Selecting the Right Alicante Hotel

The Alicante hotel experience is much like any other large city in Europe or throughout the United States. There are several types of accommodations from which you can choose depending on your preferences and needs. Among the types of Alicante hotels you will find there are:

-High Rise Hotels
-Bed and Breakfasts
-Conference Centres
-Resorts

In addition, you will find many different classes of hotels in Alicante. These range from not rated at all to the luxurious 5 star hotels and everything in between.

Within the hotels themselves, many have the amenities all travellers love at their home away from home. These include, but are not limited to:

-Swimming Pools
-Beach Access
-Shopping
-Fitness Centres
-Golf Courses
-Suites
-Restaurants
-Room Service

So What Alicante Hotel is Right for You?

Only you can really answer that question. The right hotel for you depends on your own personal preferences and the amount of money you are willing to spend for a bed and shower. You mush ask yourself, do I want to be near the beach? How close to I need to be to public transportation? Will I be travelling with small children?

All of these questions will help you determine what kind of hotel you need. Some hotels are very family friendly, while others, such as the bed and breakfast type hotel, are more appropriate for adults and couples.

Next, whether your travels are for business, pleasure or both will determine the right location and type of hotel. You can always book hotel rooms at two different properties if one doesn’t meet all of your requirements. For example, if you have a business trip to Alicante, you may want to book a property near the Alicante Airport or city centre. You can then transfer to a seaside resort for the vacation portion of your trip. Then is when you will most likely have the time for sun and golf, and you can probably save money on the car hire or room cost by breaking down your travel plans in this manner.

Outside of Alicante Central

Outside the main city limits are smaller towns and villages in the Alicante region. This is where you will be able to experience every-day Spain and the beauty of the mountains or beaches. The slower-pace and “real” people will delight you as you experience the food and festivities of the area.

Alicante is the centre of the Costa Blanca region and just one place to visit. There is also Torrevieja, Benidorm, Murcia, Javea, Denia and Calpe. Each of these resorts have hotels, villas and restaurants that are popular with tourists year round. The climate is ideal for a vacation summer or winter with wonderful weather and much to do. The last week of June is the busiest for the whole region as they celebrate the Fiesta of St. Joan. This is a time to come if a good night life is what you are looking for on your vacation.

There are many other attractions that will be near any Alicante hotel you choose. These include:

-Elche Palm Forest
-Isla Tabarca Fishing Village
-Castell de Santa Barbara Castle built by the Cathraginians
-Museu de Arte del Siglo XX Asegurada, Alicante’s oldest building housing a collection of modern art

As you can see, any choice of hotel in Alicante will keep you near the action, whatever action it is you seek. This is a manageable and easily accessible region that is equally as populated by tourists and year-round residents any time of the year, during any season.

Jerry Blackburn very often makes papers on themes similar to Torrevieja and Benidorm. His abstracts on Alicante hotel are found on http://www.alicante-spain.com and also other web sites.

Reasons to Stay in Fez Hotels

The fascinating and promising cities of Morocco are among the reasons why I keep going back to that exotic Middle Eastern country. Along with famed cities like Marrakech, Casablanca, and Rabat, Fez is a divine place to get a better feel of the exciting and extraordinary lifestyle in Morocco. Exploring the city is truly a worthwhile experience for all adventurous travelers like me. Although the divisions of the town can be quite confusing, travelers should never miss the chance of traversing Fez’s world famous and UNESCO-acclaimed walled cities.

Meanwhile, there is really more to Fez than the excellent attractions and tourism distinctions. In fact, days and weeks of staying in this fine Moroccan city is not gratifying enough if you will not check out the numerous Fez hotel accommodations. Other cities in Morocco are also known to have excellent accommodation establishments, but truly, Fez’s hotels are among the finest in the country. Even if you are just planning to visit the city for only one day, you are still bound to be tempted to stay in one of the prime hotels in Fez. Curious why? Read on!

