through our hearts and souls and nervous system. Sometimes we take a good steady look and carefully decide what exact word or phrase would describe our mood. Other times we give a quick glance and, if we think of it at all, might identify our feeling with a simple word:

Amused . . . Angry . . . Apathetic . . . Ashamed . . . Boastful . . . Bored . . . Competitive . . . Confident . . . Confused . . . Connected . . . Conniving . . . Contemptuous . . . Contented . . . Cranky . . . Critical . . . Criticized . . .Curious . . . Delighted . . . Depressed . . . Domineering . . . Eager . . . Efficient . . . Egotistical . . . Embarrassed . . . Exhausted . . . Enthusiastic . . . Excited . . . Expectant . . . Fiendish . . . Forgetful . . . Frightened . . . Frustrated . . . Gossipy . . . Greedy . . . Helpful . . . Helpless . . . Homesick . . . Hopeful . . . Hurt . . . Hysterical . . . Inferior . . . Insecure . . . Insignificant . . . Inspired . . . Irresistible . . . Isolated . . . Jealous . . . Kind . . . Lazy . . . Lonely . . . Lovable . . . Loved . . . Martyred . . . Mellow . . . Mischievous . . . Nervous . . . Noble . . . Nostalgic . . . Overworked . . . Passive . . . Piteous . . . Pressured . . . Rejected . . . Resentful . . . Sad . . . Satisfied . . . Scheming . . . Seductive . . . Shamed . . . Shy . . . Sick . . . Skeptical . . . Sophisticated . . . Strong . . . Successful . . . Sulky . . . Superior . . . Suspicious . . . Tempted . . . Threatened . . . Timid . . . Tired . . . Vane . . . Vulnerable . . . Weak . . . Worried

Of course, if you narrowed all emotions to the most basic, you could say we feel “mad,” “sad,” “glad,” or “scared.” But once I got started, I just kept adding to the list, realizing I have barely scratched the surface. In both private dialogues with ourselves and conversations with others, we use a myriad of terms to describe all the variables of the sensations and moods that control, or at least influence, our attitude and action.

However, no matter the terminology we might use, whatever emotional sensations we experience at that moment, the fact is that we will approach the day feeling up or down, self-assured or self-doubting, able to make the best of things or likely to stumble and fall, ready to take on the world or waiting for the chance to crawl back into bed and try again tomorrow.

In other words, we look into our internal mirrors to get as clear a sense of who we are as possible and to understand how we feel. The more we know about ourselves, the more likely we will be comfortable in facing the tasks ahead of us and the more accurately we can choose the qualities we will need to achieve our goals.

A Metaphorical Closet

Once we have used our “mirror” to reassure ourselves that we’re still here, still basically the person we were yesterday, only one day older, and once we know how we feel, we head to our internal closet.

Quality Garments of Protection

There we find an infinite array of garments designed to protect us, to armor us, throughout the day. Lovely, though invisible, cloaks woven from every kind of quality offer the wearer all he or she could ever want or use.

Acceptance . . . Assertiveness . . . Balance . . . Beauty . . . Carefulness . . . Clarity . . . Compassion . . . Confidence . . . Courage . . . Creativity . . . Curiosity . . . Energy . . . Enthusiasm . . . Faith . . . Flexibility . . . Forgiveness . . . Fortitude . . . Freedom . . . Generosity . . . Gentleness . . . Grace . . . Gratitude . . . Harmony . . . Hope . . . Humility . . . Integrity . . . Joy . . . Kindness . . . Learning . . . Love . . . Morality . . . Nurturance . . . Objectivity . . . Openness . . . Optimism . . . Passion . . . Patience . . . Peacefulness . . . Persistence . . . Playfulness . . . Purpose . . . Resilience . . . Serenity . . . Simplicity . . . Spirituality . . . Stability . . . Steadfastness . . . Strength . . . Tenderness . . . Tolerance . . . Vitality

Marvelous Masks

In addition to cloaks of wonderful qualities, our closet also contains an endless supply of masks, allowing us to face the world as we expect the world wants us to be seen.

If we like the way we’re feeling, we’re perfectly willing to allow our emotions to show. However, if we think others won’t approve of a feeling we label “negative,” we can select from our pile of masks any that fit the occasion. We have come to count on these camouflage possessions, these facades and pretenses — and they can do a darn good job of getting us through the day.

It’s not a terrible thing to have a smiling mask if we’re not in the best of moods. Who wants an old sourpuss scowling at us across the office just because he’s still mad at his wife for some trivial thing he’ll forget before noon?

No, masks, used properly, aren’t bad in and of themselves. Used judiciously, they come in very handy.

Putting These Metaphors Into Action With Symbols of Support

If you would like to use this metaphor in your life, you can print a copy of this article and use it when you take time for morning meditation or quiet reflection on what you have planned for the day. Read the list of emotions and decide which one fits you at that time. Then read the list of qualities, choose a quality you’d like to use, and imagine you can put on an invisible cloak filled with that quality. Then select a special symbol that can reinforce your intention to express that quality throughout the day.

Where can you find such symbols? You already have many of them in the real dressers and closets and drawers of your house. They can be pieces of jewelry, pictures, scarves, or any object you have or might decide to purchase. Once you have chosen the symbol, you can pin it onto your clothes, wear it on a necklace, put it into your pocket, or sit it on your desk. Each time you look at this symbol or touch it, you will be reminded to keep firmly headed in the direction you want to travel that day.

For example, do you want the courage to confront a person who has been harassing you? You might choose a golden pin with the head of a lion to wear on your lapel. Want to remain calm during a meeting you expect will be contentious? You can hang around your neck a single strand of silver chain with a locket that holds the picture of a friend who has always been the calm in the middle of any storm. Want to keep a steady pace of moving through scads of miscellaneous errands? How about selecting a prism and setting it on the dashboard of your car? Then as you look at it, you can be reminded to break down each task into its separate pieces, just as light is broken into different colors before they can be seen.

What a wonderful closet!! What a marvelous invention of the mind. With little thought or effort, here we can clothe ourselves in the most splendid fashion with all the qualities of the human spirit. At the same time, we can hide all the feelings that might get in the way of having anyone see that we are not the wonderfully self-possessed, competent person we, our family, our friends, our boss, and all the rest of the world may want us to be. And, finally, we can take with us a symbol to represent the kind of person we want to be.

Unfortunately, there are a few glitches, and more than a few problems, that can occur if you use these metaphorical tools unconsciously. Fortunately, there are ways to recognize when that is happening and move forward in a direction that will help you become the best you can be each day.