1. Wide variations of hotels in Fez
Just like other popular Middle Eastern cities, hotels in Fez, Morocco have different accommodation variations for travelers to choose from. Starting off with budget hotels, one of the city’s highly recommended accommodations is the Batha Hotel Fez. Aside from Batha’s reasonable room rates, the hotel also offers relaxing and comfortable accommodation services to budget-conscious travelers who wish to stay in a hotel near the city’s medina district.

As for mid-range Fez hotels, you can check out the fine accommodation services and facilities offered by the Menzeh Zalagh Hotel Fez. This establishment provides excellent and near-luxurious accommodation perks that can really make your stay in the city worthwhile. Booking at this hotel is also convenient as it is near the medina, thus making it easier for you to thoroughly explore the city. Going over to the luxury hotels, Fez’s Jnan Palace Hotel is among the top choices. While this establishment is a bit pricey compared to the mid-range hotels in the city, its state-of-the-art facilities and services are sure to give you a comfortable and relaxing stay like no other.

2. Modern antiquity of the traditional hotels in Fez
Aside from the luxurious hotel establishments in Fez, the traditional hotels found within the city’s medina district are also among the top accommodation choices that are worth checking out. These traditional hotels are also known in Morocco as Riads (old palaces that are turned into hotels, inns, and restaurants). Compared to the first-class hotels in Fez, the Riads are more expensive and services are more refined. With the peaceful and elegant surroundings, plus the traditional decorations and interiors, you will definitely get a better feel of the city if you choose to stay in a Riad in Fez.

3. Extraordinary comfort and relaxation offered by Fez hotels
Nothing beats the convenience of having a comfortable room to go back to after a tiring day of scouting the popular attractions in Fez. Almost all hotels in the city are regarded for their excellent services and facilities that are meant to pamper the accommodation needs of foreigners and locals alike. However, be reminded that booking for a hotel accommodation in Morocco, or in any country for that matter, is not just for the sole purpose of having a place to sleep and stay at. In finding a fitting hotel in Fez, always remember to choose for the one that suits well with your travel plans, budget, and preferences.

Turin Hotels

Anyone visiting Turin for the first time will be struck by the historical city centre, which consists of arcaded streets leading to wide piazzas along cobbled streets. The city has many treasures for the tourist and it therefore seems a shame for anyone to stay anywhere close to the less attractive outskirts when there are is a reasonable choice in or around Piazza Castello.

While it is true that there has been a shortage of luxury hotels in the past, the situation has improved over the last few years, especially with regards to upgrading accommodation in time for the 2006 Winter Olympics.

In fact is was not until recently Turin had a single 5-star hotel, but while not exactly spoilt for choice, visitors now have the choice of three luxury hotels to make their selection.

If you’re holidaying in Turin then it makes sense for you to be as close to the sights in the centre of town as possible. The Golden Palace (Via dell’Arcivescovado, 18) is just a few minutes walk away from Piazza Castello, Via Roma and Via Po and therefore ideally placed for anyone looking for some luxury in their stay while hotels such as the 3-star Amadeus are an excellent choice for the more budget conscious traveller.

Porta Nuova railway station is a 20 minute walk from the city centre and one of the main hotel areas. You should be aware though that this area can be a little uncomfortable, especially at night when a taxi is advisable.

While tourists may prefer the city centre, many business travellers will be in Turin for trade fairs and conferences and may therefore choose to stay near the exhibition halls of the Lingotto Centre. Located south of Parco de Valentino, the Lingotto Centre will require public transport to get there from the city centre as it is a few kilometres away.

You can see the Lingotto Centre, a former Fiat factory in the original version of The Italian Job, when the three Mini Coopers are being pursued by the Italian Police arounf its rooftop test track. The building was completely refurbished in the 1990s to bring it up to the standards required for a modern conference centre.

Next to the Lingotto is Turin’s first 5-star hotel, Le Meridien Art+Tech, while the 4-star Le Meridien Lingotto is housed in the Lingotto Centre itself. The other 5-star hotel in the area is the AC Torino, which is also in a converted factory.

David Leigh has on two occasions and plans on going back as soon as he can. Find out more about Turin Hotels at http://www.bella-torino.com

Cheap Hotels - Not a Dream Anymore

We all love going on holidays. In fact, the vacations are what we all look forward to all round the year. However, planning of our financial budget, booking of tickets, hotel rooms etc is certainly required before going for any holiday. One of the most important part of our holidaying is booking of hotel room. Most amongst us are bargain hunters who are forever in the quest of cheap hotels. And the reason is simple. Lodging affects the whole holiday budget to a great extent. Thus the importance of cheap hotels comes into the picture.

Talking to your travel agent is not always beneficial while you are out to find cheap hotels. The travel agents generally don’t have enough options to offer as far as the cheap hotels are concerned. However, the Internet is the better option. By visiting various search engines, you are easily able to find a plethora of websites that are ready to offer you with the best hotels that suit your style and budget across the major destinations of the world.

These travel packages are indeed helpful in locating the destination that fit into your pocket and that gives you the best and cheap hotels. And it is even simpler to book a room in one of these hotels. With a mere click of your cursor, you can explore the best hotels and book them totally online as well. Sometimes, if you are lucky enough, you can also find discounts on several bookings. In fact some packages are constantly running with some discount scheme or the other in order to attract a pool of prospective customers towards them. You never know when you might stumble upon a lucrative travel deal.

Another point that you can always remember is to book your lodgings and tickets in advance as that too becomes inexpensive than eleventh hour booking. To find out some off season discounts on various destinations isn’t a bad idea either!

Finding cheap hotels isn’t a jackpot in the contemporary competitive scenario that is proving to me of immense benefit to the customers. So book your reservations today!

Sleep With The Fishes - Jules Underwater Hotel

If an ordinary hotel on dry land seems a little dull then Jules Undersea Lodge in Key Largo, Florida U.S.A is the place for you.

Jules is the original undersea hotel. But don’t be fooled into thinking this is just a gimmick. If you want to get into this hotel then you’re going to have to scuba dive 21 feet beneath the surface of the sea.

If you can manage that, you will enter through an opening in the bottom of the hotel. However, the difficulty in getting in is more than worth it.

The cottage-sized hotel consists of a kitchen with microwave and refrigerator, a dining room, with entertainment facilities, a “moon pool” (a small swimming pool), shower, bathroom facilities and two bedrooms with windows from which you can watch fish swim by.

And for a wedding with a difference, the lodge offers couple the chance to tie the knot underwater, without the bride getting her dress wet!

A notary public, who dives down for the nuptial service, conducts the ceremony. A toast and the cutting of the cake follow the ceremony. Dinner consists of a caviar appetizer, a choice of lobster or steak, a hearts of palm salad and dessert. The hotel “mer-chef” scuba dives to the hotel to prepare the meal and serve the newlyweds. The chef also prepares breakfast the following morning.

So if you’re not afraid of a bit of hard work and you find just getting the elevator to your hotel room too easy, why not try a hotel with a difference, 21 feet beneath the surface of the sea.

Why Are Boutique Hotels Becoming The Preferred Choice For All Travelers?

Tourism is one of the biggest industries in the entire world with millions of tourists traveling to various parts of the globe every month whether for personal reasons or business reasons, with the numbers rising almost every day.

Of course the biggest beneficiaries of the tourism industry are the hotels which accommodate these millions of tourists and hence more and more hotels come up every day - from luxury, super luxury to budget hotels and guest houses. But the latest buzz word seems to be that of a Boutique Hotel. A lot of the tourists now prefer to stay in something called as a Boutique Hotel.

So what is a Boutique hotel and why is it becoming so popular with the tourists no matter which part of the globe you are visiting?

The concept of a Boutique hotel originated from North America to suggest an intimate and luxurious hotel environment. The feature that differentiates Boutique hotels from other mainstream hotels is the personalized service - personalized accommodation and facilities provided to each guest. All Boutique hotels are generally created over a theme which runs through all the rooms and service centers of the hotel. Also generally boutique hotels are considered much more stylish than their competitors as most of them usually hire the services of a specialist interior designer to develop and execute a unique theme for the hotel.

All rooms, restaurants, lounges etc in the hotel are carefully planned and constructed according to the vision of the designer.

A typical room in a boutique hotel apart from having a good balance between style and luxury will have at least a queen size bed, telephone connection, wi-fi internet connectivity which is generally free to use for the guests of the hotel, cable television, a mini bar and round the clock room service. Most boutique hotels will also have an excellent restaurant serving variety of cuisines and also having a lounge or a bar in its premises where the guests can take a break and relax and also mingle with other guests. Generally the lounge or bar is open to the general public as well.

A boutique hotel is generally smaller than a mainstream luxury hotel with the bigger boutique hotels having a maximum of approximately one hundred rooms while the smaller ones could have as less as just five rooms.

Generally most of the visitors to a boutique hotel are business travelers which ensure repeat business for the hotel. But the recent trends have shown a large number of general tourists preferring to stay at these boutique hotels because of the great combination of luxury, privacy as well as personalized service which these hotels offer to their guests which sets them apart from other hotels whether luxury or a budget hotel.

The staff at these hotels is very friendly and courteous and has been trained to cater to all requests by their guests. Although the number of people working could be less compared to a large luxury group of hotels but even then most guests report a higher sense of personal service which is one of the main reason why a boutique hotel has started to become so popular with all kinds of guests whether they are there for a vacation or for business purposes.

A Guide to Blackpool Hotels

Blackpool is the most famous holiday location in the UK. For decades families have packed their suitcases and headed off to stay in a hotel, visit the Pleasure Beach, play by the sand and experience a view along the coastline from up high in the Blackpool Tower. A major focal point of the city is the active tram network that is used today as much as it has been in years past.

Blackpool hotels can be found all the way along the coast, from peer to peer. Such is the popularity of Blackpool as a tourist attraction, it is fair to say there are more guest houses and apartments for tourists than there are for residents near the coast where all the attractions can be found. Many of the Blackpool guest houses look out over the illuminations which are another famous feature of the resort. This is an integrated light display including over 40,000 light bulbs which helps the tourists and locals understand they are in a truly magical place. This starts in August most years.

Choosing where to stay in Blackpool is no easy task, especially with so much on offer. Another issue can be that if you choose to stay in Blackpool during a busier time of year, you may have problems finding a place that is available unless you choose to plan it well in advance. That is also a great option if you wish to take advantage of many offers and discounts that become available if you are prepared.

When you are deciding where to stay in Blackpool an important thing to consider is what you intend to get out of your stay. Should you be looking to experience the true essence of Blackpool then you will most likely be looking to stay along the coastline where you will be within easy walking distance of the major attractions. A downside of that is that you may end up finding it slightly too busy and long for some calm instead.

If you are looking to stay in the Blackpool apartments, or hotels in Blackpool that are slightly out of the city then you will also have to consider the long walking distance that you may have to embark on to get you where you want to be. Despite this, you may enjoy the tram ride that is available with good regularity.

The Blackpool guest houses that are among the most popular also have entertainment and cabaret on in the evening, whilst others even have swimming pools and fitness centres inside. Whether you would like to stay in a hotel like this may depend on many factors, not least your budget and your preferences. The prices can fluctuate quite considerably, especially depending on the time of year, the location of the hotel and the facilities that are available inside it. In order to get to grips with the likely costs of a Blackpool holiday it is recommended that you go online and search for prices there, however don’t forget to have enough money left over to have a great time when you are away

Hotel Las Vegas, Paris

Paris, the city of love is beautified with a lot of natural and artificial beauties. Paris Las Vegas Hotel, a dream place to be at, is no exception at all. It is basically a casino and hotel situated on the famous Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, which is both operated and owned by Harrah’s Entertainment. It consists of a half scale, 164.6m (540 feet) high replica of the gorgeous Eiffel Tower and neon sign in the size and shape of the Montgofier balloon, a La Fontaine des Mers replica and a two-third sized Arc de Triomphe. The building façade suggests the Louvre and the Paris Opera House.

Bally’s Entertainment originally announced the project. For Paris Las Vegas Hotel, ground was broken on April 17, 1997. Catherine Deneuve, French Actress turned on all the lights of Paris by flipping a switch. The building’s initial period was under Hilton Hotels. Bally Entertainment was purchased by Hiltons Hotel in 1996. Its casinos were consequently spun off. In 2000, Park Place Entertainment bought Caesars World and in 2004, modified its name to Caesars Entertainment. Then Hilton Hotels started the building, which was originally supposed to be called Paris Hilton, named after the daughter of Mr. Hilton and after that, it was changed to Paris Hotel and Casino. When it inaugurated, The hotel used to run hilarious television commercials all through the United States, which implies that, it had made sure the legitimacy of its reproductions of culture, cuisine and landmarks of Paris. When the replica of the Eiffel Tower was built, it was supposed to be a full scale model. But, as the airport was a bit too near, the model was not built as it was planned. US $785 million was needed to build Paris Las Vegas Hotel which occupies about 97,000 square meters.

The Paris Las Vegas Hotel, having a theme of Paris, has 2,916 rooms in total. It has a gaming space of 85000sq. ft. It has a permanent show named “The Producers”. Its main attractions are Experiencing Eiffel Tower and Risque de Paris. It has some magnificent Ortanique, Mon Ami Gabi, Eiffel Tower Restaurant and Les Artistes Steakhouse etc. The rooms of the Paris Casino and Hotel outperform most of the Las Vegas hotels by offering tremendously luxurious and relaxed chambers for the guests. It provides Desk, Air conditioning, In-room safe, Electronic door locks and many lavish facilities. The shopping has reached to a whole new level by the Las Vegas Hotel.

Paris Casino Las Vegas Hotel, comfortable and stylish place to lay bets, fulfilled with fountains, gigantic doorways with lights and a lush interior which is designed to make a person as relaxed as he/ she wants to. This is surely the ultimate place to pass some time if anyone wants to pass a late afternoon within the town.

Five-Star Hotels in Barcelona, Spain - A Discriminating Traveler’s Home Away From Home

Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is one of the largest cities in Spain. It is second only to Madrid and is one of the most influential European cities. It enjoys a globally acknowledged trendsetting image. Additionally, it has a very diverse art and cultural scene.

So, when you’re in a city as steeped in tradition and culture as Barcelona, why settle for anything less than the best? Start your vacation with a classy and extravagant bang by staying at the five-star hotels in Barcelona. Very few hotels in the world can rival the opulence and exquisite service offered in these hotels. The city itself is renowned for fine living and gastronomic treats. It is, thus, no wonder that a stay in any of the five-star hotels in Barcelona will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for weary travelers.

Hotel Arts Barcelona
Hotel Arts Barcelona is one such hotel. Arguably the most popular among five-star hotels in Barcelona, Hotel Arts offers breathtaking views of the marina and port area. The view can be seen regardless of your accommodations. You could book a suite, double room, or a luxurious duplex apartment and be equally treated to a magnificent feast for the eyes.

Hotel Arts of Barcelona is owned by the Ritz Carlton Group. It is situated in the marina area of Port Olimpico. If you are looking for style, charm, and an idyllic beach location, then the Hotel Arts is the perfect place for you. The staff are polite and friendly, and they will pamper you like royalty.

Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel
My personal favorite among the five-star hotels in Barcelona is the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel. As its name suggests, this hotel is in Barcelona’s marina area. It sits very close to the area where cruise ships dock. Like the Hotel Arts, the Grand Marina Hotel Barcelona offers astounding view of the marina area. It also gives guests first class accommodation and ready access to the heart of the city.

Le Meridien
If ready access to the city is what matters the most to you, then you cannot get a better option than Le Meridien. The hotel is on the famous Ramblas, the center of Barcelona’s hustle and bustle. Like other five-star hotels, it boasts of an amazing view of the Ramblas. Unfortunately, the hotel’s greatest draw also proves to be its greatest problem. Because most of the rooms in La Meridien overlook the Ramblas, guests can expect a little street noise. If you think you would not mind this, then book yourself into the Le Meridien. A basic double room can cost you between 330 and 360 Euros.

Claris Hotel Barcelona
The Claris Hotel Barcelona has an interesting geometric shape. Like La Meridien, the Claris Hotel is not far from where the action is. It sits at the intersection of two busy roads, and while this makes the hotel accessible to almost any vehicle, guests can expect to be subjected to a little road noise.

The Palace Hotel Barcelona
The Palace Hotel is not much different from the Claris and La Meridien, although it certainly is more pricey. For a double room at the Palace Hotel, expect to pay 380 to 550 Euros a night. The Palace Hotel is located in the modern part of town. It sits close to numerous cafes, bars, and shops. It is also surrounded by many historical buildings and is not far from the city’s best shopping area.

Hotel Melia Barcelona
This hotel’s location is not as accessible as the others and is, thus, not as conducive for sightseeing compared to other five-star hotels in Barcelona. However, it is only a ten-minute walk away from the nearest metro stop, and from this starting point, one can go anywhere in the city. What sets this hotel apart, aside from the distance? Locals and guests claim Hotel Melia serves the best breakfast in town!

A stay in any of the five-star hotels in Barcelona will make your vacation truly memorable. Ultimately, however, it is not just your preference for luxury that you have to consider but the health of your pockets.

Staying in Clean Hotel Rooms

You don’t have to be Tony Shalhoub from the TV series Monk to worry about the germs lurking inside your hotel room. Any time you live out of a room that is not your own, one that may not be as clean as you like, you might find thoughts of bed bugs and dust balls dancing in your head. You may wonder when the last time the bathroom was scoured or wonder how many people have wiped their dirty hands on the hotel room curtains. And, of course, you may fervently hope that no previous patrons lived by the mantra “what happens in a hotel room, stays in a hotel room.”

For those who travel frequently for business or pleasure, there are a number of things you can do to reassure yourself that you are staying in the cleanest hotel possible:

Be Picky: When cleanliness is a factor in choosing a hotel room, you can’t let your decision be dictated by price: expensive does not necessarily mean clean. Instead, keep in mind the hotel’s reputation. Many booklets and travel guides will rate hotels based on several factors, one of these being cleanliness. If a hotel received five stars for food, but only one for cleanliness, you’ll know that that hotel has great food, pieces of it just might be stuck inside the carpet strands of your hotel room floor.

Look Around: It’s usually pretty easy to tell if a hotel room is clean or if it’s dirty. This doesn’t require tracing over every ounce of furniture with a prestine white glove, it simply requires looking around. If you notice that the towels are dirty or the bathtub is filled with slime and grime, then mention this to the hotel room staff. If you notice that your sheets are stained or your TV stand contains the world’s largest collection of dust, don’t be afraid to ask to be moved. You aren’t only paying for a hotel room, you are paying for a clean one.

Stay Away from Smoking Rooms or Rooms that Allow Pets: Both smoking and pets - and not to mention pets that smoke - can dirty up an otherwise clean hotel room. Smoke lingers in the air and rests on the tangible items of the room, leaving them discolored and filled with an ash-tray like smell. Pets walk on beds and carpets with muddy or wet paws. They roll around on the floor with possibly flea infested fur and mark their territory in foreign places, forever leaving your hotel room knowing that “Spot was here.”

Get Rid of the Spread: Ah, the hotel room bed spread. If there is one thing in the hotel room that hasn’t been cleaned in a while it’s probably the comforter, a fact that ironically brings you very little comfort. If you think about it, you probably don’t wash your home bedspread all that often, perhaps saving it for the “Spring cleaning” times of year. This is often true in hotel rooms: bedspreads aren’t washed with great frequency. The sheets, however, are washed regularly. Simply removing the bedspread, and cranking up the heat if it gets cold, can save you from sleeping under a blanket of germs.

Hotel rooms may seem impossible to keep immaculate: so many people circulate in and out that it’s hard to keep track of all the germs. But, the hotels reputed for cleanliness are often reputed for a reason: they are, in fact, clean. Limiting your traveling to these types of hotels can also limit your exposure of things to which you don’t want to be exposed. If you can’t limit yourself to hotels known for being clean, then simply travel with your own cleaning supplies, a hazmat suit, or, naturally, a giant bubble.
